Full Moon

Chapter 1

Yes, being a werewolf wasn't all that normal for Sanosuke, for, unlike most, he could control himself while in a wolf form. However, this did not prevent werewolf hunters from trying to hunt him down. He hoped that Kenshin would understand that even if he were to stay put for too long himself, they would find him eventually. Then, both of them would be in trouble. As if true to the fact that he had spoken aloud his thoughts, Kenshin came running up to Sanosuke. "Sano... There are some men to see you right now.", Kenshin told him, "They say they knew you from Sagara's group.",

Sano looked up at Kenshin, before going to face what he'd known was true all along, they'd found him here, and there was nothing he could do. Except to show Kenshin his secret, at least. Sano went to take a look, to find that this was true that the two standing there were hunters come to kill him. "Ah, Sanosuke, what a pleasant surprise.", one man said.

"I don't know these two freaks.", Sano said.

"Awe, of course you do, Sano, and we'll be back to make sure of it, we'll give you until the next full moon to think on whom we are, Sanosuke Sagara.", the second one told him, "We warn you not to bring anyone along with you to the Three Wise Men Boulders, before sunset got it?",

"I will, you can count on it, I'll make sure to see you....", Sanosuke replied, "The last night, or the first night of the full moon?", Sano asked.

"The first, like we said, nobody but yourself.", the man replied.

With that, the two left, and Kenshin came up behind, "It seems they mean business, that they do. They are slayers, but not in a way that I can see.",

"That is why it is important you stay here when I leave, Kenshin.", Sanosuke replied.

Of course, the next full moon arrived quicker than usual or so it seemed, but, Sano left all the same, well before the moon came out. However, he didn't notice Kenshin leaving to follow.

As Sano reached his destination, it was just getting dark enough for the process of change to begin.... Sanosuke felt his body changing, bones shifting, and muscles strengthen, his senses all became four times that of any humans, he fell onto his hands, and knees from the sensation that always came with the changing. Just as it finished, the two hunters from a month before emerged from the trees. "Ah, so you have decided to come, too bad it wasn't alone.", they said, as one held Kenshin up by his neck.

Sanosuke looked in horror at the multiple cuts up and down Kenshin's body, and ran for the two of them. They banished their swords at him, ready for battle, only Sanosuke shattered them between his teeth. He felt the power of the moon behind him, and was readying himself for the true attack, he managed to get one man down, and knocked out with a quick butte to the back of the head, then, he paralyzed the other by breaking his spine half way down. "Sano....", Kenshin's weak moan came.

'Kenshin...', Sano thought to himself.

Kenshin passed out from exhaustion, and Sanosuke dragged him to a nearby cavern where he had kept his spare clothing for after these sort of changes. Sanosuke sat there by Kenshin until morning, then he changed, and waited for Kenshin to wake up. "Sano?", Kenshin asked, weakly a few minutes later, "Was that all... Was it all real?",

"Yes, Kenshin, all of it was real.", Sanosuke replied.
