"All I have To Give"

Chapter 1

"Move faster!! Put these fires out!!" Tayla Otau, a resident of Ichida village cried out. She was seventeen years old, with blazing emerald green eyes and shoulder blade long golden hair highlighted with Sunkist streaks. She was 5'7" and a reverse blade sword was in its sheath, while bow and arrows hung around he back, she was wearing her ceremonial fighting clothes like she always did. (Her outfit is pretty much like Inuyasha's, just light blue)

She ran around her village shouting to others to put the fire out or guard this area, and it was because they were being attacked, so far they were holding out, but the north gate had collapsed and homes were rapidly being torched as well as people killed.

She pulled out her bow and positioned herself to attack the oncoming men, loading an arrow, though the arrow was smoothly pointed rock. (It's basically a slightly pointed rock that will hurt like the ba-geebus when it hits you but it doesn't kill, she's a peaceful villager, lol)

She fired on and a shout sounded, a man falling off his horse and onto the ground.

Tayla turned her head to note her friend, Rosa coming up while she was holding her arrow. "Oh good, I could really use your help!" Rosa Kazumi was about 5'5" and was a very skilled Samurai at the Ichida Gakkou; she had dark brown eyes and waist long black hair with golden highlights, a Samurai sword sheathed at her side.

Rosa nodded; picking up a rock and chunking it at a man who was about to torch another house, knocking him square on the noggin. "We have trouble, the South Gate just went out! Everyone's being driven to the center of the village, at this rate, we won't have enough power to stop them, we're out numbered."

Tayla clenched her teeth as she fired another arrow. "Kuso! This village will not go down! I won't let it! (Kuso mean shit =I)

Rosa frowned and pulled out her Samurai blade as the man approached closer.

"We shall fight to the death."

"Hai!" Tayla cried and leaped forward, unsheathing her reverse blade and attacking with her friend.

Smoke wafted through the air as well as the smell of burning flesh and the cries of the dying. Tayla looked around frantically as she raced through the village. It was slowly emptying; the men who had attacked were strangely leaving. "Rosa!" She yelled, she had yet to meet any living villagers and her childhood friend was no where in sight.

She fell to her knees, coughing violently but still looking around, her eyes watering and bluffing her vision. "Rosa!"

"Tayla!" Came an agonized cry.

Tayla gasped and jumped to her feet, running toward the sound of the yell, finding her friend sitting up against a charred building a large gash in her side. "Rosa! What happened?"

"I was helping Onii-san with the west gate when they rushed it and we didn't have a chance, they're all dead." She said in despair.

Tayla frowned and ripped the bottom of her pants, quickly wrapping Rosa's side and picking her up on her back. "The men are leaving and so should we, I'm sure our families would rather us live, but when we have our health, they will pay, the Shoji will pay!" And she hurriedly headed for the hidden forest path at the north end of the village.

Yahiko headed out the back doors of the Kimyia Dojo. "I'll be right back lady Karou!"

"Alright!" said a voice down the hall.

He smiled and continued on just taking a nice stroll through the forest, yawing after a few minutes if walking a stopping to look around.

He blinked when he caught site of a head of black hair, proceeding through some brush, his eyes widening. "Oh, are you alright misses?" He kneeled by two girls; the black haired one was sitting against a tree while the other blonde haired one was lying on the ground some feet away.

The blonde haired girl stirred, opening her eyes and groaning. "Ohm…"

Yahiko quickly went to her, sitting her up. "Are you alright, what is your name?"

"My name is Tayla and I think I'm fine, but my friend-" She coughed.

He blinked and looked over to the slightly bloody bandage. "Stay right here Miss Tayla, I'll be right back."

And he got up, hurrying of to fetch Kenshin and Sanosuke.

"Did she say where she came from?" Kenshin asked in the hallway with Yahiko and Sanosuke, looking through the crack of the door at the girl named Tayla who lay asleep.

"No, she just said her name and she was worried about her friend." Yahiko repeated for the third time.

"Well she should be," said Miss Megumi as she came from around the corner of the hall. "I'm surprised she even survived, she had a nasty sword wound."

Kenshin raised a brow. "So she's going to be ok?"

"Yes." Megumi nodded her head. "All in all she'll be pretty sore for a week or so, possibly, both these girls will be out for a month, they lost a lot, I just got word the Ichida village was attacked and burned down and from their look, I'll say they're the only survivors."

Sanosuke frowned and looked in at the girl lying on the bed. "Man."

Kenshin quirked both his brows when he remembered something. "That Tayla girl had a reverse blade just like mine."

"Well perhaps she doesn't prefer to kill, just like you."

Sanosuke was walking down the hall to the side training grounds of the Dojo after doing some chores and eating breakfast, he decided a nice exercise would do some good.

He stopped, noticing the side doors were slightly opened, he opened it up further, looking outside, and blinking.

Tayla stood outside her reverse blade sword in hand, eyes closed.
