[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
Hello! * Izzy grins * I decided to try to finish my Kento's Intervention and I um... Ended up getting an idea for a different fic. It's kinda' plot? What plot? And I probably have major out of character-ness. (Give Izzy-chan a break. She hasn't watched Ronin Warriors in a while.) Oh! I have only seen the cut versions of the show and I've never seen the OAV's (Just so you know). Oh and I don't own Ronin Warriors, blah, blah, blah!!! Sorry about the boring stuff and on with the fic!
Warnings: YAOI. If ya' don't know what that is, you probably shouldn't be reading this. And I warned you so don't complain to me (It's happened before and it's annoying after I stick in a stupid warning!)

The street-lamps casted eerie shadows along the empty sidewalk, well it wasn't completely empty. Sage was out. The clubs were rapidly becoming dull. The street seemed to be calling, beckoning for him to journey out. As he walked, he pondered. He wondered when his life became so boring. Inside he knew the answer. Ever since the last battle with Talpa, life had changed. Sure he saw one of the others once in awhile, but it wasn't the same. He was lonely, plain and simple. He sighed to himself, flicking his hair out of his eyes.
Someone bumped into him.
"Sorry," a familiar voice muttered.
"Cale?" Sage's visible violet eye widened in shock.
"Sage of the Halo, you're the last person I expected to see."
Cale seemed completely different from the last time Sage saw him. He looked paler and thinner, especially in the dark clothing he had on.
"What are you doing here?" Sage asked.
"Apparently not trying to take over the world. I'm trying to live my life normally."
"Want coffee? There's a café a little ways from here," Sage found himself offering. Well why not? Cale obviously wasn't trying to kill him, and it would be nice to have some company for a change.
"Okay," Cale agreed. He followed Sage to a cozy looking coffeehouse. Since it was sort of late, the place was practically empty. They picked a booth and ordered.
"So, what have you been doing?" Sage asked.
"Writing," Cale answered before taking a sip of his coffee. He swallowed. "I'm currently working on a novel, but if I need the money I'll do a magazine article or something like that."
"That's interesting. What made you decide to come to earth again?"
Cale shrugged. "I guess I needed to get away for awhile. I don't really have a reason. How are the other Ronins?"
"All right. I don't see them very often though."
Cale cocked his head to the side. "Why not?"
"After the final battle we decided to go our separate ways," Sage explained looking into Cale's eyes. They had changed. They used to be cold and emotionless. Now they were warm and understanding, caring even. Strangely, Sage felt as if he could confide in Cale, so he did.
They talked for a couple hours about the past as well as the present. Sage found that he enjoyed Cale's company. He was reluctant to leave, but it was getting very late. They were both fairly tired.
"Maybe we can talk more later?" Cale said questioningly.
Sage smiled slightly. "Sure. I'll see you around."

For the next couple months Cale and Sage met in the coffeehouse and kept each other company. Sage was getting used to spending time with the ex-warlord. Then Cale had to leave for a couple weeks to make a deal on his novel. Sage began to feel depressed. He started drinking heavily.
Luckily, Cale found him when he was completely drunk.
"Come on Sage. Let's go to my place." Cale supported the inebriated Sage. Gods, what was Sage thinking? Cale unlocked his door and led sage into his bedroom, seating him on the bed.
"I'll be right back," he murmured.
"No. What will it take for you to stay?" Sage slurred.
"What?" Cale was taken aback. Cale became even more shocked as Sage began unbuttoning his shirt. Sage's hands stroked Cale's chest while his mouth kissed at Cale's neck.
"Sage..." Cale couldn't finish his protest. Instead he found himself moaning and pulling Sage closer as Sage's mouth found a nipple. It was far too long since Cale had last been with someone and it felt so good. Somehow, he found the strength to push Sage away.
Sage looked confused, "Don't you want me?"
Oh god, Cale wanted nothing more than to rip off Sage's clothing and take him right then. He managed to say, "You're drunk. You'll regret it in the morning."
"No I wouldn't," Sage protested.
"That's the alcohol talking. If you really want to, ask me again sometime when you're sober. Now get some sleep."
***(Morning)
Sage awoke to the smell of freshly made coffee. He sat up, letting the sheets fall from his body. Sheets, he noted, that were not his own. He groaned. What had happened last night? Through his pounding headache, he tried to recall what occurred. He remembered the flashing lights of the bar, drinking one after another, Cale bringing him to the apartment, and... Oh god! Sage ran his hands through his unruly golden hair. What had he done? No, the question was why the hell had he done it? Sure he liked Cale's company and he was lonely, but it didn't mean that he wanted to have sex with the ex-warlord.
A knock on the door interrupted his train of thoughts. "Yes?"
Cale opened the door. He was carrying a tray with eggs, toast, and coffee.
"I made you some breakfast and brought some aspirin."
"Thank you." Sage took the tray, setting it on his lap.
Cale paused before leaving. "If you want to stay here and rest awhile you can. I don't mind."
"I think I might," Sage replied softly. He had no idea how to act. Last night he practically threw himself at the man. Cale was being very generous despite that fact. That made Sage wonder if Cale was truly opposed to it. Sage shook his head. Where had that thought come from? He focused on the meal Cale had given him and tried to eat.
Cale busied himself with writing an article for a magazine. For some reason, his gaze kept flickering to the closed door of his bedroom. He knew the reason. He was worried about Sage. He wondered if he should go talk to him. Should he even bring up what happened last night or let it go? Well, it seemed that Sage made the decision for him.
Sage nervously stepped out of the safety of the room. He knew he had to face Cale sooner or later. It seemed that sooner was better. As Sage walked towards him, Cale's eyes seemed focused on his every move. It was kind of unnerving. Sage couldn't remember feeling quite like that when anyone else looked at him. Sage hesitantly sat himself next to Cale on the couch.
"We need to talk about last night."
"Yes," Cale agreed.
"I wanted to apologize for what I did."
"It was nothing. Why did you drink so much in the first place?"
"I was lonely. I missed talking to you," Sage admitted.
"I understand. I won't hold anything you did against you. I enjoyed it."
"What!" Sage exclaimed.
"Haven't you gotten it yet?" Cale sighed. He abruptly turned and claimed Sage's mouth in a firm kiss. He placed a hand to Sage's chin, coaxing his mouth open with his lips and tongue. Sage found himself automatically giving Cale access to his mouth and kissing back. After getting past the sheer oddness of the situation, Sage found the kiss to be rather pleasurable. Eventually they broke apart.
"So what did you think?" Cale questioned with a smirk. Sage surprised Cale and himself by initiating another mind numbing kiss.
Cale broke away. "Sage, one more kiss like that and we're going to end up in bed."
Sage was speechless. He didn't know why he did what he did. He didn't want Cale, did he? The man in question was looking at Sage with a concerned look in his eyes.
"Sage are you okay?" Cale wondered. He had no idea what was running through the blonde's head at the moment.
Sage hesitated before answering. "I'm a little confused."
"That's all right. I wouldn't rush you into anything you aren't ready for," Cale reassured.
Sage studied him with wary eyes.
Cale sighed, "Believe me, I'm telling the truth." Cale paused a couple minutes before saying, "Do you want to go out to dinner tonight or do you have plans?"
"No I don't have plans."
"I know a great little place nearby."
"That sounds nice," Sage answered timidly. He was confused and embarrassed by all that happened between himself and Cale.
"I have to finish this article so you have lots of time to yourself." Cale could sense that Sage was uneasy, and he didn't want that.
Some time alone would help Sage sort his thoughts. "What time and where do you want to meet?"
"Outside this building at about six o'clock? Is that all right with you?"
Sage nodded.
"I'll call and make reservations. See you then."
"Bye." Sage left the apartment.
Cale watched him go. It seemed so empty without Sage there. Cale mentally shook himself. Empty? He'd been living alone in the apartment for months now and was fine. Sage spending the night there didn't change anything. But you'd want him to stay again. With him in your bed... Cale cursed and tried to focus on the task at hand, writing the damned article!
Sage walked aimlessly. He didn't have a destination in mind. He was trying to sort his jumbled thoughts. He was usually so calm and in control. For some unknown reason Cale had turned his world upside-down. Sage sighed as he sat himself on a nearby bench. He watched people go by. Some were busy with everyday activity, while some were just strolling like he was just doing. Everyone seemed so carefree and happy. Am I happy? What would make me happy? The thoughts startled Sage. He thought he was content before. Now he wasn't so sure. He had a strange longing for an ex-warlord to deal with.
One more hour. Cale looked away from the clock irritated at himself for actually counting the hours until he'd see Sage. He had long finished his article and was trying to kill time, which was proving to be difficult. He supposed he could always get ready even though it was still so early. A shower might do him some good too.
Sage opened the door to his apartment. After thinking for long he'd figured out just what he wanted. He proceeded to his room. He made a face. He needed to shower and change.
Cale toweled some of the water out of his hair before pulling a nondescript black shirt over his head. He checked his clock. It was about time for him to meet Sage. When he got to the lobby, he could see Sage waiting through the glass doors. He quickened his pace. When he opened the door, Sage turned to him. Cale tried to plaster his gaze all over Sage. Even though Sage wasn't dressed in anything spectacular, he still looked desirable to Cale.
"Ready to go?" Cale asked when he found his voice.
"Yes." Sage smiled knowingly. He saw the way Cale looked at him. He'd have to be blind or stupid not to realize what the gaze meant. He decided to ignore the implications for now and follow Cale.
They came to a cozy looking little restaurant. There weren't very many people there. It wouldn't have mattered anyway. The booths seemed very private. They were lead to their seats and given menus.
"So did you finish your article?" Sage asked, making conversation.
"Yes." But I could have done a much better job if I could keep my mind off you, Cale thought.
"I'll have to read some of your work sometime."
"It's not that interesting," Cale protested, blushing slightly.
Sage raised an eyebrow. "Are you shy about your talent? You should be proud of it."
Cale opened his mouth to reply, but the waitress came to take their orders.
When she left, Sage studied Cale. He wasn't quite sure what to say. He was never one for idle conversation.
"So what did you do today?" Cale broke the silence.
"I walked around downtown a little." Sage shrugged. "Nothing much."
There were a few minutes of silence. "Sage, do you want to talk about what happened?"
"What about it?"
"Well," Cale looked uncomfortable. "I don't want you to think of me differently." For wanting you, he added silently.
"Me think of you differently? I wouldn't."
"So it's all settled?" Cale asked. He wanted to clear the air. The last thing he wanted was for Sage to hate him.
The waitress returned with their meals.
"This is so delicious! Want to try some?" Sage offered. He piled some on his fork and held it in front of Cale's mouth. Cale hesitated before closing his mouth around it.
"Good," Cale replied huskily. Was it just his imagination, or was Sage flirting with him?
They silently finished their meals. Well, a few comments were exchanged but there were pretty meaningless.
"Do you want to order dessert?" Cale asked.
"Why don't we have dessert at your place?" Sage questioned seductively.
Cale smiled, "I'll get the check."
***(Cale's apartment)
As soon as the door was closed, Cale's mouth was on Sage's. Cale leaned Sage's back against the door as they kissed hungrily.
Sage broke away long enough to gasp, "Bed, take me to bed."
Cale obeyed the request. He continued to kiss Sage while backing him into the bedroom. Once they arrived there, Sage's clothes rapidly disappeared to be replaced by Cale's curious hands. Cale wanted to explore all of Sage's body, but he moved away.
"What..?" Sage got the wrong impression.
"Sage, we have to slow down. I want you so much. You're so perfect." Cale's eyes roamed over Sage's body.
"I want you too Cale," Sage wanted Cale to know that he was completely sure of what he was doing.
Cale understood, leaning in to kiss Sage's lips then down his neck. He slowed the pace. He wanted their first time to be prolonged and not so quick. He slid his hands over Sage's pale skin. It was so soft and smooth. Cale paused, allowing Sage to remove his shirt.
Sage's hands traveled on Cale's now bare torso. Cale moaned as Cale, moaned as Sage began to suck on a nipple. He stroked Sage's hair appreciatively. Sage grinned internally. He remembered from last night that Cale enjoyed the treatment. He was about to do the same to the other, when Cale pushed him on the bed and got on top of him.
"Sage, you don't have to do that. I want to make you feel good."
"But I want to," Sage argued.
"You can do it later. Right now it's all about you so sit back and enjoy it!" Cale lowered his head to Sage's chest and began to do what Sage did moments earlier. Cale stroked and kissed his way down Sage's abdomen.
Sage threw his head back and practically screamed when Cale's warm, wet mouth engulfed his engorged flesh. He tangled his fingers in Cale's hair.
Cale ran his tongue along the sides then across the tip of Sage's member. As he sucked, one hand slid between Sage's thighs to find his rear. He groaned in his head. He needed lubricant. He stopped the ministrations of his mouth, causing Sage to whimper at the loss.
"Just a second. Don't worry." He leaned over to his bedside table and removed a tube of lube. He showed it to Sage. "We'll be needing this, unless you don't want to."
A smile came over Sage's features. "Of course we'll be needing it. I don't want my ass to be sore."
Cale generously applied the lubricant to his fingers before going back down on Sage. He found Sage's entrance and slid a finger in. Sage gasped as he did, his passage tightening on the finger, getting used to the intruder. Sage was so hot and tight. Cale's penis throbbed even more with him just thinking about being inside Sage.
Sage squirmed a little. He wasn't used to having anything up there.
"Relax," Cale whispered, taking his mouth from Sage for a moment.
It took Sage a few minutes to get used to the feeling. Then Cale added another finger. Doing so, he went deeper and touched a spot inside Sage that drove him wild. He gasped for air as he felt himself nearing orgasm. Cale experimentally slid his fingers in and out, making sure to touch Sage's prostate. That's all it took to have Sage release in Cale's mouth.
Cale removed his mouth from Sage. He was painfully hard and needed to be in Sage now!
"Sage, are you ready for the next part?" Cale asked throatily.
"Yes. Do it now!" Sage ordered.
Cale obeyed, undoing his pants and shucking them off along with his boxers. He moved over Sage, positioning himself over Sage's entrance. He pushed in as gently and as slowly as he possibly could. Eventually, he was completely in. He thought, then flipped them over so Sage was straddling his hips.
"Go at your own pace. I don't want to lose control and hurt you," Cale explained hoarsely.
Sage lifted himself up then thrust back down. Cale's hips bucked in response burying him deeper. Sage moaned. He was becoming aroused again. Sage found a rhythm to thrust to. He had never felt such intense pleasure before. It was incredible.
Cale flipped them over so he was once again on top. Thrusting twice more, they both came. Cale gently slid from Sage. He pulled Sage to rest his head on his chest.
"I don't feel like moving. Let's sleep," Cale suggested.
"Yes." Sage cuddled against Cale, already half-asleep.
Cale drowsily stroked Sage's hair as he drifted off to sleep.
***(Morning)
Sage woke up warm and comfortable. He snuggled against...Cale! Sage was shocked for a moment, then with a smile, he remembered the night before. He rested his head back on Cale's chest. He felt Cale's hand rub his back.
"I never want to get up," Cale spoke groggily.
"Neither do I."
"Where are we now?" Cale inquired.
"What do you mean?"
"Are we lovers? Was that just a one night stand?"
"Not if you don't want it to be," Sage replied softly.
"I want you to stay with me."
"Then I will." Sage paused. "You know it's ironic that we ended up together. We used to be enemies."
Cale pulled Sage closer and chuckled.
The two figures remained curled up in each others arms. The dark with the light.
