"And you would be…" the teacher turned to Leifang. "I, uhhh,
am, ah, just visiting." The girls whispered harder. Akane could see why. She
made a very handsome guy. His hair was short and cropped. His eyes were vivid
green and the sun made them dance. He was tall and muscular. Luckily enough
Leifang wore baggy clothes. Her shirt seemed to fit her male version well and
her shorts were the right length. Thank heaven she didn't have a uniform. This
guy, in a dress would have caused uproar.

Leifang blushed.

"I, uh, need to go." And then she bolted. Akane sighed. Poor
Leifang.



Leifang skidded to a stop in from of the Janitor's closet.

A female Leifang stood dripping wet in the middle of the
hall. She heard someone approaching from the other end of the hall. So she ran.
And ran. When she stopped she was standing in an alley. The sun shone brightly
through the buildings on either side of her. A puddle of water was on the
ground where a pipe was leaking. Leifang knelt and looked at the face in the
puddle. Many people would say they saw a beautiful you woman from America.
Leifang would say she saw a liar. A very practiced liar. Good at disobeying and
telling people what they wanted to hear. She had hinted that her parents worked
in the state department and lived in Japan. Lie. Her parents lived in China.
Her mother right now was trying to get her mind off her daughter by practicing
her martial arts. Her father was maybe making the weapons used by the members
of their community.



She had hinted she was only half Chinese. Another lie. Her
mother and her father were Chinese. Which leads us to her next lie. Well it
wasn't really a lie. It was something she never told anyone. She was adopted.
She was born in New Mexico and was adopted by her Chinese parents there. She
never really thought about her real parents. They were something of the past.
She loved her adoptive parents as biological ones. When people asked why she
wasn't Chinese looking she said that it must have had something to do with her
parents living in the US so long. Telling she was adopted would only work
against her. And her last lie was one no one in Nerima could know about.
Jusenkyo. She had gone against the wishes of her grandmother. That was why she
was cursed so heavily. That was why she was in Japan. Her curses. Her
male/female curse was a cross to bear but the other was worse.

Her grandmother discovered she had gone to train at the
cursed springs she had summoned the remainder of her powers and placed a curse
on Leifang. When Leifang meets the person she is destined to marry she will
have a certain amount of time to remove the curse or she will die. Leifang
found out about this from her mother. Then she fled China so that she would
never meet her destined husband. She hoped she had done the right thing.



She smelled something. The smell was familiar. To her the
smell meant home, family and community.
To the passerby it meant Nekohanten.
She followed the smell to a restaurant. She opened the doors and went to
the front desk. A girl with long hair greeted her. "Welcome to Cat Café. Can
Shampoo help you?"



"I would like some plain top ramen."



"Yes. Great grandmother!"



Cologne walked out of the door and the first thing her eyes
lit on was Leifang. Her battle aura flared up. When Leifang saw the wizened old
coot, her aura flared up also. She did not know why, but this person spelled
enemy and danger in her mind.

Cologne spoke, "Leave now."



"Not with out a fight. Who are you?"



"I should ask that. Shampoo. It is your duty to beat her."



Shampoo cocked an eyebrow. "Ok." The two prepared to fight.
