Aoshi stared at Misao's body, and then looked at his hands. He dropped the blood cover Kodachi, and looked to the ninja. She was trying to crawl away. Aoshi glared at her and the picked Misao up, hugging her body to his. "If you are still here when I return. You will be dead." Aoshi voice was crisp as ice. He walked to the gates and left.

The ninja watched them, and tried to stand. She got to her feet and then climbed back in the tree she had been in, with much pain. She left the way she came.

Kenshin had arrived at Dr. Gensai's, and Kaoru was being worked on.

Flashback

"Dr. Gensai!" Kenshin called as he pounded on the door. The door opened, and Kenshin shoved his way past. "She's been poisoned." Kenshin stated breathlessly.

"Megumi," Dr. Gensai called, as he ushered Kenshin to place Kaoru on a near by table.

"Dr. Gensai?" Megumi came in, and shoved Kenshin away from the table. "I can't work on her while you stand there.' Megumi started to give a diagnosis, and Kenshin left the room and sat in the waiting area.

End of Flash back

Kenshin still sat there waiting for them to tell him good news or bad. He bowed his head, then looked up as the door slid open. His eyes widened and he stared at a soaked Aoshi, carrying a covered Misao. Dr. Gensai came out and looked at Aoshi "What happened to her."

"She was stabbed in the shoulder." Came Aoshi iced reply.

"Follow me, we need to put her the warmest room, I need to see how much blood she's lost." Aoshi came back out of the room and took a seat next to Kenshin.

"You come back injured and expect us to let you lived." A dark raspy voice spoke.

"Please I know their weak spots now." She breathed heavily.

"Then speak." The voice stated.

"No, then you'll throw me away, before I get better I offer you a deal." She smiled to herself, gasping pain.

"Then what is it?" The voice said growing impatient.

"You must wait until I am healed to try and harm me. I can fight against the ones that do, and if I win I get to stay alive." She chocked in pain. "I will not tell you until I am well either.

"Very clever, but if the information is that important, then I need to know now." The voice howled.

"Your too intrigued now, aren't you?" She groaned in pain and slumped to the floor.

"I am, but their are other ways to get things out of a person, Soin." The voice cackled as a black globe incased her and she disappeared. "Soin, you may be clever But I am always more so.

Aoshi held his head as he waited for the doctors to come out. "Well they will both be fine. Misao has lost quite a bit of blood and will need to stay here over night so we can monitor her. Aoshi stands and looks at Dr. Gensai

"Thank you." He shakes his head and turns to leave.

"Please she was asking for you, she just woke up. She would like to see you." Dr. Gensai pleaded to him.

Aoshi sighed turned and walked past Dr. Gensai. "How's Miss Kaoru?" Kenshin voice meekly.

"Megumi has figured out what type of poison, she's making an antidote, until she gets the antidote we won't know. Dr. Gensai smiled at him and turned and went back into the room Kaoru was in.

Kenshin sighed and started at the wall.

"Misao," Aoshi called lightly.

"Aoshi," Misao smiled at him as she tried to sit up in bed. She tried to meet his eyes, but she couldn't. He wouldn't look at her face. "What happen to the girl ninja?" Misao quipped trying to get him to look at her, `Still no dice.'

"I let her go, like you asked." Aoshi sighed and looked at her, still not meeting her eyes.

"That's good, I would have strangled you if you had hurt her more. I know you wouldn't have killed her." Misao took a deep breathed and groaned.

"Misao?" Aoshi questioned concerned," He saw her face change to a look of pain, and then went back to a smile.

"I can't take deep breaths I keep forgetting," Misao giggled lightly.

"How do you know I wouldn't have killed her?" Aoshi calmed himself.

"Because you lost that part of you when you met me." Misao smiled and then lay back down. Aoshi stared at her. Misao stilled at him until a yawn came upon her and she drifted off to sleep.

Aoshi sighed and walked over to her kissing her lightly on the lips and moved strands of hair, in her face. "I will watch over you always, I will be back as soon as I can, please don't be angry.

Aoshi walked out of the room and toward Kenshin. "Kenshin, would you mind looking after Misao for awhile. I know a place you can hide out for a while, it was the place Misao and I stayed at for the last year. You will have a better chance to protect Kaoru, as well as Misao. There's also some of my clan there. They will help you protect Misao and Kaoru.

Kenshin stood and nodded his head, as he took a piece of paper from Aoshi. "Can I ask where you are going?" Aoshi had turned his back toward Kenshin.

"I will be leaving to train. I wasn't able to stop my self as I had thought. I could still kill without mercy, and I could end up hurting Misao even worse. I thought I had that out of my system, but fighting that ninja reminded me of fighting my sister long ago. She was ruthless and because of her I am how I am today." Aoshi left the building and walked into the dark night air."

"Regretting life is not something anyone needs, that it is not." Kenshin voiced aloud as Megumi came from Kaoru's room. He turned toward her. "How is Miss Kaoru?"

"Your right regretting life is not what we all need, but many are not blessed with being able to get over life a easy as others." Megumi lifted her hand to her forehead her sleeve falling down. Kenshin saw a red scar across the back of her wrist. "Megumi dropped her hand covering her scar and waved for him to follow her into the room.

I know this is way shorter than usual, but I just can't write anymore for this chapter. I am sorry that its only a little over three pages long, but I need to update and I also have to let you all know that I will be removing chapters 6-13 to get them in the right order in about three days. By the end of getting the chapters up with corrections and all, this chapter should be lengthened and I should have chapter 15 done as well I hope you all will continue to read even after all my corrections. Chapter 5 will be replaced with the last chapter that Demon-gurl formatted for me. She has said she will finish them when she gets more time. So as soon as she gets those done and sends them to me I will post them, but I will not wait for her to get done with them, that would be mean. Please don't be too angry with the short chapter. I wanted to update the story before I fix my chapters. I have them out of order and well I have tried to fix that like 5 times now and I still have them out of order, so I will have to take them down.
