Ronin Warriors Fan Fiction ❯ The Kaf ❯ Epilogue ( Epilogue )
The Kaf - Epilogue
By Djinn Hashiba Maxwell
This basically starts before Touma was born and covers all the events you heard about but didn't see. Just tying up loose ends, ya know? In order - Touma's parents, how Touma first met Ryo, what happened to Kayura and Rajura, what happened to Shuten and Nasutei, and then and only then do Touma and Seiji get it on. *hee hee*
*~*~*
{19 years previous - before Toumawashi's conception}
A lovely woman with dark hair and darker eyes walked down the hill, an empty water jug held against her hip as she sauntered down, a naturally elegant sway to her slim hips. A gold stud ran through her nose and her dress consisted of a tan skirt and a dark blue swath of fabric over her breasts, purely functional. The decoration was represented by the dozens of gold and silver bracelets that clattered around her wrists. Her hair was gathered with a strip of leather at the back of her neck.
She dipped her jug into the well, turning her face to the sunlight as it filled. Two suns hung in the sky, and she shielded her eyes from their light as she looked across the bleak horizon of the desert.
She lifted the now-full jug back to her side, and turned back to the path, nearly running into a man who'd appeared behind her. In her surprise she dropped the jug. The earthenware did not crack, but all the water spilled out around her feet. She let out a very unladylike curse.
"Kuso! You should watch where you are going, sir!" She exclaimed, dropping to retrieve her jug.
He bowed, gallant. "Pardon me, I am sure. Let me refill your jug." He offered, reaching down at the same time as she did to retrieve the jug. Their hands touched over the earthenware and the dark-haired woman jumped back in surprise, as if she had been burned. There was something odd about him...
He blinked at her with silver-green eyes, and his hair was red as flame. His skin was pale white and seemed almost translucent in the sunlight. By that coloring he was not fravashi, nor was he Mala'ika, for he had no wings. She blinked again.
"What ARE you?" She asked.
He paused for a moment, then avoided the question by ignoring it. "Let me refill your jug." He offered, lifting the container to his shoulder.
"But I..."
"Please. It was my fault, let me help you." He cut her off, and she shrugged as he walked over to the well and dipped the jug in once more.
"What is your name?" She asked.
"I am called Ameretat." He said, bowing slightly.
"My name is Anahita." She bowed in response. "I am a fravashi from the hills near here."
"I am from far away from here." He said in response to that. "In a very lonely place..." he trailed off for a moment, and then turned to her with a dashing smile. "I will help you carry the water home, it is the least I can do."
"That is unnecessary, I can manage." Anahita protested.
"Nonsense. It is no trouble at all." He said with another disarming smile.
Anahita clicked her tongue behind her front teeth in perturbation. There was something unnatural and dangerous about him, but she could not place it. All she knew was that he wasn't a mala'ika and he wasn't a fravashi, and there was no one else in this part of the Kaf.
"Are you... are you..." Anahita paused for a moment, and then suggested, "...a korybante?"
Ameretat blinked and then let out a sharp laugh, tilting his head back so that the sun magnified his beauty. He was handsome, very handsome, Anahita decided, and that was saying quite a bit from someone who lived with the mala'ika all her life.
"Where do you live?" Ameretat asked, circumventing the question, and Anahita allowed the topic to be changed. She gave him a pleasant smile and turned, letting the man follow her.
{Three years previous - Ryo's arrival}
Ryo stood outside the barrier of sands that separated him from the land of the djinn. The young mala'ika's powder-white wings where clenched tightly behind him, a few stray feathers ripped away by the winds floated around him. His tunic was pure white and torn from a long journey. He blinked perplexedly at the barrier - surely he had not come all this way merely to be stopped now?
And then he heard a voice.
"What do the mala'ika want here?" It was a whisper as soft as the wind itself, gone as quickly at it appeared. He jumped in surprise.
"W-what?" He stuttered, looking around him for the source of the voice.
"You are not a djinnee." The same whispered voice said. "And what are these?" A phantom tug of wind at his wings.
"I..." He swallowed nervously. "I want to join the djinn." He said nervously.
"And why do you want to do a thing like that?" The voice asked with a hint of mirth.
"Because..." He swallowed and then tilted his chin up proudly, tossing his black hair over one shoulder. "Because the mala'ika are scoundrels who abandoned the djinn for no good reason and I don't want to be one of them!" He announced.
A soft, formless chuckle. "You are a funny one... I think I'll let you in." And slowly, like a curtain being pulled aside, the wall of wind and sand split in two before him, barely wide enough for him to pass through. He stepped into the rift uncertainly, and as soon as he was inside the area where he had stood a moment before was obscured by billows of sand. With every step he took the wall closed after him, forbidding retreat.
It seemed like forever before he reached the opposite end of the barrier, though it was only a bit more than a hundred feet. And there at the other end a figure stood. There were about the same height, 5'6 or slightly more, but the boy who stood before him seemed somehow grander than he could ever hope to be. Blue hair hung slightly in bluer eyes, contrasting sharply with skin as pale and smooth as alabaster. He wore a tan robe that made his skin even paler and he had his arms crossed as he leaned casually against a large bolder, his face turned slightly in Ryo's direction.
"Hello." He said, and Ryo recognized it as a slightly solidified version of the voice that had teased him only a moment before.
"Who are you?" Ryo asked, swallowing hard.
"That is my question for you." The other boy replied, pushing himself off the rock.
"My name is Ryo, the former angel of perfect virtue." He replied. "I don't really have a title anymore."
The other boy smiled, surprising him. "Well, you certainly can't be an angel of virtue if you're living among the djinn." He quipped. "My name is Toumawashi, and I am a very rare sort of djinnee." He answered Ryo's earlier question. He didn't clarify what sort of djinnee he was, just that it was rare. "Your clothes are a mess. You should get something to change into, ne?" He suggested.
"I don't have anything..."
Touma stepped closer and examined him closely. "Hmm... we look about the same size. I'll let you borrow something of mine." He smiled. "Oh, and welcome to the djinn. Let me give you a welcome present."
The djinnee raised a hand and Ryo felt the slightest touch of wind pull at him, seeming to grab at his wings. It was gone quickly, and his brow furrowed, wondering the purpose, when a feather drifted down before his eyes.
A soot black feather.
He spread his wings to their full span, eyes widening as he looked at as much of them as he could. They were completely black, not a hint of white to be seen.
"Much better suiting to you, don't you think?" Touma asked with a laugh. "Follow me, I will find you new clothes."
And, not having any other course of action to follow, Ryo followed him.
{Directly after the death of Ibilis}
Kayura curled her form into the corner at the door of the cell opened. She had gone after Ibilis' toy, and there was only one punishment that could await such an action. She buried her face in the arms of the coarse robe she had been give to wear, her unbound hair cascading around her face, obscuring it.
"Kayura." The voice was familiar, that of the silver-haired spirit of dreams. She curled herself closer; why would they send HIM to bring her to Ibilis?
"Kayura get up."
"No." She growled, turning her back to him.
"Kayura please get up." he repeated, coming as close as he dared.
"Why should I?" She demanded of him.
"Kayura, Ibilis is dead."
Her head shot up in surprise and her exclamation echoed harshly in the bare room. "DEAD?" she demanded confirmation, eyes wide.
"Yes." Rajura assured her, taking a step closer and crouching at her side. "And Toumawashi with him."
She swallowed harshly, eyes becoming wider if that was even possible. "Touma... Touma is dead? But that is not possible!" She rose to her feet, slightly shaking. "I want to see him. I want to see him!!"
"You can't." Rajura said softly.
"I... what?" Kayura cried.
"Three mala'ika, a fravashi and that human of his took him to the lands of the mala'ika." He replied. "He is no longer here."
"But..." there were genuine tears in her eyes, something she had not often experienced. "But he cannot be dead. He was the most powerful djinnee ever! I must see him..."
"Did you love him that much?" Rajura whispered.
Kayura jumped, taken off guard by both his words and the undercurrent of pain in his tone. She cocked her head slightly at him and replied uncertainly. "He was... I desired him for as long as I can remember."
"But you did not love him?" Rajura asked hopefully.
"I do not know what love is." She replied, somehow both bitter and regretful.
Rajura took a step closer and was heartened when the korybante did not pull away as his fingertips touched her cheeks. "Would you let me show you?" He asked, and she blinked back unwanted tears at the calm sincerity of his word.
"Doshite?" She asked. "I am nothing but a whore. It's all I've ever been. I do not deserve to be loved."
"It's too late for that." Rajura replied with a shrug. "I already love you."
And the korybante swallowed hard and then, with the briefest of movements, she brought her lips up to his softly in what might have been the first sincere kiss of her life.
{Same time, different place}
Nasutei held her veil over her face, not having the energy to properly fasten it across her nose. She'd seen Ryo and a few other she did not recognize leave with a long, violet-wrapped package that she had eventually discovered was the body of Toumawashi. The information did not distress her, only lead her to wonder idly whatever became of Kayura.
She looked curiously to the empty doorway of Touma's home and before she knew it she was on her back, having knocked into something hard and tall. She looked up to see the fire-haired spirit of demons looking down on her. He held a hand down to her, offering her assistance in rising, and she accepted it.
"Nasutei." He said softly.
"Hai?" She replied.
"I..." his eyes darkened. "Nothing. What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for Kayura." She lied. The truth was that ever since Ryo had not-so-politely dismissed her she had been wandering aimlessly.
"Kayura is in the dungeons." Shuten told her.
She jumped. "The dungeon... so Ibilis knows."
"Ibilis is dead." Shuten replied emotionlessly, and Nasutei jumped again.
"And so is Toumawashi?" She suggested, not fully certain.
"Hai." Shuten confirmed, nodding his head slightly. Nasutei let out a soft, murmuring moan.
"What is to become of us?" She wondered aloud, tears coming to her green eyes. "Ryo is gone, Toumawashi and Ibilis are both dead... we are leaderless and I am alone..."
"Nonsense." Shuten dismissed. "Ibilis was a tyrant, we are better off without him. We will have no trouble finding a better leader than he. And as for your being alone... that is by your choice."
Nasutei blinked. "Nani?"
"Don't be foolish. You know that you could have any man in the entire Kaf if you wanted him. All you'd have to do was crook a finger and they'd come running. You are beautiful and charming, why would they not?"
Nasutei's cheek burned with a blush. She had never been complimented before; it was taken for granted that a korybante would be beautiful so she had never considered it an outstanding quality. "Domo... domo arigato." She whispered, turning her eyes modestly to the ground. He hooked a finger under her chin to bring her eyes back to his.
"I meant every word. Any man would love to have you." He whispered, close enough that she could feel his breath move her veil as he spoke. She licked her lips uncertainly, and then spoke in a harsh whisper.
"Kiss me."
He blinked. "Nani?"
"I have kissed hundreds of men and women, but never once has someone else kissed me... please kiss me." She whispered softly.
And her veil fell away as he softly obeyed her whispered request.
{Sometime later, the mala'ika section of the Kaf}
((okay, here's the lemon part. You skipped right to here, didn't you? For shame!! ^__^))
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
Seiji turned over his shoulder and saw his lover walking to join him on the balcony. He turned back to the star-filled sky. "I would never have discovered it if not for you." He said.
Touma smiled softly as he leaned against the railing beside the blonde. "There are many things that I would not have discovered if not for you." He responded, and Seiji blushed slightly, hoping that the darkness of the night hid it. "I love you." He told the blonde solemnly, and Seiji smiled slightly.
"Hai, I know. I love you too." It was so trite and simple a way to describe the extent of the connection he felt to the other boy, but for practical purposes it would have to do.
"My aunt has asked me to take Sraosha's place as the Hearer of Prayers." He said quietly.
"Will you?" Seiji asked curiously.
"I suppose." He said, noncommittal. "Although I do not know how the other mala'ika will react to a djinnee half-breed being counted among the yazatas."
"I thought you wanted to join the mala'ika and the djinn once again." Seiji commented.
Touma smiled. "Hai. But we must take baby steps." He said with a laugh. Then he stepped off the balcony, back into the chamber. "Come. It is cold out here."
Taking one last glance at the stars above, Seiji followed the younger boy into the chamber.
Almost as soon as he had slipped past the curtain he was pulled into a tight embrace, and soft lips pressed against his. They tasted of wind and sand and Seiji lost himself somewhere in the deep kiss. Slow but insistent fingers worked at the tie of his kimono before letting the soft green garment drop to the floor. Long fingers curled into blonde hair as Touma tongue slid hotly into Seiji's mouth.
After several long minutes where the only sounds were soft wet sprinklings of noises the two pulled apart, gasping for air. Seiji flushed when he realized that he was standing completely nude. "Touma..."
A finger pressed over his lips as the other boy flashed him a disarming grin. "This is the part where you shut up and go with the flow, Seiji." He whispered, his breath hot against the blonde's cheek. Seiji's blush darkened slightly but he managed a coy smile as his nimble fingers slipped open Touma's robe and found the soft skin hidden beneath. The blue-haired boy pulled his lips down for another hot kiss as he twisted them towards the futon in the corner.
Their legs twisted together as they moved, eventually spilling them down onto the floor just short of the bed, but at this point neither of them were particularly worried about that. Hands roved freely over every inch of bare skin that could be reached as their tongues eagerly explored the hot cavities of mouths. After long minutes, Touma's hand slid down between their bodies to close around Seiji's hard sex. The blonde whimpered slightly against his mouth.
"Is this what you want?" Touma whispered hotly, kissing a trail from Seiji's ear to the junction of his neck and shoulder. The blonde shivered slightly.
"Aa..." he let out a low hiss.
"Or do you want THIS...?" Touma's hand slid lower, the djinnee's lips tracing patterns on the blonde's skin as one finger slipped inside him. Involuntarily Seiji's hips lifted of the floor, protesting the invasion, and he let out another soft whimper, burying his face against Touma's collarbone.
"Touma..." He panted, pleading.
"Tell me, Seiji." He whispered, taking a sucking bite just below the blonde's ear.
"I want..." he took a deep breath, blushing hotly. "You. Inside me. NOW."
Touma pressed his mouth over Seiji's as he moved to obey his request. Seiji felt every nerve ending come alive as Touma pulled his legs under his arms and entered him with just the tip of his member. His breath came in sharp gasps as Touma began to thrust slowly, pressing in deeper each time. The blue-haired boy planted his hands next to the blonde's face, using the extra leverage to hit that hidden spot deep inside the other. Seiji was panting now and he gave a shudder of ecstasy before he gave into his release. The sensations of his lover's muscles contracting around him sent Touma over the edge after his, and he released his seed deep into his lover's willing body.
They didn't move for a moment, gasping as the waves of pleasure ran over them, and then Touma pulled out and rolled onto his side, pulling the blonde into his arms. Seiji turned over his shoulder to lay a lazy kiss on Touma's lips.
"Love you." He whispered sleepily.
Touma gave him a drowsy smile in response. "Hai. Love you." He whispered before they both drifted off into a pleasant sleep.
