Chap ter 6: A Step Behind the Game

I knew I really did have a problem on my hands with Dr. Tofu. How could I date or even spend time with him if he were to be completely incoherent the entire time? At first I really had just thought of him as a silly man who liked to amuse me, but really, after a while, I had gotten the jist of the situation. Now, I had an idea of how to fix this. If only I could shock him out of the situation. Of course, that may have compromised the position of a decent, wholesome girl like myself, but I was determined and obviously not getting any younger. So that afternoon, I made a little trip to the leather and etc. shop to pick up a little something for the Doctor.

He was retrieving a cup of tea from Uncle Saotome when I snapped my whip against my thigh lightly. Not yet had I slipped into my little number, but he got the idea fast enough. The tea, left forgotten on the presented tray as he drifted towards the sound of my voice. "Kasumi?" And that started the fogged up glasses. "Is that you, Kasumi?"

I stepped forward and lifted his chin with my index finger. "Hai." The man was tingling in my presence which pleased me deeply. "Who else would it be, silly? I have a surprise for you. Wanna see?" I was starting to toy with his collar.

"O-okay." He turned to his skeleton, Betty, and said, "Mr. Saotome, can you please reschedule my appointments for this afternoon?" The panda sweatdropped and held up a sign reading, "OVER HERE, FOOL!"

With that, he left his clinic for the hotel room I had rented for my little fashion show. I was hoping that this would work. It was the best I could do and the last straw if he didn't snap out of this state of idiocracy. Then marriage wouldn't be a problem for me at all. For a woman fast approaching thirty, this was a valuable asset.
