Chapter one: Past and Future
-----------------------------
Four people were sitting in a secluded place. It looked like an extremely dark
cave. The only light was the gigantic
green flame they were standing around. The flame seemed to come from the ground
as you could see no wood or coal
on the hard rock floor of the cave. The people around it were around 8-9 feet in
height. You could see that they were
not people at all. All four of them were covered in exotic colours.
One of them had dark brown skin, by the way his body was shaped you could see
that he was male. He had flame red hair
that went down his back. He also had two big dark horns sticking out of each
side of his head, that travelled down his back. He wore no clothes,
he had hair that went from his bellybutton to his thighs which replaced any type
of pants or shorts. He looked like
a demon from a persons most fiery nightmare.
Another one had cyan coloured skin. She was obviously female as she wore no
clothes and her curvy body was almost fully
exposed if it hadn't been for her having something that looked like a blue
bikini covering her up. She had light blue
coloured hair that was done into several ponytails that travelled down to her
lower back. Her skin made her look like
she was covered in ice.
The third one was wearing a white priests' robe and bore an old mages' staff. He
had human like skin and very human
like features. He had a long white beard that travelled down to his abdomen. His
head was mostly bald except for the
back that had hair which travelled down to his shoulder blades. He looked like
an old wizard.
The last one was female and was wearing short white robes that were just enough
to cover all of her private areas.
She had golden hair that flowed down her back. She had pale human like skin and
a beautiful face. She had two big angel wings sticking out of her back,
currently folded. She also had a 7 foot tall golden harp at her side.
She was exactly what humans imagined as angels.
Then out of the darkness came another figure. It was about 10 feet tall and
looked like a dragon in shape. It had navy coloured scales all around it's body.
On its back it sported a pair of navy blue dragon wings. The face was that of a
dragon
just like every other part of its body. It stood on its hind legs as if normally
doing it. It came to the group of four
beings around the green flame, and spoke.
"So, has the search ended? Have we found our successors?" It spoke in a deep,
harsh voice. Its teeth glinted in the small
light that the green flame gave out.
"Patience Bahamut. The search is almost finished. We have greatly narrowed it
down." Spoke the old wizard. He spoke
in a very calm voice, filled with wisdom and experience.
"Narrowed it down? How greatly?" The dragon asked.
"The two chosen ones live in the earth realm. Both live in the continent known
as Asia. We are further narrowing down the
choice as we speak." Answered the wizard.
"I hope this is worth it. Trusting our powers within people that haven't yet
been born into this world." Said the demon,
he spoke in a very grim voice.
"They are the chosen ones Ifrit. This was meant to happen a long time ago. This
is our destiny as well as theirs."
The ice woman answered the demon's unasked question. She spoke in a mature and
graceful manner.
"Heh, I hope this is over soon. I'm tired of sitting here. Just because you
don't have any complaints Shiva does not mean
I haven't." Said the angel woman. She had a voice that basically radiated peace
and kindness. Although it sounded rather
irritated at the moment.
"Hmmm....interesting." Spoke the wizard all of a sudden. "Both are from the
country known as Japan. Many historical things
have happened there." he spoke while watching the bright green flame they stood
around.
"So you have found them?" asked the dragon impatient. "I do not like to be kept
waiting Ramuh."
"Yes, yes." Answered the wizard known as Ramuh. "I have indeed found them. Quite
lively they are. I believe they don't even
know they are born on the same day." the wizard chuckled at that.
"And what is so funny about that?" asked the ice nymph known as Shiva.
"Their paths will cross many times, far too many to count. They shall be friends
and enemies at the same time. At times they
will hate each other and at times they will be the greatest of friends. Quite a
life, that." Ramuh chuckled again.
"But how will they fight side by side if they are bitter enemies half the time?"
asked the fire demon known as Ifrit.
"Oh, they will fight side by side many times before their destinies reach them.
They will risk each others lives for
the other without question." answered Ramuh. He was smiling now, because he
greatly seemed to admire the two supposed
newborn babies.
"You seem to admire two children who have yet to be born Ramuh. May ask why?"
asked the dragon known as Bahamut.
"Oh, they are already born dragon prince. See for yourself." Answered Ramuh. He
then waved his free hand in a triangle
motion, and all of a sudden two faces were seen in the green flame. The faces of
two newborn, male humans.
"My aren't they cute." Remarked the half angel Siren. She seemed quite amused at
the two children that she saw.
"They are the ones who will receive our power? Are you sure Ramuh? We cannot
afford to make mistakes." said Ifrit bitterly.
"Quite. Do not worry yourself Ifrit. I am positive that these are indeed the
chosen ones." answered Ramuh calmly.
"Well then. We shall wait until they come of age. When we think they are ready,
we will send them on their journey.
The trip shall be quite hard on both of them, but they shall prevail." said
Bahamut confidently.
"Hmm...where shall they travel first? I'm just curious." asked Shiva.
"It has not yet been decided. The wanderers shall travel to many places and
different universes." answered the dragon prince.
"We shall await their awakening in hiding. They must not yet know of us. But if
there are situations that could involve
danger to the two, we must interfere. Understood?" asked Bahamut with a rather
comanding tone.
"We all understand that Bahamut. Relax. We shall not let anyone endanger the
wanderers." answered Ramuh calmly.
"May the whatever gods are watching bless you both, Ranma Saotome and Ryoga
Hibiki."

This was one of the worst days in the life of one Ranma Saotome, age six. He was
currently being tortured by the only
person that he trusted and loved. First he was not given any food and always
forced to train. And secondly was what
was happening to him right now.
His own father had tossed him into a pit full of cats. He was wrapped in fish
sausages to boot. This was the second time
he was in this pit of hell. The cats were everywhere. Biting him, clawing at
him, ripping apart his body and soul.
"Poppa please let me out! I promise I won't be bad anymore! I'll do anything you
say, I'll train harder than ever!
Just please let me out poppa! They're hurting me! It hurts so much! Please let
me out poppa! Don't you love me anymore?!"
But his shouts for were not heard. In fact the greedy and dishonourable martial
artist know as Genma Saotome was not even
close to where Ranma was. He had went away to get himself some food while his
son was submitted to the torture known as
the Cat-Fist training.
"Poppa! Momma! Anyone! Please help me! Why does everyone hate me?! Why won't
anyone help me?! Please let me out! It hurts
so much! Please! Please! Anyone! Help!" Help however he did not receive. As for
the 5 beings who were supposed to protect
him...
"Why are we not helping him?! He's dying!" Shouted Bahamut, furious.
"We cannot. This is not our jurisdiction . I know how you must feel but trust me
when I say he will survive this." answered
Ramuh. Rather calmly considering the situation.
"How can you just stand there while he dies?!" came the furious shout from
Ifrit.
"Calm yourself Ifrit. He will indeed survive this. Although this event will
cause him severe mental trauma." said Shiva.
Trying to calm the atmosphere.
"How could his father do this to him? How can anyone be so horribly cruel to
their own child." Siren was currently at the
brink of tears.
"We must but watch, and hope for the best." came from a surprisingly calm
Bahamut. "I will not let him die."

A boy wearing a yellow bandanna with yellow stripes was currently walking around
an unknown place. A dark forest which
was surrounded by darkness. This was Ryoga Hibiki and he was currently facing
one of the worst results of having the world's
worst sense of direction.
"Whe-where am I? Where is everyone? Mom! Dad! Is anyone there?!" he shouted,
hoping that someone would hear him.
But no one could hear him. He was in a place secluded from humans.
"I-I'm scared...W-wh-what's gonna happen to me?" He spoke to no one but himself.
"Poor boy. To experience such a thing at such a young age is traumatic." Said
the thunder god Ramuh.
"If he were older there would not be a problem but...Why does he have such a
curse I wonder?" Asked Ifrit aloud.
"We cannot dispel a family curse from here. Direct contact is needed. That is
something we are not allowed to do." Said
Bahamut. The dragon.
"I hope he will be okay. As soon as he is older we will cure him of this." Said
Shiva, hope in her eyes.
"Are the Wanderers destined to live hard lives?" Said Siren. Not really asking
anyone but herself.

If one were to be in the west mountain of Nepal, there would be a good chance of
encountering two wandering martial
artists. An old man around his late thirties and his son, at the age of ten.
These two martial artists were better known
as Genma and Ranma Saotome, the only two practitioners of The Saotome school of
Anything-Goes martial arts.
The two were currently trudging through the hellish mountains of Nepal. At least
they seemed hellish to the young Ranma.
For the last three days he has not had any food, only a small amount of water.
While his father has eaten two to three
meals each day, stealing Ranma's food in the process.
"Pop, why the heck did you have to drag me all the way to Nepal of all places?!
I mean, travelling is okay but...what the
hell made you think hiking though the mountains of Nepal would be good for
training?!" The ten year old heir to the
Saotome sect of Anything-Goes martial arts was indeed frustrated and irritated.
Lack of food and sleep does that to people.
"Quit your whining boy! This is good training. For me this is an easy walk while
you're barely catching up. Why, in my
younger days we would think of something like this as easy!" Came Genma's
arrogant response. Although what he was telling
was true. *Brrr...training with the master was a nightmare!*
"Easy for you to say! I haven't eaten a single thing in three days! I'm having a
hard time fasting, while you stuff your
goddamn fat belly!" Shouted Ranma in extreme frustration. He was really ticked
off now.
"I said quit your whining! In my old days we didn't get a bite to eat or a blink
of sleep until our master was satisfied
with us!" Retorted Ranma's father. This on the other hand was a lie. *The master
wanted to drink sake so often...we always stole
some food and ate ourselves full. But no need to tell the boy that!*
"Whatever pops. No matter what you say, we're gonna take a break soon. I'm
hungry as hell." Ranma really didn't like this
situation. But if his father could do it, so could he. Speaking of not liking
the situation...
"What kind of parent is he?! Does he not care for his son's well being at all?
And he tells lies to make him work harder.
Why that rotten little bastard!" Was so 'nicely' put by the flame demon known as
Ifrit.
"Calm yourself Ifrit. I do not approve of this mans actions any more than you
do. But I never said that the road to becoming
a Wanderer for the young Wild Horse was going to be easy." Was put by Ramuh.
"Then must they both live through such pain? Physical and emotional suffering of
this level is too much." Asked Shiva.
"Ryoga was born with strength and power. His ancestors were of the werewolf
clan. For that reason every male born male in
the Hibiki family is born with unnatural strength and endurance. Ranma on the
other hand comes from a different type of family.
Every Saotome in world is born with unique fighting potential. Therefore he must
train extremely hard." came the intelligent
remark from Ramuh.
"May the gods bless them both." Said Siren, letting herself known.
"I think the demons may curse them as well, although not in a bad way. They do
not want this world to end anymore than
we or the Gods want to." Said Ifrit as matter of fact, smirking.
------------------------------
Life was not good for one Ryoga Hibiki. He was currently lying in his bed at his
home, which is a rather rare occasion.
His eyes were read and bloodshot, probably from crying. His pillow was also wet
from recent tears.
"Mom...Dad...where are you? I miss you so much...I wish I could see you
again..." He whispered slowly, his voice tired, breaking from depression. Ryoga
has not seen his parents in almost a whole year. Every time he goes to school he
ends up
at home a few weeks later. At that time his parents are never home.
"This is so sad..." whispered Siren aloud. "To not see your parents for such a
long time..." She couldn't imagine that kind
of suffering. She had not seen her parents in ages, literally, but they were
long dead.
"His tears even bring sorrow to my soul." Said Ifrit aloud.
"Indeed they do...indeed they do..." Came softly from Ramuh.
------------------------------
"Pop, when we get out of here I'm going to kick your fat ass so hard you won't
be able to sit!!!" This came from a 13 year
old Ranma Saotome. The boy seemed to be quite angry and frustrated, his teeth
seemed to clatter as well. Not to mention
the fact that his face was blue.
Maybe the ice and snow that surrounds him is a good answer. Currently, Genma and
Ranma Saotome are walking through the
freezing mountains in Siberia, one of the coldest places on the face of the
earth.
"Be q-q-quiet b-boy. T-this is g-g-good for t-training. Now s-shut u-up and
f-f-follow me." Genma could barely talk because
of the cold. He was freezing and it was his own fault. *Maybe coming here wasn't
such a good idea after all. I'm going to
freeze to death if I stay here.*
While Genma was worried about the cold Ranma was planning on which of his
fathers bones he should break. It was one of his old
mans stupid ideas to come to this place. "It's cold as bitter sweet fuck out
here." Words like these came naturally to Ranma.
Although he didn't swear often, he cursed on many occasions. *You'll get yours
old man, you'll get yours...Goddamn bastard* He promised
to himself, really hating his father at the moment.
"Well, well. Quite surprising that the he took the boy to Siberia. It is on of
my favourite places on this world." Said the
ice nymph Shiva, currently in the same deep cave as always, looking into the
giant green flame.
"What if he dies out there? He could easy meet his demise because of frostbite."
said Ifrit, looking really worried. He knew
how cold Shiva's preferred places were.
"Do not worry yourself Ifrit. He has my blessing, therefore he has is highly
resistant to the powers of the Ice element.
That includes any type of frost. From a chilly pool of water to a place like
Antarctica."
"But why does he look as if he's freezing?" Asked Siren, speaking up.
"If he weren't cold at all then others would become suspicious. Therefore it
looks like he is cold, he even feels the cold,
but it does no affect his body in the least.

The five beings that were secretly watching when Ranma Saotome and Ryoga Hibiki
were born. The five beings that were
watching and praying for their health whenever something bad happened. The five
beings that blessed the two of them with
their power. The five beings that currently had huge sweat drops on their heads
as they watched Ryoga attacking Ranma over
a piece of bread.
"You will pay Ranma Saotome for the insult of the bread!" Yelled the 15 year old
Ryoga Hibiki a.k.a. The Human Tank.
"What the heck did I do?! It's just a damned piece of bread. First come first
serve!" Shout back Ranma Saotome a.k.a.
The Speeding Bullet.
"How can the two boys fight over something as simple as a piece of bread?"
Wondered Bahamut aloud.
"It seems young Ryoga is not used to having rivals, therefore is angry and
frustrated." Answered Ramuh.
"Personally I think it's stupid. But Ryoga is prone to violence, even though he
has a pure and kind soul. Ranma is not that
much better. He may not be as violent, but because of his arrogance he gets
challenged often. And he never backs down. Ever."
"It will be interesting to see what happens...the time is almost there." Said
Shiva.
"Quite. We will watch what happens." Commented Ifrit.
"I pray that they will be safe." Said Siren with a soft voice, her hands in a
praying gesture
"Safe from what?" Asked Ifrit. Not quite knowing what she meant.
"From themselves..." She answered
--------------------------
The cave, the place that five supernatural beings were currently inhabiting.
This cave is also known as the Cave Of Legends
or the Cave Of Fantasy. The five beings that inhabited it were: The flame demon
prince Ifrit, the ice nymph Shiva,
the thunder god Ramuh, the half goddess half demon Siren, and last but not least
the dragon king Bahamut.
The five beings were currently standing in a circle around the giant green flame
that lit the cave, known as the Spirit Flame.
They were currently watching Ranma Saotome's and Ryoga Hibiki's life in Nerima.
From the beginning to the end.
Beginning at Jusenkyo; the Chinese amazons, the engagements, school, everyday
problems, fights, challenges, the love
potions, everyday sexual frustrations, rejections and acceptances, the black
mail, getting lost at the worst moment,
love interests, the Hiryuu Shoten Ha, emotional based Ki-blasts, the old ghoul's
and old goat's persistence, the bashings,
Kirin, Toma, Ranma's mother, Herb, Ryu Kumon and the forbidden techniques, more
craziness, Ranma's mother's acceptance.
This is currently where they were in the two teenagers life times. Both Ranma's
and Ryoga's fate's were leading them on the
way to defeat the phoenix god known as Saffron. That indeed was what were to
happen, but the way things were to change would
not quite suit the beings wishes.
It is said that Ranma defeats Saffron while the phoenix is not a full power.
That had to be changed. And that was what they
were currently doing.
"How much will we change things?" Asked Siren. Surprising the others by actually
starting a conversation for once, instead
of finishing it.
"Hmmm...first of all if Saffron is not at full power the Wanderers will not
awaken. Their true potential will not be recognized.
Secondly we must slightly change the way their love lives are going..." Answered
Bahamut.
"What do you mean change their love lives?" Asked Siren surprised.
"If I am correct both of the boys love one Akane Tendo, a girl not worthy of
their attention, nor ours. If one of them were to marry
marry her, he would in the end meet his demise by her hands." Answered Bahamut,
dead serious.
"Do not worry yourself Bahamut. Ryoga does not really love her that way anymore,
only as a friend. As for Ranma he both
loves her and hates her at the same time. To him she's both the love of his life
and also the person he despises the most"
Answered Ramuh, always there with the info.
"So, we must see which feeling is stronger correct?" asked Shiva, already
knowing the answer.
"Yes, it is time for Ranma Saotome and Ryoga Hibiki to embrace their destinies.
And their current loved ones are not a part
of it." Answered Bahamut.
"I'm just curious but who are the ones that will be the Wanderers' mates in the
end?" asked a curious Siren, she was always
worried about the martial artists' love lives.
"Same old Siren. Ranma's mate is actually a part of him, he just does not know
that. As for Ryoga, his mate is a girl
he will meet in another dimension, a girl born with magic powers and has a
rather good connection to beings like us." answered
Ramuh Seemingly knowing the answer to everything.
"So, what now?" Asked Shiva.
"Now, we watch. And hope for the best." Answered Bahamut, he obviously didn't
like his own answer.
--------------------------
Currently, Ranma, Ryoga, Mousee, Genma and Plum were on their way to
China. Although they didn't really know what
to expect some knew that danger was ahead.
"I have a really bad feeling about this." Whispered Ranma to himself.
"Tell me about it..." Answered Ryoga pretty much to himself.
Too bad they didn't know how true they were...
--------------------------
Next Time: The Wanderers and co. get to Phoenix mountain where they meet a child
Saffron. But instead of the regular thing like in the manga, things happen
rather differently. *cough* Saffron at full power *cough*
Authors notes: Yay! Posted the first chapter of this fic. R&R please! I really

R&R please! I really
need it.
