Shu: Alright yeah time to kick some ass!

Nasty: Shu watch that mouth of yours.

D.L.: What a boss butt.

Nasty: What was that? *Warning glare thrown D.L.'s way.*

D.L.: Hey who's threatening who here? I'm the one who controls your destiny hints the name Destiny's Lot.

Nasty: I'd like to see you try, what are you going to do make me kiss Ryo?

D.L.: You'd like that would you, perv. Remember he's not even 18 yet.

Nasty: Yet being the key word once he turns 18 he's all mine.

Shu: Not if Kayura gets to him first. * Shu thumbed toward the cozy couple laughing by the fire. *

D.L.: Is it getting hot in ear or are Nasty eyes on fire.

Shu: Temper, temper Nasty-chan. * Flash of fire and Shu's burn to a crisp.*

D.L.: Well, that about enough of that. Start chapter 4 now.

Chapter 4 Rebirth ( Ojo)

The day had retired giving over its control to the night, the sky now an ocean of stars each one shinning just a little bright as the laughter from the living room grew. Nasty again found that her curiosity about the teens' conversation was peaked as she heard.

"Bull shit, Ryo!"

Sighing Nasty abandoned her books once to see what all of the constant cursing was about. The last time she'd came out to check on the younger residents of the Yagiyu mansion she had found them in the middle of an argument of which card game to play.

/"Let's play poker!" Touma suggested his arm wrapped around Saya shoulders.

"It's no fun unless it is strip poker."

"Leave it to Shu to suggest something perverted."

"I don't know Saya sounds like a fun idea."

"Touma!"

"You know I think blue boy is onto something."/ Ryo nodded that was when Nasty had to put a stop to it.

/"Come on Saya, you scared,"/ That was Shu again. Nasty had noted that Shu and Saya fought constantly it was kind of cute but mainly just annoying.

/"Hell no!"

"You sure? I mean beside Nasty you are the only female here we could gang up on you."

"Shu!"

"Nasty! I didn't mean it like that, I mean…"

"There will be no Strip Poke in this house, at least not without me and I am currently busy."/ Nasty hadn't been able to resist a linger glance at her cute black hair sword man. / Blushing yet again.

"Come on Suti…"/ Touma had smirked only to receive a jab in the ribs from his rather violent girlfriend.

/"No way, play something else and quiet down I'm tiring to work.

"You're no fun…"/ Now Nasty once again found herself heading toward the noise.

"Yes Shu that is the name of the game, but is there…"

"You know damn well what I'm talking about, Ryo. I'm calling your buff!" Shu shouted as Nasty came to the living room entrance, surveying the scene. The group was crowded around the coffee table a large pile of turn down cards in the middle. Saya and Touma were sitting on the couch with Seiji on the recliner to their left the three of the watching the little drama as Ryo and Shu stared each other down before Ryo who was sitting on the floor across from Saya sighed snatching up the pile of cards.

"Damn it." He muttered as he began sorting the pile.

Shu smiled triumphantly before plopping back down in between Ryo and Saya completely the little circle.

Saya snicker as she leaned closer to Touma her eyes drifting toward the cards in his hand.

"Oh no you don't," Touma called realizing Saya's motivation for suddenly leaning on him.

"What?!" she asked innocently put on that `whatever do you mean look'.

"You know what, you little cheater," Touma chuckled at the pout she gave him as she leaned further.

"I am not,"

"Then why are you…"

"God you guys are all a bunch of liars," Ryo blurted breaking up the flirting between Touma and his little woman.

"Well that is the object of the game," Seiji said calmly a slight smile pulling at his lips.

"Yeah well, half these aren't even close to right the orders, Ace, two, three, not Ace, ten, seven… geez Seiji you even laid down five cards your last turn, when the most you can play per turn are four."

"Your point being Ryo?"

"You're all cheaters."

"What exactly are you guys playing?" Nasty final asked.

"Bull shit!"

"Excuse me…"

"It is kind of hard to explain," Touma said, "You try to play your cards in order, one turn at a time. So Shu going to play as many fours as he has then Saya will play fives, I'll play sixes and so one, but if you don't have the cards your suppose to lie and say you do, and try not to get caught. "

"You can call it Big Whopper if you want," Saya offered most likely seeing the look of disgust Nasty knew showed on her face.

"So you guys are playing a game that not only requires a curse to play it but that encourages lying?" Nasty asked one hand posed on her hip as she waited for their answer.

"Huh," they nodded dumbly.

"God it's a good this Shin's not here, the four virtues troops playing Bull Shit…" she mumbled shaking her head as she made her way back down the hall.

"Should we tell her that Shin taught it to us?" Shu asked a big smile on his face.

"Naa!" Touma grinned as Ryo reached over to grab a quick slip from his soda the huge pile of cards he'd just receive after being caught by Shu final organized.

"Damn empty… I'm going to get another soda," Ryo announced rising from the floor to make his way to the kitchen.

"Hurry back firebug, it is almost your turn and Aoi-chan?"

"Yeah," Ryo heard Touma answer, obviously use to the nick name.

"Bull shit."

"Damn it how'd you… stop looking over my shoulder!"

Ryo laughed out right as he reached the frig. the little argument continuing from the living room. /Well I'd say Saya fits in rather well. Whether that's a good thing or not… / Ryo paused in his thoughts as a faint scratching caught his ear. Glancing to the sliding glass door the black haired sword man saw Byaruen his large paw held against the glass.

Ryo smiled as the cat winked at him. Grabbing his cola he quickly went over to let the white tiger in. As the door was slid open Byaruen sniffed the air apparently noting the new smell.

"Yeah she's here," Ryo said when the cat looked up to him before strolling the rest of the way into the house. "Just try not to scare her again, ok?"

The tiger gave no sign that he was listening as he trotted out of the kitchen toward the laughter coming from the living room.

"Hey Byaruen's coming!" Ryo called deciding to give Saya at least some warning.

"Saya!"

Shu wasn't sure what happened. One second Saya was standing up to go to the bathroom the next she was frozen muttering something as she and Byaruen faced off.

"Saya!" Touma called as he stood moving toward the petrified girl. Her body was shaking as Ryo round the corner behind the cat still standing in the door way its large brown eyes locked on Saya.

Saya continued her mumbling even as the Touma reached a hand out toward her.

"Saya it's ok, Byaruen won't…" Before he could touch her Saya flinched pulling out of his reach.

"I don't… why has it… what do you want from me?" Saya muffled words faded in and out of Shu's ears as despite her movement she continued to stare in Byaruen and Ryo direction.

"Saya!?" Touma called to her again this time concern filling his tone.

"Please tell me, why has it…?" she asked her head suddenly dropping before her entire body collapsed. Touma reached forward grabbing her crimpling form even as Shu jumped to his feet to help.

"Saya…?"

Seiji tried to shake off the daze he was in as Touma caught Saya, Shu rushing to help. /What the hell was that? / It felt the same as earlier by the waterfall but this time it had been much stronger. The white energy wrapping itself around Saya. Seiji couldn't shake the image he kept seeing a white figure wrapping around her in a hug like embrace as it whispered in her ear.

Saya's questions rang in his head as the tiger again watching the events, he was somehow linked too as Touma and Shu laid Saya out on the floor.

/ Something is very wrong with this. /

"Seiji snap out of it!" Touma called as Shu started to lift the now unconscious girl into his arms.

"What going on?" Nasty called as she rushed out through the dining room. She immediately went to Shu looking Saya over. "What happened?" she asked the anger in her voice clear enough for all to hear.

"It's my fault, Byaruen scared her," Ryo took the blame. Nasty glance at him before turning back to the girl.

"Well then it's probably nothing serious a simple faint. Shu take her up to her room." Shu nodded as Touma followed. Seiji started after them only to receive a glare from Touma stopping him in his tracks.

^What?! ^

^Don't come if you're not going to help! ^ Touma practically hissed at him. Studded Seiji simply stared back at the archer whose eyes were set in a dark frown.

Turning Touma ascend the stair hurrying after Shu. /Touma… /

"This is all my fault," Ryo muttered as he started passed Seiji.

"Ryo?" Seiji shook off the hurt he was feeling. /Touma and the others didn't see what I saw. / Ryo pause cast a guilt look Seiji's way. "It's not you're fault. Saya did just faint."

"What do you mean Seiji?" Nasty asked from the bottom of the stairs while Ryo look changed from guilt to confusion.

"Something," Seiji paused his brow creasing as he tried to put it into words. "…something was talking to Saya. I'm not sure what Byaruen has to do with this but I don't think he's what scared her."

"I don't get it," Ryo's sky blue eyes squinted as if he was trying to read some fine print stamped on Seiji forehead.

"Let go see the others, then I can tell all of you what I saw."

Shin stopped packing for moment as he felt it again. / Worry… fear… confusion. / He'd felt it earlier from his fellow troops, but he hadn't been unable to nail down a reason, because it fade too quickly, but this time the feeling were stronger and a cause clearly rang through his ears. /Saya… /

"So you're saying you saw it earlier too," Ryo confirmed.

"Yes, but I wasn't sure. It happened so fast and no one else seemed to notice so I assumed it just a flash from the sun hitting the water."

"Or some other stupidly logical explanation."

"We're troops for god's sake; we wear mystic armor created from a demon lord and you…"

"We get it Shu," Touma silenced him; casting another glance up the stairs were Saya was sleeping. She hadn't woken up yet and that was worrying him. /God… I can't take this, why the hell does she have to get involved. /

"So ok something was talking to her, but what does Byaruen have to do with it."

"Nothing," Touma stated with a sigh. "I think Byaruen was simple sensing or hearing this… whatever it was."

"Yes that's what I was thinking," Seiji nodded.

"So then it wasn't Ryo's fault at all," Nasty said as they continued to try and convince their leader that he had no reason to feel guilt.

"Then if it isn't Byaruen who's causing these energy flashes Blondie's seeing, who is it?" Shu ask to which Seiji only shrugged.

"But it was more then just a flash this time. It was as if another entity was wrapped around her."

There was silence for a log moment before Nasty who was reading over the notes she's taken earlier that morning said.

"Hey guys, remember this morning when Saya mention the barrier Kaos lift off her. She said after that there was a lot of background noise in her head. Do you think…?"

"That's might make sense."

"Yeah Touma, but why would she suddenly start talking to them when she sees Byaruen,"

"Ryo will you forget it. This is not yours or Byaruen's fault." Nasty exclaimed with a huff causing their leader to flinch.

"Maybe the noises are starting to come into focus. Byaruen could have something to do with that. He is very in tune to that kinda stuff," Touma muttered mowing things over in his head.

"And why is Blondie the only one to see it."

"Simple Shu, Seiji's better able to sense auras so naturally he'd be the first if not the only one to see a foreign aura, specially if it was weak or trying to hide from us."

"To hide…?" Nasty repeated glance up from her note, "what make you say that Tou…"

THUD!!

Looks were exchanged before the group rose quickly making their way out of the living room and up the stairway. As Touma ascend he saw her. Her body shook with effort as she pulled herself through the guestroom door clutching the handle to support her wobbling legs. She managed to pull body around leaning against the door frame. Her eyes held a wild, distance look; the gold normally present nearly gone.

^Something is not right, ^ Ryo's mind whispered as Touma started forward.

"Saya…" Shu called. Saya turn of her head toward them unfocused eyes falling upon the group. Touma watched her mouth moving slightly as if she were speaking, but nothing could be heard.

With resounding effort she pushed herself up stand as her body appeared to become more stable. Touma stepped toward her only to have Seiji stop him.

^Wait! ^ Seiji grabbed Touma's arm.

"Seiji...?"

"…don't underst…d… is it…pact…tell me… ean…" Saya words drifted in and out their volume shifting.

^ It is back. ^

^ Why can't we see it? ^ Shu grumbled as he stopped just a few feet in front of Saya.

^ It is hiding itself. ^

"Saya…?" Touma whispered, as Seiji continued to hold his arm not allowing him to get any closer to her. "Saya what's going on? You can tell us. We'll help you, I promise."

Her eye flicker with recognition for a moment, before fading back.

"Touma… I have to…"

"No there is no time…"

Everyone stop at the new voice that slithered through the air as smooth as water sliding over glass.

"What the…"

^ It's… ^ Seiji wasn't able to finish is statement as white energy began to rise from the floor coiling around Saya's body. Her head craned upward as the white light curled around her.

"Kuso!" Shu exclaimed stepping back as what look like finger trailed along her side, a long white arm draping over her shoulders.

"Saya…" Touma muttered as a face came to rest on her shoulder white lips brushed over Saya's left ear.

"No… I don't… tell me what you… uh!" Saya's body jerked her head falling forward while her body held still.

"There is no more time… the delay will cost you…" Its word whispered into Saya's ear sent shivers through Touma's body.

"What the hell is that?" Shu now recovering from his shock cursed.

"I don't know but it better let go of her now!" Ryo growled as he and Shu advanced on Saya and the white entity holding her.

Seiji grip on Touma which had started to loosen suddenly tighten as he yelled.

"Wait, no there's…!" Before the words could leave his mouth. Shu and Ryo had Saya's arms. "Shu, Ryo, get back!"

"You must not interfere!"

^Who's that! ^ Shu questioned, and was instantly answered as another entity appeared darker then the night stretching out its arms toward the two troops.

Before the entity's hands even made contact its energy blasted them backwards ripping their hands from Saya. Ryo slammed into the hall table wood shattering upon impact, splinters flying through the air were as Shu who had been on the railing side was sent hurling through the rail to crash through the dinner room table with the same effect.

"Ryo, Shu!!"

"Oh God Ryo!" Nasty and Seiji screamed.

The black entity leveled its face with theirs its almost obscure eyes waiting for their advance but when none came it turns it attention to Saya.

"Ojo we must go! Danger is approaching."

"Yes," The original energy nodded. Slowly Saya's head lifted her glassy gaze catch Touma's before she bolted to the side leaping over the edge.

"Saya!" Touma yanked free from Seiji as the white entity retreated to protect Saya's feet and legs as she landed before fading away all together.

Touma stood there a moment his mind screaming a thousand things at once as silence engulfed him. /Saya… Saya… SAYA! /

"Ryo!" It was Nasty's cry that final brought Touma out of his daze. He glanced back to see Ryo and Seiji bent over Ryo as he slowly came to blood dripping down his right temple and cheek.

"What the hell happened?!" He cursed shaking his head viciously.

"Don't do that!" Nasty hissed as she cupped his left cheek to stop him.

"Saya... the other entity."

"There are two? Shu!?' Ryo suddenly called the pushing himself up despite the protests from Nasty.

"Glad to see someone cares," Touma swung around to see Shu in his orange and white sub armor sitting on the remains of the table rubbing the back of his head.

"Shu!" Touma called as he hopped over the railing heedless of the height to help his brother. As he reached Shu Touma knelt down next to him. "Are you o…"

"Yeah, of course. Good thing I had my armor with me or I might have actually hurt something important." Touma smiled sadly before looking toward the kitchen door through which Saya had exited the dinner room.

Shu stood up next to him patting the archer on the back. Before moving toward the kitchen. Touma followed noting that Shu was bleeding just behind his left ear but knew better then to point it out.

"Well at least she used the door," Shu joked as the glanced into the kitchen, the sliding glass door open, allowing the warm summer air to flow into the room.

"We should hurry," Seiji said simply the two sword men right behind them.

"So then let's go!" Shu agreed as she the four troops started toward the door. /Saya… We will help you… No matter what's going on I'm here for you. Trust me. /

"So you decided to join us after all," Kenbukyou muttered as he felt Anubis emerge behind him.

"You! Hardly."

"Not that you'd miss out on an opportunity to see your dear…"

"Shut up." The statement came as a low growl the masho still stand a few feet behind him.

"What is it that you see in that child?"

"That is none of your business."

"That no way to treat your former…"

"Shut up!" Silence followed for a time before Oni appeared.

"I thought I sensed you," the red haired masho began, "We were wondering when you'd show up." Anubis said nothing to this and busied himself with glaring at Kenbukyou's back. / I hate him. I hate him! Bastard, sneak bastard. / Anubis could feel his scar on his face burning with as if remembering how it had come to be. / I should kill you were you stand for what you did. For causing me such pain, but then you'd know how much pain you cause, then you'd see how much you hurt me and that I won't allow I wouldn't lose what little honor I have left, especial not to you, Ken… /

^Come, the gate will be… ^ Shuten stop turning his head to the left as if hearing something. ^ Do you?"

^Yes…^ It was as if someone was whispering in Anubis's ear a low seductive call. Anubis glanced around noticing that they weren't the only one who had heard it, the bastard had hear it too. ^ Someone is coming. ^ Anubis said as Oni clad only in his sub armor nodded.

^ But who? That is not the whisper of Rekka or any of his companions. ^

Melting back into the shadows Anubis sent. ^ We shall soon see. ^

They were in a dead sprint spread out over a few meters as they combed the forest following the aura which was growing stronger.

Ryo could feel the fear and worry coiling off Touma as the four of them tried to catch up with the possessed Saya.

^ She's not far ahead. ^ Seiji informed them though he didn't need to. The two entities auras were very strong so strong in fact that Ryo was sure the archers was right about them trying to hide themselves.

Idly Ryo wonder what had become of Byaruen whom he realized he hadn't seen since Saya had awakened. / Saya first, Byaruen after. /

The underbrush swiped past them as the continued their pace quicken with an unspoken since of urgency. /What is this? I know this feeling. The Dynasty… no the Masho and Kayura. /

^Guys I hate to bring this up but does any one else sense… ^ Ryo didn't even need to finish his sentence as resounding `yes ` echoed through the link.

^Horrible timing as always, ^ Touma muttered as his sub armor glimmering as the metal was brushed by the moonlight.

^There! ^ Shu called pulling Ryo's attention away from the archer form to the as the still figure of Saya glowing in the night. The group came to a silent haul the sting from the wind as it washed over Ryo's cut cheek reminding him of the power controlling the brown haired girl.

^What should we do? ^ Shu asked.

^Wait. ^

^Wait?! But she need us now Seiji! ^

^No remember what happen last… ^

^I don't give fuck what happen last time. Saya need me, I… ^

^Touma! ^ Ryo yelled watching the archer flinch. ^Calm down. We will help her but we have to be careful. You don't want to hurt her do you? ^ The silence Ryo received assured him that Touma was at least listening.

^The Mashos are around here if we since this so do they. ^ Seiji said his eyes focused on the girl as energy continued to build around her.

^That why we have to hurry! ^

^Touma… ^

^Touma if she catches wind of us she may bolt again. ^

^ And run right into the friggin' enemy, ^ Shu grumbled at as much of a loss as to what to do as Ryo was.

^Stay here if you want, I'm going… ^ With that the stubborn, starry eyed samurai started forward again.

^Kuso… ^

The shadows had twisted begin devoured by a glow that shot passed them and then disappeared like a spark from a flame. But this little spark left a trail. Despite his interest to meet the young warriors who had bested Arago, Kenbukyou felt an innate desire to see just what this spark was.

"Now that was interesting," Shuten whispered as he stared after the figure. "I suppose we should see what it was or better yet who. " The red haired started began his pursuit red locks trailing behind him.

/We really don't have the time to spare. I'm sure the troopers have sense something by now, but… / The pull the lord of the east felt was to strong as if he was begin drawn to the spark like a cat to a bird. /Speaking of… where is Kokuen-Ko? /

Kenbukyou following the aura came upon the figure rather suddenly stands stark still her body framed upon the path by outstretched branches. She glowed with a familiar light, but at the same time Kenbukyou was sure he had felt nothing like it before.

"Well this is very interesting wouldn't you say Lord of the east," Shuten whispered as he appeared just beside Kenbukyou.

The lord only nodded as his ear picked up on an even fainter whisper.

"Please tell me. I don't understand what it is that you want."

"There is no time. The pact between us must happen now."

"I don't…"

"Saya?"

Her mind was reeling with whispers, secrets and promises that she didn't remember making and yet it seemed very familiar. Saya felt her body coming to a stop the voices which had blurred in her brain coming back into focus. Her body felt limb but as she started to collapse to her knees energy wrapped around her holding her in place.

"It is time."

"Please tell me. I don't understand what it is that you want."

"There is no time. The pact between us must happen now." This was Ojo the one holding her even now. /The one that protects me… /

"I don't…"

"The time for understanding is past. The pact must happen now." / Shinu… The one that attacked Ryo and Shu… Oh god it attack Touma's friends! /

"Why, why can't you just explain to me what it is you want? Why did you hurt them?"

"There is no time. You will not last much longer."

"What?!" Ojo's white arms that held her tightened.

"You will die, the interference was too great and too long." Shini told her its voice circling her.

"Your body must complete the pact that was started or you will die."

"What?! What pact?"

"The pact with us, the pact to aid us, you consisted to aid us," Ojo urged energy licking across her body, drowning her senses.

"Great danger is approaching…"

"The pact must be completed." /"Saya?" … Touma… I can hear you but.../

"Can you not feel the danger?" Ojo asked its voice rolling over her as it clutched her tighter pressing into her mind. As suddenly as it happened flashes, images long ago forgotten, pushed aside or blocked all together returned. /The wreck… I was in the wreck…? But I don't… Oh my god mama, daddy I saw you died. / The sound a tearing metal and shattering bones flood Saya's ears, the thick stench of blood flooding her nose. /I was in the wreck… The compartment was crushed. I… I died…/

"I died…"

"No you lived." Ojo whisper gently.

"We had been searching for a new bearer of our power," Shinu began.
"We could not see you die knowing that another like you would not emerge for

thousands of years. So I saved you." Ojo told her, "Protected you."

"And you promised to aid us. In the Death and Rebirth."

"That is the pact we made."

"The promise bidding, but interference has left a gap, which must be mended

quickly or you will die."

/No one told me… I never… Oh god mama, daddy! /

"Saya?!" Saya could hear him again.

"No there is no time," Ojo prompted her.

"Those who may yet be your foes or prove to be your allies can wait," Shinu told her.

"Now that you know, the pact must be completed."

"Will you allow it? Your promises, will you keep it?"

"Saya!"

"Time has run out."

"Make your decision."

"Saya!"

"Yes."

"Saya!" Touma continued to call to her as the conversation between the two entities and Saya continued unabated. / "Pact… promise… died…" How can what I've heard be true? /

"Saya!"

Touma felt the voices intensify but his only focus was Saya her skin coated in a shimmering layer of sweat as she stood her back to him. The transparent white energy holding her tightly as she shivered.

"Saya!"

"Yes." The whisper which issued forth from her lips trigger a sicken twist in his stomach. Touma eyes widen the words his mind had unconsciously heard sparked warn signal through his body as the darker entity faded into the nothingness while the other expanded growing more solid.

"What the hell is happening?" Shu yelled as waves of energy began to pulse off of Saya encasing her in a bubble of white power the entity's form gone as Saya raised her arms into the air.

"Saya!" Touma cried as a thundering rush of air washed back then collected around her. Touma fought the urge to hide his face debris being sucked up by the bubble disintegrating as it racked past him.

"This is very bad!" Touma found himself muttering.

"No shit!" Ryo replied his voice bellowing over the absolute silence that suddenly engulfed them the rushing of wind and energy halting. "Guys…"

The four troopers stared at a solid orb of compacted power that had collected before them.

"What is it?" Shu muttered.

"Trouble." As Seiji's word left his mouth and another vaguely familiar voice called.

"Let the rebirth begin. OJO!"

"Holy…" The energy which had appeared to stabilize suddenly expanded spread across the distance an in a matter of second all Touma knew had turned to white. /Saya! What's happening? Seiji, Shu, Ryo!"

Thousand of languages flood through Touma's ears until he final heard one he knew.

"Awaken armors!"

"The landscape flew by but Shin was paying it no attention until a bubble of light caught his eyes. Expanding across the land it engulfed everything in a wave of light.

"What the bloody hell?!" Shin muttered as he watched it near. Panic began to filling the passenger car as those onboard saw it and realized there was no escape.

^Guys?! Ryo, Shu, Seiji, Touma! What's going on?!^

"Awaken armors!"

The moment it had begun Shuten had taking and immediately departure calling for the others to converge at the open gate. Closing his eye Shuten followed his own advice appearing before the gate some miles from the trooper mansion. Upon arriving he faced the other mashos looking just as confused as he felt, but Shuten knew there was not time for explanations, but is seemed Kayura would want one anyway.

"What the hell is going on?!"

"That." Shuten pointed to the west as the huge mass of energy raced toward them.

"I see, perhaps we should return to Youja Kai," she said her eyebrows arching with surprise while she held her voice in check.

"That my dear Lady is a given." Kayura raised her hand the red gate of Youja Kai appearing as the doors were thrown open.
