At the edge of Argo’s realm, there is a quiet place, a healing place. It is called simply Sanctuary. Over the long centuries of Argo’s reign, many have found their way to the great Oaken doors, some fleeing, some coming by choice; almost all seeking redemption. The Immortal healer known as Sendril and the descendant of the Yuki Ona, a Frost child, named Yukito maintain its peace and secrecy. It was not uncommon for Kaos to deliver those he felt he could save from the ruler’s evil. Many passed through those solid as steel doors, some choosing to stay; others too battered and broken to even make it passed the rooms of healing and granted a patch of earth in which to rest.


Deep in its maze of rooms, at its heart grows an Oak, planted when the first walls rose and inscribed with twelve Kanji. It is known as the heart Oak, and is the very reason Sanctuary stands. It is also from where the Night Takers come to take children to the Kitsune woman who watches over them.

Now with Argo’s defeat, Kaos brings one more Soul into Sanctuary’s shelter and into Sendril’s healing and protective hands...
