He noticed

me two weeks into my Junior year. By then I had a small circle of aritificial friends.
The kind that wanted to be with you for your looks, not because of your personality.
This was fine with me, because friends, no matter how fake their smiles, meant you belonged somewhere
didn't it?

I had perfected my new face over the summer, blue eyes darkened by just the right amount of eyeliner.
Lips pouty, shimmering like candy with a fresh coat of gloss.
My wardrobe was still something to be achieved, but I made due with what
clothes I had gathered out of the back of my closet.

Shedding off the baggy sweats, crawling into a clingy pair of jeans and a tight shirt--everyone suddenly knew my name.

Hi, Taylor, how's it goin'? Did you lose weight over the summer? Lookin' good!

Hey girl, why haven't you called me? We have so much to catch up on--text me later!

And for those who didn't know my name, the ones who had barely aknowledged my existence,

they
wanted
to
now .

It was great, but then none of that seemed to matter, the day
he
smiled at me.
