Chapter 13

Kenshin arose before dawn. He stood up slowly, and stretched. His fluid movements similar to that of a cat's. Kenshin walked with unnatural grace, not one wasted movement, not one unnecessary sound, and made his way over to the open door, and glared outside with a menacing scowl. His eyes were mere slits, and looked like melted gold with flecks of jet black. At this moment, Battousai was stronger then ever. The rest of the morning, the house was being prowled by an angry swordsman who would rather kill you than even look at your face.

“Kenshin?” a questioning voice uttered, immediately Battousai swung around, to face a limping, blood-soaked and frightened Kaoru.

“Yes, my pet?” He replied, the utter possessiveness in his voice making Kaoru jump.

“What the hell do you mean, `my pet'? What do you think I am anyway?” She yelled back at him, instinct being the only thing that kept her form curling up into a little ball at his feet. She had never before meet anyone so terrifying. She had never meet someone that radiated loathing and anger the way he did.

He didn't even give a second thought to her. Picking her up, he stated simply “You shouldn't be up, love, you could re-open the wound,” and walked back to her room cradling her in his arms as if she would break. Once the destination of Kaoru's room was met, Battousai gently yet firmly laid her in bed, pulled the quilt up to the gentle curve of her breast, and then proceeded to kiss her lightly on the lips.

She just stared at him, looking as though she had just seen a ghost. His eyes, they're the same… was her last thought before falling asleep under the watchful eye of Kenshin.

Sorry for not updating. My friend recently killed himself, and I've had…..distractions from my boyfriend **cough** yeahhh…….. anyway, Read and review. I don't think I'm going to finish the story. I have no clue if it is good, or bad.
