New Memories

Days and days went by quickly for Shampoo. She was finally on at least something like friendly terms with Akane. Not only that, but she has also had her stamina increased from her exhausting training. It was summer now and in Japan it was very hot. Shampoo was located at the Cat Café with a couple of customers including Ranma-chan and Akane. They were talking about a vacation.

Ranma-chan: I still think we should go to the beach. We could cool off there.

Akane: You're right, but what about the people there? I bet there's gonna be tons.

Ranma-chan rested her head in her palms. She looked at Shampoo, who was lost in thought. Ranma-chan smiled. She waved a face in front of her.

Ranma: Shampoo. Whatcha thinking about? Maybe a secret lover perhaps?

That seemed to get Shampoo's attention. She looked at Ranma, who smiled slyly at her.

Shampoo (thinking): Two can play that game.. But who to say………….. I got it!…………… It's a very good thing he's not here.

Shampoo put on a dreamy face. Ranma looked shocked.

Shampoo (dreamily): Yeah. We had a real fun time last night.

Ranma-chan: WHAT??

Shampoo looked at her. Ranma-chan noted that she still had that weird dreamy face on.

Ranma-chan (thinking bitterly): She only got that face when she thought of me.

Akane (interested/joking): Is it Mousse? Heh heh.

Akane grabbed for her drink and started drinking.

Shampoo (still dreamy): Yeah..

Akane spit out the drink she was just about to swallow. Ranma-chan looked outraged.

Both: WHAT!!??

Shampoo looked away from them. She didn't want them to see her smiling like a madwoman. Ranma-chan looked as though she would burst by how red she turned. She also had her jaw clenched really tight and her fists balled up. If you looked closely enough, you could see her nails digging to her now white skin. Akane had her eyes taking up eighty percent of her face.

Finally Shampoo looked back at them and started laughing. Ranma-chan seemed to look confused for a second until it turned to anger. Akane finally got her bearings into gear and joined Shampoo until………. Ranma-chan passed out. They heard a THUNK, so they quickly ran over to her side.

Akane (shaking Ranma-chan): Ranma! Ranma! Wake up!

Shampoo looked over at Ranma-chan. Then she kneeled by her and lightly slapped her face. When that didn't work she got up and started cooking some ramen. Akane looked at her confused.

Akane: What the heck are you doing Shampoo? We need to help Ranma-huh?

While Akane was talking, Ranma-chan smelled the ramen and sat straight up. She then ran over to the ramen that Shampoo put on the counter. She smirked smugly at Akane. Akane groaned when she saw Ranma-chan attack her food.

Akane: Ranma. Why the heck did you pass out?

Ranma-chan just kept digging into her food. It was gone a few seconds later.

Ranma-chan: (swallow the rest of the ramen) Huh? Oh.. (Scratch the back of her head) I don't know.

Ranma-chan (thinking): Like I'd tell you that I passed out from shock Akane!

Akane (grumbling): Whatever..

Ranma-chan: Anyway……. I was speaking of the summer…… I still say that we should go to the beach.

Shampoo: Ranma, don't you remember that I turn to……. My cursed form when hit with cold water.

Ranma-chan (thinking): Boy am I glad she didn't say it. (Shiver)

Ranma-chan: Heh heh. I guess I forgot.

Ranma-chan sweat dropped when she saw both girls roll their eyes. Then she thought of something.

Ranma-chan: Hey! I know! You can use that soap that let's you stay the same.

Shampoo thought about it for a while. Then she sighed and nodded. Ranma-chan jumped up in the air and cheered.

Ranma-chan: YEAH! WE'RE ALL GOIN' TO THE BEACH.

Shampoo (thinking): Shoot! Maybe I should have said no. That stuff's expensive……... (Sigh) Ah well.

Akane: Ranma aren't you forgetting something?

Ranma-chan stopped parading around the Cat Café. She looked at Akane confused. Akane rolled her eyes again.

Akane (aggravated): How exactly are we gonna go to the beach Ranma?

She looked back at her. Ranma slumped her shoulders. Then she looked smartly. Akane jumped to the conclusion that Ranma knew how to go to the beach.

Ranma: I don't know!

Akane facefaulted. She picked herself off the ground and glared up at her. Ranma-chan looked back.

Ranma-chan: What did I do?

Akane (angry): You are so stupid!

Ranma-chan got as equally angry.

Ranma-chan: I am not you uncute tomboy!

Akane: What did you call me?!

Ranma-chan: You heard me! You're an uncute, built like a brick, annoying, gorilla faced, flat-chested tomboy!

Akane: Why you... you... JERK!

Akane decked Ranma-chan into the sky. She went spiraling all the way. Akane huffed at the direction Ranma-chan went in.

The whole time Shampoo watched the two of them fighting. Right by the time Akane decked Ranma-chan, Shampoo felt her heart. It felt as though it was being clenched tightly. She also felt a wave of dizziness around her and fell to the floor on her knees. She tried speaking.

Shampoo (whispering): Akane... Akane... help plea- THUD

That caught Akane's attention. She looked at the fallen girl before her. Then panic-struck. Akane ran to the phone and dialed Dr. Tofu's number.

Akane (phone): Dr. Tofu…….. This is Akane. I need you to help me. Shampoo passed out on me….... I don't know why!……….. Okay. Come quick! Bye.

Akane hanged up the phone and looked back at Shampoo.

Akane (thinking): I don't think I want to know why you passed out Shampoo. I like you better when you're not chasing Ranma. That way you won't annoy me that much.

Akane picked up Shampoo and headed toward the guestroom. She quickly laid her on the bed and looked out the window. She heard the Cat Café's bell ring and ran out of the room. Dr. Tofu was walking towards her. She quickly ushered Dr. Tofu in. Once inside, Tofu began to check Shampoo. Once he finished examining, he looked at Akane.

Tofu: There's nothing to be worried about Akane. Whatever made her pass out is gone now. She seems normal to me. Just give her some rest for a while. It's probably the stress she gets from the heat.

Akane: Okay. But are you sure that she's okay?

Tofu smiled at her and nodded.

Tofu: But just in case she feels like it, tell her to come see me. I'll check her over again. I gue-

Tofu stopped at what he was saying. He could hear Shampoo mumbling. He tried making it out, but all he got out of her was a repeating of

Shampoo (mumbling): no... stop... I...

That's all he could hear. Shampoo was thrashing about now. He tried to calm her, but almost got hit in the face instead. She suddenly sat bolt straight up. She was gasping and sweating at her apparent nightmare.

Akane watched Shampoo closely and suspiciously.

Akane (mumbling): Please don't let the bimbo remember...

With Ranma-chan

Meanwhile Ranma-chan had just landed in nearby tree. She looked as to where she was...

Ranma-chan: How ironic...

Ranma-chan had just so happened to land near the Tendo dojo. She walked straight in saying hi to Kasumi and dumped a kettle of hot water on her/himself.

Ranma: Much better.

Just then, a bandana flew by Ranma's head. He looked to where it hit... a nearby tree was cut in half. Ranma smirked because he knew who was here. Ranma looked around until he saw Ryouga on the roof.

Ranma: Hey. Mr.P how ya doin'?

Ryouga jumped down from the roof and ran straight for Ranma. He threw a fist in Ranma's face……... well he would have if Ranma didn't dodge it.

Ryouga: Don't call me that!

Ranma jumped a few feet away. Then he smiled….... it was more of a smirk.

Ranma: Oh come on Ryouga. I'm just messin' with ya man. You haven't been around for a while.

Ryouga pointed an accusing finger at Ranma.

Ryouga: You have made my life a living hell Ranma. Now you will pay….....

Rouga threw his umbrella at Ranma, who dodged it easily. It left a large crater in the yard.

Ranma: Fine. If ya want it that way let's go somewhere else. Follow me and don't get lost pig boy.

Ryouga: Ranma come here and fight me like a man.

Ranma ran all the way to the school grounds before Ryouga threw about a dozen bandanas his way. Ranma stopped and avoided most of them, but on managed to nick his right side. Ryouga smirked.

Ryouga: Now you will pay Saotome!

Ranma put his hands up in defense. He started to wave them around like when he is usually in a bad scene with Akane accusing him.

Ranma (while ducking and dodging punches): Ah, come on Ryouga. Since we're friends can't we forgive and forget?

Ryouga still punched and kicked at Ranma. Ranma took that as a no, so he shrugged and fought back.

Ranma: You asked for this Ryouga…….

The two of them exchanged blows to the head and stomach. Then Ranma went on the defensive and……..

Ranma: KATCHU TENSHIN AMAGURIKEN!

Ranma's punches were delivered like rapid fire. Ryouga was heavily on the defensive.

Ryouga (thinking): I will not lose to him...

Just then, Ryouga jumped backward, getting hit a few times and threw his bandanas.

Ryouga (still throwing bandanas): Take that Ranma!

Ranma didn't see some of the bandanas coming, so some hit clearly in his chest, arms, and legs. Ranma finally started to get angry. Ranma then used up more of his speed to get to Ryouga. He got nicked on his left cheek. That made him really ticked off.

Ranma (thinking): Damn! I almost got him. His defense is low right now, so I can get clear punches.

Ranma moved in closer to Ryouga. He never noticed though because he was too busy throwing all of his bandanas at Ranma.

Ryouga: Ha! I've got you now Ranma. Now Akane will be mine.

Ranma: I don't care about that stupid tomboy. But take this Ryouga…... KACHU TENSHIN AMAGURIKEN!!!

Ryouga was too stunned at the attack. He got hit all over his body by Ranma's punches.

Ryouga (while being punched): How did you-

Ranma still used his Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire technique, but doubled his power. Ryouga didn't get to finish his sentence because Ranma knocked him unconscious.

Once Ranma was sure Ryouga was out cold, he stopped his punches and sat down on the ground breathing heavily. Ranma looked over at the fallen Ryouga.

Ranma: Man thanks Ryouga. You gave me a real workout.…… Now I better go see that uncute tomboy and Shampoo, so we can make a plan……. Stupid Akane knocking me out here…….. I know a way to get to the beach and I bet Shampoo would agree, but Akane won't…... Damn! It would have been good training to walk to the beach……...Hmm…… Ah well!

Ranma got up and dusted himself off. He looked at Ryouga one last time before shrugging.

Ranma: I don't want you to come try to kill me when you wake up. See ya.

Ranma started to walk out of the school grounds until Kuno came up to him.

Ranma: What do you want Kuno? I really don't have time to deal with you right now.

Kuno: You are lucky today foul beast, for the great Tatewaki Kuno is not here to destroy you today.

Ranma (bored): Really? Then what the heck do you want?

Kuno: Nabiki Tendo has told The Great Blue Thunder that you are the quickest way to give a message to my pig-tailed goddess.

Ranma: Why don't you forget about her? And anyway what do you want?

Kuno: I want both the pig-tailed goddess (Ranma rolled his eyes) and the fair Akane Tendo to accompany me to my sea cruise this weekend.

Ranma snorted.

Ranma: Yeah we remember the last time you asked them to come with you.…….Everyone got stuck on that stupid island for a while. And Toma tried to take her as his stupid bride.

Kuno: It is different this time, I swear as the Blue Thunder o-

Ranma: Yeah, yeah. We all heard that before.

Ranma (thinking): Wait a minute……. I guess I do know a way to get all of us to the beach or better……..I'm so brilliant!

Ranma: Kuno. She will only come on one condition.

Kuno: And what may that be?

Ranma: You have to take Shampoo and me with you.

Kuno: Never! I would never let a foul creature like you around the pig-tailed goddess and the fair Akane Tendo…... Hmm….... The fair Shampoo will be allowed aboard.

Kuno grinned. Ranma scowled at him and restrained himself from beating the kendo champ into a pulp for talking about Shampoo that way.

Ranma: fine then, but I'll have you know that none of the girls would go with you alone. I would be there to watch them.

Kuno: You fowl beast! You have also enslaved their minds from me. And how would you know of what the pig-tailed goddess would say?

Ranma panicked at that time. Then he regained his composure and smirked.

Ranma: Because Kuno. She told me straight from her own mouth. You can take my word for it as a martial artist.

Kuno looked at Ranma with hate in his eyes. When he finally thought about it he knew that he wouldn't lie because of honor.

Kuno: Very well Saotome. I shall allow you aboard, but if you brain wash my three beauties I will punish you.

And with that, Kuno was off. Ranma smiled until he thought of something.

Ranma: Oh man! I just got Shampoo in his sights too! She's gonna kill me when she finds out! Damn!

Ranma still trudged on forward towards the Cat Café. When he finally arrived, Akane and Dr. Tofu were at the counter talking. Dr. Tofu said his goodbye to both Ranma and Akane and left. Akane was the first to notice the grin on Ranma's face. Even thought she was still mad at the jerk, she was interested as to why he was grinning.

Akane (thinking): He was probably at Ukyo's place.

Akane glared at Ranma, but he took no notice of it. Then she saw that he was looking for something.

Akane: (sigh) Ranma, what the heck are you looking for anyway?

Ranma: Uh, Akane why was Dr. Tofu here and where's Shampoo?

Akane: Oh…… You see, Shampoo passed out a little while ago on the floor. And Dr. Tofu was here to check on her.

Akane looked at Ranma. He looked worried. Then Akane spoke bitterly.

Akane (bitterly): If you want to see her, she's in the guest room... it's o-

Ranma already dashed towards the room.

Akane (bitterly): And I wonder how he knew where the guestroom was.

Akane glared at an invisible form in the hallway. Meanwhile, Ranma looked at the person sitting on the bed. She looked scared, so Ranma approached with caution.

Ranma: Hey Shampoo.

Shampoo looked at him. She tried smiling back at him, but he could easily tell that she was forcing herself to.

Ranma: What's wrong with you?

He took a chair next to the bed and sat down on it.

Shampoo: I just had a bad dream... That's all.

Ranma decided to push a bit.

Ranma: Then why'd I hear that you passed out?

Shampoo: `cause I did pass out. I'm not sure why I did though, but I bet that I was really tired because of the heat.

Ranma looked at her to see if she was lying. If she was, she could hide it really well. He stopped examining her and then smiled an I-know-what-you-don't-know smile. Shampoo looked at his grin. She grinned herself.

Shampoo: So Ranma…….. got lucky?

Ranma: Yup. Take a guess at it.

Shampoo concentrated about the recent events.

Shampoo: You uh, found a way to get to the beach?

Ranma: Yup.

Shampoo looked at him shocked for a second.

Shampoo: So what? Do you have connections or something? How'd you find a quick way to get to the beach?

Ranma: We're not going to the beach. We're going on a cruise... with...

Ranma signaled for her to come closer, so she did so.

Ranma (whispering in her ear): It's Kuno.

Shampoo face faulted on the bed. She got up quickly and looked up at him confused.

Shampoo: Why Ranma?

Ranma: Well, it was easy really…….

Ranma told Shampoo the whole……. well almost the whole story on how he got Kuno to let them go with him. He didn't mention anything about how Kuno likes Shampoo now, though.

A few minutes later Akane walked in. Ranma and Shampoo told the story about the cruise.

Akane: Ranma! How could you just do that? We're gonna be alone with Kuno for a whole week!

Ranma: Ah come on Akane. It'll be fun and we can protect ourselves from that pervert.

Akane sighed when she saw the look of eagerness on both Ranma and Shampoo's faces. She smiled a bit.

Akane: Fine. I'll go.

Ranma: All right. We'll be leaving tomorrow, so get some good rest.…… We'll see ya later Shampoo. We don't wanna be here when the old ghoul's back.

Ranma smirked at the last sentence. Shampoo smiled at him. Akane looked at the both of them and restrained her anger for once.

Both Ranma and Akane left soon after. They had to get ready for the cruise the next day. Meanwhile Shampoo made a phone call to the Jusenkyo Products Store to buy some of the soap.

Shampoo: *And make it fast please!*
