Rurouni Kenshin Fan Fiction ❯ The Missing ❯ Weakness ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
"I wonder where Misao is? She usually is here when Aoshi comes down." thought Okon as she stood up "I'll be back Okina, I'm going to go cheak on Misao." After Okon had left the room, it was kind quiet, before Sano spoke "Yea the weasel is usually down here."
[[ At Misao's Door]]
Omasu knocked on the door softly before opening it slightly "Misao honey, are alright? You haven;t been down..." She stopped. Misao's bed was rolled up and the only candle light revealed the emptyness of the room. She saw the peice of paper on the desk in hte corner. Okon slid the door the rest of the way open before she went over to the desk picking up the paper. It had what she thought to be tear drops, that had stained the paper.
Dear Okina,
I know this may effect everyone, but I must leave. I can't take his Silence no longer. Don't you see that it is slowly ripping me apart on the inside, thinking that my love is all vain? I hope that one day you and the other's will forgive me for my weakness.
Everyone turned to see Okon come down the stairs without the smile she had went up with. She walked beside of Okina "Here this is for you." Okina looked at her hand as in disbelief.
"Take it" said Okon harshly, throwing the paper at Okina. Omasu stood up from where she had been sitting "Okon come with me" She took Okon's arm and dragged her out into the hallway.
"What is wrong with you?" said Omasu looking at Okon's saddened expression.
"She's gone. Took off."
"Misao?"
"Who do you think?!" said Okon coldly.
Omasu was about to say something when Okina called for them both. They both went inside the room.
"She will be coming back. I have no doubt she will. Till she cools down from whatever has set her off." replied Okina putting the now folded letter in his robes.
"I'm going to bed." said Okon turning and leaving the room without waiting for an answer.
[[ Misao ]]
"Damn it." she said as she neared a village where she might be able to find a place to sleep "it's way too cold tonight." As she neared the villiage , she could see the faint outline of someone along the water line. But she dismissed it and went on into the town. After going into the local tavern where it was room she went to the bar lowering her hood. A man with dark brown hair and hazel eyes came to her "May I help you ma'am?"
"I need a room for the night."
He went over to the wall and took down a key "Room seven." She handed the money that she had been asked to pay for when she had come upon this place last time she was trying to get away from Kyoto. Misao went up the staircase, through the first hallway, and into the next one till she came to her door. She took the key unlocking it, and going inside of the room. Misao shut the door and locked it before going over to the bed. She would rest here for a couple of hours before setting off to Osaka the next morning. She closed her eyes after blowing out her candle.
