Rurouni Kenshin Fan Fiction ❯ A Wedding at the Kamiya Dojo ❯ Chapter 1
A Wedding at the Kamiya Dojo
Sano wakes up on a gorgeous morning. The sun was out, birds were chirping… Then Kenshin enters Sano's room unannounced.
Kenshin: (looking surprised) Why aren't you dressed yet?
Sano realized that Kenshin was dressed up. Outside he could hear Yahiko laughing. Actually, there were a bunch of people outside talking… and they were ALL dressed up! Sano looked back at Kenshin who was holding a white tuxedo.
Kenshin: Come on Sano; quit stalling you're getting married today, that you are.
For moment Sano's mind went blank, he couldn't speak, and he didn't know what Kenshin was talking about. Then his memory came rushing back to him. Of course… he had asked Sakura to marry him and she had said yes. Today was the day they had been waiting for. All of their friends had shown up to watch them get married.
Kenshin: I wouldn't want to keep Sakura waiting, that I wouldn't.
While Sano put on his suit Yahiko was outside annoying the guests. Sakura had already begun to get ready with Kaoru's help. The girls were talking and laughing and crying together as most women do on their wedding day. Sakura couldn't wait to spend the rest of her life with Sanosuke.
Kenshin was Sano's best man and gave him tremendous support, in his own Kenshin-like way. Sano was grateful to see all his friends here to support him. Even Megumi showed up. All the guests had taken their seats. The ceremony was about to start. Sanosuke couldn't wait to see Sakura walk down the isle. He couldn't wait to see woman he loved. The smile never left his face.
Kaoru was the first down the isle. Kaoru was wearing a formal kimono and had a delicate flower in her hair. Kenshin couldn't take his eyes off her; he didn't think she had ever looked more beautiful. Kenshin put his hand in his left pocket. There was the ring he was holding for Sano to give to Sakura. In his right pocket Kenshin felt the ring he meant to surprise Kaoru with after the ceremony. Kenshin was ready. Ready to tell Kaoru that he loved her, ready to commit his life to her. Seeing Sano so happy on this day, Kenshin wished it were him. Kaoru looked at Kenshin with her smoky eyes and he was more sure than ever. She was the one.
Then it was Sakura's turn. Everyone stood up to look at the bride. Everything paled in comparison to her beauty. Sano could see no one but her. Sakura looked like an angel in her white kimono. She was practically floating down the isle. She was actually glowing. Sano didn't think there had ever been a more beautiful bride nor would there ever be again. Sakura had taken her place beside him and reached for his hand. He felt her warmth; her smile captivated him, her eyes…

OW!
Sano was rudely awakened by Kaoru's teacup hitting the back of his head. Kenshin was standing behind her with a goofy look on his face. Sano also noticed a white tuxedo hanging in the corner of his room.
Kaoru: Wake up you idiot! You're getting married today!
