Rapunzel groaned as she tried to pry her eyes open. As she searched the dark room she was in, she could only think one thing: Where the hell was she? She looked around and realized it was a hospital room. Deadpanning, she groaned. They really needed to stop ending up in hospitals. She tried to move but winced. She hurt like hell. That's when everything hit her. What happened, how it happened and... Cassandra's terrified shouting of her name. She started to panic. Where was Cass? She must be seriously freaking out.

"C-Cass?" She tried to ask but her throat was dry and scratchy so she started coughing. Suddenly cold water was pressed against her lips and she greedily drank it. She then looked up and recognized the worried, relieved, full of tears, teal eyes staring back at her. "Cass.."

"You're okay," Cassandra finally spoke, her voice relief-filled. "You're okay." She repeated as if she didn't quite believe it. Only a couple seconds passed before Cassandra's eyes filled with tears and suddenly she was in Rapunzel's arms, on the bed, sobbing while being careful of her wounds. Rapunzel's eyes softened as she wrapped her arms around the sobbing woman who was pressing her face in the crook of her neck and tightly, but lightly, wrapping her arms around her stomach.

"Shh," Rapunzel soothed lovingly as she ran her hands through her tangled hair. "...It's okay, Cass. It's okay.. I'm here." Cassandra shook her head and tried to speak but she was unable to due to the force of her own sobs. Her body was shaking as she dug her face more into Rapunzel's neck.

"...I thought I lost you.." Cassandra's broken voice spoke after some minutes. "...I was so scared.."

Rapunzel gave her a lop-sided smile. "Now you know how I feel." She tried to joke but it only upset Cass more as she nuzzled herself tighter and closer into Rapunzel's body. Rapunzel's smile dropped as she sighed and continued running her hands through Cassandra's hair. It seemed to relax her somewhat, but she was still tense and still refused to let go of her. "Cassandra, sweetheart, I'm okay. I'm alive."

"...It was too close..." Cassandra mumbled. "...Way too close..."

"I know, hun, I know." Rapunzel pressed a loving kiss to her forehead and gave her a smile. "But I'm alive because of you." Cassandra shook her head.

"It was my fault you got hurt in the first place."

Rapunzel sighed. "Cass, we've been over this.."

Cassandra pulled back just enough so she could look her in the eye. But she still held onto her. "Rapunzel, if I had just believed you, you wouldn't have been.." Cassandra shook her head, still unable to say it. “I claim I trust you but I’ve done nothing to prove it.”

"It wouldn't have happened in the first place if that evil man didn’t hypnotize me. It's his fault, Cass. He was a horrible, horrible man. You didn't know. Please don't blame yourself, love." She gently stroked Cassandra's cheek then leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her lips.

"Raps.." Cassandra muttered and pulled her into her body. Cass choked back a sob as she placed a kiss on the top of her head. "...If I had lost you.. I don't know what I would have done."

Rapunzel cuddled into her. "It's a good thing that it didn't come to that then." Cassandra seemed to squeeze her eyes shut and hold Rapunzel closer; her body still shaking. Rapunzel's heart broke. She had never seen Cass like this before.. she must have seriously scared her. "Hey, love," Rapunzel wrapped her arms around Cassandra and ran her hands up and down her body in a comforting manner. "It's okay. I'm okay. I'm here."

Cassandra seemed to just hold her and Rapunzel let her. She knew Cass needed this. Neither knew how long it had been when Cass finally took a shaky breath and pulled away. Rapunzel pulled herself up to face-level as she placed a gentle kiss on her lips. "How long was I out?" She whispered.

"A week? I don't know, the days have blurred together." Cassandra muttered. "You were... unresponsive for the first two days though.."

Rapunzel's eyes softened as she nuzzled her. She then interlocked their fingers, taking notice that Cassandra had her ring back on, and looked deep into her eyes. "I'm sorry I scared you. I should've been paying attention.." Rapunzel gave her a small grin. "Guess I still have a lot to learn about, you know, paying attention to my surroundings so I don't get kidnapped."

Rapunzel's plan worked as Cass let out a small, watery laugh. "Yeah," She responded then her face fell. "But I don't plan on leaving your side ever again. The last couple times that I have.."

"Hey, we don't have to think about that." Rapunzel responded lovingly. "The important thing is.. we're okay."

Cassandra nodded then a sudden realization hit her. "God, Rapunzel, I've been so focused on myself... that I haven't even asked about how you're feeling. You were the one that went through.. all that."

Rapunzel's face fell. Cassandra could see the pain in her eyes, the fear, the agonizing pain of thinking about what happened, and a bunch of other emotions, but then suddenly she forced a smile. "I'm okay, Cass."

"Liar," Cassandra responded, giving her a small stern look. "After you.. af... after what happened, there's no way that-"

"Please don't make me talk about it right now." Rapunzel asked. It was filled with so much fear and pain.. It broke what was left of Cassandra's already shattered heart.

"...Okay." Cass responded. "We don't have to talk about it. But we're going to need to eventually... when you're ready."

Rapunzel looked down then back up to meet her eyes and nodded. "Okay." It was said so quietly that if Cassandra wasn't as close as she was, she wouldn't have heard it.

"I'm here, if you ever need to..."

Rapunzel gave her a small, tired, genuine smile. "I know Cass. Thank you." Cassandra gave her a small, loving smile and nodded.

Wanting to lighten the mood, and take Rapunzel’s focus away from the pain for a bit, Cassandra suddenly gave her a small mischievous grin. "Hey - guess what?"

"Wha-" She stopped, eyes widening. "Oh no, don't tell me.."

Cassandra laughed. "Yep." She presented the medication to her, the same Cass took the night they admitted to each other, and grinned. "Time for payback."

Rapunzel groaned. "Whatever happens, stays in here."

"Oh, trust me, it will. It won't leave us. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna tease you so bad for it."

Although she was not thrilled with probably making a fool of herself, she was glad for the change of topic as she groaned again. "Come on Cass! I didn't tease you!"

Cassandra raised an eyebrow. "That's a lie and you know it."

Rapunzel gave her a sheepish smile. "That didn't work, huh? I was hoping you wouldn’t remember."

"Nope."

"...Dammit." Cassandra gave her a surprised expression at her unusual use of dirty language. She only really ever cussed when she was severely mad or when they were doing couple stuff. Rapunzel raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"....It’s just so unlike you to cuss freely like that."

"I am pinned to a bed for who knows how long. I'm tired. My head hurts. Everything else hurts. I deserve to have a little cussing freedom."

Cassandra shrugged. "Fair." She then giggled, Cassandra giggled, (Cassandra never giggled, Rapunzel didn’t think Cass could get anymore adorable), as she gently tapped her index finger on her nose. "Now you know how I feel."

Rapunzel smiled at the sound of it. "Guess I do, huh? Now that the roles are switched, I can understand your frustration." Rapunzel then let out a small giggle and gave Cass a cheeky grin. "We really need to stop ending up in hospitals."

Cassandra let out a genuine laugh. "Yeah, we really do."

"I think we're equal now," Rapunzel giggled. "Rapunzel: 2, Cassandra: 2. Wonder who will be the tie-breaker." She joked.

Cassandra laughed. "Hopefully neither of us. I think we could use a break from near heart attacks."

Rapunzel giggled. "We need a vacation."

"I don't think such a thing exists for us." One look and both women burst out laughing. Once they calmed down, Cassandra gave Rapunzel a sweet, loving smile and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "I love you."

Rapunzel smiled and nuzzled her. "I love you too, love."

Cassandra chuckled. "Feeling extra affenionete today? That's like the 5th time you've called me a pet name."

Rapunzel rolled her eyes but giggled. "Yeah, well, someone is incredibly insecure. So, cute pet names are a must. Besides," Rapunzel nuzzled Cass’s nose with her own. "I love using them."

Cassandra rolled her eyes but a smile betrayed her. She would never admit it, but Rapunzel knew she loved the pet names as much as she did. Maybe even more. The small blush and tiny, love-sick smile Cassandra thought Rapunzel didn't notice after every time she used a pet name showed her true colors." Suit yourself." Then Cassandra smirked. "Hey, guess what time it is?"

Rapunzel's smile fell as she groaned. "No, please don't say it..-"

"Time for the medication." Rapunzel groaned again. "You forced me to take every single medication that the doctor prescribed for me. Now, I'm gonna force you."

Rapunzel grumbled. "Fine." She took the medicine from her and the cup of water and swallowed it.

Cassandra giggled, again, and patted her head. "Good girl." She joked. Rapunzel rolled her eyes.

It had been nearly an hour since Rapunzel took the medication. Cassandra could tell it kicked in considering the younger woman was just staring blankly up at the ceiling in a daze. Cassandra chuckled. "Raps?" Rapunzel flopped her to look at her.

"Hm?"

"You good?" Cassandra was trying incredibly hard to hold back her amused grin.

"Yeah," Rapunzel's sluggish voice responded. "...just feel weird. Everything is spinning."

Cassandra chuckled again. "Yeah, it does that. Just don't move around too fast or you'll get seriously dizzy and nauseous."

"I don't even think I can move.." This time Cassandra couldn't hide her amused grin as she hid her face in the book she was reading. "Don't think I don't see that, Cass."

Cassandra quickly put the book down, cleared her throat and leveled her face. "See what? I don't know what you're talking about."

"Uh-huh," Rapunzel responded sarcastically with a roll of her eyes. A couple minutes passed, which felt like seconds to Rapunzel, before Rapunzel spoke again. "Hey, Cass?"

"Yeah Raps?"

"Can you come cuddle with me?" Cassandra blushed deeply and looked like she was about to say no because she was trying to read her book but Rapunzel pulled the damn puppy dog eyes. "Please?" Cassandra groaned. How could she say no to that?

"Scooch over." Cass instructed as she began to walk towards the bed. Rapunzel gave her a happy grin as she moved over a bit without hurting herself. Cassandra climbed into the bed and as soon as she did, Rapunzel climbed into her arms and pressed her face in the crook of her neck, a happy smile plaguing her lips.

Cassandra rolled her eyes as she wrapped protective arms around the princess. "Happy?"

"Very." Rapunzel mumbled as she cuddled closer. "I love you, Cass." Rapunzel said after a minute or two.

Cass couldn't help but chuckle because damn was she cute like this. She was like a darn puppy and it was literally melting Cassandra's heart. "I love you too, Raps."

"Yeah?"

"Yep."

Rapunzel tilted her head up slightly so she could look at her and gave her a cheeky grin. "How much?"

"A lot." Cassandra responded without hesitation.

"Enough.. that you would give up your freedom?"

"You know it."

"Enough where you would wear a dress for me?"

"I've already done that."

"Hm.." Rapunzel thought for a second then she looked up and gave Cassandra the ultimate test. "Enough where you would quit fighting forever?"

"...Well..."

"Casss!" Rapunzel tried to whine but it came out as a laugh.

Cassandra laughed then nuzzled her, making the princess giggle. "Just kidding. I would give up anything and everything for you."

Rapunzel's eyes softened as she placed a kiss under her chin. "I would do the same for you."

"Even art?"

"Mhm."

"What about being barefoot?"

"Absolutely."

"Dancing?"

"Yep!"

"What about your freedom?"

Rapunzel gave her a sweet smile and pulled herself up so that they were eye-level then placed a kiss on the tip of her nose. "Anything." Cassandra's eyes softened as she tightened her hold on the princess without hurting her. She then leaned forward and gently pressed her lips to Rapunzel's, at first afraid she was gonna hurt her. Rapunzel seemed to have different ideas for she deepened the kiss and pulled Cass's body more firmly against hers; surprising the hell out of Cassandra. Rapunzel's arms wrapped themselves around her neck and as Cass tilted her head back slightly, Rapunzel let out a small moan. Before things could go too far, because Rapunzel was in no condition to do that (and Cassandra didn't know if she would be able to control herself if they continued), Cass pulled back and stared deep into Rapunzel's dazed, desire-filled eyes. Rapunzel tried to pull her closer for another passionate kiss, but knowing where this was going, Cassandra gently pushed her hands away.

"Raps, we can't. Not right now."

Rapunzel pouted. "Why not?"

Cassandra deadpanned and raised an eyebrow. "Uh, maybe because you nearly died a couple days ago."

"But I feel fine."

"Yeah, well, that's because you're on a serious amount of painkillers. And I don't want to risk opening anything again."

"We can be gentle.."

Cassandra chuckled. "You and I both know it's nearly impossible for either of us to be gentle."

Rapunzel squirmed herself closer as she pressed her body firmly against Cassandra's. She raised her leg and put it over Cass's hip to get even closer. Her breath fanned over Cassandra's lips as she stared deep into her eyes. "Come on, Cass. Please?"

"Raps, we can't." Cassandra whispered, her control slipping slightly. But she kept her resolve due to her fear of hurting her love. "Not right now. Not until you heal at least a little bit. I don't want to hurt you."

"You won't." Rapunzel whispered.

"You know we can't promise that. It's just too risky." Rapunzel pouted and looked downward. Cassandra hooked her fingers under Rapunzel's chin and gently directed her eyes back up towards her. "You know I would love more than anything to ravish you right here and now. But even though you're alive, you're still gravely injured and you need time to heal. I can't risk nearly losing you again."

"Cass, please," Rapunzel whined. "I need you. I want you."

Cassandra groaned. How could she say no to that? "I'll tell you what, I'll bring you to a release, gently, but that's it. No toy, no getting all worked up, none of that. That's the deal I'm making. Take it or leave it."

Rapunzel seemed to consider it for a second before she looked back up at her wife and nodded. "But after I heal.."

"Then I'll definitely make it up to you." Cassandra gave her a suggestive grin, causing Rapunzel's eyes to darken.

"Okay. But you better seriously make it up to me. Promise?”

Cassandra chuckled. "Don't worry, I will. I promise you that." Rapunzel nodded. Cassandra seemed to take that as an answer as she leaned the rest of the way forward and caught Rapunzel's lips into a searing, passionate kiss. Rapunzel groaned and tightly grasped her shirt with both of her hands, pulling her closer. Cassandra had to remind herself to keep control as she sensually ran her hand down Rapunzel's body. She ran her hand over her stomach, making the younger girl shiver, before she pulled the princess's dress over her head and threw it onto the floor. Cassandra pulled back for a second and she let out a small frown as she saw the black and blue nasty bruises and cuts covering her entire body. Her anger for the man that did this to her returned full-on and she wished she could bring him back to life just to give him an even more painful death.

Cassandra noticed how Rapunzel looked downward with an ashamed look. Cassandra's eyes softened as she gently directed her eyes back to her. "Hey, Raps, don't do that. You're still as beautiful as ever."

"But-"

"No buts. They will fade over time, but it doesn't matter either way. You're still as gorgeous as when I first lay my eyes on you. Maybe even more."

Rapunzel blushed deeply at the compliment but she still looked unconvinced and insecure. Once more, Cassandra cursed the man that tainted her usually confident wife's thoughts. "Are you sure?"

"Positive.” She still looked unconvinced. “I promise you, Rapunzel."

Rapunzel slowly nodded. "Okay," She whispered. "I trust you."

Cassandra gave her a sweet smile before she resumed kissing her. With a careful and gentle caress, she gently ran her hand over her body in a loving, soft manner to show her that she really did mean it. Rapunzel seemed to visually relax into her touch and push herself closer. Cassandra grazed her hand down her body before she slowly pushed her hand into Rapunzel's underwear, all the while never stopping kissing her. Rapunzel let out a moan as Cassandra rubbed her in her most sensitive spots. It was when she entered her with three fingers that had Rapunzel pull away. "A-Ah!" Rapunzel dug her face into Cassandra's chest as she tightly gripped her shirt so much that her fists were turning white.

Cassandra placed open-mouthed, hot kisses on her neck, jaw, face and shoulders and wherever else she could reach as she pumped in and out of her. Rapunzel moans grew as the younger woman continued to press herself more firmly against her. Cassandra added a fourth finger then she put some pressure on her clit with her thumb. Then she rubbed. It made Rapunzel fall over the edge with a quick, but amazing, relief. Just what Cass was hoping for.

As Rapunzel tried to catch her breath, Cassandra removed her fingers and wiped them on her shirt before she nuzzled the still dazed, panting young woman. "Better?" Rapunzel could only nod. "Good."

Once Rapunzel was able to regain control of her breathing patterns, she nuzzled herself into Cassandra. "Thank you love.."

Cassandra chuckled. "Uh-huh. Now you should get some rest."

Rapunzel suddenly blushed and pulled back to look at her. "C-Can you take off your clothes too?" Cassandra gave her a dead-panned look. "N-not for that! I just.. I love feeling your skin against mine because you're so warm and it calms me.." Rapunzel's face was probably incredibly red at this point as she struggled for an excuse to feel Cassandra's warm skin against her own. She was avoiding eye-contact and she had a seriously adorable, flustered expression. "I-I just.. P-please?" This time she did look up at her but the flustered, hopeful expression never left her face.

For like the third time that day, Cassandra couldn't find it in her to say no to her as she sighed and began removing her own clothing until they were both in their underwear and bras. Rapunzel immediately cuddled into her warmth, making Cassandra blush as she pulled the blanket over them then wrapped her arms protectively around the princess and pulled her closer. She could see another slightly embarrassed expression cross Rapunzel's face, meaning she was about to ask something else, but this time, Cass already knew what she wanted.

"You want me to sing the song, don't you?"

Rapunzel's blush deepened at being read through as she looked up and slowly nodded. "I-If you don't mind.."

Cassandra gave her a loving smile and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Of course I will, hun." Rapunzel returned the smile and cuddled closer into her, digging her face in the crook of her neck, as Cassandra started to sing. As the lullaby of her favorite melody, as well as the lullaby of her favorite person, started to lure her asleep, she only thought two things.

How much she loved Cassandra.

And how the medication wasn't all that bad.
