The Sound of Music

Akane lay on her bed, doing nothing in particular. Bored, she stood up and Walked over to her Collection of music. "Hm...." She pulled one out and placed it in her CD player. Music started playing, and Akane softly sang with the words.

Late at night when all the world is sleeping'
I stay up and think of you,
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

At this Point, Ranma heard Music coming from Akane's room and decided to pester the tomboy. But her door was closed, so he headed outside and tried to enter by the Window. When he got there, he stared in at her as he hung from the roof.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

"Eh?"

`Who is SHE dreaming about?' wondered Ranma, a little upset as the jealousy bug bit him.

`The words to this song is practically speaking my emotions and feelings for me... If I stopped bugging him and ignore him, will he notice me?' Akane thought about this while fiddling with a picture frame and trying to put a picture inside.

Akane finally succeeded in shoving the picture in. It was a nice picture of her new family. She Placed it right next to the other two. The oldest one was one before her mother died. Everyone looked so happy. The next one was taken a few years after, her mother's death, when they accepted the fact that mother will always be there even if she wasn't there physically. The one she just shoved in was one that was taken recently, It showed a picture of Akane, Soun, Nabiki, Kasumi, Genma, and... Ranma. That picture no doubt, had shocked Ranma.

As Shocked as Ranma was, he continued to watch her.
Akane had started slipping a couple of other pictures into a big frame that separated each picture from the next. She paused and took a look at her work.

still I wait for the day, and the courage to say,
how much I love you.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Ranma looked at that frame too. His eyes widen as he saw what was there.
It was everyone. Mousse, Shampoo, Cologne, Ukyo, Ryoga, Nabiki, Kasumi, Dr. Tofu, Soun, Genma, Kuno, Kodachi (why the heck is SHE there?), Ranma, and Akane herself. He noticed Happosai wasn't here, no need to mention why. She had pictures of everyone in both forms (Ryoga in piggy form, but she doesn't need to know that), but the biggest of them was a picture of Ranma (Boy form), giving a goofy smile and posing.

`Now why would she have a picture of that?'

Smiling at the picture, Akane place hung the frame on the wall. While the other frame with the photo of her NEW family was placed on her desk. On the bedside drawer was a couple of her more favorite pictures. In one picture, there was a picture of Kasumi, Nabiki, and herself, all smiling with a park background. In another, there was one picture of.....

`Ryoga!?' thought Ranma. His heart got tighter when he saw that. Ryoga was in a battle stance... `Which was that?' Ranma's eyes narrowed together. `Why would I care if Akane has a picture of Ryoga by her bedside!?' He continued to look through the window. Then, he saw a third picture.....

It was a picture of the time when Ranma and Akane were doing the "Romeo and Juliet" play. Just when Akane pulled Ranma down and kissed him, of course, the tape was still there, but it couldn't be seen.

I still can't believe,
that you came up to me and said,
I love you,
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Ranma blushed, `She....... she kept..... a picture of that?'

~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I love you too,
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Akane looked out her window, `Does he care at all?'

*Whew* `That was close...' Ranma had sweat on his forehead...

Akane turn off her CD player whispered, "I love you...." she paused, "My Ranma..." she practically mouthed these last words... She turned off the light and went to bed.

Ranma realized something after he heard this, "Kami-sama!"
`I....... I love her too.' He then looked at her sleeping form, `but I'm not ready to tell her yet...... not right now.....' He smiled and hopped off the roof. `She's my tomboy...'
