The Faely Odd Life of Kisa Anders
~CHAPTER ONE~
Two Shots and a Bartender
The only sound in the small three bedroom house was the soft ticking of the iron star clock on the wall in the still of night. The strange eerie silence was disturbed as the four peach tinted walls of the master bedroom shook violently, pulling Kisa Anders out of a sound sleep.
This was not an Earthquake.
She jumped about a foot in the air out of bed and barreled towards the living room and the window, her long dark hair flying behind her. Drawing back the curtains she pulled open the window to feel the air. It was hot outside which was odd considering it was the middle of December. The sky flashed a brilliant orange then green before returning back to the dark night sky with the stars twinkling unmenacingly. The heat in the air vanished as the crisp winter air flooded in her room.
She shut the window, alarmed.
Hearing footsteps behind her she turned to find Piper and Hawke, her two bonded Fae standing there.Piper’s head tilted and her yellow eyes narrowed thoughtfully, she ran her pale fingers through her long crimson hair that was cascading down her back. She looked to her brother Hawke already knowing what the trouble was.
Hawke arched a sculpted dark brow as he stared at his sister. He, too, knew what the trouble was. His dark spiked up hair took shape of a dancing flame almost as if it was telling him what was going on in the air. “Kisa…” He said tensely.
“An elemental shift,” Kisa breathed out, closing her honey eyes she lifted her hands up in the air to find out just how far away it was. She chanted softly trying to pull the energy in but it was no use, she could not reach the beast. She dropped her hands in distress, slapping her things hard. She should be better equipped than this!
“A dark entity has emerged somewhere in the world.” Piper, in her soft melodic voice replied gently, hoping to ease her human’s mind. “I know you are really sensitive to the goings on with Other World here in This World, but the entity is not for you to worry about.”
“It was a big one though. The energy it produced shook my walls and we really have no idea where it emerged.” Yes, it was true that Kisa had a strong sense of the Other World creatures. She was always in tune. Her clairvoyance was one of the reasons that led Dark Lord Lysander Boltstar into her life and it was he who taught her how to control her many other abilities. She had escaped Lysander and Other World about ten years ago. She knew the people of Other World wanted her dead so this was the safest place for her. She had been hiding out from Lysander, she knew that he would never be able to find her here in This World, Kisa was sure of it. Memories started surfacing and she did not like to recall them. Oh, how she wished to have wiped all those years from her mind. It was too much, the weight of her dark past felt like it was crushing her entire being. Her heart sped up, her legs buckled and she sunk to the floor as the violent terror of her past actions came off her in waves.
She hugged herself tightly hoping the Mystical-Mental block stayed in place. By the Gods the pain was immense as her darker half fought against the block. Luckily, Hawke was a master at mystic blocks.
“Stop being a weak and pathetic human,” Hawke spat venomously, the irritated emotion was not displayed on his calm, stoic face but only in his charcoal eyes. It was no secret that Hawke loathed the human species but he made a few exceptions for humans over his immortal life and one of them was Kisa. Her body was a possible vessel for a formidable battle goddess from Other World as the power in her form and soul was enough to shake the very foundation of any world she happened to inhabit. But with Hawke's help her darkness would stay chained down. He knew Kisa didn’t want to hurt anybody in This World, the world she actually came from. She had done enough damage to her adopted home in Other World and protecting This World was her chance to make amends.
He bent down to Kisa’s level on the floor and gripped her face in his hands, lifting it so that he could look her in the eye. “She is stronger than this. We all know just how strong she really is. It was why Lysander had found and trained her when she was child.” Hawke had been in service with his sister Piper to Lysander Boltstar. That human man was also proof that some humans are definitely worth his vaulable Faely attention.
“Hawke, don’t be so cruel.” Piper, the much gentler of the two Fae, sat down next to Kisa while putting a comforting hand on her human’s shoulder. She had no hatred for the human species like her brother did. She loved all forms of life, each having its own value and need upon any world whether they were here or in Other World. “It was a very hard time. You remember the war and how horrifying it was for all life. We bonded our immortal souls to Kisa to help her.”
“I didn’t go through all that trouble so she can sit here like a useless lump.” Hawke gestured to her with open palms as he backed away. “You are better than this, stronger than this. Don’t give in to the shadows of the past which you are atoning for, you stupid human.” He snarled, baring fangs.
“Hawke, please!? Stop your—” Piper was interrupted with a slight shove away from her comfort.
Kisa pushed herself away from Piper, “He’s right, Piper. I need to gain control of my emotions as they get me nowhere.” She took deep breaths trying to calm her raging heart. She needed to push her emotions back behind her many walls. She closed her eyes and lifted her head towards the ceiling while chanting to the gods to encourage her strength. Slowly, she lifted to her feet and headed to the bathroom to cleanse her body and mind with a nice hot shower.
She twisted the shower water on, the steam flooding the bathroom as she undressed and stepped beneath the soothing, hot spray. ‘The entity is not for me to worry about,’ she thought while scrubbing her body down with a gentle mandarin soap to help calm her. She tried to block out all thoughts and just focus on cleansing her mind and spirit…
“Your hatred of humans is preventing you from truly embracing your destiny.” Piper said as she was sitting on the soft white plush sofa in the living room, her arms crossed in irritation over her silky white toga.
Hawke sniffed the air, his eyes narrowing in distaste. “Unlike you, dear sister, I am part demon. I have a more dangerous father than you and he gifted me with this dark half so both parts of my personality are extreme.” He smirked, “Just like Kisa. She and I are alike, both of us can be reckless and dangerous but put us in the right mood and we’ll be as sweet as apple pie.” He grinned maliciously.
“Kisa is far more gentle than you give her credit for, Hawke. I blame Lysander’s upbringing for turning her into that.” Piper gestured towards the closed master bedroom door with a thrust open palm of her pale hand. “He made her the way she is so that his chaos goddess can take over her body. Of course, he had no idea the threat he made to himself out of Kisa.” She snickered, “That old fool.”
“He was a brilliant human. Powerful. He had been born somewhere in the fourteen hundreds and yet he discovered a way to prolonge his existance. He's as close to immortal as a human could get." His adoration was clear on his usually nonexpressive face. "You just never liked Lysander.” Hawke stated flatly.
Piper chortled loud, “You got that right, unlike you who worshiped the ground he walked on. You probably would suck his dick if he gave you permission.”
“Now, now, no need to be crude even though you would be right,” He laughed. “He was the only human that I admired until I met Kisa. To see the sorcerer she would grow to become was something that made my dick hard and my inhuman heart skip a beat, even more so than Lysander. The only time she turned to me for her power surge or release was when she was utterly desperate for that.”
“It’s not like you minded it in the slightest,” Piper pointed out a flaw in his hatred towards humans, “you pretend to be all cold and hostile, but I know your immortal soul cares for Kisa. You wouldn’t bond yourself to a lowly human for reasons you found beneath you.”
Kisa emerged from her bedroom, her long dark hair was damp and she was dressed in jeans and a black silk and lace blouse that fit perfectly around her generous curves. She had her bag slung over her shoulder at an angle. Both Hawke and Piper stood from their seats on the sofa. Seeing their human going to the shoe cubby near the door and slipping into her black leather half inch heel booties.
“Where are you going?” Piper asked, already knowing where Kisa was going to head to. Her human usually did this type of thing after a rough night when she needed an energy boost. She needed to abandon her frustration on the form of a human man, she was going to steal part of his Life Force and the only way she was able to do that was through sex. She was sure there were other ways to take Life Force but that was the only way she had been instructed as the intent was to completely devoid the human of all energy and render them weak, controllable, only she never took it that far... at least here in This World.
“Don’t ask, Piper, you already know.” Hawke answered for Kisa with a lecherous grin. He definitely approved of her going out and getting her needs taken care of. He much enjoyed the stories when she came home to them.
Kisa shrugged innocently enough, “I need the power boost as the urge and emptiness is gnawing at my insides. Inform me of another way to boost my energy and power and I would gladly do that instead.” She was what humanity would call a reckless lover as she didn’t use contraceptives, she couldn’t or she wouldn’t get what she needed, but luckily for her in being a gifted sorcerer she would add a protection spell during the moment of consummation to prevent against disease and pregnancy. She needed all contact in order to achieve the level of Life Force needed for her core unpentrable.
“It’s almost one in the morning, are you sure you want to go out this late? You gotta be at work tomorrow at ten.” Piper tried to reason with Kisa how doing this was a terrible idea, especially tonight when she could use Hawke for her intentions if she was that desperate for a power trip. Hawke was a Fae with unlimited power to Life Force that knew her intimately inside and out, it was much safer instead of pulling energy from a human that she had no feelings for. Feelings and emotions was the center of all of Kisa’s power and stealing energy from humans to appease that core was dangerous for everyone involved.
“You don’t have to go, just stay here,” was all that Kisa said as she grabbed her keys from the ceramic blue bowl on the table near the front door. Kisa knew Piper would next try to bring up the feelings she had for her friend and fellow coworker Oskari Alaric. Her Fae knew the two of them had been developing feelings for each other but she definitely had some reservations when it came to letting him know how she really felt about him. She was definitely resisting the pull of emotions that he grabbed from her.
How could she not fall for such a man? He was amazing, attractive enough to excite her heart and he was definitely hilarious to boot. Plus his singing voice could melt the hearts of most women anywhere. Oskari was so charming that any lady would be under his spell if he knew how to cast one. He could lift her emotions to new heights if she wasn’t just a tad suspicious of what his intentions truly were. After all, he was recently divorced and they never really talked about the reasons for his divorce but from what she did know, the marriage was doomed from the start. She didn’t pry as it was none of her business. Kisa knew it couldn’t have all been his wife’s fault for the marriage failure as she had a sixth sense about men, she could predict down to the last detail of what the person was going to do. She could usually tell when someone was not the person they said they were. She figured this was just her mistrust surfacing in her head so she’s been pushing her warnings aside chalking them up to paranoia about love and relationships. She was desperately trying to break her cycles of distrust. It’s hard but she was sure she could do it. Lysander’s influence had been strong and she had lost a lot of love in the many years under his tutelage whether it was from death or betrayal. She did not want to risk. She couldn’t risk giving her heart to anyone. It was just too costly.
It had been a long time since she had allowed herself to like someone that she could see something on the horizon with this man... and that was dangerous. She would try her best to move forward and not let the past influence her future.
“Don’t stay out too late, we can’t be apart for too long or mine and Piper’s physical pain will become unbearable.” Hawke stared hard at her. He did not like the pain of what felt like him being achingly, slowly sliced into two pieces with a hot blade axe. He knew Kisa never felt the pain but he and Piper sure did so they would constantly urge her to come back together with them within a reasonable amount of time.
Kisa rushed out the door and straight for her car, the winter air nipping at her nose and cheeks. She wasn’t going to go very far but it was too cold for her to walk. After starting the car and the heater, she peeled out of her driveway and headed down the street to one place…Rafael’s. It was her favorite Dive Bar that stayed open till two.
The front door of the bar opened letting in the cold air, which made a few guests lift their heads to see who was coming in. The cold shivered the man in the corner booth alone nursing his third glass of Whiskey who looked up briefly. The couple over by the Juke box as they selected Slow Hand by the Pointer Sisters and the tune that would play second was Little Bit Closer by Jay and the Americans, they huddled closed together when the cold air hit them. The first song played in the air around the few random customers in various places throughout the bar. It was pretty late, almost two in the morning so these folks were the last stragglers of the evening.
Rafael, the owner of bar who was behind it lifted his head, his russet eyes twinkling merrily as his favorite customer came through the door and sat right on her barstool. Kisa Anders was tall and beautiful. Her long dark hair hung down the middle of her back was also soft to the touch. It was hard to keep his eyes off her exotic, lovely face and would constantly connect with her mysterious eyes of honey. He was never able to figure her out.
He could spend hours gazing at her. She wasn’t one of those thin, petite girls that were his usual types that he chased after. His eyes rested upon her form, taking in her curvy hips and full round breasts. This woman was just made for scandal that if he thought about it at the most inopportune time he would immediately get hard and that was never a good thing. Especially, if he was busy during a rush of crowds and drinks. It was also her smile that was another big pull for him. It was so powerful that it could knock the air from his body and make him trip over his own feet.
Making his way over to Kisa, he gave her a dashing smile, “Nice to see you this evening, Kisa, what brings you to my bar?” He was trying to play it cool but knew his words were way under par.
“Why your cheap shots of premium Tequila of course. How about serving me up a double of your finest silver?” Kisa flirted and leaned on the bar closer to him. It wasn’t difficult to flirt with Rafael, he barely appealed to her desires physically but he was a nice man. Not much taller than she was yet height never mattered to her. Right now she wanted to grip him hard and have him bend her over this very bar, only he always insisted on doing their illicit behaviors in the office upstairs.
He had to have known why she really came in here, he wasn’t an idiot nor did he ever refuse her. It was a good thing that he didn’t have any feelings for her, that way this little arrangement could continue. When it came to fucking any man Kisa didn’t want any feelings between them, emotions were something she did not want or like to deal with when it came to her playthings and most men were just that. There are only a few men in her life that she valued and she was sorry to say but Rafael wasn’t one of them, he was just a power source to her.
He poured her a double shot of Tequila and he left his hand on the bar. Her soft fingers stroked the top of his hand. “Thank you,” Kisa stared at his alluring face, knowing that he was a little on the thinner side. Which was unfortunate as she had a thing for thick, strong men with a strength to hold her up as she and her dream man would fuck hard. Luckily, she wouldn’t let the state of his lack of muscular appeal move her since the current muscle she was after was between his legs.
She grinned at him, giving him a glimpse of her pretty white teeth.
“You’re more than welcome,” heat steamed from beneath the collar of his green button up shirt with the way she was looking at him, it was as if she was wanting to devour him completely. He cleared his throat, “I haven’t seen you in at least a month. I thought you found a new bar and a new bartender to cuddle up to.”
She snorted, “You know for a fact that I don’t cuddle with only sex friends. We need feelings for each other in order for me to be doing something like that.” Kisa laughed as did he. “So even if I did have a new bartender I wouldn’t be cuddling with him… only fucking him.”
“Your ‘sex friends’ rules are definitely interesting, not that I am against them of course. Cuddling develops feelings and we certainly don’t want those between us.” Why did his belly jump unpleasantly at the idea of her not cuddling him? He has known her for a few months now and not once has she overstayed her welcome with him. Once they were finished she was gone within a half hour and never complained about him not cuddling her afterward. “Did you need to see me tonight?”
Need was definitely the right phrase and she gave him a single nod; “Do you have time?”
Rafael fingered her glass of Tequila as he leaned on the bar moving much closer to her, all the while giving her one of his most sly smiles, “For you I always have time.” He winked and slowly moved away to take care of his other customers to usher them out as fast as possible so he could take care of her.
Sitting there pleased in her performance of getting closer to the only reason she came to see Rafael. Kisa glanced into her glass of Tequila and stared at the clear liquid, sighing deeply before taking a healthy sip. She smirked at the remaining bit of liquid thinking that this was so great not to have to worry that Rafael was going to want something serious with her. She liked this arrangement that they had. She really just needed a power boost…not love.
The bar stool next to her moved, the stool's feet scraping the floor loudly and someone sat down next to her. “Aren’t you out a little late tonight to have to be at work by ten tomorrow?” A familiar masculine voice asked her with a soft chuckle.
Kisa slowly, cautiously, twisted her head to the right and her eyes connected with a pair of familiar obsidian eyes and an oh so familiar devastatingly attractive face. She shook her head in amusement and smirked at him, “I could ask you the same thing, Aureo, you also have to be there at the same time I do.” She was actually surprised to see him here at this very bar. Aureo Cheng was one her favorite coworkers and was at the top of her hot co-worker list. She wouldn’t mind playing with him only he was very married and was really strict on his no cheating policy. Of course he did push the envelope really close sometimes, that the thin line bordered cheating but he never seriously made a play to make his games a reality.
According to her, Aureo’s physical form was perfect his thick muscled arms that he occasionally let her grab in passing as he knew that’s one of her favorite features on man and plus she knew he didn’t mind it when she did it, he liked the attention. From their many friendly hugs she could feel that his chest was hard and firm, that she wondered what it felt like under clothing beneath her hands. Kisa could tell he worked on his appearance and tone a few times a week. He was taller than her by about three inches and older than her by at least ten years. The age gap she barely noticed as he did not look it nor did he act it. He was a very silly man most of the time, which was endearing to a lot of people and definitely added to his already attractiveness. Sure, they were just co-workers and friends but she wasn’t blind. He certainly pushed her hot buttons.
“What are you doing here at this hour?” She asked, curiosity finally getting the better of her. All she got as an answer was a shrug of his broad shoulders as he tipped his glass back letting some of the golden liquid slide into his mouth. “Isn’t your wife going to be worried that you’re out so late?” She watched his expression harden, which made her realize that he was clearly distressed about something dealing with his wife. His eyes lowered to glance down at the bar where his left hand was resting as he stared at a simple gold band around his finger. He cleared his throat and turned his head, his obsidian eyes connected with her honey intensely and Kisa could feel a blush rising to her cheeks at the intense stare. She was so red! How is that possible? No one has ever made her react to them by just looking at her like, not since her teenage days and first experiences with intimacy.
She couldn’t maintain the eye contact it was just too much and looked slightly to the left, avoiding his intense stare. “I take it you’re not going to answer my questions.”
“You’re right about that,” he said tightly.
She wiggled uncomfortably in her seat at his irritation and intensity, in addition to the fact that with the way he was looking at her it made her wet. She should not be thinking about him like that. Aureo was a true, strong man, he took his marriage vows completely serious and no matter how silly he was at work it was never real, it was all just a big joke. “I…I wasn’t trying to be nosy about your situations.”
“I know that,” Aureo let out a soft breath, his expressions softening. He definitely knew that she was just asking to make conversation. It’s not like she was meaning any harm by her questions. Not that she could ever mean anyone harm. She was such a gentle, caring person, even if she was one of the biggest perverts next to him that he had known. That was part of her appeal, besides her being fantastic to look at and watch. He definitely didn’t hide the fact that he absolutely loved to grope her shapely behind and hips, she never seemed to mind it and he never had to worry about offending her or shocking her to the point of disgust. They were equally nasty and to each other. It was a relief to be friends with her, he never had to hide that part of himself like he did to the majority of his family where he felt that no one understood him.
This was the first time that he and Kisa had never encountered each other outside of the work place and tonight was a complete accident. The way she flirted effortlessly with that bartender, not knowing he was in the bar to witness it was all telling. Guess she was speaking the truth that she was no different at work than she was outside of work. She was a very vocal, nasty girl to all their male co-workers and it makes him laugh most of the time. He had occasionally wondered if she had messed around with anyone at work with how forward she is. It wouldn’t surprise him if she had. There was nothing wrong with it. An aggressive female is a bonus in his book. He had little experience with aggressive women as it was usually him being the aggressor.
Whoever she goes after was a lucky man, Kisa was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted and she most likely had no problem acquiring it. It wasn’t just that she was a disgusting pervert like him or a woman that was severely alluring to stare at with his idea of perfect curves. She was one of the sweetest, most caring ladies he’s ever known. To Aureo, Kisa was the whole package and then some. He would have to be satisfied with just being her friend. After all, it was better than nothing.
“Kisa, I didn’t mean to snap at you. I apologize. I don’t really want my problems floating around work so I keep all my personal issues to myself. I’m not used to talking about them with anyone so if I came off a little tense, I didn’t mean to.” He smiled softly, “It would be a pointless conversation as my choices have been made and I need to live with everything I have.” He glanced away from her and stared at the hanging bar glasses on the rack in front of them.
“I would never fault you for keeping your business to yourself.” She smiled softly and gently placing her hand atop his to provide some kind of comfort. She noticed they were similar in color only he was a shade darker than her considering he was Polynesian. “I would also never gossip about your private life. It’s not my place to talk about your life to people. If you want people to know things you’d tell them yourself. I myself have similar opinions on that very subject. I don’t want everyone knowing what I do either.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Aureo let his gaze fall to her hand upon his and he turned his hand over and entwined his fingers with hers. He liked the feel of her hand in his, it was so soft and it made a pleasant tingle run though him. He needed to be careful to not make too much out of this, she definitely cared about him but he needed to maintain his lines of friendship even if they blurred from time to time. Everything he had said to her in jest there was always a sliver of truth. “It’s just my home life isn’t as great as I make it out to be at work. There’s a lot you don’t know about me. Even though we see our co-workers more than we do our own families, we don’t know each other on a personal level,” He squeezed her warm hand and reluctantly released it.
He should get going. It was getting really late and if he stayed anymore he’d probably do something he shouldn’t ever do… like kiss her. “I should get home now though.” He downed the rest of his drink and stood up from the barstool and left his payment on the counter what Kisa didn’t know was that he also left enough payment for what she had too, no matter what it was she was drinking. “I’ll see ya tomorrow bright and early.” He forced a smile before adjusting the zipper on his sweatshirt. He slowly headed for and out the door into the cold night air.
It wasn’t long after Aureo left before the rest of the bar patrons made their exit.
Rafael locked the front door then returned to Kisa’s side where he picked up the payment the man left and looked through it carefully, noticing there was a lot more here to cover just the man’s three shots of Whiskey. His gaze shifted and he looked over at Kisa, he noticed her glass was pretty empty and the price of the Tequila. Since it was obvious those two knew each other, Rafael was sure that man just covered her drink. His eyes narrowed slightly, “So who was that you were talking to?” He stuck the payment in the back pocket of his jeans for now.
“Just someone from work,” She didn’t even bother to look at Rafael's face while she gripped the waist of his jeans and pulled him right up against her, knowing exactly what she wanted and that she had waited long enough for her power boost. “I’m tired of talking.” She unbuckled his belt, quickly undid the button and in one swoop she had both his pants and boxers down around his ankles. His manhood was hard and ready for her already. That pleased her and she smirked up into his eyes.
“Kisa, we need to go up to my office for this,” Rafael tried to say but she shushed him.
“No, Rafael, right here.” She pushed him backwards and he nearly tripped over the clothing that was around his ankles. Kisa sat him down right onto the bench near the front door. She saw him breathe in deeply and he tried to hesitate, she knew he was going to say something else in refusal of their location. The truth was she needed this right now, it was getting late and fucking him anywhere would do. She removed her jacket, undid her pants dropping them to her feet and stepped out of them while staring at him. She saw his chest hitch as he stared up at her, she slowly straddled his thighs poising herself right over his lap. “Do you have anything else to say?”
“Uh…Uh, what if my girlfriend comes up and sees us?” He said, concerned that his lady would show up and witness them through the glass door.
“I don’t care as that’s your problem, not mine. You should always be honest with your partners no matter what.” Kisa smirked and slowly, teasingly lowered herself so her quiver engulfed his rigid hardness all the while chanting her protection spell just barely under her breath. She breathed hard through her nose. Feeling him so hard between her legs she let out a loud groan as she continued to lower herself completely onto him so that he was completely buried inside her. She rested her hands on his shoulders while staring down into his eyes.
He was staring up at her as he tried to lift his mouth to hers and she avoided the kiss as it landed on her cheek, “No, no. No kissing. This isn’t love this is just sex.” She said into his ear, lightly nipping it with her teeth.
She could hear his deep breathing as she lifted herself and slammed back down onto his lap. He groaned, his hands shaking, going up her blouse to cover over her bra covered breasts. “Oh, it’s so good, Rafael.” She plunged herself onto him over and over and could feel the tingles of his Life Force flowing into her. She was in complete control of his this man and that’s the way she preferred it. She always had to be in control and the way she got him to respond to her heightened her sensations as she rode him hard, feeling him sink into her as she took him in deeply, faster and harder. Every move she made was met with his moans and gasps of pleasure. Rafael was definitely good for one thing and one thing only.
Perhaps it was the cold hearted streak in her where she never thought of him as anything more than an object to use when she needed it. Truth was as soon as she was done with him tonight she wouldn’t think much of him later.
It was a sad truth, but her most honest truth nonetheless.
