Smile

Everyday I live it through

Not for money or for love, I do it for myself

Even though with these feelings one should kill themselves

That's all I really knew.

Crying, anger, and hatred grew,

Working morning to night,

Without a fight

But this is what I now do.

I hide my feelings from them,

Concealed and hidden

Since no feelings are given,

I'll do this to the end.

There is one emotion I show,

I show it to everyone

I show it to some,

It's one everyone knows.

It's a smile that's plastered on my face

It confuses them a lot

Thinking I have an evil plot,

Their fear beginning to race.

But it's just a mask

It's all a lie,

As I hide my emotions inside,

These emotions I have left a horrible gash.

So now I smile

Day in and day out

Not a scold or a pout,

At least for a while.

"The strong shall live and the weak shall die,"

But is it that wrong to be weak?

Those are the thoughts that would weep.

Those are the words I lived by.

But a smile is all you'll see,

Through all the fights

There will be no light

Until the day my soul is set free.
