Version Two Chapter One

Cologne was checking out the different programs she had bought when she had gained her new computer. She had made sure to get a powerful machine, yet enough for her to use the programs she had selected. Mostly business programs for the Nekohaten with some office applications like a word processor. She was testing it out not just for herself, but also for her tribe to see if they should try to reach out to the twenty-first century.

'Let's see, everything seems to check out. I have most of the programs check out and they are working alright. It just seems like there is one thing left to run on the system. Something called Gencom, which is funny as I don't remember buying it. Yet I have the receit and the disc, let's see what this is.' She thought as she loaded up the program.

Instantly she felt the jolt of energy as something magical tried to reach out to her. A powerful force to be faced with, yet years of training had caused her will to strength to a steely consitancy. Yet she knew, 'If this program was used on me, it would alter me. Body, mind and spirit. Yet it has fallen into my hands, I shouldn't let this go when it can be of use.'

'I can feel the energies coming from it. It has a strong perverted edge to it, much like sensing Happi when ever he comes around. Yet this might not be a problem for what I have in mind. A little lust isn't a problem if it's between my great granddaughter and son-in-law.' She checked out the screen and managed through some use of the help screen to get profiles on Ranma Saotome and Shampoo of the Hero Women Tribes. She also picked up her own profile and that of Akane Tendo.

'Getting Ranma and Shampoo on this program is the obvious thing, given the fact I want them to get closer. Akane Tendo is less obvious, yet it would be important given how close the boy is getting to the girl. A few alterations between her and Ranma to make their relationship more brother and sister like would help the cause. I also might want to make some changes to myself. Getting my youth back would be welcomed given the state of my body. Hell, make myself younger and Shampoo might have to share her husband with me. He has defeated me before, so why not.' she thought as she looked at the four profiles.

The next thought was simple, 'What do I do first? Or should that be who do I do first?'

Cologne was looking into the profile of Ranma Saotome, after making the choice to focus on the major source of conflict for the plans she had for her granddaughter. Cologne could tell her child loved the boy and would have gone after him even if the marriage laws didn't tell her to marry the boy. It was simple, 'Even if she was just an ordinary Japanese girl, she would have tried to catch his eye. Who wouldn't want a caring strong martial artist, even if you had to fight against his ego or his own mouth. The problems are his faults as well as my great granddaughter's. Yet I want to save my great granddaughter for later, so let's look at the bridegroom.'

Looking at the history, she was pleasantly surprised. She read and thought, "It seemed like even son-in-law is not immune to my Shampoo's sexuality. He is just overwhelmed by it and it usually occurs in situations where he can get into trouble with others. Others with heavy objects in their hands. So I just have to adjust Ranma to be able to accept the open sexuality of my great-granddaughter. Of course, on the other hand, when I modify Shampoo I will give her better judgement at when to use that sexuality."

'Now about the emotions, he is closer to the Tendo girl and considers the Kuonji girl more of a best friend then possible romantic interest. So Shampoo would have come in second in the ranking. He was mostly resistant to her opposing personality of being both a sexy, cheerful innocent girl and yet a cruel, brutal warrior. Especially the element of the cruel streak in her personality is a major turn off for the boy. I admit I don't like her sadistic side, even if I can accept her manipulative side. So it would work best if I erased this element from Shampoo or at least mute it. I can, however, turn the feelings the boy has for Akane into something more brotherly. When I pull up the Tendo girl, I can make such feelings run both ways.' Cologne began to type out some of the corrections she wanted to make. Cologne also continued with increasing the feelings the boy had for Shampoo as he usually saw her as a pest. A sexy, beautiful pest... yet still a pest.

'Of course, tipping the balance in Shampoo's favour wouldn't hurt. Causing an interest in larger, firmer breasts would make it easier to woe him away from the less chesty Akane. Not that she's flat chest with her breast being a medium size and growing, but she is at the low end of her peers including Ranma. An interest in skill martial artists, linked back with his own near absoulte focus on the arts, would create a stronger bond. Then a liking for crimson eyes and violet hair would also aid in the quest. Plus a growing affection and physical attraction to Shampoo couldn't hurt.' Cologne had to face the fact of the matter, which is Ranma was not much of a problem. Shampoo loved him for most of his faults, and even Ranma might have fallen for Shampoo if their had been none of the other factors.

The factor he had latched on to Akane was likely due to her wanting to be his friend, at least according to the story as Nabiki told it. If Shampoo had not given the Kiss of Death and tried to be the girl's friend, or the boy had been a boy at that moment, it might have been possible Shampoo would have been the one to bet on. Ranma had accepted Akane with her anger issues, he might have Shampoo excluding the nasty side. So while she was tempted to smooth off some of the edges of the boy, she kept him much the same.

'Now the question is whether to change Akane Tendo or Shampoo next... or try something completely different like myself.' Cologne looked at the remaining profiles.

The second half of the equation which was her future expanded family was her own great granddaughter, Shampoo. Some of the blame for the closing failure of the wedding hunt could be laid at the feet of the amazon maiden. Some of it was inherient in her character, while others were cases of the tide of luck bashing against her. Now the deck had been shuffled and the matriarch knew where each card was going to fall, because she was going to be the one dealing. She had a few points to narrow down for the smoothing out the wrinkles in the relationship.

'A little lift to her tactical skills and her knowledge of seduction. A better sense of timing would also allow her to keep from overloading the brain of son-in-law. Like taming a real wild horse, gentle movements will gain better results then harsher actions. This will also help her if she decides to take up the challenge of becoming a leader of her people or even a matriarch. If only for the ability to know when best to move forward and when to retreat from battle.' Cologne had no illusion on the intellect of her great granddaughter, unlike many of the Japanese. Many saw the inability to speak simple, raw japanese as a lack of brains. Anyone who saw the complex plans the young warrior developed to catch her husband, get rid of Mousse or her rival or just get what she wants... it took a well developed mind to create these creative blueprints. Even if they failed much of the time due to factors she had yet to take into account.

'Next is the cruel element of her own personality, which is a turn off for son-in-law. I guess it is partially my fault for not reigning her in. Cruelty should not be used at every encounter with a foe. Only those who deserve cruelty should recieve it, and then only if there is no other way to punish them. Revenge should also be visited on the right person and only used when controlled by justice. Diminishing the cruelty to levels expected of a wise amazon and the understanding that justice must come before vengance must be added.' Cologne was making a mental check list to the faults which needed to be corrected. The first two had been neutralized, others still remained.

'The unfortunate luck of gaining a curse form of the same creature which causes a mental breakdown for the future groom has plagued Shampoo. Yet she has not earned a curse for her condition by the laws of hero women, even with the power I now have I do not want to violate the laws. Yet with the power to change reality with a click of the keyboard, I might be able to come up with a change. I have a fun little idea which I have been dying to use.' thought Cologne as she started to build on the thought.

The idea was to mix a female form of her great granddaughter with the form of a powerful spirit or creature. Obvious choices were that of a long or kitsune. A Raiju, a creature of lightning and fire, would make an interesting choice. Many creatures were given this name like cats, monkeys and weasels. Yet the one she was thinking of was a wolf of lightning or flame. For another element would be that of a Yuki-onna with power over ice and snow, with perhaps some ghostly powers.

'What should I do with the curse?'

Cologne decided on a divine blessing with regard to her great-granddaughter, and used the ancient totem of the legendary dragon. She had an idea for the humanoid curse form she would be blessing her kin with. During her time in Japan, she has become a fan of the entertainment known as manga and anime. One of the more famous half-dragon was Mink of Dragon Half.

'Mink is the child of a human warrior father and an imperial red dragon more common in the western legends. She can fly with the aid of retractable wings, breath fire like most western dragons and has great strength and endurance. She even has a resistance to poisons. Add to this was the addition of ecdysis where she sheds her skin and becomes more power. The first gave her six horns instead of two with some power booster, while the second would turn her into a giant hideous monster. However, given the humour of the show, this turned out to be a ten-armed, four-eyed monster which was a mark on her butt. It did make her more powerful then a demon god.' remember the elder as she sorted through the system of the change.

'I'll removed the wings and just give her the power to use her ki to float in the air. More in keeping with our cultural heritage, and all that. Strength and edurance are a keeper, even if I would have to give her a better system of controlling those powers then she has now. Make more ecdysis cycles of less power, I don't need a god bucking my suggestions at the moment. Maybe add more time between them. Now it comes to the factor of elemental affinity.' Cologne finished the main template she was going to place on her great-granddaughter's curse. She wanted to save the template in case she wanted to apply it to someone else, like Ranma-kun or her own younger self.

'Just add a spot to allow for selection of the elemental aspect. Not only should the dragon be able to breath out the element, but they should be able control the element for use in martial arts techniques and/or magical abilities like spells. Spells and techniques which increase with the transformations to a higher form.' Cologne saved the data she had now, not wanting to activate it yet. She needed to look for something using the internet.

One of the inspiration of the show Dragon Half was the American game of Dungeons and Dragons, which from the name alone involved dragons. Each one had a different breath weapon. Many with elemental natures. Like fire, cold, acid, lightning, poison, light, force, sound, magnetic energy, thorns, chunks of earth, dust, shadows and various gases. Hundreds of possiblities for the elemental nature of breath weapon.

'What should be Shampoo's gift?'

Cologne knew that Ranma had the ability to generate his own icy field with the power of the "Soul of Ice" technique she had taught him. In her mind this made the selection of Shampoo's powers more interesting, 'Ranma has the power of icy to create powerful winds using the heat of his foe's ki, so if I was to make him a dragon it would make a little sense to make him have some kind of ice attack and ability. If I was to give Shampoo the ability of fire, it might create an more developed pairing with the two of them developing their own powerful attack formations. Plus the compliment of opposites is a principle of the Tao, symbolized by the merging of yin and yang.'

'It would be a most interesting pairing and with this computer, if things do not work out as I have expected I can just change things around. Or I can add a change of powers as an aspect of Shampoo's ecdysis. So just to make the changes and cause them to be intergrated with the history we have lived for the last few months.' thought the matriarch as she placed the template on the young purple hair girl. To make it even more specialized, she allowed the colour of young dragongirl's fire to be the same shade as her eyes (crimson) or her hair (violet).

'So to review the situation I have created. Son-in-law has been adjusted to allow him to accept more of my Shampoo's behavour. Including her overt sexuality which has scared him off much of the time, which was only heightened by the young Tendo girl's accusations of pervertism. Toning down his feelings for Akane to something close to a brother-sister relationship or that between male and female best friends. Adding a few things to tip the balance will also help. For example, causing him to be a breast man interested in large firm orbs of feminity. Or an attraction for crimson eyes and violet hair. Having him interested in martial artist women around his level will also cause a stronger bond to form, as well as provide the great artist I have desired for the clan's training.' Cologne then went over the other changes she had made so far.

"With Shampoo I have made her more skilled with tactics and seduction, a little more sense of timing to know when to attack. A have worked with this system to tone down her cruelty to those who truely deserve it... like Happi! Then to stop the cat curse from chasing Ranma away, I have replaced it with a dragongirl curse which might be more of an advantage then a disadvantage. The ability to use Ki to fly, boost to strength and endurance, and the control plus generation of fire.' Cologne finished her most recent work and now had to decide what to do next with the program. Continue to alter people, like Akane or Mousse... or sit back and see what effects she had already caused.

Hours Later...

Cologne had finished all of the other transformations and changes she wanted to perform with the genie within the computer, taking those with the most pressing effect on the relationship between her great granddaughter and her airen. There were others who could be a problem still out there who she had not yet altered, yet she wanted to see how the events she had altered were going to play out before she made more corrections in people's lives. The main files which had been manipluated were Ranma, Shampoo, Akane and Mousse.

'This leaves most of Ranma's fiancee in the mix as well as the Tendos and his father in the line of people who could cause troubles. Most of the rivals for the other girls might be out of the running as Ranma would be focus the one woman they are not interested in. Ranma's mother is a bit more tricky, since she is divided between the way of honour which would point away from Shampoo and yet she wants an enlargement of family which Shampoo could deliver. This will require more observation to see if I have an ally or a foe with my future in-law.' thought the Matriarch as she looked over the files.

'This will have to be a test run of how things will turn out with my tool aiding me, which given this is a perverted genie instead of an evil one it is more likely that I might be getting great grandchildren. Or great-to-the-point-it-gets-annoying-to-say-all-the-greats grandchildren. Meanwhile, I will just go about my day as normal... after making sure this computer program is so locked up and protected that the armies of hell itself would bang against it's gates.' thought the old woman as she began to type in the numerous codes and passwords which would allow only her to access the computer program. Which she knew was needed, given this was a perverted genie in a box and there was the most perverted and nasty martial artist in the world wondering around the area.

Images of what would happen to all of them if Happosai was to get complete control over this machine, causing her to get on the brink of blowing massive chunks. Then she thought, 'I think it would be best to upgrade my Anti-Happi booby traps to make sure he keeps away from the Nekohaten. Maybe something with lasers or explosives?'

Meanwhile in the bottom part of the Nekohaten...

Ranma was coming in for a meal of ramen for the day, knowing that Shampoo would be willing to give him some for a discounted price if not free. The only reason that he paid for the ramen was that her great grandmother didn't believe in giving out freebies even to 'family'. However, there was a part of him which was looking forward to visiting with Shampoo who was a beautiful and sexy woman.

'You would have to be an idiot not to see that Shampoo would be a great catch, still I've kept her at arms length. Not sure why? There must be an answer to it, but it's not coming to me. It doesn't seem that important at the moment. Maybe it wouldn't be bad to let her have a date with me every once and a while, as long as I don't have to worry about Akane getting jealous and angry.' thought Ranma as he sat down at the table waiting for the service.

He could see Shampoo flying around with her bowls and glasses, having be placed in her dragongirl mode by a splash of water. Then she saw him after finishing delivering an order and rushed over to him with rapid speed into a flying amazon glomp. It took martial arts skills to keep himself seated to the chair and not to have it tip over.

"Nihao Airen, what you want today? Too-too yummy ramen?"asked the bubbly girl as she held out her note pad as she stepped back from him.

"Just looking for couple of bowls from a cute waitress." Ranma said as he didn't notice the compliment he had given. Yet Shampoo did as well as a certain reality manipulating older woman who had just walked into the restaurant.
