"Come to me." He always whispered. His voice a soothing caress. His eyes a blue flame she would always see in the depths of her mind yet never know. His touch she would never know. A mere dream of reality. Who was he that he could reach her in the deepest of sleeps? It was He, whoever He would be, that had awoken her. Whispering her name, temptaion in his words. In her mind, her deepest thoughts, he was her connection.

His voice echoed again in her mind. "Come to me, my sweet Rose."

As the last words faded the sun set. The sky vivid colors of orange, pink, and yellow. The darkness folding over them. A whispered word from her lips and the soil about her body flew into the air like a gyser. Her feet touched the ground, her eyes opening slowly. Not a speck of dirt covered her body. Her lips curved upward as she inhaled the night air.

Distant sounds she heard in the distance before she slowly blocked them out, her mind occupied with other thoughts. He had said her name this time. What was He? Who was He? This creature who haunted her dreamless days of rest? His eyes she could still see as if she felt them. A blue burning flame seeing clear to her soul.

The hunger coursing through her veins made itself known as it always did when she rose. The beast, a deadly thing she held in, urged her to feed. To sate her lust for blood. How could she resist?

Slowly her body contorted. Bones snapping. Joints moving almost painfully but she had grown accustumed to it centries ago. Fur rippled across her body. A silvery white against the darkness strouding the forest. Her eyes slanted, a nuzzle appearing where her nose had been, fangs protruding. Mere moments later she stood on all fours, the form of a white wolf. The night called to her. Whispering of temptation in its small voice. As she ran the wind blew against her gently, ruffling and moving through her fur. It was a delight to do this. To run and be free.

Lights loomed ahead. The city awake in its small glory of night. She could hear their hearts beating. The rush of blood coursing through their veins and the hunger intentensified. Oh how wonderful, the little voice whispered, it would be to take the last drop and end her preys life. To sate herself fully.

She had done so in her early years of life, before her parents had taught her better. To even think of her loved one's brought tears to her eyes. Were all of her kind dead? Her life was her own, destroying those who would kill for their own pleasure. Taking life because it brought them ecsasy. The Vampire. An enemy of her kind. People who knew of her kind would think she, or her kind was a vampire. They were far from the truth. Rose was a Carpathian. One would say they were almost the same, considering a Vampire was one, a male, who used to be a Carpathian. The males of her race lose all their emotions after the first hundred or so years of their life.

All ability to see in color, feel any kind of emotion. Love, hatred, fear, anything. After that they fight emotionally to stay from killing. Unless they have no reason, the beast in them raging within. If they were to give up their souls, just to feel emotion again they would become a Vampire, the undead. A killing machine but there was one way to stop that. All male Carpathians have a lifemate, there other half, the other part to them. If they find them, the female would bring back all emotion they lost back to them, saving them. But the females of her race barly survive the first couple years of their life, and they did not know why. But most of the Carpathian race was gone, died out or the males have turned or have been killed. A few still lived but she did not know of that for sure. Their races were simular in some ways. They both could not be about in daylight though Carpathians could be out in some light. They both drank blood to survive.

A hissing sigh escaped her lips, she herself had grown tired of this bleak existence she called life. No will to live and this night would be her last, for when the sun next rose she would welcome its light, meet the dawn to end her life. Tonight she would live to its fullest.

"Ah." Rose mumured. Smiling as she landed amongst the middle of the on going people, none noticed she had just dropped out of thin air amongst them. Her body shifting back into human form. She seemed human enough with her brunette shoulder length hair, her skin was pale but not in a bad way. Rather beautiful, like soft silk to the touch. But her eyes were what stood out, a deep yet light emerald green. She felt the chill in the air, bringing her coat about her as she sensed out. Homing in on the one person who needed her.

No one noticed as she leapt up into the air, landing on the edge of the tall rundown building. Rose knew who she would feed off of this night. His pain she could easily feel. His need for comfort. She had what he needed, and he had what she needed. Craved. A small glow suffused her eyes before she closed them. Her voice rang out in a haunting melody as she called him to her. "Venez ? moi. Je vous enl?verai. ? un monde rempli des merveilles..." (Come to me. I'll take you away. To a world filled of wonders...)

He stumbled to her, his feet carrying him up the ragged stairs to her. He wasnt old but neither was he young. His pain, though it was emotional was ragged and deep. He had no family. Would even kill himself this night if it wasnt for her. Rose appeared before him in but a flash. He stared, caught in her trance.

Her lips touched the skin of his neck. The scent of his blood a sweet toxin to her. She could hear the blood rushing through every vein and cell in his body, loud in her ears. Her inscisors lengthened and her tongue flicked over them before she sank them deep into his neck over the vein. She almost staggered from the sweet, warm coppery taste filling her mouth. She drank her feel, or what she would take until she sensed him weaken but not much. Her tongue swept over the twin prick marks she'd made, healing them so not a trace of this would be left. Her lips moved up to his ear, a soft caress before her voice feeled his mind. "Remember this not..."
