Neko Kenshin

Prologue

Dear Readers,

I am new to this section, so I'm starting with a bang. One, I noticed no Neko- Jin (I hope it's spelled right, if not oh, well.) Also known as cat- person fics. So, I'm going to introduce this new concept to you guys! Hooray! Anyway, I also just started watching RK on Toonami, so I may get the names wrong, anyone who can e- mail me a list of the names, please feel free to do so.

Kenshin ran through the thickets of trees, and underbrush after an enemy who had claimed to have kidnapped a poor innocent bystander in order to get him to fight. The man was already greatly injured by the former man- killer. As Kenshin leapt up into the air, with Sanosuke, and the others watching on. This was to be the final blow, one that would knock the guy out. However, just as Kenshin raised his sword a flash of silver struck him sending him falling into the thickets of brush.

Sanosuke ran, dodging around the man that had tried a sneak attack upon them while they were walking. Sanosuke reached the spot where Kenshin had landed, only to find his clothing all laying there in a big bundle. Sano picked the bundles of clothing off the ground, only to find they moved at his touch. He started to unwrap the bundle until a little red head showed among the bundles. Large, violet eyes stared at Sanosuke innocently, yet filled with pain and tears. "Ear hurt!", the now little Kenshin whimpered.

Sano just then noticed the shredded ear with a small glint of a dart sticking out from it's torn, and tattered skin. He removed it, careful of the tip. "Kenshin, do you remember who I am?", Sano asked.

"Kenshin no know, Kenshin scared and hurt.", came the reply.

"That's right, Sanosuke, he doesn't remember anything except his name, as his new owner's requested. Poor little neko- jin can't last long without a family to care for them. So, hand him over so I can take him home to his family...", the mysterious man replied, coming forward.

Just as he was to reach for Kenshin, Yahiko came sliding in, and hit his arm away. "You will not harm them, got it?", Yahiko yelled at the man, "Or else.",

Sanosuke ran and punched the guy in the chest, breaking one of the enemy's legs in the process. "Just hope someone finds you before you die of starvation or wolves.", Sanosuke spat on him.

Kenshin shivered, crying into Sanosuke's chest. "Kenshin?", Yahiko asked, "What happened to him?",

"I think whatever was on these did this.", Sanosuke said, holding up the dart.

"Kenshin ear hurt.", Kenshin whimpered.

"Maybe Dr. Genki knows about the drug used. That and he can fix Kenshin's ear.", Kaoru suggested.

"Good idea, come on then...", Sanosuke said.
