Rurouni Kenshin Fan Fiction ❯ And So It Is ❯ And So It Is ( One-Shot )

Author's Notes: Wow, another Rurouni Kenshin songfic. I know you all are getting tired of these…But I love em and I'm going to keep writing them…hehe…so um, just read and review and feed this poor poor author!! ^_~ Ohand the song is called "Blowers Daughter" by folk singer Damien Rice.

I don't own Rurouni Kenshin or Damien Rice…Damn.

And So It Is

Kenshin sat in the grass outside of the Kamiya dojo, after his fight with Yaskia. He sat watching Doctor Gensi's grandaughters. The wind blew softly and brought the sent of Cherry blossom with it. He looked up, imagining Yaskia walking towards him, with her bright cheerful expression. But that would happen no longer. He had turned her into a bitter, emtionless woman; the cheer in her eyes was dead. The fire that she had was gone.

And so it is,
Just like you said it would be,
Life goes easy on me,
Most of the time,

Yaskia looked at the bright red apples in the market she saw a glimpse of fiery red from the corner of her eye, she turned quickly in hopes of seeing her beloved Kenshin. But it was just her imagination. She remembered her times going to the market with him; he'd lean over her shoulder and look at the item she was looking at. She adored those moments. And now they were gone.

And so it is,
The shorter story,
No love, No glory,
No hero in her sky.

Kenshin turned the corner, waving to Megumi as she stepped out of a shop with Sanosuke following closely behind, he placed his goodnatured smile on as they walked by. He walked down the the street through the market, spotting a black kimono with roses, an anniversery present to Yaskia, he sped up his pace, in hopes of speaking with her…Trying to get her to take him back.
As he approached he looked over her slender figure, she had grow skinnier since their break up, and yet she still held the beauty that she had when they met.

Yaskia smiled at the merchant and handed her the two yin she owed him, he handed her the purchase and she turned bumping into someone, she looked up and saw the cross shaped scar on the person's face. She bit her lip and felt his arms go around her waist, the feeling of being in his arms once again, the comfort that she had missed so much over the weeks gone by. She kissed his cheek and sighed softly, still upset at what had happened, and yet…Her defences were weakening as he held her. She lost herself in his embrace; it was only her and her Kenshin…Nothing more.

We'll both forget the breeze,

Most of the time

Kenshin smiled and rested his head on her shoulder, taking in her scent. He couldn't help but feel complete, he was with his love once again, her arms went up and draped over his shoulders and her lips pressed against his in a gentle kiss.

And so it is,
The colder water,
The blowers daughter,
The pupil in denial
------

She smiled as he returned the kiss, and resumed resting his head on her shoulder, happy memories flashed through her mind as she held him close to her.

The it hit Yaskia, the memories of what he had done to her…How he had used her, how he had broken her fragile heart.

She gently pulled herself from his arms, wiping the tears from her eyes and turning her back to him shunning him away, not allowing him to see the pain and suffering he had put her through.

Kenshin watched as she walked away, shaking her head and wiping her eyes. He felt his heart break as he stood there.
