However, they knew what they wanted. The older brother, Damin Wiley, was on the pursuit of strength and power. The eighteen year-old dropped out of high school much to the dismay of his mother-
“Damin Wiley what the hell? Why can’t you and your thick-headed little brother be like smart children and finish high school?” their mother had yelled.
“Because mom, we’ve got stuff to do!” the younger brother, Roc Wiley, interjected.
“What about school? Your older sister is off at college! Why won’t you be like her?” their mother argued.
“Like Roc said, we have other important things to do. Our destiny doesn’t lie in our becoming educated like Roquelle or protecting our country like our dad, we’ve got to find it,” Damin told his mother, heading towards the door. Their little sister, Damita Wiley, was looking in on the argument as their mother turned red in raw anger.
The extremely strong woman picked up the nearest chair and threw it at her sons, who promptly ran out the door in time to miss the furniture. “Don’t think about showing your God-damned faces around here anymore!” she shouted, with unmistakable tears in her eyes as she said her unexpected good bye to her only two sons.
The bottom line was, their mother despite her upset over her little broken family being broken further, did what she felt was the right thing- letting her son’s experience the world.
Outside of the city they lived in, there had been nothing but country sides with farmland and a random cluster of trees every once in awhile. If they were lucky, they would find a small spring or lake where they could set up camp until they headed off again. The Land of The Eternal Summer* was unmistakably hot all year round, just as the name would suggest, and perfect for farmland and few trees. There were hardly any towns as the boys made their way across the country side, more like small outposts where you could lodge for a night, get food and supplies, and be on your way the next morning.
Like it was mentioned before, Roc said they had things to do. Roc was aware of Damin’s pursuit of power, but he had no idea why, and that suited him just fine. The sixteen year-old’s aspiration was to find girls unlike any they had seen in their hometown, a very understandable aspiration for a teenage boy. A cocky one at that.
After their days of walking, they began to see a huge compound looming in the distance.
“Hey, do you think it’s a hotel? I hope so because I haven’t slept in a bed in days, and I miss one!” Roc sighed dreamily, imagining a soft mattress to fall asleep on.
“It’s part of your endurance training you know,” Damin reminded his younger sibling as they got closer to the place.
There was a huge two story main building, two other small buildings off on either side of the compound, and their appeared to be a building behind the main building.
“I already have to endure being without shoes, do I have to endure holding my bladder too? Because I desperately need to use it,” Roc questioned, although he didn’t wait for an answer before running to the building.
His older brother sighed, before rushing off after his brother, who just recklessly ran onto someone’s property. And it was the wrong person’s property.
Well, one of those daughters, the middle child Rita Waterton, had just got done training vigorously with her father, Mizu Waterton. And after that intense workout, she decided to take a cool bath so she could get clean
and cool off from the intense heat that early afternoon.
Just as the sixteen year-old heiress got to relax, however, there was a loud scream from the front of the main building. With her samurai-quick reflexes, she jumped on the chance to hurry up and towel off, so she could get dressed and check out what was going on.
After the samurai’s delay, she was met with the scene of her boyfriend Chris battle-ready and posed to fight this messy brown-haired boy. The boy looked terrified and had no weapon, so she decided to dismiss the battle.
“Chris, stop. The thing looks harmless, I’m sure he’s not an enemy,” the female commanded her older, yet inferior in rank, boyfriend.
“He’s a trespasser non the less, we need to get rid of him. He might even be a spy from one of our enemy clans, how about that? He could just be pretending to be naive,” Chris argued with his girlfriend.
“I doubt it,” Rita countered, looking at the messy trespasser.
“Look, I just need to use a toilet, do you have one?” Roc asked desperately, trying to hold his urgency in front of the tan-skinned beauty. He definitely didn’t want to make a fool out of himself in front of this girl, she was absolutely gorgeous. But, he wondered how did the other guy fit in the equation?
She pointed to an old fashioned outhouse near the bath house and said, “Yeah, you can use that one back there.”
Non clans members weren’t technically allowed on the premises, but she felt bad for the guy and actually thought he was kind of cute, in a scruffy kind of way. Unlike her strictly straight-laced boyfriend Chris.
“Ri…” Chris warned.
“As soon as he gets back, out he goes,” Rita lied, wanting to keep the guy here for just awhile. But if her father were to find out, she’d be dead and a traitor.
Shortly after Roc was gone, there was another older, more fit looking trespasser standing in front of Rita and
Chris. “Who are you?”
“I’m Damin Wiley… older brother of Roc Wiley… have you seen a sloppy-looking kid who ran through here claiming he had to pee?” Damin explained, Rita and Chris tilting their heads in wonder.
“You wait here until he comes back, and then you’re both out of here,” Chris ordered, the point of his sword resting just before Damin’s nose. He whispered discreetly to Rita, “They are a bunch of weirdoes…”
“Nonsense, they’re cool!” she exclaimed. She faced Damin and held out her hand, “Hi, I’m Rita Waterton of the Waterton Clan, and this is my boyfriend Chris, disciple and next heir.”
“I’m Damin Wiley, like I said before, adventurer and son of a war hero,” Damin replied, making himself sound more important than he actually was. In reality, Damin was part of a family of five that wasn’t all that well off, and just so happened to have a dad who was fighting in the war that was against the Summer and Winter countries.
“You look old enough to be in the war yourself,” Chris commented.
“I’m only eighteen, they’re not recruiting younger than twenty-one unless absolutely necessary,”
“Yeah, I know that,” Chris grumbled.
“Sorry he’s kind of… sore about that whole war thing,” Rita apologized.
“Rita… don’t get into this with strangers,”
“Heey! I’m back!” Roc called, running up to the group that was just standing plain in front of the main house.
“Good, now go,” Chris ordered, pushing the brothers towards the gate. “You’ve over-stayed your welcome anyways.”
“Well that’s just nice and hospitable, you let us in and kick us out,” Roc complained.
“Because you don’t need to be here, this is a clan. Clans only stay within the clan, and it’s a lot of work to even become an honorary member of a clan. Family… is something that you don’t betray- goodbye,” the stoic boy spoke before shoving the brother’s out of the front gates and shutting the door.
“But please! It’s getting dark and we need a place to stay for the night,” the younger brother begged, in a very shameless way.
“Chris!” the tan beauty exclaimed. “I’m sure it won’t hurt a little to let them stay…” she pouted, in such an adorable way her boyfriend couldn’t resist.
“…And where exactly would they stay that your father won’t know about?” he questioned, hand still on the gate handle.
“They can hide out in my room, I guess,” she suggested, before shoving Chris aside and opening the gate again. “As long as you guys can be quiet, and stay in there at all times. Most likely my dad won’t just walk in my room… at least not anymore… so I think it’ll be okay.”
“Awesome!” Roc exclaimed, before she clamped her hand over his mouth.
“Woah- wait… they’re staying in your room?” Chris questioned.
“Yeah, why not?”
“Well for one thing it’s just… improper to have strange men in your room. Plus, well… I’ve never even been in your room before…”
“Because you’re a strange man, Chris,” she joked, before leading the brothers around the back so she could sneak them into her bedroom. Chris, using his common sense, decided to follow along.
“Look, you saying you’re starving repeatedly isn’t going to help the situation. You wanted to stay here, you pleaded the girl to let you stay, and quite honestly if all this involves you then I don’t know why I’m sitting here starving along with you. I should leave and let you be, quite frankly. Besides, I’m not the one that has a crush on her in the first place,” Damin ranted.
“But have you looked at her? She is like drop-dead sexy. Rita is that sexy caramel color, with that jet black hair and those dark brown eyes… and she works out, have you seen her abs? Everything about her is pretty, and the fact that she could easily kick my ass is such a turn on,” Roc explained.
Their conversation stopped as they heard Rita and Chris come in the room carrying two plates of food.
“I snuck you guys some dinner from the kitchen, eat up!” she announced, before handing Roc one plate and Damin the other. “Now I’m going to go change into my pajamas, be right back,” the young heiress said before leaving the room with a night gown draped over her arm.
A few seconds passed before Chris cleared his throat and began to speak, “Now I want to warn you two: no funny business. Rita is my girlfriend and future wife… and if either of you lays a hand on her inappropriately, well lets just say you’ll be missing a vital organ depending on the severity of the crime,” the brunette warned.
“Vital organ?” Roc questioned, confused as usual.
“Please… don’t use complicated words with my brother. You’ll just make his brain overwork itself,” Damin replied.
“I can see that,” Chris gritted out, rubbing his forehead in a frustrated manner.
“Hey!” Roc exclaimed, upset.
“Let’s put it like this: don’t fuck with my girlfriend or you’ll regret it immensely,”
“…Immensely?”
“ YOU’LL REGRET IT A LOT!” Chris shouted, losing his cool with the slightly slow brother. He’s never had a very long fuse, and it doesn’t take much to make the boy blow. Roc was a serious test of his patience.
“Alright! Damn… way to get all defensive over a girl who doesn’t even act like she likes you…” Roc muttered, unfortunately, loud enough for Chris to hear.
“Rita loves me, thank you very much,” Chris argued.
“I’ve never even seen her kiss you. She just kind of drags you around like the guy who she just has to hang out with despite the fact she doesn’t want to,”
Before Damin had the chance to stop his brother from getting them kicked out of the only place they have to stay, someone came in the bedroom that turned out to not be Rita. Instead, it was a taller, slightly darker girl with green-hazel eyes and short dark brown hair.
“Hello! Who are you two?” she immediately questioned as she closed the door and bee-lined straight to where the brothers were sitting in the huge room.
“Aqua, these are just some visitors of Rita’s. Pay them no mind,” Chris responded immediately.
“Hell, I’d be a fool not to pay them any mind! Rita has boys in her room! But don’t worry I won’t tell my father… if I get to stay up here with you all for awhile,” Aqua responded.
Chris was stuck, and these intruders were snowballing into a major headache for him. He agreed for Aqua to stay as long as she didn’t make too much noise to warrant their father to come up here. Beaming, the elder sister of Rita squeezed in between the brothers, already clad in her pink kimono for sleeping in.
Rita finally came back in the room, wearing a sky blue silk gown with a matching floral patterned robe and looked at everyone sitting on the cushions surrounding her small coffee table. “What are you doing in here Aqua?”
“I see something I like and I wanna stay… if you don’t mind little sis,” she explained, before clinging to Damin whom had already finished eating.
“Sure, I don’t mind! Now it’ll be even more like a real sleepover… should we go get Bubbles, Misty, and Natalia too?” Rita suggested.
Chris was vigorously waving his arms and shaking his head, before Aqua said, “Nah, five people is fine.”
“So what game are we going to play?” Roc questioned. “A sleepover needs games-”
“A sleepover also needs sleep, which we’ll need to get since we’re getting an early start tomorrow Roc,” Damin pointed out, and Chris nodded in agreement.
“Nonsense! Let’s play Uno!” Rita exclaimed, putting out a pack of Uno cards.
“Actually I have a better game to play. We take turns saying stuff we’ve never done, and if you’ve done it, you have to take a drink-”
“Aqua, we’re not drinking age you know,” Chris pointed out flatly.
“I forgot, spoilsport.” she sighed. “Well alright, here’s an age-old classic: spin the bottle!”
Chris put his face in his palms, silently steaming while he wished he could kill his future sister-in-law. He did not want either of those boys kissing his Rita, or worse… he didn’t want to end up kissing one of those boys! He prayed Aqua wouldn’t be that cruel.
The elder sister took the decorative vase from off the small table everyone had been sitting around, and spun it. Everyone made their own silent prayers on who they did (or didn’t) want it to land on, but only fate would deal the hand tonight. The vase slowed to a stop in front of Rita and Damin.
Now Damin knew he was in a pretty sticky situation, since both his brother and Chris were giving him dirty looks. He truly didn’t want to kiss his brother’s first real crush, because he knew Roc was picky about his girls so it wasn’t too often he found a girl he liked this much. On the other hand, that girl happened to be the future wife of a deadly samurai heir. And Damin liked his vital organs where they were… being vital.
“You know, I just remembered, I’d better be going to bed. I need to get an early start tomorrow and such,” Damin excused himself, before crawling over to the little pallet on the other end of the room.
“Lets spin again,” Rita offered, before Aqua could argue about him just getting out of the kiss like that. Rita wanted to kiss the cute, young stranger Roc, not his brother. Not that his brother wasn’t cute and all, but Roc just had that fun, exciting, and dangerous edge the girl had been wishing for. She wished Chris was more like Roc.
As they spun again, the vase had slowed to a stop right in front of Aqua and Chris.
“No… way,” the two both remarked before Aqua crawled over to join her new crush on the pallet, snuggling up with him.
“Are you eighteen?” she questioned, quietly.
“Yeah,” he spoke, eying the girl warily.
“Why don’t we go somewhere a little more private then? Like my room?” Aqua suggested.
He shrugged. “Why not?” Damin agreed. The older brother had always been a bit of a ladies man as well, just like his father. He could just about look at a girl and they’d just jump in the bed with him. Sure, Aqua seemed to be a couple years older than him or so, but that’s how he liked his girls, older. He hoped that she didn’t think this would mean he really liked her all that much though.
Rita, Roc, and Chris looked at the two exit the room, and prayed that he wouldn’t be seen by anyone. But considering all of the sister’s bedrooms were so close to each other, Rita figured they’d be okay.
“Now, this is for all the marbles, I.e. me. So let’s spin!” Rita proclaimed dramatically before spinning the small vase.
The boys watched closely as it spun around and around, as though this were the determining factor for everything ever to occur with the girl. Ever.
Eventually, it slowed to a stop, pointing to the clan heir Chris, much to Roc and Rita’s disappointment.
Rita sighed, and walked over to her boyfriend, giving him a less-than-enthusiastic kiss on the lips, which was still enough to satisfy him because he finally got to kiss his girlfriend, meaning that Roc didn’t. So it’s all good.
She yawned, before announcing, “I suppose it’s about time to get to sleep, we have to get early starts to our morning as samurai, and plus I’d like to see you and your brother off, Roc.”
“Well I appreciate it!” he grinned, before giving Chris a look.
“Where is he sleeping?” Chris questioned.
“In here with me, silly. That’s part of hiding him out, you know,” she explained.
“Then I’m staying too, I don’t trust him in here alone with you, who knows what he might try to do to you while you’re sleeping?”
“That’s exactly why I didn’t want you in here…” Rita muttered under her breath, before agreeing, “Okay, you can both stay in here with me.”
She climbed in her queen sized bed that was covered with white and blue blankets and pillows, much the same color as the gown she adorned. Rita sat directly in the middle before noticing that both of them had already taken their shirts off.
‘Mmm… see this is why I like sleepovers!’ she thought to herself, before giggling.
In comparison, she had to admit to herself that Chris was hands down the more physically fit one, although not surprisingly since samurais trained constantly. Still, Roc looked like he did his fair share of working out. She pretended to not be paying attention as they took their pants off, both now in nothing but boxer shorts, but hell when you’ve hardly seen any men in your life at all, you’re definitely gonna check out two nearly-naked guys in your bedroom. She just didn’t want to gawk at them stupidly. Finally, she decided when it came down to it in her moment of pervertedness, Chris had the better upper half, and Roc had the better lower half, heheheh.
“Ok, so Chris you can sleep over here, and Roc you can sleep over here,” she ordered, motioning to either side of her, before clapping her hands, turning the lights off.
Everything was silent afterwards, as sleep finally fell upon them all.
“Good morning!” she greeted both of them. “…You guys don’t look like you slept very well, why is that?”
“Well… it’s hard to sleep when your girlfriend was saying a certain-boy’s-name in her sleep half the night! That could only insinuate at whatever kinds of things you were dreaming about Rita,” Chris explained, rather upset.
“So you’re upset because of the kinds of things I dream about? Sure I may be a girl but I’m a teenage girl so I’m sorry if my hormones get the better of me-”
“It’s not that, it’s only because you were dreaming about someone who’s not me, your future husband!”
Roc grinned. He didn’t know he had that much of a impact on her, plus it pleased him that she didn’t get all super girly and embarrassed at the fact that she has dirty dreams too… because hell, all people of all ages and genders do. Still, hearing her moan his name in her sleep was enough to keep him up… but he wasn’t mad about any of it, except the obvious effect it had on his body though. Just peachy.
“Ri-ri, I’ll be right back,” Roc announced before heading to the bathroom that was adjacent to her room.
“Are you sure you want to leave here?” the brunette questioned, giving her an unsure glance. “You have a clan to run, they need you here.”
“They’ll have to live without me, because I refuse to be tied down to this place, and confined to these four walls my whole life. I wanna get out and experience things and meet new people, and have some fun for once! Plus… I don’t want to leave you just yet,” she explained, taking Roc’s hands in her own as they gazed into each others eyes for a moment. “I think yesterday was one of the most fun days of my life, and I don’t want it to just be that one day, I want there to be more days!”
“Seriously?” he exclaimed. “Well in that case, every day’s gonna be an adventure Rita, and we’re gonna live it to the fullest, okay?”
“Okay!” she giggled, before they met up with Damin at the gate.
“So are you ready?” Damin asked the two.
“Very,” they both responded, as they headed off towards the Winter Land with nary a backward glance at the Waterton compound.

The Brand-New Five Heroes!
Chapter One: The Sleepover
Two brothers walked down a country road, path clear but yet unclear of where they were going to go. Sure, the brothers could just keep walking along this road, hoping it would take them where they needed to go, but they didn’t know where they wanted to go.Chapter One: The Sleepover
However, they knew what they wanted. The older brother, Damin Wiley, was on the pursuit of strength and power. The eighteen year-old dropped out of high school much to the dismay of his mother-

Hanging high in the compound flew the black and blue flag of the Waterton Clan. The Waterton Clan was the only clan that housed only female daughters, with unfortunately no male heirs. Night fell on the compound, and Roc could hear the clan gathered downstairs for dinner with his ear to the wooden floor. “God I wish I was down there, I’m starving!” the younger brother groaned.“Look, you saying you’re starving repeatedly isn’t going to help the situation.

In the morning however, while Rita awoke refreshed and cheery, the two boys still looked slightly tired.“Good morning!” she greeted both of them.

While Chris was taking his bath, Rita was putting her plan into action. She had been thinking about this plan before she went to sleep last night, and decided after the argument she and Chris had, she was going to go through with it. She took a piece of stationary and wrote him a brief letter before leaving it on her bed and heading out of her room with a black book bag and Roc in tow.“Are you sure you want to leave here?” the brunette questioned, giving her an unsure glance.
