The Wondering King (Part 2)
All Inuyasha and Utena disclaimers apply!
"Well if it isn't my gloomy brother." Inuyasha said when he saw Sesshomaru.
Sesshomaru pretended to be annoyed by that remark. He knew that Inuyasha was only joking. He replied " It seems like some things never change. What did you want to see me about? This had better be good because I have a busy day today."
"Don't worry this won't take up you whole day. Just wanted to tell you that your going to be an uncle." Inuyasha answered with a smile.
"Well congratulations, brother. Maybe fatherhood will make you more grown up. Kagome must be a goddess. She'd have to be, being your mate and willing to bear you pups. So when is the pup due?" Sesshomaru said. He was somewhat glad about this.
Inuyasha chose to ignore some of his brother's remarks. He answered "I just found out last night after Kagome and I mated."
"I don't want to know about your sex life! I just had breakfast." Sesshomaru said after he rolled his eyes.
Inuyasha smirked and replied "You had better get a move on with Rin (if you're going to keep her). Kagome might be carrying the next King of the Western Lands."
When Sesshomaru saw Kagome, he congratulated her. He knew that she would probably tell Rin. All day long, Sesshomaru couldn't get that last remark that Inuyasha made out of his head.
That night, Rin noticed that he was pretty down. She embraced him and asked "Is there something that is bothering you?"
He looked up at her and replied "Not really. I just haven't gotten over the shock of my brother becoming a father."
Rin knew not to ask anymore about it. She went behind his back and started to massage his shoulders. Sesshomaru loved the way Rin massaged him. While she was doing this, Rin picked up with her tale from last night.
"Touga then went to Utena and removed the outer layer of her riding clothes. They tightly clung to her. Once they were off, he quickly took them to the fireplace to dry. Touga also took the outer layer of his clothing off and placed them near Utena's clothes. He found some blankets and went back to the futon with them."
"Utena was still unconscious. Her inner kimono clung tightly to her body. Touga admired the curves of her body. He was tempted to take her, especially when he could see her breasts thru her inner kimono. He decided not to. It was against his principals. Touga took one of the blankets and wrapped it around Utena. He had another blanket wrapped around him. He stayed up the rest of the night by her side, waiting for her to wake up."
"Early in the morning Utena woke up. The storm had stopped and sunlight pierced throughout the small house. She sat up and looked around the house. She didn't know where she was, nor how she got there. Utena then saw Touga sleeping in a sitting position, near her. "However I got here, Touga must have brought me here.' She thought. Utena was touched by Touga staying by her side, but not surprised. When she removed the blanket that covered her, Utena realized that she was wearing only her outer kimono. Utena got up and looked for the rest of her clothes. She found them at the fireplace next to Touga's. The fire had gone down. While Touga was still sleeping, she got dressed."
"When she was dressed, Utena went to the kitchen and looked for something for her and Touga to eat. The soft noises she made woke Touga up. He rubbed his sore muscles and saw that Utena wasn't on the futon. He stood up and walked to the fireplace. Touga only saw his clothes. He quickly got dressed. Once he was dressed, Touga looked for Utena."
"He didn't look too far. He saw that she was in the kitchen look for something. 'Good morning Utena. How are you feeling?' Touga said to her."
"Utena looked up at him and smiled. 'Good morning to you Touga. I'm fine except that my head hurts a little. Can you tell me where we are and how did we get her?' She replied."
"Touga was mesmerized by her smile. He replied 'When it started to thunder, your horse threw you off and ran away. You were knocked out by the fall. When I found you, I picked you up and rode with you till I found this small house. Because no one was there, I let myself in. Once I was in, I placed you on the futon. I then lit a fire in the fireplace and took off your outer clothing. I placed them near the fireplace to dry. After that I found some blankets and placed one of them around you. I must have fallen asleep while staying by your side, waiting for you to wake up.'"
"Again, Utena wasn't too surprised at this. She walked up to Touga and kissed him on the cheek. 'I was trying to find us something to eat but there is nothing here.' She said afterwards."
"Touga couldn't help smiling after that kiss. He felt as if the gods had handed him a gift. 'Don't worry about it. We'll find something on the way home.' He said to her."
" 'We can both ride your horse together. There is no need for me to ride this alone and for you to walk.' Utena suggested when Touga put her on his horse. Touga was stunned when she said that. He got on the horse, with Utena in front of him and one hand on the reigns and the other on Utena's waist. Utena blushed slightly. They then rode away from the small house."
"Lord Tenjou was relived when he saw Touga and Utena. He was curious to know what happened to them when he saw them come back on one horse instead of two. He would find out the truth when they saw him."
" 'I'm sorry for making you worry about me, when Touga and I didn't come home last night. As you know Touga and I went for a long ride. During our ride, it began to rain. We decided to turn around and head back home. We were halfway home when the rain got worse. Touga and I decided to find some shelter, till the rain stopped. Nothing happened while we were in that shelter.' Utena told her father."
" 'You left one question unanswered. How come you and Touga came home on one horse?' Lord Tenjou asked his daughter."
" 'Oh, it started to thunder. My horse got frightened and threw me off. The horse then ran away. Touga found me and we then found some shelter afterwards.' She answered.
"Lord Tenjou looked at Touga and knew that his daughter spoke the truth. He was glad that nothing really bad had happened to them."
" 'May I walk with you in the garden?' Touga asked Utena that night."
" 'Sure, I'm not doing anything tonight.' She answered."
"They walked into the garden. Touga spotted a fragrant white rose. He picked it and placed it in Utena's hair. 'Utena if you were to ever fall in love with someone, what would that ideal person be like?' He asked her."
"Utena couldn't believe that Touga was asking her this. No one had ever asked her what she thought. Not even Miki. She looked Touga in the eye and said 'It would have to be someone who would love me for who I am. He would also have to let me be myself and not see me as an ornament and a maiden to bear him sons.' She told him truthfully."
"Touga smiled and wondered if the gods were with him tonight. There was something he had to do, even if Utena slapped him for it. He pulled her close to him. He took her in his arms and kissed her softly on the lips. After they broke from that kiss, Utena's face turned beet red. She was too stunned to slap Touga. She then turned around and ran out of the garden. Touga again smiled. As he walked out of the garden, he saw the white rose that Utena wore. It had fallen down on the ground when Utena ran out of the garden. He picked it up and took it with him."
"On his way to his chamber, Touga saw Lord Tenjou. 'Touga, may I have a word with you, before you retire?' He asked Touga."
" 'Yes ,you may.' He answered. Touga wondered what Lord Tenjou wanted to talk to him about. Lord Tenjou took Touga to a place where they could talk."
" ' I would like to know who you really are. This arrived last night (he hands him a scroll). It arrived by a messenger.' He said to Touga."
" 'All I will say is that I'm really a nobleman from Kyoto ,seeking a maiden that will love me for the man that I am, not because of my wealth and power. Also, your daughter is the only maiden that has captured my heart. With your consent, I would like to one day make her my wife. I'd also like her consent too.' He told Lord Tenjou."
"Lord Tenjou thought for a moment. He then said 'You remind me a little of myself when I was young. You have my consent to marry her because I know that you'll take good care of her and make her happy. As for her consent, knowing her you'll probably never get it till you're as old as me. I think that I can help you there.'"
"Touga looked at the scroll and said 'It appears that this has been opened and resealed.'"
" 'So it has.' Lord Tenjou answered. He then walked away."
"Once he was in his chamber, Touga opened the scroll and read it. It said:
'Return to Kyoto at once. The nobleman of Kyoto insist on your presence. They want their king to return from his travels.
Saionji'"
"After reading it Touga got his things together. He hated to leave Utena but he had to face his duty as a king. He got a blank scroll and wrote something down. After he finished writing Touga rolled it up and tied it up. Touga left his chamber and crept into Utena's chamber. He placed the scroll near Utena. For a moment he looked at Utena's sleeping face. 'I'm going to miss you my beautiful feisty maiden. I wished that I could have taken you back to Kyoto as my wife. Unfortunately, I can't because I don't know what is in your heart. You'll make a wonderful queen.' He whispered."
"Kneeling next to Utena, Touga kissed her softly on the lips. The kiss was light enough that it did not wake her up. Touga then crept out the chamber and left for Kyoto."
"Bright sunlight peered thru the chamber and on Utena's face. It had awakened her. She sat up and stretched. When she was more alert, she saw next to her pillow a scroll. Utena opened it and it read:
'Utena,
Unfortunately I must leave here. I have to go to Kyoto on some business. I'm going to miss seeing your beautiful face. You'll always be in my thoughts and heart even though I may not be in yours.
Touga'"
"A tear went down on Utena's face. She couldn't believe that he was gone. Against her will he had crept into her thoughts. 'Touga was the first and only man that I couldn't push out of life, no matter how hard I tried. He's also the only one that care about what I thought. I hate to admit this but I think love that handsome son of a bitch.' Utena thought."
"It was early autumn when Utena arrived in Kyoto. She had left about a month after Touga had left. She had traveled with her father. Lord Tenjou had told her that he had some business with the king. They were staying at a friend's house. Utena wanted to find Touga as soon as she arrived. Lord Tenjou had convinced her against it and promised to help her look for him when he was finished his business with the king."
"While Utena was waiting for her father, a messenger came to her. He bowed to her and said 'Lady Utena, His majesty the king would like you to come to palace and have tea with him and Lord Tenjou.'"
"Whether she wanted to or not, Utena knew that she could not refuse such an invitation. The messenger waited while Utena changed. She was dressed in a jade green kimono with white roses. The messenger then escorted Utena to the palace."
"She was taken to a chamber. From the inside of the chamber, she could tell that it belonged to a man. It was decorated very much like your chamber. She thought that it was an odd place to have tea and thought for a moment that this was a trick of the king's to get her in bed. She then realized that she was meeting her father here and that the king would never try anything in her father's presence."
"Utena heard the door slid open. She saw her father and to her surprise, Touga was next to him. 'You are the last person I'd thought that I'd see here. I was expecting the king coming with father.' She said to Touga."
"Lord Tenjou laughed and said 'My daughter, Touga is the king. I've know that since the night he left.'"
"Utena didn't think that was very funny. She picked up a teacup and threw it at Touga. He ducked and the cup smashed against the wall. Lord Tenjou had just left the chamber, knowing that Touga could handle this himself."
" 'You lying son of a bitch!'" She shouted when she threw another teacup at him. Touga again ducked. Before she could throw something else, Touga grabbed her hand and held it."
" 'Utena I'm very sorry to deceive you. I had my reasons. Let me explain.' He said to her."
"She calmed down a little. 'Well this had better be good!" Utena said to him."
"Touga told Utena his story and his feelings for her. 'What makes you think that I'm going to say I love you and want to become your wife.!?' She answered."
"Touga smiled and pulled Utena close to him and kissed her passionately on the lips. Utena pushed him away. 'How could you leave me without saying goodbye to me in person? I missed you since you left.' She said when she caught her breath. Before she could say another work, Touga cut her off and kissed again."
"He picked her up and said 'Tomorrow will be our wedding day. Now let's pick up where we left off, that night in the garden.' He placed her on the bed and on that night, their firstborn daughter was conceived."
Rin noticed that Sesshomaru was still down. "Has my tale upset you?" She asked him.
"No, I enjoyed the tale." He answered.
Sesshomaru then rested his head on Rin's chest. She ran her fingers thru his soft silver hair. "You smell good Rin. What kind of soap did you use?" He asked her.
"It was made with gardenias. Lady Kagome gave it to me." She answered.
"Oh… Thank you for telling me." He answered.
"Don't be so down about Lord Inuyasha and Lady Kagome expecting their first child. There is a bright side to it. Like Touga and Utena, they could have a daughter." Rin said to him.
Sesshomaru smiled at the thought of that. "If my brother and Kagome have a girl, then I have nothing to worry about." He thought. He then looked at Rin and said "Just for that, I'll let you live a week."
