Blood Stained Ground

The drops, the drops of life sustaining blood,
Pouring, pouring down upon the ground,
The sadness rushing up into his throat,
A swelling lump that just won't go down,
Blurry vision replaces the sharp focus in an instant.

As he sees the body of his love drop to the cold ground,
Thump, thump, her heartbeats growing more faint,
Thump, thump, and then silence fills the air,
A gasp is heard from her mouth once more,
Then nothing comes out again forever more.
A cry of hurt, is heard from him,

The pain he is suffering from now,
The knowledge that he was the one, who did this,
His despair and guilt has resounded the silence of the land,
A shattered heart, broken to shreds,
His heart thought to be never repaired again,
The only one who could have is now on the ground,
With her own blood pooling around her,
Her body is still, no breath of life left,
No heartbeat from within.

Her warmth remains but is leaving fast,
Only to become cold and stiff like a stone,
Cold like the snow that surrounds them.
He falls, falls onto the ground,
Scoops her up into his arms,
Trying desperately to warm her with his touch,
Time passes by, but he takes no notices,
Her blood is staining his clothes and flesh,
His tears finally come and fall like a river from his eyes,
Blood and tears connect, the tears try to cleanse him,
This tormented soul with her blood on his hands,
He openly laments for his lost love, his wife,
Who should have never met a fate such as this.

Opening his eyes he peers at her lovely face,
Her eyes are never to look at me again.
Why did this have to happen, why?
For what reason did you have to die and leave me?
Why did you have to die at my hands, my wife?
One day I hope I can see you again.
But for now, they won't until his time has come.

Lifting her lifeless form into his arms,
He glances a look at the blood stained ground,
A crimson snow shows where they had just been,
He turns form it not wanting to see the proof of his guilt,
He walks into the shadows to a place that he leaves her,
Her final resting place, a place she can be at peace,
A new path has been formed and he travels on it.
