CHAPTER 3: INVISIBLE WOUNDS

"Aren't I though?" Alice jumped up onto an old wooden chair holding her foot like some careless little child. "What would you like to do now?" Rain looked out of the shattered glass window to the right, it was cold and dark outside. "I don't give a shit" Alice muttered. "This has been enough for me..." Alice looked at the floor. "Ditto" Rain replied. A snake-like hiss could be heard outside by the brick wall in the alley. "I'm on it" Rain grabbed Alice's gun and tiptoed outside. She looked over to the wall, nothing was there. A claw-like hand grabbed her shoulder and threw her down a hole leading to the Raccoon City sewers. "Damn it!" Rain punched whatever had fallen down with her. "Get off of me..." she warned, feeling for her gun in the wet. "Hissss" the thing whispered.

It had picked up her gun. "Oh, sure.. like you could aim that" she rolled her eyes up into her head like she always had done. It had some intelligence just like the computer said, the gun fired only missing Rain's head. "Wow, aren't we good at targets" she kicked the poor thing in its gut and grabbed the gun from the ground, shooting it in its head.

"Revenge is a bitch eh?" Rain jumped up for the latter but missed and fell into the water. "Ah fuck" she mumbled. "You okay?" Alice's voice echoed from the surface, she was walking nearer to the opening. "Never better..." Rain scoffed. "I'm sure" Alice peered down into the hole. "My my Rain, what have you gotten yourself into this time?" she snickered. "Shut up and grab my hand" Rain stood up and reached out for Alice, Alice took hold of her hand but she ended up falling right in with Rain.

"Ohh, I just love your sense of god damn balance" Rain trudged through the tunnel. "And where are J.D's flares when I need them?" Rain felt around in her pocket, nothing. Not even a knife. "And I'm out of ammo" Rain rolled her eyes and threw down the gun. Alice was ahead of her and already near a grate. "Help me with this" she said tugging at the metal. "Wait a minute.. I gotta idea" Rain smiled evily, and stared down to a small glimmer of a metal object near the grate. Good! It was here. When she was sixteen, her and J.D would climb down into the sewers and cause general mischief. But one of Rain's favorite toys in particular was down here. "Dude, its still here..." Rain grinned picking up the rusted light torch.

Alice stood back as Rain grabbed the sparks mask and started to melt the bolts of the grate. "Done" she threw down the tools to the corner where they were and climbed through. "Stay here" her voice echoed. "No I'm not leaving you in there..." Alice jumped up into the tunnel and started climbing as well. "Damn you" Rain teased. Alice's boot got stuck on something. "A little help here" Alice tugged her foot, but the thing wouldn't budge. "I told you to stay there!" Rain growled and crawled back with great haste to Alice. She grabbed her foot and jammed it from the bolt.

Rain reached the end of the tunnel and stood up in an opening. She walked over to a rusted metal door and kicked it open. "Whoops" Rain mutered. They were both surrounded by at least 30 zombies. "Why do you keep doing that?!" Alice stomped. Alice threw a punch to a zombies head, it fell backward into a wall. Rain kicked one of its legs, breaking it. "Hissss" the thing whispered. "Oh god.. why can't they speak? It would be so much fun-" Rain disconnected its shoulder "-if they could just insult you and then you could kick their ass" she upper cut its neck, breaking it. "We can't take all these..." Alice looked around for another opening. "No shit" Rain kicked one again into a wall and ran over to Rain.

"Ah ha! the pipes!...again..." Alice climbed up onto a latter balancing herself onto a skinny little rusty pipe. "You think these things will hold?" Rain balanced herself up onto the latter. She still had little strenth. "I don't want to get bitten again!" Rain growled. All her cuts and bruises had disappeared. "Man.. whatever he put in me.. its working" she nearly fell off the pipe with her clumzyness. "Are you sure you still don't have it in you?" Alice asked grabbing her hand and pulling her up. "Positive" a zombie grabbed Rain's foot on the lower part of another pipe. She kicked it with great force and ran over to the other side.

"We need to get back to the mansion... " Alice hesitated, having flash backs of the weapons in the drawers. "Whats in that?" Rain jumped up onto a nearby latter and hoisted herself up onto the surface. "When I woke up that night they had tons and tons of viral weaponry" Rain grabbed her hand and helped her up to the street. They were in the center of Raccon City, it was cold and dark and the air was moist. "Theres a forest nearby, that will take us to the mansion" Rain ran down the street and through the dark trees. Alice followed. A young woman a little indentical to Alice peered out from a high tree at them. "And they are?" a mans deep voice asked. "Friends" Jill smiled.

*Its missing something.. I don't know what.. but it doesn't feel like my best somehow.. *Sniffle* can you help me find what it is?*
