Romance Fan Fiction / Original Stories Fan Fiction ❯ Hybrid ❯ The Begining ( Chapter 1 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
A.N. This is me re-doing this story. I am going to go more into depth, I am also changing my characters names. While some may stay the same, I believe Daniel may not be the right name for my main character. I love the name, but he’s so loosely based off a ex of mine that I am going to change him up a little. Just enough to let it be more… idealistic isn’t the word. But it’ll be enough to let your mind wander into his head I hope! This is the same story, same subplot I originated. Just a little off and a little more… interesting!
“Father,” a young man of the age around 17 asked, “what is the purpose of visiting this… shrine?”
“It is to help you understand and absolve the things you have wronged,” his father said quietly staring up at the statue of the goddess before them, “you pray to the goddess daily and hope that she will grant your prayers.”
The boy nodded, he understood now what he had to do. He had wronged many a man, woman and child, and this was his chance to do things right. But out of the corner of his eye, the boy saw a man watching him. He looked to be his fathers age, maybe younger, and the way he watched the boy was almost irksome. The boy figured he was looking at the statue and not him, but as his father dismissed himself the man approached.
“You are truly a fine specimen of a young man,” the man said quietly when he reached the boy, “what is your name?”
“Lucca,” the boy replied, “what is your business with me?”
“I would like for you to join me,” he replied simply.
“For what purpose?”
“I am in search of a strong companion,” the man stated, “you will do a fine job. I can feel it.”
“Why do you search for companionship with me?”
“As I said,” the man said trying to not grow exasperated, “I need someone strong to accompany me.”
“What is your name?”
“My name comes a great price,” the man replied.
“Name your demand,”
“You join me,” the man said with a grin, “we shall travel. See the world, meet new people, live forever with me in constant companionship.”
“And if I choose to not?”
“You have no choice,” he replied, “I have chosen you to accompany me.”
I thought about my dream from last night. About the night I met my ‘father’. I know that when we crossed paths he wasn’t meaning me any harm, but he continued to infect me with his curse. But even now, 145 years later, I cannot truly forgive him for what he did to me. Even though he was alone, and had spent a long amount of time without companionship, I never understood why he would not join a pack. I was only ever told he wanted to be the leader of his own pack. My ‘father’, Ea has always been a creature to be reckoned with. While on the outside he looks like the perfect police officer. He is tall, attractive, and can smile at a woman and make her turn to jelly in a instant. But that is not him at all. Deep down he is angry, never truly understanding, but finally settled down and ready to accept who he is.
I on the other hand never got a choice, as he did not either, but when we met he had already accepted what we are. He longed for a companion, someone as strong as he was when he was human, and someone he could confide in. That is how I came to be. I was the perfect companion. Until 50 years ago. When we met my ‘mother’. By her own respects she is already one of us, but she had just removed herself from a pack when we came to meet her. Being beautiful, small, quick witted, and dangerous, ‘father’ fell hard.
After my ‘parents’ wed and we all settled down, I left. Telling them I was accepted to a university in the British Isles, I made my escape to find out who and what we truly are. We are a volatile people, not truly one or the other. But a hybrid of two dangerous creatures. Hated by those who are one or the other, fabled to the humans. The small amount that we are hide in packs, trying to blend in. I knew I could never blend, but I succeeded in making people believe stories. I was a actor when I was human. I loved plays, I could truly take on a role so deeply that I was the most convincing. Not a man in Roma could compete with me. But here I am. Almost a century and a half later, stranded in this small Arizona town, thousands of miles away from my true home. Oh how the fates hate me.
A.N. Well there is the updated version of my Hybrid, formerly known as Samantha. I hope this new chapter is a little more eyecatching and interesting. I’ll update later, and continue with it until I get bored. I hope this is much better than the last try at this story. It will have the same story line, just more involved.
