Cupid's Secret

Miyukizi has always been there for Don. She was made to serve. Yes, “made”. You see, Miyukizi wasn't human at all. She was a tenshi-chi. Don's late wife made her. She knew she was going to die. She didn't want her husband to be alone.

Over time, Miyukizi began to develop humanlike qualities. Don liked her for it.

“You're more alive,” he said. She blushed at him.

“Is that a bad thing?” she asked.

“No,” Don said. “I like it.” His secretary didn't know what to say. It didn't take long for Miyukizi to fall for her boss.

Too bad he hadn't noticed.

At first, this didn't bother her. It wasn't her place after all. She was just the secretary. That kind of relationship wouldn't be right. But you can't help how you feel.

Today was going to be different. Miyukizi stood watching Don at his desk. Why did this feel so hard? She didn't know what to say. Don happened to glance up at her.

“Yes?” he asked. She didn't speak or move.

“What do you want?” he asked. His secretary lifted her chin.

“I like you!” she blurted out. There was a pause. Miyukizi shifted her eyes away from him. Don blinked.

“Huh?” he asked. His secretary shook her head. Her boss doesn't move.

“You… Like… Me?” he asked. Miyukizi couldn't look up at him. Why did she say that? Don didn't know what to say. Luckily, the phone rang.

“Hello?” Don asked. Miyukizi lowered her head. Was he going to hate her now? Why did she agree with herself to do this? Why did she think it was a good idea? She turned and walked out of the office.
