Note, I usually “think” in anime :-P. Also take note that there is nothing particularly demon-ish in this chapter.
I smelled the cool night air as I went downtown in my sleek black corvette, thinking about my life and all that I've been juggling lately. I've had to take care of my adopted sister, whom I'd developed feelings for (which wasn't something that should have happened in my line of work), continue showing up at my concerts and playing for my fans, and lastly I've been bushed with such a large amount of jobs lately.
Taking a right turn towards the appointed meeting place I sigh as I begin to contemplate Sakiko. Sure she was sexy, I knew she'd been quite the heartbreaker with her long dark purple hair, warm chocolate brown eyes and her sweet grin that described an innocence that wasn't found often anymore, but she was my sister for God's sake! It's wrong of me to think of her like that, and for someone in my line of work these feelings are something that's holding me back. If someone were to find out they'd use it to their advantage. Not only that, two other things were that my hands were stained with the blood of many, and lastly was I wasn't even her exact species.
Gently rubbing my temples as I wait for the light to change to green, I decide to just forget about it for now and think about my job. I always come early anyways just to make a surveillance of the area. Taking a quick peek at what street I'm on I relax as I realize I'm only several blocks away from the designated rendezvous. This is where I'm at my best, for I know one thing; anything that happens, happens. Whether the plan blows up in my face or proceeds directly as I want, it'll happen no matter what. Turning left into a parking lot three blocks away from the meeting place, I park the car and get out, quickly taking my suit case which contained everything I needed for the meeting; I locked the car and turned on the alarm, making sure no one would be able to break in without me knowing. After taking the necessary precautions, I started off towards the alleyway that would provide me a quick entrance and exit from the warehouse. Gliding through it quickly, and watching every which way to make sure no one was hiding in the shadows, I managed to get to the warehouse without problem. Quickly entering after making sure everything was clear from the outside; I began the now mechanical process of setting up my protection.
Outside a white convertible stopped, allowing two slim men in black clothing step out. Taking a quick preliminary of the outskirts as well as the building, they deemed it was fine for the businessman to get out. During this entire process, they were unaware of the hidden camera taking note of everything they were doing and sending it back to where Hunter was waiting, allow him to assess their defenses. Normally he would go and make the deals over a phone, but he had a special assignment for tonight.
As they entered the building, he spoke into the mike that both covered his voice and allowed it to come from every direction, as he'd set up some speakers around the whole complex, allowing him to remain obscure while they were in plain sight.
“Welcome gentlemen. Over the phone you said something about a proposition that would be in both of our interests. I would like to hear you out right now to decide whether or not it'll be worth it.”
Even though the businessman had been spooked, he managed to somehow sound make himself sound important, giving off the oiled tone all businessmen have. “Well of course I have a mission worthy of the great Slayer, the man everyone trembles in fear of!”
Hunter sighs as he looked over towards them and said coldly into the mike, “Flattery will get you no where.”
Fighting down the urge to scream like a little girl the businessman managed to say somewhat shakily, “Ver-very well then. My hope is that you will… dispatch the head of the Fangs, who's been dealing in all kinds of illegal transitions and has recently kidnapped my daughter.”
Fighting the urge to smirk Hunter said, “And what would you be willing to pay for my services?”
The man who knew he had no control over the situation said, “Seventy-five thousand dollars.”
Hunter gave a barking laugh and said, “My dear sir, you see, recently the leader of the Fangs gave me a proposition, and do you know what he offered? No? Well, he offered me Two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars. That quite out marks the price you just suggested.” Quickly taking his sniper rifle he aimed at the businessman's head and said quite quietly, but loud enough to be transferred over the microphone, “Goodnight sir,” before he pulled the trigger and watched as the businessman's head exploded in a fountain of gore, blood, and brains.
Moving even as his would-be prospector's corpse was falling to the floor, he let loose two shots at the first bodyguard, hearing a resounding crack of a bullet breaking bone. Hearing the other bodyguard shooting randomly into the dark warehouse, he turned to him and shot him as well. Quickly looking down he scooped up all the bullet shells and walked towards the corpses, pulling on some latex gloves like doctors would use. Reaching into his back pocket he pulled out a pair of pliers. Kneeling by the man's corpse, he slowly used the pliers to take the bullets out of the man's body, unhindered by the fact that one of them was imbedded in the bone. Moving towards the other bodyguard's body, he noticed he was still alive and decided to end his pain by grabbing the man's head and twisting it completely around. Taking the pliers he again took the bullet out of the man's body. Turning around to the last victim, he bent down and slowly and methodically searched through his head's remains, finally finding the bullet. Taking the latex gloves off and placing them in a plastic bag he had placed near the entrance, he started the lengthy process of disconnected all the security systems he had used.
