We all know and love the train stations of Japan's popular Yamanote line, some of us even remember them drunk for the sole purpose of a game: Shinjuku, Shin- okubo, Takadanobaba, Mejiro, Ikebukuro, Otsuka, Sugamo, Komagome, Tabata, Nishi-Nippori, Uguisudani, Ueno, Okachimachi, Akihabara, Kanda, Tokyo, Yurakucho, Shimbashi, Hamamatsucho, Tamachi, Shinagawa, Osaki, Gotanda, Meguro, Ebisu, Shibuya, Harajuku, Yoyogi, all in its respective circle to continue once more from Shinjuku. Please forgive this silly tale, of Yamanote's stations and their silly love lives.
Would you fall in love with a train station?
Let's start from the basics of basics, I'm an anime fan and more than proud to admit it and as the saying goes, there is no place like home. I'll begin the silly story from my homelands, the places I go to set myself free (by lightening my wallet): Ikebukuro and Akihabara. Now what do these two have in common beyond being on the same line, and my love for them? I would hope to continue to read to find out. ..
Ikebukuro: the definition of Ikemen, the ideal man: gorgeous, fit, smart, an anime fan, hard working, and to top it all off: a butler. What a woman wouldn't give to be his lover, shame but as well all know, perfect men are always of fruity taste. Kuro's obsession with Akihabara (Aki for short) could put any anime fan to shame. Kuro had always dreamed of a forbidden romance, a butler and a maid, a grouping of which could never be possible as both were to devote their mind and bodies solely for their masters, and their masters alone. Such an impossible dream, but of course he couldn't help but dream of it.
Now Akihabara was no maid, he absolutely refused to be shoved into a frilly clump of cloth and mortified for hours on end. He may allow them to roam his station but he would be killed by the sheer idea of imitating the high frequency of those voices. No matter how much he loved Ikebukuro, or visited the café he worked at solely to be around him and be treated like a princess…er… prince, he refused to degrade himself to such a low level to try and seduce the older boy. After all, Ikebukuro was mainly to cater to female otaku while he was stuck with the pungent, obese males. Not to say that he didn't occasionally have some very nice looking ones come in him to visit for electronics- however the norm was of course, the unwanted. The point is- they just weren't meant to work together, they were separate for a reason or so he wanted to believe. But somehow he still found his way over to Kuro's station once or twice a week for a delicious cake set at a decent price with plenty of eye candy to enjoy as opposed the loud, expensive, obnoxious excuse for maids that plagued his homeland.
Now that the base background information is over, shall we start this crazy idea? Please come along on this silly ride and learn about the forbidden romances and secret workings of the trains of Tokyo.
