Arrogant. Arrogant and cruel.
ÒArrogant?Ó
A woman who sought you to revenge her fianceÕs death fell in love with you instead.
A doctor of good family, great beauty, and strong character was drawn to you.
A strong spirit, an honest and generous heart invited you to join her life.
None of them wise enough to know her own mind or judge you, though.
Silence thickened.
ÒBut. . .cruel?Ó
You do not wish to indulge your passions.
You will not slake the thirst of your spirit.
What of her? Her desires?
Are you so busy denying and punishing yourself that you have no room for compassion and generosity? The spirit dwells in the body; punishing the body punishes the spirit.
Complete arrogance. Unnecessary cruelty.
A red head bowed beneath the weight of kindly meant cruelty.
