The Faely Odd Life of Kisa Anders
                                                          ~CHAPTER THREE~
                                                         Ladies Man Extraordinaire

Oskari Alaric was exhausted. He was only thirty eight years old so why did it feel like his bones were aching? He just wanted to relax with a hot cup of tea in front of the television while watching some mind numbing show.  It had been a long twelve hour entertainment shift at Pearl Cove and he was ecstatic that tomorrow was his day off, just a chance to chill and do nothing.

He parked his green sedan into the parking garage of his one bedroom apartment. He couldn’t imagine the good luck he’d been having lately, even with the actual filing for divorce this morning. He remembered when he had told his soon-to-be ex-wife that he wanted a separation and that he was moving out, how it was going to be a hard adjustment. Only, it was an adjustment that he needed to move on with his life. Luckily, he had found this place three weeks ago.  The rent was not as high as he had expected to find here in the middle of Chicago, especially considering the prices of most units in nearby apartment complexes were ridiculously high.  It felt like fate that he had found such a cheap unit. Oskari figured that the unit had remained empty for some time for it to have only a monthly rent of seven hundred and twenty, so he jumped on the opportunity.

He hurried from his car as the winter winds picked up. He raced up the three flights of outside stairs to the third level. His apartment was second on the right and he rushed to the door.  In lightning speed he had his key inserted in the lock and twisted it to pop open the door.  After making his way inside he leaned against the now closed door of his apartment and immediately switched on the light.

“ACK!!”  He was surprised at the uninvited sight of Gloria Gale sitting there in his nice, relaxing brown leather recliner which is where he had wanted to sit.  She had her legs crossed, right over left, wearing an exceptionally form fitting ivory blouse and black leather skirt. She always looked amazing to him—but that was beside the point! She shouldn’t be here without his permission and he was going to tell her so, right now! Only, that’s not what came out of his mouth. “Geeze, Gloria, can you please not be so Ninja like?”

She giggled sweetly, “I’m pretty good at being silent, aren’t I?” Gloria leaned forward a little as Oskari was shedding his dark green winter jacket and hanging it in the nearby closet.

“What brings you by?” Oskari walked to the thermostat and turned on the heat before turning around and facing her, “and how are you not cold?” His jade gaze took in her very appealing but also revealing attire. He couldn’t help it as his eyes narrowed in on her petite but exceedingly pleasing breasts, how could they not? He could see practically everything! She barely left anything to the imagination.  He tried to lift his eyes to hers but found it nearly impossible.  When he heard her roaring laughter at his attempt, he looked away from her beautiful body and towards the floor, trying to show her that he was ashamed of his behavior when he truly wasn’t.

“Oskari,” She started to say, hoping to make him feel less than embarrassed as he lifted his head and finally looked her in the eye. “I was just imagining you naked so it kept me warm.” Gloria wiggled her brows and it made him laugh.  She really loved that sound. She was the only one who understood his sense of humor which was often obscure to most.  “I came by to get a little practice in.” She had her sheet music in a bag at the base of the recliner that she gestured to with her foot. “You’re the top pianist at Pearl Cove and you definitely help me expand my vocal range, you always have had that ability.”

Playing at missing her innuendo completely, Oskari answered plainly, “I don’t even have my keyboard set up yet. I’m still unpacking my stuff.  Besides, we just spent the last twelve hours in performance. I don’t really have the energy for more rehearsal.” Oskari sat down on the matching sofa next to the recliner. “I gave you an extra key for emergencies, not so you could just come over here whenever you wanted.” He leaned back and took a deep breath as he rested his head against the white painted wall. Oh, how playing with her head was so easy. “I’m really tired, Gloria, can you come back another time?” He groaned and pinched his sinuses.  He was really good at this game.

“Oh, come on, Oskari! You know for a fact you gave me that key so that we could still keep seeing each other.” Gloria stood up from the recliner and moved closer to him.  She spread her legs as she stood over his knees.  “I know you’re trying to get into that nasty Kisa Anders’ pants, since you are intrigued about all of her stories.  You wanna know if they are indeed true.”

Oskari lifted his weary jade gaze up at her, “Don’t presume to know what my intentions regarding Kisa are. I like her for more than just that.  She is sweet.” Gloria’s slender hips were at his eye level and he wanted to touch her. He knew that if he feigned resistance she would let him do whatever he wanted to her, thinking that she was in control.  What a ridiculous girl Gloria truly was. His hands found perch against her thighs as he gripped them, stroking them. Her legs were so smooth like silk.

Laughter that sounded more like cackling came from deep within Gloria’s chest as she continued to stand there looking down at him. “I know you like the girl, most do.” She felt his palms slowly slide up her thighs and over her backside, she let out a smooth puff of air, trying to control the rapid beating of her heart.” Gloria felt it hard to breathe as his fingers skimmed the silk of her panties where moisture was gathering.  She did not break their eye contact “She’s very curvy, long dark silky hair and you so long to know what her pretty mouth can do for you.”

Oh yes, it was clear that Oskari wasn’t really listening to what Gloria was saying, he was enjoying touching her way too much. She was getting so hot and he could feel the raging heat, while using one daring finger and slipped it beneath the silky material of her panties. He came into contact with her wet center and she moaned as he stroked in between the folds of flesh there, to rub the tiny button which sent tingles all through her. Gloria was wet and he wanted to shove his manhood into her silky depths so badly, but he would take his time to arouse her to thinking this was all her idea.  Oskari pushed a second finger deep inside her and slammed them in and out. She gasped loudly for him.

Gloria tossed her head back, her copper hair hanging down behind her as his fingers continued to pound in and out of her hot, wet center and she squealed in delight. “W…which is why even if you did start something with that wretched girl it will never last and you will always come back to me. “Oh!  We have a bond, Oskari. I was there for you during your worst times in marriage and I released your inner beast.  You knew nothing about passion until that first time two years ago that we came together as one.” She yelped at how quick her body convulsed as her climax hit her. Her knees threatened to give out and she sank down onto his lap.

Panting hard, she leaned in closer to his ear, “Just admit it, you are obsessed with me. So no matter how much you like Kisa… it will never be the same with her as it is with me.”

What a stupid fool, Oskari held in the amusement and laughter of how ridiculous she was. He would show her just how much more in control of this situation he was then she will ever be. “I am not obsessed with you.” He wasn’t at all. He moved to get up, only she pushed him back down and he stared up at her incredulous. “Gloria, if you don’t get off of me I am going to push you off.”

An adoring smirk curved the corner of her mouth as she slowly stood off of him. She still did not move away.

He stood up and they were almost nose to nose, he was barely an inch taller than her.  It didn’t help that Gloria was almost six feet tall.  Her soft lilac scent engulfed his senses as his gaze dropped to her full rose tinted lips before returning to her eyes of pure silver. “You need to leave.” He whispered. “I really want there to be something with…with.” His brow creased in thought, pretending to struggle in remembering Kisa’s name, “There can’t be if you…you are.”

“Yes, there can be.  You’re not with her yet. There’s still time for us to be this a little bit longer.” She smoothed her fingers up his back, her fingernails lightly tracing thin lines to incite a pleasured response. “Hell, even if you were with her she doesn’t need to know about us.  You were good at hiding me from your wife it was like practice for you.  You can certainly hide me from Kisa Anders which you might not really have to.  She doesn’t really care what people do as long as everyone is honest.  Just don’t lie to her.  I respect that about her at least.”

He sighed deeply, his hands curving around Gloria’s slender waist as he pulled her in close so that her body was flush against his. Gloria wasn’t the first woman he had outside his marriage as he had led her to believe, but now that he was soon to be single the whole world of women was now open to him.“I just don’t want hers and mine’s whatever it is to start on a bad note.”

“She won’t ever know you like I do. The fact that you never want to talk to Kisa about anything important speaks volumes about how you really see her.” Gloria whispered in his ear.

Letting her think what she wants, Oskari breathed in deeply as she moved downward, maintaining eye contact while Gloria kneeled down before him.

“I already know the good and the bad things, Oskari. You opened up to me.” With gentle fingers, Gloria, slowly undid the button on his jeans. “Yes, you opened up to me about everything.” She could see him catch his breath as he swallowed hard.  He was staring down into her mesmerizing silver eyes and she smiled when he did not stop her from slipping his pants down over his hips to pool at his feet.

Oskari intently held her gaze. He felt her fingers stroking his manhood while her other hand slipped his underwear off his hips to also pool at his feet. Her lips lightly brushed the tip of rigid manhood and Oskari closed his eyes at the feeling her warm mouth, slowly, teasingly pulling him only a little bit inside so just his tip was between her lips. He groaned in approval as her tongue lapped at him while pressing soft kisses up and down as shaft. He squeezed his hands down at his sides moaning from her attentions.  He resisted gripping her by the hair and shoving in deep.  He had to remember to let her think she was in control here.

“Oh, Glo…mmm” He couldn’t speak any longer as her mouth hot and wet fully enveloped his hardness completely into the dark depths of her sweet mouth.  A guttural groan escaped his throat as he gripped her head hard, entwining his fingers in her copper hair as he pulled her mouth harder against him, his thighs thrusting at her very naughty mouth. Knowing that Gloria was right, that this was one of the things his wife never, ever did and he was enjoying every bit of this woman’s sweet mouth sucking harder and faster. He grunted and moaned in letting her know that he did not want her to stop.

                                                                    ****

“No, no, Kisa the flank! Strike it there!” Piper shouted but it wasn’t in the nick of time for a monstrous beast flung its scaly arm and slammed hard into Kisa’s form sending her flying. She slid across the ground with the force of the blow, her back getting scraped up from the rocks upon the river bank.

The beast that resembled a thirteen foot bear with scales instead of fur and a massive swinging tail ran towards to the two Fae, it stood up on its hind legs and spun at them with a loud roar of a lion. The two Fae jumped out of its way as it raced towards them.

The snow was starting to fall as Kisa looked up at the snarling creature.  Piper shot a bolt of energy at the thirteen foot tall beast.  Its razor like fangs dripped with an acidic saliva. It gathered enough of it’s saliva in its mouth and sprayed it at them where Kisa jumped out of the way, narrowly escaping the bone melting goop.  It was a close call as the tree behind her was not so lucky in escaping the fate of saliva hitting it. The tree started fizzling and dissolving.  She wiped at the warm red liquid running down her face from the deep gash over her right eye.

“It’s an unusually strong Malthadon.” Hawke said as he concentrated, he felt his immortal soul tingle as he pulled his energy out in the form of blue fire from within him that gathered in the palms of his extended hands.  He launched the fireballs at the creature who even though was a bulky hulking mass of scales evaded the attack with a mere twist of its body.  It spun and jumped up into the air to land at Kisa’s feet which knocked her off them.  She flew back and hit her head on the hard ground, darkness threatened her consciousness. Hey eyesight started to blur.

“No!” she would not pass out, she willed herself to remain alert.  Kisa twisted over and planted her palms down on the frigid ground and sucked some of the earth’s energy from within the life forms around her.  She could feel the energy filling her up and her honey eyes were crackling with energy from the plant life which immediately withered and turned to dust.  The beast was no longer in sight.  This was bad.

It was strangely quiet. She couldn’t even hear the breath of the beast which meant its stealth was far superior than most Malthadons.  With her own breathing erratic, she propped herself up on one knee. Kisa struggled to intake air. The snow was coming to a stop and almost instantly as if the fates were on their side, the clouds parted. The full moonlight was shinning down on the Earth below providing the only light as the creature was no longer in view.  It was certainly very skilled in hiding, she knew the creature would try to surprise her but she would be ready for it.

“Where is it?” Hawke’s question only earned him a loud SHHH!

“This would be a lot easier if we had weapons to channel our energies, Kisa.” Piper said as the three of them moved so that they were back to back, remaining ever vigil of the whereabouts of the Malthadon.

“We can’t make such things here in This World. We lack the right equipment here to do that.  We have to make do with what we have.” Kisa hated that they didn’t have all the resources that Other World possessed, yet she was able to beat all creatures that managed to pass through the many gates into This World with the use of her spells and energies.  This creature seemed to have built in a resistance to her casting abilities which was odd.

“How did a Malthadon even make its way to This World? It’s not like it’s an Elemental that has abilities beyond human comprehension, so someone had to have opened a gate to let it through.” Hawke heard something snap from above; he cautiously scanned upwards into the branches of the trees.

“That is not our concern right now. First let’s kill this thing then we’ll try and figure out how it got here,” Kisa’s tone was firm. Piper smacked her in the arm and tugged on it, pointing to the left. “What?” Kisa hissed, not only did it hurt when she was hit because of her injuries but Piper could easily just say what was needed instead of resorting to the smacking of her person.

“It’s over there.” Piper closed her eyes and she could feel the heart beat of the creature, it pretty much echoed in her ears which meant that Kisa could feel it twice as much, “Its coming closer, it’s gearing up for a flash attack. I can hear its energy bristling.”

Hawke shrieked at Kisa after having really taken notice of the state of his human’s injuries, “You, idiot, your stomach is gushing blood! What is wrong with you?!” Hawke shouted, pointing at the deep four streaks in her middle that was pooling blood through the fabric of her white shirt. He could see the flowing of her dark red life’s fluid gathering on the ground between her feet which caused Piper to also squeal in alarm.

“It’s fine… I’m fine!” Kisa yelled out and hollered in the pain that she was fighting to ignore. She needed to kill this Malthadon and if she died in the process, so be it.  It wouldn’t be any less than she deserved for the horrendous things that she was responsible for.

“No, you’re not fine, you idiot!  Let Piper and I kill this thing, Kisa.  If you push yourself any further you are going to die. Don’t do anything more!” Hawke demanded in an unusual state of concern but Kisa just pushed away from him, ignoring all that he was saying.  She was a truly stubborn and stupid human!  He didn’t want to be the one to tell her that she was a little rusty when it came to hand to hand combat.  The way she dealt with Other World creatures here in This World was through spells. This Malthadon seemed to have a built in shield against such things which meant it was human made, but who would have such an ability to create this flawless monstrosity? He thought about it harder… there was only one human from the days of Kisa’s tutelage that he knew of that had been working hard on that particular type of mystical distortion and that was Malik Latif.  Oh no… no, no…any human but him. Hawke glanced at Kisa out of the corner of his eye.  He would have to break this news to her after this battle. That is if she survived this battle.  His thoughts were short lived as the creature barreled down from above.

This time Kisa was ready for it, she spread her arms out wide and pulled Life Force that she borrowed from the earth that was resting deep within her.  Her arms and hands glittered with silver energy that was solidifying as it grew from her palms into thick, long sharp points. Her fingers wrapped around the shards as she gripped them hard. She jumped up at the creature and sliced with both arms in a zigzag motion catching the throat and the belly of the beast with her razor sharp blades. They sliced the creature enough that it flew back with blood gushing from its gaping wounds.  It hit the ground with a thundering earthquake creating grooves in the ground where it slid.  It struggled to get to its feel but massive gallons of blood poured from its abrasions, it cried out loudly before falling into a lifeless lump.

Kisa let her arms drop to her sides as her blades retracted back into her hands and returned to the fluid energy that constantly coursed through her body. She sunk to her knees breathing hard.  Her sweat and blood was mixing, continuing to flow down from who knows how many cuts and gashes?

Piper immediately rushed to Kisa’s side and pushed her down onto her back, ripping her white blood soaked shirt and seeing the state of the claw marks that were made into Kisa’s middle. “Oh, my gods, Kisa, these are bad but I can fix them. I can fix all your injuries.”

Smiling through the pain, Kisa grunted as Piper pressed her hands against Kisa’s gashes and a soft glowing energy coming from her hands engulfed the slices in her flesh. “I guess my physical abilities could use some more work. It had been a long time that I had resort to such brute measures.” Her brow furrowed in pain as she felt her flesh slowly tingling as it was healing.

Piper smiled gently, “Don’t worry about that now just let me heal you.  We’ll help you become stronger of body, Kisa.  This definitely shows that you need to restart a physical training regimen. I guess we’ve all gotten a little lazy just relying on spells and pulling energy from the Earth.”

“It was an easier way to do things. I never had a problem defeating Other World creatures that found their way here to This World with my preferred methods.” Kisa’s breathing slowed as she was finally not riddled with pain anymore.  Piper was definitely good at healing, unfortunately it was not one of Kisa’s strong suits and she definitely needed more training if she wanted to be better at healing herself.

She heard fire erupt and tilted her head back to see Hawke using blue fire from his hands and setting the Malthadon aflame.  The foul scent of its burning carcass permeated the air and it physically made Kisa ill to her stomach.

Hawke reached into the fire and snapped off one of the Malthadon’s fangs, he needed to know who created this creature to withstand magic. Before he went to Kisa with his suspicions, he needed the proof that she could not dispute. She could rip his very heart from his chest if it turned out he had been wrong, not that he worried about that of course. Still, he pocketed the fang and turned around finding that his human was sitting up as Piper was now healing all the gashes on her face. He slowly slinked closer to them as the cuts seemed to evaporate from her face leaving his human flawless once again.

He offered Kisa his hand in helping her stand up which she gripped with a renewed strength and lifted to her feet.  They started walking, heading back towards Kisa’s house.  Next time they followed an energy signal Kisa would make sure they would bring her car.  Winter was just too cold to go chasing after monsters on foot.

“That was certainly a hard battle.” Piper broke the tense quiet air. She realized that neither of them wanted to talk about it, which was fine.  She just wanted to say something to break the awkward silence.

They made it to Kisa’s house where she rushed to head inside and for a shower to clean off the muck from the Malthadon as well as all the dried blood that was caked to her body.  Hawke pulled on Piper’s arm to slow her up a bit who looked back at him with a question burning in her yellow eyes.

“Piper,” He pulled from his pocket the sharp fang and brandished it to her.

Piper was just a little bit confused. It was not like Hawke to take trophies from a low level beast like a Malthadon. “Why do you have that?”

They slowly entered the house and quietly closed the door behind them. “I have a suspicion and that was why I took this. I need proof for Kisa.  Can you run an energy sync on it and see who made it?  Everything human made from Other World has a signature.”

I can’t do that easily anymore, Hawke. Not with the soul bond we share with Kisa.  My abilities have been somewhat limited since that day.  What is your suspicion?” Piper took the fang from her brother’s hand and walked over to their altar that paid homage to Hecate, Circe and Artemis, where she set it in the middle of a crystal sphere. “I don’t know if I can reach any of the goddesses at this point, it’s hard to get a reading from them so far from Xanadu itself.  We were definitely closer to Xanadu while back in Other World that they would respond quickly enough.”

“Forget about the goddesses and the witch Circe then, try for Ovar-Rah, King of the Fae or Shii-Ah the queen.  They will be able to help you since Fae travel between all worlds with ease.”  Hawke sat down as Piper moved the thirteen stones in a spiral pattern to reach out to the Fae.

“They might be angry with me for something trivial like this for a human, especially going to the highest order.  They are in love with humanity just as much as you are.”  Piper had a better idea than going straight to the king or queen.  Something must really be bothering Hawke for him to want to reach out to the highest order. “I’ll contact Fina-Fi and Blossom.” She heard him groan in annoyance which made her grin with delight as she knew that her brother couldn’t stand those two particular Fae and he had valid reasons why. “As I was saying… those two will be able to find out.”

Piper placed her hands in the finger groves of the altar and pressed down, chanting in an ancient Fae dialect, gold energy surrounded her body as she chanted louder and louder. A burst of energy shot up from the altar and two female figures appeared.  Both wearing white togas and looking exactly alike with aqua blue hair and ivory skin the only differences between them were their eyes, one had plum eyes while the other had turquoise.

“Why have you contacted this glorious Fae? I Fina-Fi demand answers,” Fina-Fi asked, her plum gaze danced around in distaste. She had been lounging in the sweetest smelling garden when she was pulled from the sacred temple to this horrible foul smelling place. “It smells like human here.” She growled distastefully.

“That’s ‘cause it is a human dwelling, Fina-Fi.” Piper said with arched brows.  There were few Fae who actually liked humanity, the majority thought of them as pests in need of extermination.

“What is it you ask of this great Fae?” Blossom also asked and lowered her turquoise eyes to the altar and the fang, she grinned, “Oh, a Malthadon fang.” She reached to pick it up but stopped short. Her pale hand started to shake, “This…this particular one is unnatural.” She lifted her head in fear. Grief filled her voice, “What has happened to this poor, innocent creature?” Blossom dare not touch the fang. Sorrow filled her slender form, seeing this fang was just too painful to bear.

“A human killed it.” The corner of Hawke’s mouth curved in an amused smirk revealing a sharp fang.

Hearing that most irritating voice, like the sound of dung beetles feasting on dead flesh, Fina-Fi snorted at recognizing who was standing behind her, “Oh, look… it’s the abomination. Salutations, Half- Breed.” She snickered cruelly, which caused the half demon to growl threateningly.

“A human in This World killed this creature? Impossible.” Blossom dismissed the very thought of that happening, “The inhabitants here do not possess the abilities to perform such a feat.  They are mystically weak and can no way keep up with the speed or strength of creatures of Other World.”

“Human’s here could perform such an act if they trained hard enough, they are just not as mystically aware of that part of them. That piece inside their souls and minds are still locked away.” Piper reasoned, “Although centuries behind Other World some humans here have awoken their mystical abilities there’s just not that many of them yet.”

“You have a knack for always defending humanity, Piper. This Fina-Fi is amused by your childish notions that they could amount to anything here in This World.  It’s so backwater and disappointing.” Fina-Fi sighed in regret as her fellow Fae was also a disappointment to their own kind.

“Enough of this ridiculous unimportant conversation,” Hawke interrupted with a bristling hostility had grabbed the fang off the altar and shoved it at Fina-Fi who held her hands up defensively. “Read the creation signature on this.” He snarled.

“Don’t touch me, Half-Breed. You might decay my flesh.” She said with pure disgust before gripping the fang, “As much as I loathe your very existence I will read the signature, only if it will get me out of this torturous place.”

The door to the master bedroom opened and Kisa stepped out, she was wearing black sweat pants and a loose fitting gray shirt, she was towel drying her wet hair from her shower. “What is all the yelling out here?” Confusion swam through Kisa’s brain at the two Fae she did not recognize. “Who are you?”  She noticed that the four Fae all looked at her, Piper and Hawke rushed to Kisa’s side.

“Kisa Anders…” Both Fina-Fi and Blossom said under their breath, they felt a strange fear rush though them as they were in the very human dwelling of the most feared of all sorcerers.  She was so well known for her power and cruelties that all Fae did not go near her nor did they ever challenge her.  They could feel her energy spiking higher and higher ready to fight if necessary.

“What do you want here?” Kisa demanded, honey eyes narrowing in suspicion. The last thing she needed was another fight.  She was exhausted and feeling broken from the last one but it was no problem to get rid of Fae, they were an easy kill if it came down to it.

Blossom sank to her knees before the great sorcerer, “We were summoned, My Lady. We had no idea this was where you lived.  We would never have stepped one foot into your residence without your explicit permission.” She turned and pointed sharply at Piper and Hawke and screeched unpleasantly in terror of death, “Those two wanted us to read a creation signature.”

Cringing at the high pitch of that Fae’s voice, Kisa spun around to Piper and Hawke, “Why?” When they didn’t answer her she rolled her eyes in annoyance. Taking a deep breath she turned and approached the Fae with the fang in her hand. “Isn’t that from the creature I just killed?”

“Oh, yes, My Lady. A spectacular kill indeed,” Fina-Fi praised a little too much. She saw the sorcerer’s brow arch in distaste and she had no idea how to act in a way that wouldn’t get her killed.

These Fae were annoying her. Kisa let out an irritated puff of air, “Shut up and just read the creation signature.” She ordered, wanting to get these two out of her house.

Blossom jumped to her feet and rushed over to Fina-Fi without so much as another word. Fina-Fi lifted the fang up. Blossom’s fingernail grew to a sharp razor point and she sliced the fang clean down the middle, cutting it into two pieces. Fina-Fi and Blossom both held one piece of the fang where they each pressed their fingers to the marrow of the fang.  With their free hands they gripped each other’s tightly and closed their eyes. The red energy swirled from the fang shards as the two Fae were vibrating. They could feel it, the signature, it was there.

“Malthadon was not born this way. No, no, definitely human made.” Fina-Fi said emotionlessly.

“Strong combination of mystic and science, both equal parts. Fascinating,” Blossom’s tone was also emotionless, “it was made to withstand Mystic abilities. Mystic Wards and blocks were engraved into its bones from its infancy as it grew.”

For some reason nervousness was erupting within Kisa’s chest as she listened to this. Why did this all feel vaguely familiar? She clenched her hands together tightly as she stared hard at the Fae, trying not to show weakness in front of them.  They did not need to know that she was no longer the threat that these Fae obviously knew her as.

“Oh, there it is. The energy signature of the one responsible for this creature,” Fina-Fi gripped her part of the fang harder.

“Hmm, yes, yes that’s it. His work is etched all over this fang…  Malik Latif is the one responsible.” Blossom dropped her piece of the fang as did Fina-Fi when they saw an expression worse than anything on Kisa Ander’s face.  It was like a void, completely emotionless and they knew that to be one of her more dangerous expressions.

Blossom and Fina-Fi backed away carefully from the threat and without so much as a word disappeared from the human realm with a soft pop.

Not caring where the two Fae went, Hawke watched his human closely as Kisa moved slowly to the pieces of fang on the carpet. He lifted his dark gaze to Piper as she, too, was terrified at the silence that Kisa moved with.

Bending down and resting on her knees, Kisa picked up both shards of fang and looked at them curiously. Her heart thundered in her chest as she studied the fang, her memories came flooding back and she clutched the shards to her chest, “Oh, oh no, not Malik, not him.”

“Kisa?” Hawke started to say, “I…I had my suspicions on the battlefield with the Malthadon and I needed proof to show you.”

“So…so I summoned the Fae that could help.” Piper carefully said.

They were not prepared for Kisa’s reaction as she reared up in dangerous aggression with her arms snapping out wide, the bolts of energy that came from her hands slammed both the Fae back hard so that they were smashed up against the wall.  Kisa slowly walked towards them in a dangerous yet fluid motion.  “I did not ask for you to discover who made this creature.”

Piper and Hawke struggled but the hold of Kisa’s power was too great to resist as they gripped the energy gloves around their necks that held them against the wall.

“Ki…sa” Piper muttered out, she clutched at the energy glove around her throat, “We…we needed to figure this out. To remain constantly aware of where our enemies are and if they know where you are.”

Kisa’s eyes started swelling with tears and she shook her head, through her rage she yelled at them, “Why couldn’t you have just let this one go?! Why?! Why did you have to find out that he is still… still...” her hands started to shake and they dropped to her sides as she descended towards the floor, crumpling into a puddle of despair.  The energy gloves around both Piper and Hawke’s throats fizzled out and they could move.  They dropped to the floor in tangles of limbs but were able to regain their footing in record speed.

They both slowly crawled over to her.

Kisa looked between both Piper and Hawke. “Does this means Malik knows where I am?”

“It’s possible that it’s just a coincidence, who knows how many creatures he sent through the many gates.” Hawke stated determinedly. “Whichever the case may be, we will be ready for him.”

Kisa scoffed in disbelief as she held back the crystalline tears that threatened. She knew the Fae definitely knew Malik. Even from the days of her past tutelage he’d always been working on ways to combine science and magic into creatures. It looked like his hard work had finally come to pass as the Malthadon was a small beast to kill normally; she wondered if there were more Other World creatures that the man had under his microscope. She could speculate that this creature he sent out was a test to see just how well his creations could hold up. If that indeed was the case then they were in for a rough time ahead. “Since spells are not going to work if Malik is altering Other World creatures, then I’m going to need to take up combat techniques once again, and I know exactly who to ask to help me.”
