Romance Fan Fiction / Other Fan Fiction ❯ Stars Above - A Cassunzel Fanfic ❯ Chapter 28: New Parenthood ( Chapter 28 )
Cassandra groaned and placed her pillow over her head as the sounds of a baby cry could be heard. It had been a couple days since little Nova was born and the little rascal was quite a troublemaker. Like most parents, Cassandra and Rapunzel's sleep schedule was whenever they had time to pass out. Which was rare.
Cassandra heard a sigh next to her, meaning Rapunzel also gave up on trying to sleep, and she removed the pillow from her head as she grumpily flopped to her back. She turned to the equally grumpy Rapunzel. "Can't we just ignore it?"
Rapunzel rubbed at her eyes. "You know we can't do that. Besides, it's your turn to get her."
Cassandra groaned. "Why me?"
"Because I did it last time."
"You're better at helping her fall asleep." Rapunzel turned her head to the side and glared at her. Cassandra looked away and began to get up. "Fine, fine."
As she left the room, she heard: "Thank you love." Cassandra mumbled with a grumpily 'uh-huh'.
Cass flipped on the switch to Nova's room and stood above her crib. "Alright squirt, what is it this time?" The baby sniffled and put her hands towards her like she was reaching for something. Nova whimpered then reached further. Cass sighed and picked up the small baby and cradled her in her arms. She immediately calmed down and snuggled into Cassandra's chest. "You made a big fuss over just wanting to be picked up?" Nova looked up at her with her emerald green eyes and blinked a couple times. "You are definitely your mothers kid."
"I heard that." She looked up to see Rapunzel leaning against the door frame with her arms crossed and an eyebrow raised. "And if I recall, you are the one who's always demanding attention." Rapunzel pushed herself off the doorframe and started walking towards them.
"Alright miss attention seeker," Cassandra responded then playfully softly shoved the princess with a small, tired grin. Rapunzel rolled her eyes but otherwise let out a small giggle. Cass sat down in the armchair with Nova still in her arms and Rapunzel cuddled next to her. Cassandra seemed to be lost to the world for a second as she cooed and gently rocked their daughter. Rapunzel watched her with a sweet smile and a warmed heart.
When Cassandra finally came back to the world, she chuckled at the look Rapunzel was giving her. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"For someone who claims they aren't 'a nurturer' or aren't good with kids, you're a natural." Cassandra looked away and blushed. Rapunzel giggled and gently elbowed her in the side. "You're such a big softy, you know that?"
Still blushing, Cassandra mumbled: "Pft, only for you two."
"Yeah, your 'I'm so tough, fear me or I will cut you down' act never worked on me."
"Yeah, that was pretty stupid on your part."
"Orrrr maybe, here me out, I saw you for who you really were instead of how you presented yourself."
"I quite literally tried everything to get you to leave me alone but you always came back no matter what I said or did."
Rapunzel giggled and leaned up to kiss her cheek. "And I always will. You never scared me, not once, because I knew you would never hurt me."
"Because you're a princess and I'd be thrown in jail?"
Rapunzel rolled her eyes at her joke. "No, Cass, because that wasn't who you were. Besides, when it was just you and I, you were really sweet and cute."
"I don't think 'cute' really describes me."
"Cute is the perfect way to describe you, my big softy." Cassandra blushed deeply as Rapunzel placed a kiss under her chin.
"What about the first time I had the moonstone?"
"What about it?"
"Were you scared of me then?"
Rapunzel paused for a second before responding. "I wasn't scared of you, I was scared for you. And I guess I was scared for myself a bit too. Not because I feared you were gonna hurt me," Rapunzel gently rubbed her finger over her knuckles. "But because I couldn't bear the thought of losing you. Especially considering it would have been my fault.”
"Hey," Cassandra nudged her with her other hand so she would look up at her. "...It wasn't your fault. Zhan Tiri played me against my own emotions."
"And who put those emotions there? She played you against the emotions I made you feel."
"Raps, I was mad at the world. Those emotions had been there for a long, long time but I always pushed them away. Sure, what was happening with our relationship gave me.. the final push to take action but it was never you in the first place." Cassandra paused. "...I just took it out on you because you were the closest thing to me. And somewhere deep down, I knew that... you were the only one that could save me and the only one who wouldn't stop fighting for me."
"I don't think you wanted to be 'saved', Cass."
"That's what I kept telling myself. But I was scared and I was hurt.. and I just needed someone. Someone who could understand. We were in a rough patch, so when I met Zhan Tiri, even though I didn't know she was Zhan Tiri, I thought she could help me. But once I realized I was being led in the wrong direction, I didn't know how to- I couldn't stop. It was already too late and I stopped fighting for myself. So, deep down, I hoped... that you wouldn't stop fighting for me too. That's why when Project Obsidian went off, I came to a realization that I really had nothing left, so I said 'screw it' and just.. let go."
Rapunzel's eyes softened as she leaned and placed a small kiss on her lips. "I'll never stop fighting for you."
Cassandra gave her a small smile. "I know."
Rapunzel returned the smile then it dropped and she gave her a serious expression. "You do know that I never meant for Project Obsidian to go off, right? I never wanted to authorize it. I never wanted to hurt you, not in a million years. But the people were scared... I was scared and in a moment of weakness, I gave in. It was never meant to be used, though. It was supposed to only be a very last resort. And I knew it wouldn't have to come to that. I still have no idea how it went off..."
"It's in the past, Raps. It was a tough situation and I get it - at least, now I do. I don't even know what I was capable of.."
Rapunzel giggled. "You threw me through a wall."
"You blasted me off of a tower."
"You tried to blast me off of a tower."
"You...." Cassandra searched for a response and knowing she wouldn't find one, Rapunzel smirked. Cassandra gave her a playful glare and nudged her. "Ugh, I'll think of something later." Rapunzel giggled, making Cassandra grin. It was then that they heard soft snores coming from Cassandra's chest. Looking down, they both smiled at the sleeping baby in Cass's arms.
Cassandra stood up and gently placed her in her crib before placing her blanket over her carefully. They both stood over the crib, watching their daughter peacefully sleep, before Cass wrapped her arm around Rapunzel's waist and pulled her close. She kissed her forehead softly. "I love you."
Rapunzel smiled and leaned into her. "I love you too. Now, come on, let's get back to the room before she wakes up." With that, they both walked back to their room. Cassandra gently shut the door behind her with a click then stopped short as she watched her wife hum some sort of soft tune, her back turned to her, then she gently traced her curvy backside with her eyes. Cassandra licked her suddenly dry lips before she walked forward and wrapped her arms around her stomach from behind and placed a loving, but sexy kiss on her neck. She then gently rocked into her. She couldn't help herself.
Rapunzel let out a surprised moan but otherwise stayed still. "Cass, we can't. What if Nova wakes up again?"
"You know once Nova is asleep, she's out like a light. Come on Rapunzel, it's been way too long." Cassandra gently blew in her ear, making the younger girl shiver. "I promise I'll make it worth your while~." Rapunzel let out another groan as Cassandra thrusted into her a second time.
"I don't know, Cass.." Cass could already feel her facade was slipping as she sensually dragged her hand down her body. Rapunzel stiffened when Cass's hand nearly made it to its destination. Cass stopped short, teasing her, in hopes it would get her to say yes. It worked. "Ugh, fine." As Rapunzel swung around and caught her lips in a fiery kiss, Cassandra couldn't help but let out a victorious grin into the kiss. Rapunzel harshly, but gently, elbowed her. Cassandra's grin only widened.
The kiss started to grow more passionate and desperate by the minute as they tugged at each other's clothes. In a matter of seconds, both women were naked. Cassandra picked up Rapunzel and all but threw her on the bed before climbing on top of her and resuming the passionate kiss. Panting and surprised by the rougher than usual treatment, Rapunzel pulled away for a second. "Alright, miss feisty, let's see what you got."
Cassandra grinned and leaned in, their lips barely an inch apart. "You challenging the wolf again, rabbit?"
Rapunzel also grinned. "I don't know. Depends on how ballsy my wolf is tonight."
"Well, let's go through the list. We haven't done anything for nearly a month, I'm slightly aggravated by the lack of sleep, I'm turned on as all hell, and my wife is ripe for the picking. I think that equals pretty damn ballsy. One thing is for sure: I'm definitely not holding back tonight."
"Is this one of those nights where I'm gonna hate you in the morning because I can't walk?"
"Try: you're gonna hate me for the next 4 days."
"Well, let's see what you got," Rapunzel's voice lowered a couple octaves. "...My wolf."
"Oh, I'll show you alright," Cassandra promised before crashing her lips to hers once more. Rapunzel groaned into the kiss as she wrapped her arms around Cassandra's neck and pushed herself up so that she could better kiss her. Cassandra's tongue suddenly invaded her mouth and pretty much ravished her. Cassandra suddenly thrusted against her, making the younger woman throw her head back and moan.
With one hand, Cassandra grabbed their toy and hooked it up in a matter of seconds. Without a second to waste, she thrusted deeply into her. Rapunzel had to quickly slap a hand over her mouth to silence her pleasure-filled cry. Cass made haste and immediately started pounding into her wildly. Rapunzel kept her hand over her mouth to muffle her moans. Panting, Cass leaned down, removed her hand and once more, crashed her lips to hers.
Cassandra pulled back as she grabbed her hips for leverage. "Who do you belong to, Raps?"
"...Mmm.. you.. Cass.." Rapunzel was able to manage out.
"Good." Cassandra rewarded her by suddenly flipping her around and entering her from behind, hitting deep into that sweet spot that brought her lover mind-blowing pleasure. Rapunzel's moans grew as she buried her face into the pillow and tightly gripped the sheets. Cass traced her backside before she placed her hands on her hips and started pounding into her like never before. Rapunzel had to squeeze her eyes shut because she was unable to keep them open anymore. Cassandra then reached down between them and put pressure on her clit. That was the final push because Rapunzel's eyes shot open, her mouth went slack, and her body nearly convulsed. Not a second later, Cassandra followed her into sweet euphoria as she tightly wrapped her arms around her stomach and stilled her hips to a halt.
When Cass was able to catch her breath, she pulled out and let go of Rapunzel, making the younger woman fall, then took off the toy and plopped next to her; still panting. Rapunzel turned to her lover, still panting as well, and gave her a satisfied grin. "It's been waaayy too long."
Cassandra couldn't help but let out a breathless laugh. "Yeah, yeah it has."
Rapunzel's eyes suddenly softened as she gave Cass a sweet smile and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I love you, Cass. I'm glad you were able to convince me to have the courage to leave Corona."
Cassandra smiled and wrapped her arm around her, bringing her closer. "You had the courage on your own, Raps."
Rapunzel let out a small yawn as her eyes slowly drifted shut. "But I wouldn't have been able to do it without you." Her voice was tired and slurred as she slowly drifted off to sleep. She tried to stay awake, but lack of sleep decided to overcome her as her eyes closed the rest of the way and she fell into peaceful slumber.
Hearing soft snores, Cassandra chuckled softly and placed a kiss on her forehead. Cass could see through their blinded window that the sun was coming up. She let out a small yawn herself but before she could drift off, sounds of crying could be heard from the other room. Cass groaned. "How does she always know when it's morning?" She grumbled to herself.
Looking down, Rapunzel stirred slightly but Cassandra gently ran her hand through her hair to get her to stay in a peaceful slumber. Rapunzel immediately relaxed. "I guess it's time to get up and face the day then." Cass groaned slightly before she gently pried herself away from her wife and got off the bed to put some clothes on. Her love needed rest, she was more than capable to take care of things while she slept. Before she left the room, she gently placed the blanket on her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Rapunzel smiled and snuggled into the blanket. Cassandra turned off the lights and shut the door with a soft click.
She rubbed at her tired eyes as she made her way towards her daughter's bedroom. The baby was still crying by the time she got there. "Alright, Nova," Cassandra said softly as she picked her up. "Momma's trying to sleep so shhh.." Seemingly, it did nothing to calm the little girl down. "You're probably hungry, huh?" As if on cue, Nova's stomach growled as she sniffled. Cassandra chuckled. "Right, let's get you some grub."
Cassandra walked to the kitchen with Nova still in her arms as she opened the fridge and grabbed the bottled milk that was from Rapunzel. Rapunzel and Cassandra decided to bottle feed little Nova instead of breast-feeding her. Nova was still too young to drink regular milk and although she's not breast-feeding, it's still the necessary milk Nova needs to grow. Cassandra sat in one of the chairs and started bottle-feeding their daughter. Nova immediately started drinking. Cassandra chuckled. "Slow down or you're gonna make yourself sick." Nova only looked up at her with her bright green eyes and continued to drink but this time, slower. "There you go." Cass soothed. "That's my girl."
When Nova was done, she let out a couple hiccups. Cass gently patted the baby's back as she let out a little burp. Cassandra then held her up in front of her. "Come on, let's make your momma some breakfast." Nova giggled and reached out to grab her hair. "Oh, no you don't," Cass said softly before pulling her away. Cassandra then nuzzled the baby, making her laugh. "I would like to keep my hair, thank you very much." Cass gently placed her in her day crib before getting to work.
Rapunzel awoke to the aroma of food. Good smelling food. Rubbing the rest of sleep from her eyes, she swung her legs over the edge and stood up. Then she fell back down on the bed with a wince. Cursing under her breath and wanting to kill her lover, she pushed herself up and got some clothes on before she opened the door and followed the sweet aroma. She followed it to the kitchen but when she got there, she stopped in her tracks.
What she saw before her was Cassandra, dressed in a tight t-shirt and slim-fighting pants, cooing and playing with Nova in a soft, loving tone she never heard her use before. The baby giggled and reached up at her and seemed to be enjoying the little game they were playing. Rapunzel also took notice of the neatly placed food on the table. She wore a beautifully happy smile; a smile that Rapunzel had never seen on her before. She was practically glowing at this point. And just like that, her thoughts of wanting to murder her wife for destroying her went out the window.
Rapunzel didn't know how long she stood there for but Cassandra seemed to finally take notice that she was there and looked up at her with a brilliant smile. "Morning, sleeping beauty."
Rapunzel's body seemed to finally catch up with her as she blushed lightly then smiled and walked over to her, placing a small kiss on her cheek. "Morning, Cass. I was a little displeased to find you not in bed but I'm not disappointed for the reason why." She teased.
Cassandra laughed. "Yeah, Nova decided to wake up at the break of dawn so I decided that I might as well get things started while I'm up."
Rapunzel gave her a sweet smile. "You didn't have to do all this, Cass. You could've gotten me."
"I know," Cass responded with a smile. "But I wanted to. And you needed to sleep."
Rapunzel seemed to make herself comfortable in Cass's lap as Cass held Nova with her other arm. Rapunzel leaned over and placed a small morning kiss on her lips. "You're so sweet, you know that?"
Cass blushed but otherwise smiled. "Only for you two."
"If you were sweet like this to anyone else, I might have to kill them." Rapunzel teased.
Cassandra laughed. "Yeah, sure you would," She said sarcastically. "You wouldn't hurt a fly."
"Hm, you should know better by now than to doubt me, Cassandra. My jealousy most likely oversees everything else."
"As if I would be like that with someone else." Cassandra suddenly grinned. "It would ruin my reputation."
"Cass!" Rapunzel laughed and gently swatted at her, making the older woman laugh.
"I'm joking. You two are the only ones who are ever gonna see this side of me."
Rapunzel smiled and pressed her lips softly to hers. "Good. You're mine," Rapunzel wrapped her arms around her neck while still sitting in her lap.
Cassandra chuckled. "Feeling extra possessive and clingy today, are we?"
"Yep." Rapunzel responded simply.
Cass playfully rolled her eyes before she handed Nova to her. "Come on, let's eat before it gets cold." Right on cue, Rapunzel's stomach growled.
Rapunzel licked her lips before she got off of Cass, Nova still in her arms, and sat at one of the tables enthusiastically. "Yes, let's!" Cass chuckled at her kiddish enthusiasm then sat down across from her. Rapunzel took a bite and her mouth immediately exploded in flavor. "Cass, this is so good!" She took another bite before raising an eyebrow with a sly, but almost surprised, grin. "I didn't know you could cook."
Cass blushed lightly at her compliment but chuckled as she picked at her own plate. "I took up some lessons a couple years ago. But I supposed I always knew how too. I think I taught myself when I lived with Gothel."
Rapunzel gave her a small smile. "Yeah, I had to teach myself too. Why haven't you ever said anything?"
"Because I prefer your food. But you needed to rest so I whipped something up." Rapunzel smiled and reached across the table to place her hand on top of Cassandra's as she gently traced her ring and rubbed her knuckles with her thumb.
"You're such a sweetheart. I’m so lucky to be married to you."
Cassandra blushed. "It's really no big deal, Raps."
Rapunzel's smile softened. "It is to me."
Cass looked away as her blush deepened. "W-Well, glad you like it." Rapunzel had to hold back a giggle at her adorable flustered state. Some things never changed. Both women went into comfortable silence as they ate their food, their hands never leaving each other.
"The baby was born, my lady," Zhan Tiri's servant bowed.
"Excellent," She responded with an animalistic grin. "You have three days to kidnap it and bring it to me at once. Make sure you're followed. Do I make myself clear?"
"Crystal." The servant smirked before disappearing.
"So, what's the plan Zhan?" Gothel asked.
"We wait until he brings us the child. Rapunzel and her protector will most certainly follow. That's when we'll attack. We will kill the child in front of them. They will be so heartbroken that it will be a piece of cake to grab the moonstone and end their pathetic little lives."
"Sounds like a plan." Gothel smirked.
Zhan Tiri looked out the window. "Our time has finally come. Be ready, Rapunzel and Cassandra, for we are finally getting the revenge we deserve." Zhan Tiri then turned and started to walk away. "Get ready for a showdown. The age of Zhan Tiri has begun." She said before she disappeared. Gothel's smirk never left her face. She could care less about world domination. All she wanted was to get her revenge on her so-called 'daughter' that ruined her life. Rapunzel was going to pay for ever defying her.
