ILLUSION OF HEAVEN

The spring rain had settled and left a fresh scent across the moist grass. Dripping off the trees softly with a still breeze about and sunshine breaking through the storm clouds softly. Everything seemed so innocent and beautiful. It seemed to drown every darkened surface that was tainted earlier.

He sighed softly at the butterflies that had come out to graze through the damped ground. He knew he shouldn't have been out there during the storm. He was drenched through and through. But he thought it would have been romantic to arrange a meeting with his love on the roof. Where the element of air and water would meet and embrace. Feeling as though they were the only ones in the world as they drenched each other in their love.

Soft fingertips skimmed gently behind an ear. Making the other warrior shudder feeling loved. A soft smile in return as those lips were captured in no fleeting way. The image was burned in to the back of his heart as that night played out before his eyes. That night: Only the rain held him as he sat on the roof by himself, his love preoccupied by another.

Now not only had he witnessed his heart breaking. He also saw the sun breaking its way out of the clouds. Warming his damp skin through his soaked clothes. He laid back enjoying the heat that slowly beckoned him to rest.

He finally awoke to the silence of evening approaching. And it was much quieter than it normally was. Perhaps it was the strange stillness that woke him up in the first place. He sat up a bit stiff doing his best not to think about the night before. A bit clumsily he found his way off the roof and into the house.

He made his way into his room and found some soft and comfortable clothes to get into. Discarding the worn ones to the side of the room. He tried to stretch a bit from the stiffness and soreness that lingered through out his limbs and body. It didn't take long for his stomach to protest his plans to stay in his room though. It forced him to quietly trek his way to the kitchen.

Finding that along the way that the house seemed empty. Normally in the evenings at this hour the house would be full of movement and sounds. With everyone doing their own thing and still finding a way to include each other. But not this evening… it was dead silent.

Except for the soft rattling of paper coming from his destination. He knew right away what this sound was and made him stop dead in his tracks out side the doorframe, hiding behind it. Another movement of paper, this time followed with a slight clinking noise from cup to saucer. It was the blond taking his moment as usual to enjoy his time in the kitchen. Something he normally did in the morning. But wasn't always so.

Shin took a breath and was forced into the kitchen by his stomach's command. He didn't say anything as he found some strawberries to eat. He sat down across from the blond quietly trying to stay in his own world.

Which was something that wasn't going to happen. “You had us worried… “ Seiji said as he kept looking at his paper.

Shin ignored his comment and savored another bite of his berry.

“Everyone went out with Nasuti… Incase you're wondering where they were.”

Shin sucked the end of the strawberry from its stem.

Seiji looked up and observed the other. “So, where were you all this time? You weren't in your room… “

Shin looked at him from the corner of his eye as he took another bite. Taking his time before answering him. “I came down to eat… not have a conversation. Let me alone will you.”

Seiji sat back a bit confused. “Why? What have I done?”

The slighter warrior looked at him with a slight glare. “Why does it matter so much if I was or wasn't in my room? Do I need a reason to not speak to you? No, I don't… your paper wants your attention more than I do. So leave me alone.” Shin said as he set aside some leafs.

Seiji stood up and stooped over the table slightly and seized his fruit by pulling them away from him. “Look, everyone was worried about you. I don't know what your problem is right now, but to be honest with you. The only time you disappear like this is when you and Shuu are getting into something. And since Shuu was here all day… I can only assume that you were alone in mischief and that's not good. You lack common sense sometimes.”

“Sometimes? You make it sound like I do all the time. And don't talk to me about being honest Seiji. In fact don't talk to me at all because it's none of your business where I was. I am here now and fine.” Shin said as he tried to get his container back. Only to get his hand slapped away.

“Damn it Seiji I am hungry.” The red head growled trying again, only to get slapped again.

“Why are you so upset with me?” Seiji asked softly flicking some blond locks to the side by moving his head a bit.

“Look I just don't want to deal with it right now. I don't have the energy. I just want something eat and go lay down.”

“I don't know what you been up to. But you can't go lay down right now. I would of rather have settled what ever is bothering you first. But you wont allow me to. There's something that we need to talk about.” Seiji said in a gentle voice.

Shin looked away and to the floor. “I don't want to talk right now.”

“Stop being so damn difficult.” Seiji said slightly sternly getting the others attention. “Its about Touma… I know he should be the one to tell you this. But… “

“Forget it I am going to bed.” Shin said getting up cutting him off.

“Shin, please… “ The blond said in a soft tone. Not getting an answer he followed the other back up the stairs. “Just give me a moment. Please, Shin… “ He said as he got in the way of the door to his room and got his shoulder slammed. Making him step back clutching his shoulder with a hiss.

Shin stopped and watched him a moment. “I didn't mean that Seiji… “ Shin said softly. The blond didn't answer as he held himself waiting for the throbbing to subside.

Reaching out to him carefully Shin insisted it was an accident. “I am sorry… “

Seiji quickly composed himself as usual. “It was my fault. But please just give me a moment to talk with you… “ He said carefully as he tried to ignore the burn settling away from the direct hit.

“ I suppose I have to now… “ Shin said as he stepped aside, resting against his dresser.

Seiji shut the door and leaned against it. “Shin… I am leaving. Well, I am going home. Grandfather needs me to help out for while. I am not sure for how long at least until Yayoi can take over.”

Shin stood there a bit stunned. He hadn't expected to hear that. He was thinking of something more along of a confession.

“Shin… “

“… You're leaving… ?” Shin said as it started to sink in.

The blond nodded. “I don't want to leave with you upset with me… tell me what I did, please.”

Shin closed his eyes a moment. “I… I saw you and Touma last night.” Shin said as he held back tears.

“… Last night? Shin it wasn't what you thought it was. Trust me, I wouldn't hurt you like that… nor would Touma.”

“Then… what was it, Seiji?”

“…I was telling him I was leaving… “

“I don't believe you.”

“… All right, I admit we discussed more than that, but I swear to you that was what you saw. It was… It was my way of showing him gratitude and admiration.”

“Either way Seiji… He wasn't protesting was he? And I am sure you could of found another way of showing that to him.”

The blond let out a soft sigh. “Shin… You know all of our bonds are strong so there's no real reason to resist or mistrust anyone. I take full blame for what happen. He was just listening to the bond. You know he wouldn't hurt you like that, Shin. In fact he was looking for you all day.”

“… Fine. Was that all you wanted to talk about??”

Seiji stood there quietly a moment and nodded a bit.

“… When do you leave?”

“Soon as I can. I have everything packed that I will need.” Seiji said as he took a few steps towards him. “Will you come and visit me?” He asked softly as he took a last step in front of him. “… I would hope you wouldn't forget me.” He added showing a moment of weakness.

Shin looked up slightly. To see such venerability from his comrade was rare. With such a request it made the water warrior wonder just how long he was going to be gone. “…How could some one forget you Seiji? Of course I will visit. Are you all right?… “

Seiji took a step back and put on a fake smile. “I am fine. Oh the others will be home late.” The blond added as he was changing subjects. “If you're still hungry I can make something for you to eat. I can't seem to sleep anyway.”

“I am fine Seiji. The strawberries I had seemed to be enough.”

“Are you sure they were still good? They were in the a long time weren't they.., “ He said with a slight laugh.

“I think they were… “ Shin said as he tasted the reminisce of the flavor in his mouth. But was distracted by suddenly being taken into the others arms. He couldn't help but to sigh slightly as the blond attentively lavished affection upon him with a kiss. He felt himself tremble softly as his heart melted and his stomach fluttered.

Much too quickly the blond withdrew from the kiss. And in a very soft voice Seiji whispered in his ear. “That wasn't for saying good bye.” And left a couple moist kisses on his pale neck. Shin was still in a daze as he looked at him just trying to remember to breathe.

Seiji loosened his embrace slightly. “I am sorry, but… I had to. “ The blond tried to keep some kind of composure as he searched the liquid eyes of the other. Coated emerald and shinning like the sea, Shin was so beautiful in this state. But everything was bled like wet paint as the water warrior's gaze turned to panic. Trying to push the other away but Seiji held him non-the less.

“Seiji, stop… this, you have to let go… “ The elder boy managed to muster trying not to give in.

And once again soft lips found tender skin. Nipping at his comrades neck, letting a soft sigh graze across the moist trails he was leaving behind. Shin made a soft sound as he felt himself slowly stop fighting. With a soft whisper of the blonds' name: Seiji let fingertips feather their way up under the shirt that was separating them. Seiji felt himself almost purring at the touch under his fingers as he let them explore pale skin.

Shin let out a soft sultry moan as the other pushed himself against his hips. Letting them find a rhythmic want as he lightly dragged the tip of his tongue at the nape of his neck. Seiji could feel a deep shutter climbing up his spine as he listened to the helpless whimpers escaping the slighter warrior.

It gave him courage to continue. Carefully sliding a hand into the others loose pajama pants. Seiji slightly smiled to himself as he let a satisfied moan hide in the others hair. This was a moment he only dreamed of. The blond let his pale fingertips explore his partner in crime's throbbing member. He felt himself flush with heat as the other clung to him lost in ecstasy. Seiji clutched his hand around him firmly and started an attentively slow pace.

The gentle redhead clung tighter than the blond thought he ever could. Letting loud innocent moans be drown by Seiji's shirt. Seiji fought himself wanting to drag this out longer. His dream had come to life in ways he never imagined. That voice, his strained pants strangled by his thought and the feel of his warmth in his arms… in his hand. The slighter warrior was so intoxicating to his senses. Seiji found him self in the red locks of his partner: the smell of fresh water remaining in his feathery soft hair.

He shuddered harshly as he tugged at him. Seiji moaned wanting to just take him but disciplined himself to continue. He applied more pressure and picked up the pace a bit. Getting the other to tense up as a reward. A cry filling the room as his siren released. Clutching at the other so tightly that he ripped part of the delicate fabric. Seiji softly massaged the lower back of his partner. Softly cooing him to relaxation as he slowly let his hand up on the pressure and with draw. Sliding his arm back around the other's waist and holding him caringly.

Shin said nothing for a long while. Just standing there, letting the other hold him. The world had been turned upside down and everything was completely different. He tried to collect the parts of himself that were scattered about. His mind partially scrambled and his body drained.

Seiji held him keeping the silence as long as the other wanted. He gently petted and caressed him. He didn't set out to do this, but this was where he ended up. For the moment it was heaven on earth. But worry tugged at the back of his mind. And only got stronger as he heard car doors slam shut. And muffled voices carry through the night air. They were no longer alone and the moment was torn.

“Th-they're home… “ Seiji said very softly and nuzzled his temple gently.

Shin still couldn't find his voice to speak. Instead he just nodded and stepped aside pulling away from the other's arms. The coolness of the air replacing the comforting heat that held him.

Seiji watched him closely and he knew. Light only reflected off water… Giving only illusions of what was already in the sky. He could see Shin was ready to cry and knew he wasn't going to be any comfort to him. So the blond nodded hiding his tears behind his pale iris.

“I should… I should go.” Seiji said trying to make sure his voice wouldn't crack. He wanted to say something to him that was meaningful. He wanted to take him back in his arms. He needed to let him know he cared. But it was all futile and he knew it all too deeply. “Shin… I am sorr-“ He started to say but got cut off abruptly.

“Don't say anything, Seiji.” Shin said running a hand through his hair in thought. “You don't need to… “ He added as he leaned against his window keeping his gaze off the blond.

Suddenly Seiji couldn't have felt anymore wrong and took a few steps back. “I'll see you when I return… then.” Seiji said waiting a moment only getting silence as a response. “… Good-night… “ Seiji said as he turned and started to leave.

This night was nearly eleven months gone by. Seiji stood at the door watching the rain: Falling from the sky and gathering at the ground. The air was fresh and the sky growled with quiet thunder. Every day he waited and evening he watched. Still his little fish never showed as he promised. He knew he wouldn't but he also wanted to believe that one evening. He would see him standing at the gate with his gentle smile on his face.

Seiji sighed softly as he felt another piece of his heart ache. He let his head rest against the doorframe and said softly: not even in a whisper. “I heard you're still well, sparkling respectively… “ He folded a letter from Ryo and replaced it in his pocket.
