“Nora! Let go of me! I have to go myself to get the Blood Diamond since it seems everyone around here is too chicken to do it! Even you Nora, even you hate me enough to hold me here and keep me in this invisible cage with those chains you so detest.” Ai struggled to get away from Nora's firm hold on her arm as he retorted, “Ai! You don't have the strength to defeat your enemies! Not everyone will listen to reason like Tessa did!” Nora paused and Ai caught a glimpse of a pained expression on his face, “Ai...I know you don't love me anymore, but please listen to my words, for they are only in your best interest.” She had always known that Nora still loved her even though she had gone to Kent. But Kent had abandoned her and she couldn't go back to Nora. What was gone was sometimes lost forever. Being the princess of her world she got many suitors, but none had that aura that Nora and Kent both possesed. “Nora, I'm sorry. I have to go, if I don't, no one will be able to save our precious world. My only regret is that you don't share my passion.” Nora's grip loosened and he let go. Ai turned and began to walk away. Nora looked up and asked her, “Is that how you really feel?” Ai stopped, “Yes. It is how I feel.” She turned around to look at Nora, about to say something her mouth was open, “Nora, why are you cryin--!?” But he cut her off with a kiss, long and tender, Ai returned it hoping she wasn't giving him the wrong idea. When they finally parted in need of air, Nora turned and ran down the hall. Ai, still stunned from the kiss didn't have the voice to say goodbye.

Kenshin stood at the gate in front of Kamiya dojo. Behind him the sun had started to peek over a distant hill. He took a last glance and began to walk quietly down the street as he thought about how guilty he felt for leaving his friends behind. Especially Kaoru, he didn't know how hard she would take it. And he hoped that he would be able to return someday to say sorry. But he didn't know how long it would take him to find the Blood Diamond. They all had just gotten back from Kyoto and upon returning home he received a letter from the head of the Imperialist government sending him to find the Blood Diamond. He had kept the letter a secret and decided the sooner he left the easier it would be. He continued down the road until he noticed some one was watching him. He spun on his heels and glared angrily at the person behind him. Expecting an enemy he had already drawn his reverse blade sword and was running at the man. At the last second he realized it was Sanosuke and managed to avert his blade from hitting Sano directly. He had just grazed his arm and had torn his sleeve. “WHAT THE HELL WERE THINKING, ATTACKING ME LIKE THAT!? Man! I thought that you knew it was me! So what had you so caught up in your mind that it took you that long to realize it was just me? Nevermind that! Why are you leaving!?” Kenshin, while putting the sword back into the scabbard replied, “I can't tell you the reason, that I can't.” Sano, apparently pissed off because he didn't tell him why he was leaving, shouted, “So what the hell am I supposed to tell Kaoru!?” Kenshin paused, “You'll think of something, that you will.” Kenshin turned around and started to walk again. Sano continued to shout at him and tried to stop him, but he ignored Sano and kept walking. At one point Sano threw a rather large rock at Kenshin. Seeing no other choice, he turned around and waited for the perfect moment to use battou jutsu. He made his move, sliced the rock in half and jumped at Sano, hitting him square in the torso Sano blacked out and collapsed in Kenshin's arm. As planned Sano thought he jumped to cut the rock, in truth Kenshin had used that as a diversion so Sanosuke couldn't defend himself. Kenshin brought Sano back to the dojo and left as he had earlier that morning. “Goodbye...everyone.”
