[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
The day went by
slowly, like all Fridays do. The anticipation of the weekend seemed to make the hands on the clock
move even slower. I sat in class, there, but not really.
My mind was wandering to places I knew it shouldn't be.
Like Seth and I.
Were we really good together?
His friends accepted me without question.
Sometimes, they even looked at him
enviously.
Pride would swell inside me when I'd catch those looks,
and the New Taylor would rise up, ignoring the sudden
awkwardness that was thratening to engulf me as they looked me up and down,
and words, words that came from somewhere inside her brain,
they fell out of my mouth
as naturally as if
I said things like that all the time.
“Like what you see?”
They would smile, nudge eachother.
We like.
