Roses Are Red

There seemed to be magic in the air as he let soft moist lips trail his neck and shoulders. Many nights he lay awake imagining this moment. Wanting and wishing for this and feeling his heart beat faster and faster with each touch. Many times a day he dreamed out the window while watching the magnificent warrior practice out side of it. He was so handsome and regal to him. That it would over take his thoughts on a whim of just his scent as he past by. Now he had him.
Holding him tight as he kissed his tender neck under the moon. Feeling nothing but his lips, touch and slight breeze. Taking in his scent and the night air. Relishing in the moment that he wanted to last forever. It was such bliss after this long wait. He cooed in his throat as slender hands caressed silken skin. The coolness of his hands backed by their warmth. Made his skin shiver in delight. He smiled as the warrior massaged his back under his shirt. Just as he arched his back from the attention. He started to slur out the three most simplest words he had kept hidden and quiet for so long.
"Hey, Shin." A voice said as the bedroom door opened. Ripping him from his fantasy.
Shin shot up from the bed in shock and looked to the door. Where one of his best friends stood: door knob in hand with a smile on his face.
"Yes?" Shin asked feeling a little guilty.
"Just wondering what you were up to. You haven't been down stairs most of the evening." Touma asked in his quirky way.
"Nothing much… I just wanted to be alone for a while." He answered trying to dodge any more questions.
"Oh, well I was just kind of bored. If I'm bothering you… I'll leave you alone… if you want."
"No, it's fine. Come on in if you wish." Shin said motioning him to do so.
"Thanks, besides there's something I wanted to talk to you about." Touma said as he shut the door behind him.
"What's on your mind?" Shin said with a little grin to it.
"Well, for one thing, you're the only one I can trust to tell this to."
"What's that?"
Touma fidgeted with his shirt as he looked at it.
"Is it something bad?" Shin asked more sincere.
"I… well, perhaps. I don't know for sure."
"What's wrong, are you okay?" Shin asked more worried now.
"I'm fine… I just don't know how to say this."
"Take your time then. I'm here all the time if you need more."
"No, I need to tell some one, but I just… I'm sort of afraid to."
"Why?"
"I could possibly lose your friendship and or some one else's. I know you won't say a word if I don't want you to, but I really need your help."
"Touma, no matter what, you couldn't lose mine." He reassured him as he put his hand on his back.
"Please, don't do that until I get done telling you."
"What?" Shin asked in confusion as he caressed his shoulder.
Touma just slightly turned and took his hand in his as he put it on the bed. "That."
"… okay." He was slightly hurt at the gesture, but he knew if Touma started his sentence with please. It meant a lot more than that and he should do so.
"Shin… do you really mean what you said about your friendship? That I won't lose it no matter what."
"To the core."
"Then… what would you say if I told you… If I told you I'm… gay?"
Shin sat there surprised at what his ears were hearing. Never once had he ever thought Touma would tell him such a thing. Let alone be gay. All this time he had him fooled. Touma was what some would call a lady-killer or a heart breaker of sorts. Even though he never actually saw him with a girl… it still seemed that way.
"I'd say… you're one of my best friends and that's non-negotiable." Shin said patting him on the shoulder.
Touma smiled slightly and he could see some of his burden lift as he told him that.
"Thanks."
"Now you said you needed some help."
"Yeah… you know I handle things myself, but I can't muster up enough courage at the moment."
"I know you do." Shin said knowing full well. That he always wanted to do things himself.
"Well, umm, I know this sounds silly, but… I have a crush to boot."
"Oh, yeah… who's the lucky pick?" Shin said making him blush slightly.
"Seiji… I knowI'mwayout of my league here, but what the hell, right?"
"Seiji… " Shin said as he tried to access the situation.
"Yeah, it's a long shot, but I need to know for sure and I'm tired of hiding my feelings." He said frustrated.
"How do you want me to help?" Shin said doing his best to hide the sadness starting to boil inside.
"You don't have to tell him what I told you… just give this to him." Touma said digging in his pocket. "Give him this note for me. If I do it… I'll probably puke from being so damn nervous." He said handing it to him already starting to shake.
"Are you sure… you should do it this way? I mean, Seiji likes things like this to be said face to face."
"I can't do it any other way. Besides… if he for some reason loses his temper… it's best no one's there to take the heat of the moment."
"Understood… you want me to do it now?" Shin said taking the note.
"Please, I can't take it any longer."
"Okay." Shin said getting up as he ran his hand through his auburn hair.
"Shin… " Touma said as he sat down again.
"Yeah?"
"May I hide out in here for a little while?"
"No problem." Shin mustered a smile to him as he left.
Shin stood at the bottom of the stairs looking at his goal. He was sitting in his usual chair watching television with the others. Completely engrossed in what ever it was they were watching. Shin felt his blood start to get jumpy as he felt the note in his hand. Knowing that if he gave it to him… he'd lose his chance and never know what it would be like. To be held in those arms or feel those pouty lips against his skin as he often dreamed. Although, he had already said he'd help… help make his own future flicker to nothing.
Shin swallowed as he put one foot in front of the other as he got closer. When the blond looked up at him with questioning eyes. Shin bit his lip and handed him the note. Doing his best to ignore the others looking at them.
"What's this?" Seiji asked as he grabbed it.
"It's from Touma." Shin said quietly so only he could hear it.
"Is he mad at me or something?"
"Nothing of the sort, but you better read it."
"Alright." Seiji said getting up and going in the kitchen where no one else was.
Shin stood there a second then left back to his room. Getting there: Touma was curled up on his bed holding a pillow tightly. Shutting the door he turned and asked. "Are you okay?" Gently.
"Fine." Touma said sitting up. "Did he get it?"
"I gave it to him, then he went into the kitchen to read it. I don't know any thing more though."
"I hate the wait." Touma said getting up and walking over to the window. After a moment of silence he spoke again. "What do you think his response will be?"
"It's hard to say, Touma. I don't think I can give you a reasonable guess." Shin taking his pillow in his arms.
"Do you think… I might lose his friendship over this?"
"If… he's against it… you two may not speak for a little while, but he values you too much."
"What do you mean by that?"
"You and Seiji have always had a strong bond… at least stronger than with the rest of us. I don't think Seiji could truly bear to not have your friendship." Shin admitted.
"Is there something wrong?" Touma asked picking up on the tone of his voice.
"Nothing, why?" Shin said putting his tone back to normal.
"You just sound like there is, that's all."
"Nothing… "
"Yeah right, don't lie to me, Shin."
"There is nothing wrong."
"You're still lying to me."
"Really."
"Why can't you tell me?"
"For one thing… it's better to keep some things to myself."
"That's better, but is it something I have done? Is that why you won't tell me?"
"I just rather deal with my problems by myself. That's all, Touma… "
"You normally tell and deal with things with me… has this changed us?"
"No, Touma. There are just some things I rather keep to myself. Things that keep me… who I'm. Those sort of things I normally don't like to share."
"Even with me?" Touma said getting a little upset.
"I'm sorry, Touma. I just… not this time… please."
"It might help to talk about it."
"Touma."
"Well, it might."
"No, let it be."
"You always tell me everything… Something has changed, hasn't it." He stated.
"No."
"You don't like that I'm gay do you." He stated again.
"That isn't it."
"Yes, it is."
"No… " Shin answered as a knock hit the door. "Yes?" He said letting them know they could come in.
"Hi, Shin… " Seiji said standing in the doorway. "May I speak with Touma?"
"Sure… " Shin said as he got up but turned to Touma quickly. "It's not the reason." But only got a glare in return.
Shin stood outside the door and waited for them to finish. Thoughts racing in his mind. He could have possibly lost the man of his dreams and a friend. He wanted to tell Touma right away, but knew it was better he didn't. He and Touma shared their problems frequently and also walked a fine line together. Where fights would break out from nothing and friendship would blossom from the same. Where one word could make the biggest difference and many couldn't fill any gap. He felt trapped in a spinning whirlpool of sorrow. Where he had no one to turn to… but himself. Which wasn't much help or comfort.
He got raped from his thoughts as he heard a thud from his room. Making him jerk the door open and stand in shock. Where he saw his friend sitting on the table by his bed where a lamp used sit: now on the floor. The blond he dreamed about so often… had his arms wrapped around the slim archer as he kissed him passionately and deeply. They didn't even notice right away. That he was standing there.
Seiji helped Touma off the table as he finally noticed him there. "Sorry Shin." He said picking up the lamp.
"It's fine." Shin said taking it and putting it back. Touma just stood there, next to the bed.
"I didn't mean to barge in on you two." He added.
"We were just about to leave any way." Touma said taking Seiji by the arm and leading him out.
Shin sat on the bed doing his best to hold back the anger of frustration and hurt that twined inside.
The next morning he didn't feel like getting up and doing what he normally did. He lay in bed with an arm over the bed as played with the carpet with his fingers. He wanted last night to be a dream… he wanted all of it to be just another creation his mind: thought up. He was truly happy for them, but he couldn't help but feel like he was growing cold inside. Like some one had ripped his heart out and all the blood had stopped running though out his body. It hurt to bad to have tears and he was too alone to hold himself up from the flood that was over taking him.
He watched as the sun on the floor moved across the room. Most of the day had gone by and with each moment that ticked by. Seemed to hurl him further into the coldness of the dark that filled his body. It seemed that any movement was a great effort. Sometimes so did thinking.
When he noticed that the shades barely showed any sign of daylight: he got up. He was tired of being in bed and he didn't want to be home at the time. He went through his closet and drawers to find some clothes. Then trotted off to the shower and found a bit of peace under the spicket. It soothed his muscles and took away some tension that he was carrying. After that he got dressed and fixed his hair. Then found his favorite cologne and put some on. He felt he had to get away for a while and slipped out of the house unseen. Leaving only a small trace of the scent of his cologne.
Shin found himself at a dance club on the other end of town. Where he had to elbow his way around and to the nearest bar. A few hours later and a few too many drinks he was asked to dance. By a rather handsome man. With dark hair and dark eyes, but was even better at making him feel like he was worthy.
The man danced with him a few dances. Staying close and holding him when he had a chance. Which he gave to him often as he could. He never asked him his name because it didn't matter to him. After all it was only a moment in time. Shin could feel the effect of the alcohol starting to rush through his veins. He couldn't help but enjoy the feeling as the man nipped at his neck with his cool lips.
He couldn't remember when he actually went out to the guy's car, but that's where he found himself. Being ravished in kisses and soothing touches. Caressing the exposed skin near his thighs as it escaped to a firm grasp around his member. Lips skimming the skin on his collar bone. Warm breath heating the goose bumps that were forming. Shin returned the affection and received even more for the response. This was bliss compared to what was waiting at home. So, he gladly let the man have his way.
"You're so beautiful…" The man whispered as he got him as he wanted him. "Any one ever tell you that?"
Shin smiled in anticipation as he answered quietly. "Never… "
"Then… " He said as he eased in. "They… don't know….. nothing." He added as he started slow.
Shin wriggled under him as his mind decided to shut down. Losing every thing he had a grasp to as pleasure replaced pain. Filling the void as tender touches sealed his bliss. Kisses brushing the nap of his neck and he let him know how he felt. It seemed like more than he could bare as he bit his lip and let the sweat run from his brow. Drawing blood as he went over the edge and a few droplets as he felt himself being showered from within with a rhythm.
A few moments passed then he felt the void again as he withdrew. To his surprise he didn't ask him to leave right away. Instead he held him and looked over his features with content. Tracing his face with his fingertips softly. The silence broke when he spoke to him softly. "I can see your sorrow. What's wrong little one?"
Shin lay there shocked at what he heard. Not knowing what to say right away. This wasn't suppose to happen… he should have gotten out a few minutes ago. He… this guy wasn't supposed to care. "Nothing."
"Then why is some one so beautiful in the back seat of my car?" He asked gently as he kissed his neck.
"Because I want to be."
"I think… " He said as he kissed his neck again. "There's some place else you want to be, but I'm glad you're here. Is… that wrong?"
"No… " He said enjoying the sensations.
The man glanced at his watch and leaned his head on his shoulder. "I have to go. Can I drop you some where?" He said hating he had to end it now.
"No." He said as he buttoned his pants and started to get out.
"Are you sure? It's four thirty in the morning… "
"I'm sure." He said as he let the guy out from the back.
"Then… is it okay if I see you again?"
Shin stood there not knowing how to tell him. That he didn't want a relationship.
"No strings attached." He added with a kiss on his lips.
"No strings?… " He said returning it.
"None."
"Alright."
The man smiled and got in the car. "Then tomorrow night… same time?"
"Sounds good."
The guy smiled as he left the parking lot. Leaving Shin smiling to himself as he had noticed… the guy had a wedding ring on. This wasn't going to go any further than he wanted it to… or so he thought.
