Ranma stared at Akane in her splendid wedding gown. The white silk cascaded down around her, making her the epitome of angel in his eyes. Her smooth dark hair seemed like silk, puffed up and framed her babyish face. Her eyes were bright and filled with joy, seeming to say something unspoken and express something unutterable. Ranma loved her with a passion he himself was unable to completely comprehend and he knew in his heart, like a knife digging into his soul, that she didn't love him. Then again, maybe it was his fault he didn't tell her his true feelings sooner... but no matter what, it was too late now... this was her wedding, a wedding in which he was not the groom.
Not long ago, but far away
a rainy winter's day
All her pain she kept inside
could no longer hide
no cry for help, she killed herself
Both life and
love could not be saved
Ranma looked on as his love walked slowly up to his former best friend. Her wedding dress trailed behind her like the ripples of water. He could see her smiling face from where he was sitting in the back row. There was a slight flicker of the smile and he thought he had imagined it for she seemed so happy without him. Ranma wanted to capture that smile forever in his memory, thus he continued to stare at the girl in the wedding gown, lost within his thoughts.
As Akane and Ryoga began to take their vows, he stood up from where he sat. He was in the back of the dojo for a reason: it allowed him to leave without being noticed by the other guests. Taking another look at Akane, he turned around and slowly walked out the dojo, into the stormy weather outside. The sky was dark and the cold droplets of rain pounded upon him, turning him into a girl once more. When she (Ranma) looked back and made sure no one was following her, the tears imprisoned within were freed and she began to cry with her heart. Her pain and anguish were as eternal as the heavens and her life as bright as the starless skies above.
Ranma walked on slowly, the rain completely soaking her, ruining her white silk shirt and black pants. She didn't care though. All she knew was Akane had married Ryoga. Her mind was blank as she walked, frozen in the rain. She wandered, just as her mind did and she slowly went over what happened that night... the night Akane tore his (her) heart in two...
she took them both to the grave
A pair of souls become
undone
where were two now one

"HENTAI! How could you go over to Shampoo's place?" Akane had yelled to him after he had gone to the restaurant to tell Shampoo that he loved only Akane and that she should not interfere anymore. However, before his words were out, Shampoo had glomped him. Her purple hair got into his face and the next thing he knew she was trying to kiss him. That infuriated him, and just as he was about to push her off, Akane walked into the restaurant searching for him. She stared at the two for a second, then looked away and ran outside. When Ranma got home, she started the yelling frenzy / argument.
"Well, it ain't MY fault that ya can't cook, can't fight worth CRAP, and are about as feminine as KUNO!" Ranma screamed back. He didn't like how Akane treated him. It wasn't fair that she had to misinterpret everything he did. His words were thrown out as fast as the Kachü Tenshin Amaguriken attack. All he knew was the injustice of her accusation. He didn't like it and wanted to show her how it felt. However, anger blocked out his reason and before he realized it, the last comment came out.
As intended, it took Akane by surprise. She froze, startled at his harshness and with anger radiating from her eyes, said the worst thing she could think of, "Well, at least my mom didn't send me away when I was a kid!"
The bitter comment left a painful expression on Ranma's handsome features for a split second before it was replaced with a glare. Ranma spat out with venom oozing from his voice, "I'd never marry you! Not even if someone paid me a billion yen to do so! I have never even loved you!"
Akane stood petrified. She had thought Ranma loved her. Sure, he always made fun of her, but she always trusted he had feelings for her beneath all his arrogance and rudeness. She was wrong. Her eyes started to glisten with tears. Just when she was about to turn away, a crumbling sound floated into her ears and the wall behind her collapsed. Ryoga, clad in his usual attire walked in. Akane decided Ryoga was the best means of revenge on Ranma, so she grabbed Ryoga's hand and without warning, kissed him on the cheeks. Ryoga's nose suddenly started to bleed. And he fainted upon hearing Akane say, "I've decided to marry Ryoga. He treats me better than you ever will."
Ranma looked at his love in utter shock. *How could she do that?* He thought to himself. *How could she marry that pig?* He slowly dragged himself upstairs and collapsed onto the bed. Hidden tears held within. No, he had no tears. Akane's announcement dried him of tears. That night Ranma couldn't sleep and he tossed and turned in his bed until morning.

divided by this wall of death
I soon will join you
Yet with my blood, I'll find your love
You found the strength to end your life
That was two months ago... now the wedding actually took place and Ranma didn't know what to do with his life.
Ranma walked aimlessly into the forest and amongst the trees. The rain dripped in large drops from the leaves. She didn't know where she was going and didn't care. There was a cliff on the other side of the forest past the grassy area. It was a place where she loved to visit on bright sunny autumn days. She walked up to the cliff and peered over its edge. All she saw was the darkness and the rain falling into oblivion. The rain continued to pound on her back and her eyes were swollen from her tears. Her vibrant red hair was plastered to her head and her pigtail drooped lifelessly. Standing there, she watched and listened. The rain was loud and the thoughts in her mind felt like a vortex draining her of all consciousness.
Suddenly, without warning, she took a step back and pushed off from the edge of the cliff. The air rushed in her face as she slowly closed her eyes and prepared for death. Falling, she thought she heard Akane call her name, but it was too late for her to turn around and look once more.
As you did so shall I
Oh no, please don't go
it's like a death in the family
As Ranma left the Tendo Dojo, Akane watched him from where she stood. She saw the vast sorrow from within his crystal blue eyes and realized how much she loved him and he loved her. She turned around, back towards Ryoga. He had taken his vows. It was now her turn. Her eyes slowly lost focus as the vows were read and when she realized she needed to respond, she looked up blankly and said one word, "No."
The onlookers gasped at such an unconventional reply. Then the room fell silent as Akane spun around and ran into the rain chasing after Ranma. The wedding was the last thing on her mind at that moment. All she knew were the errors she had made and how much it must have destroyed Ranma's soul. She also knew she had used Ryoga, but it mattered not to her. Only Ranma mattered as she ran through the rain, looking for signs of him. All she saw were the muddy footprints nearly washed away by the rain.
Akane chased after Ranma, her wedding dress soaked and stained with mud. Her neatly brushed hair was soaked and stuck to her forehead. However, she didn't care. All she wanted to do was to find Ranma. Luckily, the rain had made streets empty so it wasn't too hard for her to follow Ranma's muddy traces. Slowly, she climbed up the mountain, getting closer to the place where Ranma stood. Nature was bustling with joy of the much-needed water, but Akane was unable to share their joy for when she spotted her love, Ranma had already leapt into the air. She felt her heart skip a beat as Ranma's flaming red hair disappeared from view.
"Ranma!!!!!!!!!!" Akane let out a heart-breaking scream as tears began to spill. She was afraid, sad and lonely. How could she drive her love to such an extent that he would kill himself? And in a way that death was inevitable? Akane shook her head and ran up to where she stood, tears mixed with the rain. Turning around, she ran down the mountain.
A crimson pool so warm and deep
Lulls me to an endless sleep
Your hand in mine, I will be brave
Take me from this earth
An endless night-this, the end of life
When she found Ranma, his body was still warm as blood continued to pool out from him. His curse had vanished with his death and Akane knew all hope was lost. Taking his hand in hers and she knelt beside him, crying as she embraced him in her arms. The wedding gown was no longer completely white, it had soaked up so much mud, rain, blood and tears that the bottom half of it had become brown and muddy. The rest of it was spotted with his blood. Her tears of sorrow mixed with his blood as she continued to weep. They slowly rolled down her cheeks and into the corner of her mouth. She didn't notice the salty droplets of water though, for her sorrow was far too great.
Something glistening in the rain next to Ranma caught her eye. It stuck out from his pockets. The blood had almost completely covered its shinny metallic surface. Taking it in her hands, Akane realized it was a pocketknife, Ranma's pocketknife. Though small, it was very sharp. Staring at it, she pondered over what had happened in the past few days. She quickly found a solution to her problem for life was not worth living without him. The path was clear and she was startled she had not thought of it earlier. Then again, she forgot her grief was so strong that she wasn't thinking coherently.
From the dark I feel your lips
and I feel your bloody kiss
oh no, please don't go
it's like a death in the family
Akane peered at Ranma's pale face and slowly she bent down to kissed him. The kiss wasn't soft and sweet but sticky, coppery, and hard. Akane didn't care then. All she knew was it was her first real kiss and it was with the one she loved. Her hands were bloody from Ranma's wounds, and the blood had seeped through her gown until even the top was stained with the crimson liquid. Holding the pocketknife, she realized her hands were shaking. She was afraid, but she didn't want to give up. Nothing was worth it anymore. She didn't want to throw away this chance of hers to finally be together with him for eternity. Determination shone on her beautiful face as the rain continued to pound. Lightning flashed, and with a sudden jerk, she thrust the blade into her chest.
Her blood flowed out like the river's water, staining the white silk on her chest. Her eyes slowly started to loose focus and she smiled gently, leaning her head upon his. Finally she would be with Ranma forever. Nothing would and could ever get in the way of their love. Not Shampoo, not Ukyo, not Kodachi, not Kuno and not Ryoga. Letting go, she closed her eyes and fell into an eternal sleep with him cradled in her arms.
don't die on me
don't die on me
don't die on me
don't die
