Romance Fan Fiction / Other Fan Fiction ❯ Stars Above - A Cassunzel Fanfic ❯ Chapter 17: It's Okay ( Chapter 17 )
Rapunzel watched in horror as the black mist filled her girlfriend’s heart. Rapunzel vaguely heard her tell her to run but she couldn’t focus on it. It wasn’t until Cassandra snapped her eyes towards her; breathing roughly as she tried to gain control.
“Run!” Her voice was strained. Then she squeezed her eyes shut. Rapunzel swallowed and started to back up. She now knew that Gothel carried the blackstone and she also knew that the darkness of it filled Cassandra. Cassandra’s struggling breathing suddenly stopped as she slowly stood up.
“C-Cass?” Rapunzel asked. Cassandra didn’t move. Her back was turned to her.
“Dear sweet girl, ‘Cass’ is no more.” Gothel let out a malicious laugh as she squeezed, what Rapunzel could only assume was the blackstone, tightly in her hand. “She is under my control now. I would be more than happy to kill you myself, but where’s the fun in that? I want to make you suffer like you made me suffer. And what better way than to be hunted down by your own lover, hm?” Against her better judgment, Rapunzel backed up in fear as she caught Cassandra’s blue eyes staring at her with a look that promised death. “Goodbye, my little flower.” Rapunzel turned around and bolted into the forest. Gothel smirked. “Kill her.”
It was all she had to say. Cassandra sped off after the girl.
“Goodbye, you rotten brats.” Gothel laughed maliciously before she disappeared.
Rapunzel ran through the forest like she never ran before. She didn’t dare stop. Her eyes were wide with fear, her breathing was frantic and the branches kept hitting her as she made her way through; leaving small scratches and cuts. But she didn’t dare stop. Suddenly a rock sprouted in front of her and she was forced to stop to a halt.
Breathing roughly, she backed up as Cassandra appeared on top of the rock; her eyes dark and unrecognizable. “C-Cass, it’s me, Rapunzel. You remember, right? I-I know you can fight this!”
Cassandra didn’t respond. She slowly made her way towards Rapunzel as she took out her sword and advanced towards her. Rapunzel slowly backed up, eyes wide in fear and hands up in defense. With the women barely inches in front of her, Rapunzel realized that she was trapped between Cassandra and a tree that hit her back. “C-Cass, this isn’t you, please..” Cassandra raised her sword above her head and Rapunzel barely had time to jump out of the way before she brought it down. She didn’t leave unscathed though. The sword sliced her arm open as Rapunzel cried out in pain. She placed a hand over her dangerously bleeding wound and turned the other direction and ran.
Minutes later, she was struck down from behind as she was tackled roughly to the ground. As she yelped in pain, Cassandra had her pinned down on her back. As Cassandra raised the sword above her head, Rapunzel quickly grabbed a patch of dirt in her hand. “I’m sorry about this.” She said before throwing it in Cassandra’s eyes. Cassandra leaped back, hand covering her eyes as she growled. Rapunzel didn’t wait around as she stood up and began running again but this time with a limp. She held tightly onto her bleeding wound as she made her way through the forest to find something, anything, to help her.
She was suddenly slammed harshly against a tree. Her ears were ringing and she heard a soft crack behind her head. Whether it was the bark or her skull, she did not know, nor did she want to find out. She became increasingly aware of the wetness she could already feel at the back of her head though. Cassandra had her arm pinned over her throat. “You really shouldn’t have done that,” Cassandra spoke, her voice was dark and softness that Cass always held was gone. It was nothing like the Cassandra Rapunzel knew. “I was going to make your death painless but now,” Cassandra held the sharp end of a dagger close to her cheek before she cut into it slightly, making blood drip down her cheek as Rapunzel whimpered. “I’m going to make you suffer.”
Rapunzel was suddenly thrown from the tree and onto the ground as she landed on her injured arm with a cry of pain. Rapunzel tried to get to her feet only for Cassandra to punch her across the face. Rapunzel fell to the ground once more as she felt her already swollen eye start to bruise. Rapunzel couldn’t get up anymore as she tried to painfully crawl away from the approaching women that promised murder in her eyes. Rapunzel didn’t know where she was bleeding or how much. Her head was ringing and she didn’t know how bad her injuries were. She could barely stand and with each crawl backwards, a trail of blood followed.
“C-Cass, please..” She begged but only for it to fall on deaf ears. Rapunzel was suddenly slapped across the face harshly as she yelped and fell the rest of the way to the floor. She was unable to move at all now as she breathed roughly. Suddenly, Cassandra bent down and picked her up in the air by her throat. Rapunzel choked as she tried to claw Cassandra’s muscular arms away from her throat but it was futile. Her grip was too strong. Cassandra then raised her then slammed her on the ground. Rapunzel lay there, her hair covering her face as she struggled to breath. But Cass upheld her promise to make her suffer and didn’t let her die there. Once more, she picked her up by her throat and held her to the sky, squeezing slowly more and more as time went by.
Rapunzel held onto Cassandra’s hands to try and loosen her grip, but soon everything started going dark. She couldn’t breathe. As Rapunzel looked into Cassandra’s teal eyes, the love and softness that once lay in her beautiful hues were no more. They were empty, ruthless, evil, and full of hatred. This was not her Cass. Tears filled her eyes as she became desperate. They streamed down her face as she looked down into Cass’s hatred filled eyes. “Cass, please..” She said weakly. It was barely above a whisper but it was a desperate plea. She knew Cass was still in there. She would never give up on her.
She fought the upcoming darkness as Cassandra’s hand gripped tighter. Her eyes begged Cassandra as she stared deeply into her empty eyes. More tears filling her eyes, she let them fall down her face and refused to give in to the darkness as she continued staring into her eyes. Cassandra’s hand shook as it kept tightening. Cass narrowed her eyes as her face tightened more in hatred. The moonstone suddenly started to glow lightly and Rapunzel could see the light of the stone slowly start to push the darkness out of Cassandra. As Rapunzel kept staring deep into her eyes slowly, but surely, some recognition returned to them.
First it was confusion, then her eyes started to soften, then it was horror. Full recognition returned to them as her eyes widened in absolute horror and she quickly let go of Rapunzel. Rapunzel fell to her knees on the floor; coughing and trying to catch her breath. Cassandra backed up in horror as she stared down at Rapunzel. “R-Raps?” It was the only word she knew how to say at that moment. Rapunzel slowly met her eyes and Cassandra’s eyes widened even more as she placed a hand over her mouth in horror.
Blood ran down from Rapunzel’s head all the way down her face. Her entire face was pretty much covered in blood and that doesn’t even begin to explain the rest of her body. Cassandra wanted nothing more to turn around and run away and never return but she couldn’t, not when Rapunzel was so gravely injured. When she looked into Rapunzel’s eyes, she didn’t see fear nor hatred, not even blame, she saw relief as Rapunzel gave Cassandra a weak smile, tears filling her eyes.
“I knew you’d come back to me..” She whispered before she fell unconscious.
“RAPUNZEL!”
Rapunzel awoke with a start, breathing roughly and sweat coating her body. “Woah, woah, miss, calm down!” She felt a gentle hand press against her chest. She noticed that she was in some kind of hospital room but she didn’t care as she panicked.
“Where’s my girlfriend?” She asked quickly, looking around frantically; not caring about the fact that she said ‘girlfriend’ instead of ‘friend’.
“The woman that brought you in?” The nurse asked in a confused voice. “She’s outside, but-” Rapunzel didn’t let her finish as she shot to her feet, wincing while doing so. “You can’t be up yet!” The nurse tried to push her back down onto the bed but Rapunzel moved from out of her grasp.
“I need to go see her! Please!” Rapunzel begged. She looked deeply into the nurse’s eyes; her eyes frantic with worry, fear and something else. “Please.” She begged, her eyes already tearing up. The nurse’s eyes softened as she sighed and nodded. “Thank you.” She was out the door in a second.
Adrenaline coursed through her as she searched frantically for her girlfriend. The pain of her injuries was horrible but she didn’t care as she kept going. Then she saw her. Still covered in her moonstone attire, Cassandra stood at the edge of the village overlooking a grassy field. “C-Cass!”
Cassandra turned around in confusion. “Rapunzel?” She quickly rushed to her as the adrenaline Rapunzel was going off of passed and she fell to her knees. Cassandra was by her side in a second but didn’t touch her. “You shouldn’t be up! Are you crazy?”
As Rapunzel looked into her eyes, tears filled her eyes. Before Cassandra could do anything, Rapunzel threw herself into Cass’s arms. Cassandra hesitated at first and seemed scared to touch her but when Rapunzel’s grip tightened, Cassandra relented and wrapped her arms around the princess and dug her face into Rapunzel’s neck; tears were already falling down her face.
“I’m so sorry,” She heard Cass sob. “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.. I’m so, so sorry..”
Rapunzel pulled her closer and placed a kiss in her teal hair. “Shh.. I-it wasn’t your fault, Cass..”
Cassandra shook her head quickly and tightened her grip without bothering her injuries. “I-If I hadn’t.. I..I woul- would’ve..”
“I wasn’t worried,” Rapunzel said softly. “I knew you’d come back to me. You always do.” Cassandra only held her and stayed silent. A couple minutes passed before anyone said anything. “I... I’m so sorry for what I said, Cass, I..”
“No! No, you were right… I s-shouldn’t have compared you to Gothel, that was a new low.. But you were right.”
“What?” Rapunzel gently pushed Cassandra away from her and held her at shoulders-length. She looked deep into Cassandra’s teal eyes before she placed her bandaged hand on Cass’s cheek, wiping the tears that continued to fall. “No, Cass, no. I’ve said it many times before, but I’ll say it again: I will never give up on you. Ever.”
“You should’ve,” Cass whispered. “You should’ve fought back, Rapunzel. Are you crazy?”
Rapunzel smiled sweetly and gently ran her thumb over her cheekbone. “Yeah,” Rapunzel responded softly. “Crazy in love.” A small blush spread itself over Cassandra’s cheeks as her eyes softened. “As always, you did the impossible and came back to me.”
“N-No, that was you, I-”
Rapunzel shook her head with a smile. “You came back to me on your own. You fought and you won against the darkness. And because of that, the moonstone accepted you as its holder and now you two are one.”
“I-I don’t want to be ‘one’ with it! Because of it, I seriously hurt you and nearly..” Cassandra swallowed, unable to finish.
“No Cass, it saved me. It saved you.”
“W-What, I don’t..”
“The moonstone pushed the blackstone magic out of you, Cass. It felt you fighting to climb back to the surface and helped you regain control. I saw it.”
“But if it wasn’t for the moonstone, I wouldn’t have even attacked you in the first place! I-I should’ve fought harder.. Everything just went dark and.. god, Rapunzel, I don’t even remember anything! I don’t want to remember! T-This is my fault, I..”
Rapunzel raised her hands and placed them on both of Cassandra’s cheeks and forced her to look at her. “No, sweetheart, no. None of this is your fault. If there’s anyone to blame for all of this it’s Gothel. She used the blackstone to darken your heart and thoughts.”
“It is, though. I-I was so mad.. I let her get in my head and I charged without even thinking about it and...”
Rapunzel smiled sadly and ran her thumb lovingly over her cheek. “Yeah, she does that to you. That’s what she does, Cass. She knows how to hit the weakest spots.”
“That’s no excuse..”
“I was the one that got you so upset in the first place, I shouldn’t have-”
“No, don’t do that! D-Don’t turn this around on yourself and make it your fault because it’s not, none of it is, a-and..”
“It’s not yours either.” Rapunzel whispered. Cassandra stayed silent as she kept her head down.
“What if it happens again?” She asked after some minutes. “Once Gothel realizes that.. that her plan didn’t work, she’ll use the blackstone to-”
“It’s not gonna happen again.” Rapunzel said confidently.
“You don’t know that! As far as I’m concerned, I’m a threat to you-”
“You’re nothing of the sort. Now, you’re stronger and you can fight against it. I know it won’t happen again because I know you’ll be ready and I know you’ll be able to fight against it this time.”
“I can’t promise that.” Cassandra whispered.
Rapunzel smiled. “I can. And it’s a promise I know I can keep.”
“How do you know that?” Cass whispered again.
“Because I trust you. And I know that you are strong. You’re the strongest person I know, Cass and I am 2000% sure it won’t happen again. And if it does start to take you over, I will make sure it doesn’t. But I’m positive you won’t need help.”
“You really believe in me that much?” Cassandra asked. She sounded in disbelief but also incredibly touched.
Rapunzel smiled sweetly and placed a small, quick kiss on her lips before pulling back. “Of course I do. I trust you with everything I am. You-”
“Marry me.” It was so abrupt and sudden that Rapunzel actually had to stop and blink a few times to ask herself if she heard that right.
“W-What?”
“Marry me, Rapunzel.” Cassandra repeated as she stared deep into her eyes. A new emotion Rapunzel had never seen before in her was hidden in her beautiful majestic teal eyes: hope.
Realizing that she did hear her correctly, Rapunzel’s face slowly morphed into a shit-eating grin as she threw herself at Cassandra. “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!” Cassandra laughed as she caught Rapunzel, the momentum of the movement causing Cass to fall on her behind. She didn’t care though as she held Rapunzel tighter; a huge smile of her own covering her face.
Rapunzel had her arms wrapped tightly around Cassandra’s neck and her face was buried in her chest. Rapunzel pulled away from her after some minutes, the happy smile never leaving her face. As she stared into Cassandra’s equally happy eyes, Rapunzel couldn’t help but tear up as she crashed her lips to hers.
For Cassandra, the world exploded into color as Rapunzel’s lips met hers. Her smile widened as she kissed her girlfr... no.. fiance back with passion and promise. After a minute, they both parted as they stared in each other’s happy eyes.
Cassandra then realized that Rapunzel was nearly bouncing on her knees. She always loved Rapunzel’s kiddish enthusiasm (because it was adorable) but she had to gently place a hand on her hip to still her. Chuckling, Cassandra pulled her closer. “Calm down before you hurt yourself. You can jump and frolic and aggressively hug me all you want once you’re healed.” Rapunzel frantically nodded her head in agreement, the eager smile still ever so present on her face.
Cassandra shook her head as she picked her up bridal style. Rapunzel made a surprised, adorable, squeaking sound as she wrapped her arms around her neck for leverage. When she looked up at Cassandra in confusion, Cass said: “You already bothered your injuries by coming out here.” Cassandra said with a reprimanding glare.
“I had to make sure you weren’t gonna do anything stupid.” Rapunzel responded with a grin. Cassandra opened her mouth to argue but then realized she was 100% right (for if she hadn’t come out when she did, Cassandra was literally about to find a cliff to jump off of) and she quickly shut her mouth.
“Alright, that checks out. But still, you should’ve asked one of the nurses to come and get me.”
“You wouldn’t have come unless I came out here myself.” Cassandra closed her mouth once more because, again, she was right.
“Fine, fine.” Cassandra muttered in defeat, making Rapunzel giggle. Cassandra couldn’t help but grin.
Cassandra had carried Rapunzel back to the room. The very sweet nurse had given them a free room for however long Rapunzel needed to heal. The bed was a decent size. A queen, if anything. Rapunzel was sitting against the bed frame while Cassandra sat next to her.
The silence was comfortable for a while as Rapunzel doodled in her sketchbook and Cassandra listened to the soft sound of scratching that somehow calmed her. Rapunzel eventually put her sketchbook and quill on the side table and looked up at Cass through half-lidded eyes.
Cassandra had her eyes closed and her arms were behind her head but as she felt Rapunzel’s stare, she opened her eyes and chuckled. “What?”
“It’s just...” Rapunzel started. “I’ve never seen you up close in your moonstone attire.. well, at least up close where we weren’t fighting each other, and it’s just... you look.. marvelous and striking.”
Cassandra blushed at the compliment. “Thanks Raps but I look inhumane and.. dangerous.”
Rapunzel slowly raised her head so that they were face-to-face barely inches apart. “That’s not what I see.” She whispered, slowly leaning in.
“Oh yeah?” Cassandra whispered back, her eyes trained on her lips. “What do you see?”
Rapunzel slowly reached forward and tangled her hand in Cassandra’s hair. “I see... beauty through in and out.” She slowly trailed her hand down her neck before placing it on her cheek. “You look... mysterious, charismatic.. electric.. angelic.. gorgeous...” She gently ran her hand down Cassandra’s cheek to the back of her neck again. “...magnificent.” Rapunzel leaned forward and placed a gentle, teasing kiss on Cass’s lips before pulling back once more. ”Dangerous... but in a good way. Extraordinary. And...” Pushing herself more firmly against Cassandra, she leaned in until their lips were less than an inch apart. She felt Cassandra’s breath catch as she leaned in closer. “...mine.” With that, she pushed herself the little distance that was left and crashed her lips to Cassandra’s.
Cassandra groaned into the kiss as she pulled the princes more firmly against her, making Rapunzel let out a small moan into her mouth. Her hands were gentle and soft as they ran up and down her body; being extra careful not to irritate any of her healing wounds. Rapunzel pressed her tongue into Cassandra’s mouth, surprising the hell out of Cass by the sudden boldness, as Rapunzel ravished her mouth.
Cassandra pulled back after nearly a minute and a half and took a much needed breath. Softly panting, she looked back at Rapunzel. “Wow.” Was all she could say. Rapunzel let out a small giggle.
“I told you,” Rapunzel whispered. “Your moonstone form is doing things to me.”
“Is it now?” Cassandra whispered back before raising one of Rapunzel’s legs with a hand and putting it over hips so that Rapunzel’s legs were open and she was between them. Cassandra gently thrusted into her.
Rapunzel threw her head back with a deep moan before responding, “God yes.”
“If you told me that a while back I think we would have saved each other a lot of fighting.” Cassandra thrusted a second time into her, making Rapunzel moan again.
“Mhm, right, like I was gonna walk up to your tower and be like ’Oh hey Cass, I know you hate me and all right now but I think you look hella sexy sooooo.... wanna fuck?’” Surprised at Rapunzel’s sudden language, Cassandra couldn’t help but let out a laugh at the thought of it. “I don’t think it would’ve played out well. You would’ve looked at me like I lost my mind.” Rapunzel grinned.
“Probably - but then I’d kidnap you and take you up on that offer.”
“It’s not kidnapping if I went willingly.”
Cassandra shook her head with a chuckle. Then her expression grew serious for a split second, “D-During those times... I never hated you. Not once.”
“It sure seemed like it.”
“I know,” Cass looked down. “I tried to hate you. But I couldn’t bring myself to, no matter how hard I tried...”
Rapunzel smiled and raised her head so that Cass was looking at her again. Rapunzel leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. “I’m just messing with you, Cass. I know you didn’t hate me.” Cassandra gave her a sweet smile before she resumed kissing her.
The passion grew rather quickly but with Rapunzel’s condition, Cass had to be gentle and slow. Not that she minded. As long as she had Rapunzel in her arms, she was happy. Their kisses became frantic and wild as their tongues swirled together. Cassandra tilted Rapunzel’s head back slightly and Rapunzel swore she saw stars. As the passion grew, Cassandra slowly trailed her hand down Rapunzel’s body. She made sure to trail her nails gently down Rapunzel’s body as she went; making the younger girl shiver. She knew she loved that.
As Cassandra’s hand drifted downwards, she couldn’t help but became impatient. Afterall, they went from not having a night without each other to two weeks of not touching each other at all. Without warning Rapunzel, she shoved her hand into her underwear and entered her with three quick fingers. Rapunzel, surprised but not displeased, had to pull away from Cass’s lips to let out a surprised moan-sounding-yelp as she tightly gripped Cassandra’s moonstone attire.
Cassandra slowly started pumping but they became faster the more Rapunzel’s moans rose in volume. Rapunzel could barely focus as she threw her head back. Cassandra took the opportunity to attack her neck as she left hot, wet kisses all over it. When she got to the part where there was bruising from when Cass had her hand around her neck, Cassandra gently placed loving, apologetic kisses on each part where she found bruising.
She suddenly removed her fingers from Rapunzel, giving Rapunzel a chance to breathe for a second, before Cassandra slowly started trailing kisses down her body. Rapunzel, once she realized what was going on, watched as Cassandra made her way down her body as she placed a kiss on every injury she could find. “Cass, what are you-?”
Cassandra looked up and gave her a gorgeous, handsome-looking smile. “Trust me.” Rapunzel nodded almost immediately. As Cassandra made her way down her body and very sexilly slipped her underwear down her legs. She was not prepared for what she did next. Cassandra took her by surprise, held her thighs open, and darted out her tongue.
“A-Ah!” Rapunzel would have shot up if not for the gentle but strong hand holding her down. Cassandra got to work pretty fast. Rapunzel’s head swayed back and forth as her moans grew. Having not been touched in a while, or at least what they weren’t used to, Rapunzel found herself getting close to the edge rather fast. She couldn’t form words to tell her fiance but Cassandra always knew as she added two fingers for stimulation. That was all it took. Rapunzel’s mouth went slack as her back arched and she let out a low groan. Cassandra continued to work on her until she knew Rapunzel couldn’t take it anymore.
Cassandra slowly came back to where Rapunzel lay and watched in cocky satisfaction as her fiance tried incredibly hard to catch her breath. After a couple of minutes, Rapunzel was finally able to speak. “Woah.” She responded in awe-struck amazement as she stared up at her lover.
Cassandra’s cocky satisfied smirk never left her face as she gently, but still tightly, gripped Rapunzel’s chin with her fingers. She gently brushed her lips against hers before pulling back a bit. “It’s been way too long.”
“And who’s fault is that miss ‘I’m going to disappear for two weeks and suddenly show up like some heroic knight’?”
“Well, a knight always saves his princess in the end, right?”
"Her princess.”
“Right, her.” Cassandra grinned before capturing Rapunzel’s lips in another searing kiss. Rapunzel slowly ran her hands down Cassandra’s broad shoulders and flattened her palms against her chest.
Rapunzel let go of Cass’s lips, breathless. “Cass, I want to feel you, please.” Cassandra nodded before she focused on retracting the moonstone armor. Slowly, it started to pull away, leaving Cassandra naked with only the moonstone still on her chest. Rapunzel blinked a couple of times. “You can do that? And - where do your clothes go when you transform? Do they just disappear into thin air?”
Cassandra laughed. “If I’m being honest, I have no clue.”
Rapunzel giggled before she started to trail her hands all over Cass’s body. She traced over a couple of small puncture wounds that she didn’t remember being there before. Rapunzel looked up and tilted her head. “How did you escape?”
Cassandra grinned. “There were a lot of them, but they weren’t very smart. As soon as I realized it was a trick, I knocked one of the guys out and disguised myself as him.”
“And they felt for it?” Rapunzel asked, her eyes wide in amusement and disbelief.
“Yep. Would’ve helped if I had that cloak thing though.”
“Whatever happened to that thing?”
Cassandra shrugged. “I think it got destroyed when I destroyed Corona.”
“Too bad. It would’ve been incredibly helpful.”
“You said it.” Cassandra chuckled. “Now, weren’t we in the middle of something?”
“Hm?” Rapunzel asked, dazed and when Cass gave her a deadpan look, realization lit up in her eyes. “Oh right!” Cassandra chuckled but it was short lived as Rapunzel recaptured her lips. Once more, the passion started to grow as they both kissed like their lives depended on it.
As minutes ticked by, Rapunzel slowly started to trail her hands over Cassandra’s muscular body. When she pulled away, she looked at the stone that was pretty much embedded into her skin before looking up at Cass with worry. “Does it hurt?”
Cassandra, while surprised at the question at first, smiled sweetly at her and shook her head. “No, not really. Here,” Cassandra gently grabbed her hand and started to pull it to where the moonstone was.
Rapunzel began to pull away hesitantly. “C-Cass, I don’t think-”
“It’s okay.” Was all Cassandra said as she gently placed Rapunzel’s hand over the stone. Rapunzel was surprised by the sudden surge of power that shot through her but Cass kept her hand on top of hers so she wouldn’t pull away; showing her that it really was okay. When Cass knew she wasn’t gonna let go, Cassandra gently removed her hand. She watched as Rapunzel gently traced it with caution, love and fascination.
Rapunzel was fascinated by it. It was smoother than she thought it would be. It was also warm. She could feel the pulse of the moonstone and Cassandra’s beating heart beat at the same time as if they really were one. Rapunzel had never really touched the moonstone other than when she had to save Cass. But she wasn’t able to focus on the feeling of it because of her fear of losing her best friend.
It was different from the sunstone. While the sunstone, when touched, felt hot and filled her with a feeling of sunshine and hope; the Moonstone was a warmish-cool feeling that made her feel safe and protected.
Cassandra suddenly put her fingers under her chin and gently lifted her head. Rapunzel kept her hand on the stone as Cass looked down at her with an amazingly sweet smile. Leaning down, Cassandra gently caught her lips in a soft, loving kiss. “I love you, Raps.”
“I love you too, Cass.” Rapunzel smiled back just as sweetly as she gently traced the stone lovingly; it made Cassandra shiver. Rapunzel tilted her head to the side cutely. “Can you feel that?” Cassandra nodded. “What does it feel like?”
“Almost as if... you’re touching my heart directly. Everytime you touch it, I can feel... almost like lightning bolts sending shocks throughout my body.”
“Really?” Rapunzel asked then traced it again experimentally. She did not miss the way Cass bit her bottom lip or the look of pleasure passing through her eyes. “Does it feel... good?”
“Y-Yeah, actually. It’s a.. weird feeling but a good weird.” Rapunzel ran her thumb across it again, this time adding a little bit of pressure. This time, Cass couldn’t hold back a small groan.
“Hm, I could use this to my advantage.” Rapunzel responded while letting out a small mischievous grin. “What if I..” Rapunzel leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on the stone.
Cassandra, surprised by the sudden wave of pleasure, arched her back with a moan. “A-Ah!” She panted softly. “Raps, if you keep doing that, being gentle is gonna go out the window.”
“Is that really a bad thing?”
“Rapunzel, please, you’re still healing and I swear, I will lose control if you don’t stop.”
Rapunzel pouted. “Alright, alright.” She removed her hand and slowly climbed up Cassandra’s body before placing a small kiss on her lips. Cassandra smiled sweetly and pulled her into her arms. A couple minutes passed before anyone said anything. “Hey, Cass?”
“Yeah Raps?”
“I really thought I lost you... I was so scared.” Cassandra could tell she wasn’t just talking about her loss of control with the moonstone and blackstone magic.
Cassandra placed a gentle kiss on her head. “I thought I lost you too. When I found you gone, I just.... I had never felt such fear before. And when you.. you were bleeding so much Raps, after I regained control... I-I didn’t think you were gonna make it. If you had died because I couldn’t control myself, I just...” Cassandra shook her head as she held back tears. “I would’ve ran my sword through me, I swear to you.”
Rapunzel’s eyes softened as she gently placed a small kiss on Cassandra’s closed eye. “One thing that you should know by now about me is that I’m a fighter. I wasn’t going down without a fight.”
Cassandra let out a small, watery laugh. “Oh trust me, I know. How could I ever forget?” She placed a small kiss on Rapunzel’s forehead. Rapunzel giggled as she cuddled into her side.
“Hey Cass?” Rapunzel asked cautiously.
“Mhm?”
“C-Can you sing that song to me?”
Cassandra looked down at the younger girl in her arms and gave her a sweet smile. “Of course.” As Cassandra started to sing the melody Rapunzel thought she would never hear again, she found herself drifting off to sleep by the second verse. Cassandra gave her one of her rare smiles, pulled the blanket around them, and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. She let her lips rest there for another couple seconds before she finally pulled away. “Goodnight, my light.” She whispered. Rapunzel’s soft breathing started to lure her to sleep. Within minutes, both of them were deep into slumber. After all, it had been a very eventful couple weeks.
Although they tried to break apart the sun and moon, they still fought back and came back stronger.
“You failed.”
“It wasn’t my fault, I-” Samael tried to defend himself.
“I don’t want to hear it. You failed to complete the quest so in return, you’re going to do something for me.”
“Hold on a second, I don’t owe you anything!” Samael was suddenly hoisted in the air by a black shadowy mist that covered his throat. He choked as he scratched at his neck at the nearly invisible force slowly choking him to death. “Okay, okay!” He choked out. He was then dropped to the floor as he took quick shallow breaths.
“Keep an eye on them and wherever they go, report it back to me.”
“For how long?”
“For however long I say.” Zhan Tiri snarled.
“Fine, fine.” Zhan Tiri raised the stone again in warning. Samael’s eyes widened in fear as he bowed. “I mean... yes mam.”
“That’s better. Now leave my sight.” Samael quickly gathered himself and ran away.
“What’s the plan, Zhan Tiri?” Gothel asked.
“Well, since your plan failed, they now know that you’re alive. But they do not know that I am. We will keep an eye on them and when they’re least expecting it, we’ll attack. They already have the moonstone, thanks to you, but we cannot afford them to reach the sunstone or our plan for world domination is a bust. Clear?”
“Crystal.” Gothel responded with a smirk.
“We will not fail this time.” Zhan Tiri said with a triumphant smile.
“They’ll pay. They’ll all pay.” Gothel laughed.
All that could be heard was the sound of manic laughter.
