Ranma 1/2 Fan Fiction ❯ Ranma Reincarnated ❯ Chapter 3

Journal Entry 3:

Today at school I tried to fix the Kuno problem, don’t know if it worked yet since I had to put him in the hospital. Kuno’s cheek will heal in time but he will always have that scar, as a reminder not to mess with me. Hopefully Kuno will get the hint and leave me alone, if not, I can put him in intensive care easily enough. I have come up with a plan so that I have an excuse to stay after the month is up. It’s simple. Get Nabiki to like me enough to ask me to stay. And I’m sure Genma and Soun will come up with something if that backfires. Why do I want to stay? Because I need to in order to become as powerful as the original Ranma. I need to prepare for Ryoga though, that maniac might kill me before I have a chance to talk to him. Speaking of Ryoga, me an him actually became good friends before I left. Wonder if he will still be after me for the same reason?

The next few days at school were relatively peaceful since Kuno was still in the hospital, oddly enough no one has accused Ranma of putting him there. Ranma went through his school work and usually finished in five or ten minutes, even doing his homework in class and always scored a one hundred on all tests. Ranma and Genma sparred every day when Ranma wasn’t eating, sleeping or at school.

“Mr. Saotome, Ranma.” Kasumi called from the dinning room. “Breakfast!”

“Ah, thank you dear Kasumi.” Genma said as he and Ranma knocked each other into the Koi pond and swam out and took his seat at the table. /Starting today, I have a part-time job./

“What’s the job?” Ranma asked as she took off her shirt and wrung it out.

/Cleaning./ Genma held up another sign as he ate.

“Please pass the soy sauce.” Nabiki asked from next to him.

“So Ranma, working out again?” Soun asked as he walked into the room brushing his teeth.

“Yeah.” Ranma nodded as she continued to dry his shirt.

“Att….” Soun stopped and went bug eyed when he noticed Ranma had no shirt on.

“Oh come on, their just boobs, get over it.” Ranma sighed as he put the shirt back on and sat down at the table.

“You are unbelievable!” Akane yelled as she poured hot water over Ranma. “Have you no feminine modesty?”

“You’ve all seen boobs before right?” Ranma asked as he ate. “So what’s the big deal?”

“Clothes were invented for a reason.” Akane growled.

“Clothes were invented by an ugly fat person.” Ranma stated, as if it were a fact.

“By the way, Akane.” Kasumi interrupted as she refilled a bowl of rice. “On your way home from school could you stop by Dr. Tofu’s?”

“Why?” Akane asked.

“I borrowed this book from him.” Kasumi held up a book titled: Human Pressure Points. “And I’d like you to return it.”

“Could you… um… do it yourself Kasumi?” Akane murmured. “Today’s not good for me.”

“Really? Well I guess I’ll have to.” Kasumi frowned.

“I can do it.” Ranma said. “I was meaning to stop by there anyway.”

“Thanks Ranma.” Kasumi beamed as she handed him the book.

“No prob.” Ranma shrugged as he put the book in his backpack. “I don’t have a problem with helping people that deserve it.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Akane growled.

“Why do you think every little thing I say has to do with you?” Ranma asked as he finished eating. “I’d much rather pretend you don’t exist than actually talk about you, much less to you.”

“Jerk.” Akane huffed as she got up and gathered her things and left.

“C’mon Nabiki, we’re going to be late.?” Ranma grabbed Nabiki and ran out the door.

“It’s seems those two are getting along.” Kasumi noted as she cleaned up the table.

“The schools will be united.” Soun and Genma cheered.

A group of boys stood in front of Akane and the usual fight broke out, Akane as usual defeating them easily. Ranma and Nabiki just ignored it and went to go in the school when Kuno appeared. He had a big bandage covering the side of his face that had been cut up.

“You go ahead, I’ll deal with Kuno.” Ranma said to Nabiki, who nodded and went into the school. “What do you want Kuno?”

“I have come to cleanse thee of the demon that posses you.” Kuno proclaimed as he held up various charms and wards.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Ranma frowned.

“Alas you must not know of it!” Kuno continued as he lifted one hand to his bandage and ripped it off, revealing a cross shaped scar. “Against fighting as you are, the demon that posses you has scarred me with his madness.”

“Ranma gave Kuno that scar?” Someone asked.

“I’m not possessed by any demons.” Ranma snorted.

“How cruel that demon must be to erase your memory of the event.” Kuno said as he started sticking random wards and charms on Ranma. “Do not fear, these wards and charms will prevent him from taking control of you again.”

‘At least he isn’t after me, I’ll just go along with it and wear the stupid charms.’ Ranma mentally shrugged. “Thanks Kuno.”

“It is no problem, as it is a samurai’s duty to seal away all evil.” Kuno stated as he finished putting the charms and wards on Ranma.

“Well, Kuno.” Ranma bowed and walked past him into the school. “Don’t want to be late for class.”

“Agreed.” Kuno nodded as he too went into the school.

‘What a ham.’ Ranma thought as he sat down in his chair, he had disposed of the wards but left a couple of the charms on to pacify Kuno. ‘Oh well, at least he wont be bugging me every day before school.’

Ranma was easily flipping around a gymnast bar and even did a triple spin before grabbing it again. After a few minutes he flipped down onto the ground and landed casually. Everyone clapped, awed at Ranma’s skill.

“Amazing Saotome.” One boy said as Ranma sat down next to him.

“This guy studied gymnastics in China.” Another said.

“It was Martial Arts.” Ranma corrected. “And all gymnastics are is balance and control.”

“So level with us.” the first boy said. “Have you gotten anywhere with Akane or Nabiki?”

“We know your living with them.” The other added.

“Nowhere.” Ranma shrugged. “And I don’t intend to get anywhere.”

“Man, how can you ignore a hot chick like Akane?” The first asked.

“Nabiki ain’t to bad either.” the other agreed.

“Akane has issues.” Ranma said simply as he watched the baseball game. “And it would cost too much for Nabiki.”

“It’s yours Akane!” Someone yelled from the baseball field.

“Got it.” Akane yelled as she caught a baseball and smiled happily.

“Were up.” Someone else said.

“Man she’s cute.” the other boy said.

“Only when she isn’t being a raging maniac.” Ranma said dully as Akane went up to bat.

“What do you……..” The first started but stopped when Ranma lazily stuck out his hand and caught the ball that would have hit him in the face. “Wow.”

“Man, how did you do that?” The other asked.

“Training.” Ranma shrugged and chucked the ball back to the players.

Nabiki, Akane and Ranma were walking home. Nabiki and Ranma were chatting about school work when they spotted Genma in his panda form sweeping the entrance of the chiropractors.

“Mr. Saotome, what are you doing here?” Akane asked.

Genma just made a shush motion and continued sweeping.

“Well, well, Ranma, Akane and Nabiki!” Tofu greeted as he came outside. “This is Mr. Saotome, he started working for me today. Do you know each other?”

“You don’t say?” Tofu said. “Ranma’s father?”

“We look nothing alike, huh.” Ranma smirked. “Oh yeah, I need to return this book to you. Kasumi borrowed it.”

“Is that right?” Tofu took the book and read the title. “Well, I thank you for returning it.”

“Ranma, I’m going to go ahead and head home okay?” Nabiki said as she walked out the door.

“Later, Nabiki.” Ranma noted.

“Wait, Nabiki.” Akane went after her. “I’ll go with you.”

“Hey Tofu?” Ranma said.

“Yes, Ranma?” Tofu replied as he put the book away.

“I was wondering if you would teach me some stuff like chi manipulation and pressure points.” Ranma stated.

“I can.” Tofu nodded. “Just come by when the clinic closes every day and I can teach you as much as you want.”

“Cool, see you later tonight then.” Ranma nodded as he left.

“Wonder what he wants to know.” Tofu thought out loud as he watched Ranma go.

“Hey Tofu, open up.” Ranma called as he knocked on the door to the clinic.

“Ah, Ranma.” Tofu greeted as he opened the door. “Are you ready for your first lesson?”

“Yep.” Ranma nodded as he entered the building.

“Okay, first off we will do pressure points.” Tofu motioned for him to stand next to a dummy that had points marked on it. “Memorizing the points and what they do.”

“Which ones are paralysis points?” Ranma asked.

“So that’s what your after?” Tofu asked and pointed to five different points. “Well, there are six total. Two of them paralyze your arms, two paralyze your legs and one paralyzes everything except what you need to live and your ability to talk and blink.”

“What about the sixth?” Ranma asked.

“The sixth is to dangerous for me to teach you.” Tofu replied.

“Fine by me.” Ranma shrugged.

“Alright, now I want you to practice hitting the points and I’ll observe and tell you if you mess up.” Tofu motioned for Ranma to begin.

“Right.” Ranma nodded as he stood in front of the dummy and jabbed one of the spots quickly.

“Like this.” Tofu adjusted Ranma’s hand. “And hit it lightly.”

“Ok.” Ranma nodded and tried again. “Like this?”

“Yes, you’re a fast learner.” Tofu smiled. “Now, try and get that etched in your muscle memory.”

“So that I can do it automatically, right?” Ranma asked as he hit another point the way Tofu told him to.

“Correct.” Tofu nodded. “When your done, we can go over some other points.”

“Thanks for teaching me, Tofu.” Ranma said as he continued.

After an hour Tofu stopped him and told him to sit down in a lotus position.

“Close your eyes and try and “feel” where I am.” Tofu instructed as Ranma did so. “Trust your instinct.”

“I sense something.” Ranma mumbled.

“Good, that is my chi.” Tofu nodded.

“Its just a human shaped white blob.” Ranma noted.

“Yes, as you get better you can read the signature of the chi.” Tofu explained. “And tell not only where a person is, but who a person is. You can also tell what kind of aura they are giving off.”

“One prob Tofu.” Ranma frowned as he opened his eyes.

“What?” Tofu asked.

“I’m a martial artist, I need to be able to have my eyes open and move around for it to be of any use.” Ranma explained.

“Then I will teach you the basics and you can spar with your father while focusing on what I taught you.” Tofu suggested.

“Sounds good.” Ranma nodded as he continued to focus on sensing Tofu’s chi.

“A wild boar!” Someone cried as a giant boar tore through a building. “On a rampage!”

The boar was heading straight for a teenage boy holding a camping pack and a wooden umbrella.

“You there, look out!” Someone yelled. “Run ya dang fool!”

The boy turned around to face the charging boar quietly and held out his arm holding the umbrella, the tip of it pointing right at the boar. The boar hit the tip and stopped, the boy didn’t budge a fraction of an inch.

“He stopped it…..” Someone said, shocked.

The boy then did a complicated move and launched the boar high into the air. The boy turned back around and continued walking as the boar crashed down behind him.

“D’you practice them Martial arts?” Someone asked.

“You been up practicin’ in thet mountain?” Someone else asked.

“Where is Furinkan High School?” The boy asked and held up a map.

“F’rinkan high school?” Someone repeated.

“Oh-ho, a map eh?” Someone else said.

“Lemme see ’er.” Another person took the map.

“Say, ain’t this Tokyo?” Someone asked.

“That’s five hundred mile north of here!” Someone stated.

“I see.” The boy took back the map and continued walking. “Forgive the commotion.”

“Figger he’s lost?” Someone asked.

‘Ranma Saotome, prepare to meet me!’ The boy thought as he walked off. ‘You can hide from our man to man battle no longer!’

“You’re an odd one, Saotome.” Nabiki commented as she watched Ranma, who was currently in his female form and wearing nothing but a pair of boxers, shift through an annoyed Akane’s closet.

“Well, I’m out of clothes and your all girls.” Ranma shrugged as she pulled out a pair of overalls and a black long sleeve shirt. “Which is were my curse comes in handy.”

“Why do you have to borrow my clothes?” Akane growled.

“Nabiki and Kasumi are taller than me.” Ranma shrugged as she pulled on the shirt and overalls. “You’re the closet match.”

“Ooh!” Nabiki cooed. “It is you!”

“It’s… perfect.” Akane added.

“A little tight in the chest though.” Ranma smirked as she said that, knowing it would get a rise out of Akane.

“Really?” Nabiki came over and examined the clothes. “How’s the waist?”

“Room to spare.” Ranma quoted himself.

“I’ll kill you!” Akane yelled and charged at him with a training sword.

“Like you could.” Ranma laughed and grabbed the sword and stuck out her other arm and held Akane back with one hand.

“Jerk!” Akane growled as she tried to hit him, but her reach was just a little too short.

“Although I suppose I could borrow a shirt from Nabiki.” Ranma said as he held the sword just out of Akane’s reach. “Her boobs are bigger.”

“Pervert!” Akane growled, Nabiki just frowned.

“Actually, come to think of it.” Ranma continued. “Figure wise, Nabiki is closer to me than you are. Probably a perfect match.”

“Lay it on thick Saotome.” Nabiki rolled her eyes.

“Oh come on Nabiki.” Ranma laughed. “You know your hot.”

“Your sick!” Akane growled as she gave up trying to hit Ranma and stormed off, probably to beat the stuffing out of the Ranma shaped dummy she had made.

“I know.” Nabiki smirked. “But coming from a girl, I don’t know quite how to take that.”

“Baby,” Ranma started to sing. “Your on my mind, all the time.”

“You’re really something Saotome.” Nabiki laughed.

“Your in my dreams…..” Ranma continued to sing. “Baby, You know how much I need you.”

“You’re a terrible singer, Saotome.” Nabiki stated.

“I’ll have you know I won a contest for my singing.” Ranma stopped singing.

“Worst voice award?” Nabiki said sarcastically.

“More like best presentation.” Ranma smirked. “I’ll sing the song I won the contest with.”

“And what would that be?” Nabiki asked.

“I’m too sexy for my shirt,” Ranma started dancing provocatively, running her hands along her body. “too sexy for my shirt.”

“Get real, Saotome.” Nabiki laughed as she left.

“So sexy it hurts!” Ranma continued before she started laughing. ‘The ice queen is starting to thaw.’

“Where is Furinkan High School?” The same boy that had stopped a boar asked a lone farmer.

“If it’s Tokyo, it’s five hundred miles south of here.” The farmer replied.

“You.” The boy grabbed another boy. “Where is Ranma Saotome?”

“Saotome?” The other boy repeated and looked over to where Ranma and Nabiki were talking and walking that way.

“Saotome!” the boy yelled and tried to squash Ranma with his umbrella.

“Whoa.” Ranma grabbed Nabiki and jumped back. “Is that how you greet a friend, Ryoga?”

“You? A friend?” Ryoga scoffed as his strike made a small crater. “Don’t make me laugh.”

“Someone you know, Saotome?” Nabiki asked coolly.

“Someone from the last school I went too.” Ranma answered. “So, Ryoga, what brings you to Nermia?”

“Just tell me one thing Ranma.” Ryoga said. “Why did you run out on our man to man fight?”

“Genma knocked me out.” Ranma replied. “You know how the old man is.”

“You should have fought back.” Ryoga growled.

“I did you dope.” Ranma laughed. “I’ll fight you now if you want, but don’t tell me you came all this way just for that?”

“Shut up, prepare yourself!” Ryoga yelled as he slashed at Ranma with his umbrella.

“Still a hot head I see.” Ranma smirked as he jumped over the strike and tapped a point on Ryoga’s arm.

“What?” Ryoga yelled as he tried to move his arm. “What did you do?”

“Temporary Paralysis.” Ranma smirked. “Now are you going to listen to me or do I have to paralyze you completely?”

“Grr, Die Saotome!” Ryoga picked up his umbrella with his other arm and slashed at Ranma again.

“We’ll do it the hard way then.” Ranma jumped over the umbrella and tapped the same point on Ryoga’s other arm, paralyzing it. “Both arms gone, now can we talk or am I gonna have to do your legs too?”

“There’s nothing to talk about!” Ryoga yelled as he kicked at Ranma, Ranma just sighed and simultaneously stepped to the side and hit the pressure point on Ryoga’s leg.

“C’mon Ryoga, what’s gotten into you?” Ranma asked as Ryoga fell to one knee. “If I remember right we were pretty good friends.”

“Get real.” Ryoga scoffed. “Like I’d be friends with you.”

“Well, this is no place to talk.” Ranma grabbed Ryoga and jumped into a tree, spring boarding off it onto a nearby house and jumping from that to the next one and so on.

“Come on Ryoga, what’s this really about?” Ranma asked Ryoga as they sat under a bridge watching the scenery go by. Well, Ranma was watching the scenery, Ryoga was just waiting for the paralysis to wear off.

“Why.” Ryoga said simply.

“Why what?” Ranma asked.

“Why did you leave.” Ryoga growled.

“……….. I had to.” Ranma replied.

“No you didn’t!” Ryoga yelled.

“Ryoga….. You knew I was going to leave eventually.” Ranma sighed. “You knew about the training trip.”

“……….” Ryoga stayed silent.

“That’s why you challenged me isn’t it?” Ranma asked. “To force me to stay.”

“I thought we were friends.” Ryoga growled.

“We were, and still are.” Ranma held out his hand. “If you want to be.”

“You… mean it?” Ryoga grasped Ranma’s hand firmly.

“This Saotome always goes by his word.” Ranma laughed. “Looks like the paralysis has worn off.”

“Your lucky Ranma.” Ryoga laughed. “I was just about to pound you.”

“Like you could.” Ranma smirked. “If I recall I was the better fighter.”

“Is that a challenge Ranma?” Ryoga smirked.

“You bet!” Ranma laughed as they faced off.

“Here I come!” Ryoga yelled and charged at Ranma.

The best friends fought the battle as best they could, not wanting to disappoint the other.

Authors’ Notes:

The reincarnated Ranma decided to become Ryoga’s best friend instead of enemy. Not even we are sure how that will turn out.
