Act 13: Rejection and acceptation; Kaoru's verdict

Saitou tossed the papers on the table as the three came to circle around the board. Aoshi took one having his eyes focused on the information placed in the report.

"Yukishiro Enishi... also know as the TIGER...25 years of age... famous outlaw... killed a thousand men in Persia... in Korea... in Hong Kong... known as the Jinchuu master... using a Watoujutsu known as the nerves of insanity..." he looked up to Saitou with more like a surprised facial cast.

"I did well didn't I?" Saitou gloated as he lights a cigarette in his mouth. Misao looked in each files in disbelief, "Where did you get all of these...?" she asked.

"It doesn't matter, I want you guys to study those information's."

Misao sat on the stool having three records on him. "Lin Piao... Lei Shao Mi... Kam... Who are these people?" Misao asked curiously.

"Members in the organization named `Bloc of doom'. Their the ones whose supervising the auction house in the forest."

Sano just stared and was stunned to see a familiar face stapled on the paper. He instantly snatched the paper from Aoshi's hands and looked closer to prove is his intuitions are true. Unfortunately, Sano wasn't that good enough to read and so he asked Aoshi to read the data.

Name: Zhao Ming Shi

Pseudonym: Lynx

Age: 20

Verve: A killer as well know to be the `Tiger's' partner in misdeed. They're known to be

the invulnerable dyad. She's well-known to be the greatest swordwoman in Hong Kong.

Aoshi noticed Sano's sudden shock, "Do you know her?"

"She's that woman in Rakuninmura. The one who looks after Kenshin!"

"Wha-?" Misao yelped just as she instantaneously hurdled off from her chair, dashing her way to the others. "You mean she's the same person who took Kenshin away?!"

"hmm... these things are getting really interesting..." Saitou spoke from the side.

"It says here that she was renowned as Enishi's partner." Aoshi added.

"More like the two were taken by the same organization!" Misao divulged in her notion. Sano nodded and smiled, "If that's so... we can effortlessly find the two in no time!" he exclaimed having his eyes glisten rapture. After examining each available figure, Aoshi looked on Saitou with a malcontent look in his eyes. "This isn't enough. We still have no idea what these people are capable of."

Saitou's grin formed in his mouth having his arms intersected over his chest. "So that's what you think it is ne, okashira?"

"Aoshi's right. What exactly are we going to do to save them out of that Underworld?" Sano surmised.

"I've got a plan..."

"Kenshin...?" she whispered between the light gust and air around her. She rubbed her eyes and tried to view the vision ahead of her once again. She was quite sure her mind wasn't playing any tricks at her or anything.

He draws back his Sakabatou and just stood there to watch her reaction. He could see how stunned the poor girl was. Who wouldn't be after long moments they haven't seen each other? "Kaoru."

`It's him! It's Kenshin! He's here! He's here to...' she was obstructed between her thoughts painfully to think that something was wrong with her. `...Save me... he's here to take me home...' her usual shimmering eyes lit it's pools in the thought that her savior is here, and he's ready to take her. Unfortunately...

"Uh?!" she was suddenly held by Kenshin's fist and hadn't realize for a moment that she was being dragged along. "W-wait! Where are you taking me?"

"Somewhere safe. We can't stay here." Was all he could say as he ceaseless tows her around each of the cavern's secret passages. Kaoru could not oppose nor resists in his sudden propound. She was speechless in the reality that Kenshin was finally here, in front of her, dragging her all the way through the cave. She had no idea whether to be blissful or staid in his sudden appearance. And before anything else, her ankle HURTS!

He let out a huge yawn in boredom. He had been inside the meeting room for an hour and no matter how he oppose in those filthy comptrollers; they wouldn't want to pay attention upon him. He had been completely informed in their capital outlays and all he would wish were just to stride off from the tedious room. He leaned his head against his palms while looking blankly out of no where. `Aren't there any interesting particulars happening today?' he thought irritatingly. He had no idea what was wrong though something was bothering him and he couldn't pin it out what it was.

When the narration about the assets were finished to acquaint, a certain figure of a woman came barging inside the hall. Zhao walked straightly to Enishi's location and hastily lean to whisper something in his ear. Everybody was stunned at first though since they're all busy with the bonds of the organization, no one contemplated in their scene. Enishi stood out from his seat and followed Zhao to the library located next to the meeting room.

She shuts the door behind while Enishi crossed his arms, leaning his body against the wall. "What's with the sudden rush?" he asked more like nonchalant in his tone.

"This has something to do with my Shinta and your wife." She firmly replied.

Enishi slacken when he heard the word wife. He changed his usual jaded eyes into fretful ones. "Shinta? Who's that? Why? Did something happened to her?" he catechized.

"First of all, I have to unburden myself. A secret that I have been keeping from you for some time now..."

He raised a brow on her in meddlesome, "What are you talking about?" he asked.

"Himura Kenshin... he's here... the man so-called to be your archenemy." When she said those words, she noticed him gotten all caustic having his temper rise to its turning point. Enishi tighten his fist, his teeth gritting thorough as his eye started to kiln in anger.

"What the hell is he doing here?!" he yelled.

"I took him with me Enishi... he's been hiding in my shadows when we arrived here in Shanghai..."

"You're saying that you had kept something like this to me through all this time?! You actually took that bastard here with you?!"

"I- It's just for some... some sort of reasons! You maltreated me Enishi! I thought to have this revenge upon you though I didn't know-"

"How about Kaoru? Where is she?!"

"I- I have no idea! All I know is... Kenshin had this knowledge of Kaoru being here with you... I have no idea if he already approached her or something..."

Enishi didn't waste neither a single minute and straightaway went outside. "W-wait! Where are you going?!" Zhao bellowed in fright.

`Damn... this is not right... what if Kenshin went to see her... to save her and take her away...? F*ck*ng hell! I can't let him do that so easily!' he drowned through his thoughts, not hearing anyone although Zhao and almost everybody called for his attention. He was fully determined to leave the auction and confront Himura Kenshin as soon as he could. He would never allow him to take Kaoru away. Never would he allow him take another special woman away from his life again.

She couldn't help it but to camber in pain. Kenshin noticed her sudden halt and instantly took a glance at Kaoru. "Kaoru-dono, daiijobu ka?" he asked as he saw her palpate her feet. Kaoru fumed in anger and in distress as she lays her fist to hit Kenshin's head until his face encounter the ground.

"BAKA! I have a swollen ankle and you just dragged me all the way!"

With spun eyes, Kenshin who was slightly stoned blurt out, "Oro..." (@.@)

Kaoru sighed as she whiff at her seething fist, `Wow... I did long for that one...' she opened her eyes and saw Kenshin forth her in a very serious way. "N- nice to see you..." she neurotically said.

Kenshin saw her shake and he had no idea why she was so tense. He walked towards her and placed his arms around her. He perceive she needed some comfort and he did so by caressing her just the way he does before.

On the other hand, Kaoru just froze in Kenshin's sudden act and just stayed stunned with an open mouth. She was so speechless in surprise and... and in fear. Something was bothering her since he appeared. So puzzled why couldn't she be so happy in his arrival. She had waited for this moment to come for such a long time and now here it is. Kenshin came to take her away from this Pandemonium. She should be delighted to be separated from an underworld organization. She should be contented in the fact that she could return to Japan and see her beloved family. She asked herself, `Why so crestfallen?'

Tormenting might be as he watches them from a far. Kenshin had Kaoru between his arms and Enishi couldn't help but to teem in pique and invidiousness. Seeing someone else place neither a single finger upon his woman drives him off too demented. Though, what possibly could he do? That man was Himura Kenshin, the man Kaoru had been with for almost two years. The man Kaoru loves. He has no right to intrude in their fancy encounter. "Please... please don't... don't let him take you... please..."

She didn't returned any inclination to him and just allowed him do what he wanted to. Kenshin savored the moment and leaned to whisper on her ear, "I've missed you so much... I thought you're already dead Kaoru... sorry If it took so long for me to come..." he spoke furtively.

`Took so long?! Took so long about TWO months?! Is he serious?!' she shouted at the back of her mind. `You never came when I was waiting for you and now... and now you showed up when I'm starting to...' she trailed off from her thoughts when Kenshin released her and held both her shoulders.

"I'll take you Kaoru. We have to escape. This place is dangerous for the both of us."

"H- how are you going to do that?" she asked, almost half of her agitated in what he just said.

"It's easy to escape this place especially when Enishi and the others are out on the other side of the cave."

"Enishi's a very strong man Keshin... I don't think-"

"I may have been almost defeated when we fought back in the dojo though-"

Kaoru let out a gasp as when she saw Kenshin's usual violet eyes turn to its... golden ones. More like battousai's eyes showed forth her.

"I'm prepared to fight him if ever he tries to involve you in our conflict..."

Enishi quickly took the initiative to hide behind the tree as when Kenshin parted away from Kaoru. They separated their ways as Kaoru walks her way to his direction. `What's happening? Kenshin had that moment to take her. Why didn't he...' he clenched his fist as anger came to struck him out, `why didn't he took her? Is he trying to maltreat me in agony? I don't understand this…'

"Enishi?"

He was nonplussed when Kaoru suddenly appeared next to him. Her gaze was more like questioning and confused. He turned his head to her with widened eyes. "Ka- Kaoru...?"

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

"H-huh...?" he felt his heart jump off from his chest in the incredulity he felt. He never anticipated Kaoru's presence and in no way he felt so wordless before.

"Enishi?" Kaoru waved a hand forth his capacious eyes until Enishi shook off his head to regain composure. "…"

She was shock as well to see him. Ne'er did she anticipate him to be in the same place where Kenshin took her. She thought he was still in the auction house and now, he's here, dumbfounded in her sudden emergence. More to that, she fear that he might witnessed Kenshin with her just a few minutes ago. `What if he saw Kenshin hugging me...? What would he think now...? Is that the reason why he's so startled when he saw me?'

Words were trapped in his throat as his eyes started to roll it self just to avoid encountering Kaoru's prying ones.

"I was just... oh the hell!" he took her wrist and instantly pulled her and placed her against the tree as tempered as he could which caused a gasp to come out from her mouth. "W- what are you doing?"

He gripped her shoulders having that very little space between them, "Kaoru..." he perilously flawed. Kaoru blushed in her situation having this distance face to face with Enishi. He was in grave as his eyes started to lit down from it's usual cool ones. He seemed to be troubled and she had no idea why she saw such emotion towards his pools.

"Enishi, if you're-" he didn't let her let out ne'er a single word.

"Shh... I know..." Enishi voiced back. `She's here, now what?'

"Y-you saw us... me and-"

He nods in response, `This is now or never... I have to tell her before... before..'

"I saw him with you and he did arrive here in China which was evidently impressive."

`He did saw us... Now that he detected Kenshin talking to me, is he trying to continue his plans? Is he planning to kill Kenshin at this very moment?' visions of how things would end up if ever Enishi confronts Kenshin started to whirl in her head. She didn't expected that event would come so soon though she was still confused in how she was feeling right now. She feared that Enishi might track Kenshin down and kill him and at the same time, she feel so rueful in the thought of being saved and taken back to Japan... away from Enishi.

"We both know the reason why he is here and that is to save you." His voice turned more like pain-racked his words. He looked away in fear to encounter her eyes. "I also knew how much you desired to leave me and return to your home with that bastard... but..."

"B-but what?" Kaoru asked in the rate of having this anticipation within her. `Please say something to force me to stay... please... don't let me be taken away from you...'

"I would want you to know that I..." he suddenly falters through his words.

"That you what...?" Kaoru's losing her patience in waiting for any suitable words and so she took the chance to take Enishi's chin and motioned his head to face her. "Face me Enishi... what is it that you wanted to tell me...?"

Finally, Enishi complied in her request and stared down to her confused pair of azure eyes. He frowned in defeat and loosened her grip off from her shoulders. She watched him take her hands and clasped in between his as she trails her stare to see his anxious eyes.

"I know that I could never compare our fine experiences as husband and wife, than those memories of you and that Kenshin's way back before..." he started, "I know that you had been with that man for such a long time than with me... I know I could never confer myself in how much you loved him although..." he raised a single hand and placed it near to his chest as his other hand went to grope her cheek.

"I want you to know... how much I love you... even for a short time we had been together... I'm deeply, certainly... in love with you..."

Her eyes widened in stupor. This is it. He finally said those three words she had been longing for him to say and it finally came true in this very moment. `He loves me... he really loves me...' the thought of those words cause jolts of calmness inside her heart.

He pressed her hand against his chest and looked upon her broaden eyes, "And this heart belongs to you Kaoru... only you who owns it..." those sweet words completely took her off track. She almost melted against it.

"I believe that you don't feel the same way and I know-" Enishi started to go all wrought-up and it made Kaoru wonder all of a sudden. "you would leave me soon. But there's one thing I needed you to know Kaoru-"

"E-Enishi..."

"I don't want you to leave me... I love you so much... please don't go-"

"Enishi I..."

"You're important to me,"

"Umm… Eni-"

"I'll do anything just please stay with me... I may not worthy for you yet I would do anything just to satisfy you…"

Kaoru watched him blabbered continuously and the sight of him getting all tense and emotional induces a cute look upon his usual staid aspect. She couldn't help but to laugh. Enishi saw her release such giggles and it barely looks more like insulting him after all those words he just professed. Kaoru couldn't take the sight of him getting annoyed and she laughed more.

"Why are you laughing? After all those things I said to you... after I said that I loved you... after I pleaded not for you to leave me... and all you could do is laugh?" his voice was more likely tormented in despondency and mortification.

"I... I'm... I'm so sorry Enishi... I... I didn't mean to..." she continued giggling which drove Enishi's calmness. He stepped back, turning around pouting to himself with arms crossed. Kaoru noticed her laughter was too much and Enishi was starting to sulk in frustration.

She smiled inwardly and approached to his position. She encircled her arms around Enishi's chest having that well-built body pressed against her fine frame. She lays her head in the plane of his back, which completely shock Enishi at first. "I was just... I was just so happy... so happy that you finally confessed... I had been waiting for this moment for such a long time!" she muttered while shutting her eyes to feel his warmth.

"W-what do you mean?" he asked befuddled as he swivel around to face her. He grasps her shoulders while looking thorough her eyes.

"I never wished to leave you Enishi... as what I have said before... I want to heal all those anguish that boy feels right now... I care so much about you..." she flushed in deep red as her eyes switch its movement to evade his upcoming dubious glare.

"B-but, I thought you're ready to leave me... I thought you love that murderer... I thought you want to return to your home and be with your family once again?"

She looked up to him and smiled. A smile full of vivacity and satisfaction, which he didn't expected to see. "You haven't given me the chance to explain everything..." Kaoru once again blushed though this time, she tried to look bona fide as she clashes against his olive pools.

"I love you too Enishi... as much as you do to me..." she shyly said though no matter how soft she had spoken it, her words ringed inside his head.

"Kaoru... are you... are you serious?" he asked unbelievably. Kaoru muted an answer by nodding. He was surprised though the fact that she loved him too completely caused thrills of complete happiness knock his heart.

Enishi slowly moved his hand to her neck leading a path to her jaw and unto her mouth. His other hand enclosed her waist and leaned closer having the tip of their nose brush at each other. Kaoru felt this hunger having his lips pressed against hers just as when his breath lightly touches her pinkish lips. They shut their eyes and definitely ready to start a loving kiss.

"Can I...?" Enishi whispered against her lips.

Kaoru gave him a nod in return; "Please..." as she immediately placed her arms around his neck. Enishi pushed her against him and placed his lips upon hers.

At first, their lips were just pressed at each other and soon started to explore each mouth. `I didn't know he had such soft, full pair of lips…' she thought. Enishi withdraws a second to look into her eyes, which was shining in fervor and truthfulness. He swooped down and took Kaoru's mouth once again. She could feel his tongue prying to gain entry and she did so having their tongues encounter in such a sweet slow motion, add to that, a mix of moans and groans were released in passion. She ran her hands through his fleecy snowy hair as he pulped her closer to him.

`Never had I felt anything like this… being kissed… being caressed… being dominated… I loved it all… I don't want this to end…' she said at the back of her mind as she lets herself being dragged in Enishi's ministrations.

Her lips were flexile and malleable under his own, and soon her mouth was easily invaded by Enishi. Her tongue was deliberate and laggard which confirms how naive she was when it comes to kissing. He was famished and longing for his needs as their tongues shifting velvety against each other. Enishi guided her to tilt her head sideways, for his tongue to slide in and out of her mouth. She was moaning having a pleasuring hiss in each stroke of exploring.

Soon, they both crop up for air, breathing rigidly as Kaoru's chest started to weaken in the intense heartbeat that keeps on throbbing inside her. Still leaning at each other, forehead to forehead, nose to nose.

"I love you... do you love me?" he asked out of wind.

She nodded in reply and grinned, "I do love you Enishi... you just don't know how I longed for this moment..." she whispered breathlessly.

Enishi showed this lopsided smile and grabbed her head to merge their lips again for an another cumulative kiss. His other hand ran coarsely on her back having that need inside of him to taste her. A mix of a pleasuring sound of a moan out from her mouth and a demanding groan from Enishi's throat was heard. Much to note that they were quite blatant in each encounter. Enishi would withdraw for a second to give her wet lips light pecks and flicks and would dive in into her mouth again to relish her sweet taste.

They parted for air having both eyes locked together while panting out. Enishi never loosen his grip upon her body as his sole finger traced her now swollen reddish lips.

"It's getting late... I think we should be heading home by now..." he whispered next to her ear. Kaoru agreed in his request as she gives him a chaste kiss with a very pleased beam.

"I'm willing to be taken..."

Though her words didn't directly unfurl it's meaning, Enishi showed a well-nigh-roguish smirk. He pulled her by her hand and walked their way out of the forest.
