Rurouni Kenshin Fan Fiction ❯ There Must Be No Witnesses ❯ getting to know you ( Chapter 3 )
..But the impression passed and she held Kaoru tightly, pressing her warm body to hers.
"Ah, Battousai" she said, narrowing her eyes, "at last."
Chapter 3
Kaoru felt the coldness of the blade on her throat, Seya's arm wrapped tightly around her waist. The other girl's body was pressed almost painfully against her back, and she could feel Seya's uneven breathing. But she wasn't worried about her own safety.
Her heart was with Kenshin. She could only begin to imagine what he was going through. All the guilt, all the pain.-and what worried her the most- all the anger she knew was building up slowly, dangerously, within him.She worried about what he might do.He would never let Seya hurt her, she was certain. But if he hurt Seya, he would never be able to live with himself.Who knew what might happen.
Fear gripped her chest when she heard Seya's low voice.Sultry, taunting.
"And if I don't let go of her? Then what, Battousai?" silence from Kenshin. "And if I kill her? What then?" her voice was becoming lower and lower. Kaoru could feel her warm breath on her neck, and her small, taut nipples against her back. She squirmed, praying silently that the younger girl would stop provoking Kenshin. But she was about to do quite the opposite. By now she was somewhat informed on how the Kenshin/Battousai thing went. She realized that if she wanted Battousai, she would have to drive Kenshin over the edge.Even now his cold gaze was back to violet, much to Kaoru's relief.
Kenshin remained impassive. Seya's body tensed for a moment, and then she spoke softly into the other girl's ear.
"I `m sorry Kaoru." She pulled out a small knife from a sheath strapped to her ankle that no one but Kenshin had noticed until then.
( A.N: Personally, I hate it when characters produce small weapons out of hidden places, but in this case it was necessary.)
She grabbed Kaoru's left hand unceremoniously and put the short blade under her middle finger.
Once again she whispered into Kaoru's ear, just loud enough for Kenshin to hear.
"Your hand is so beautiful, beloved." -her eyes were on Kenshin's.- "But not as lovely as your face…" her body pressed firmly against Kaoru's.The pressure on the thin finger was becoming unbearable.Seya's lips on her neck and ear…
Kenshin's face reddened and his eyes shifted to Kaoru's hand, which was dripping with blood. But his gaze remained blue.
Seya swore under her breath and felt panic rise in her, like a wave, crashing against her internal walls. And a feeling of dread began crawling up to her throat. It wasn't working! Now she would have to kill Kaoru…
Wait a minute. What was wrong with her? Of course she had to kill Kaoru! He would suffer. He had to feel pain.Like she had.And she had to feel warm blood on her skin.Like that night…
That night, when she had left her hiding place, the closet, as soon as the Man had left. She had never seen a dead person before. And she had never seen so much blood. Blood, blood everywhere. On her mother, on the floor, on the walls. On her, even. Warm, sticky, deep red BLOOD.
…They had come a few hours later.Had found the body.Had taken her away.Away to China, where her mother's sister lived. She had been a very quiet child…a very quiet child.
Her aunt's husband taught Kendo. He was a wise man.He was kind. But he could not save her.Not from herself, he couldn't. All he could do was teach her how to use a sword. But her soul had slipped between his fingers.
So when she announced that she was going back to Japan, he had let go of her.He knew that what was plaguing her nights with nightmares and visions was calling her, and it would never let her rest.He did not know of amber eyes glinting in the darkness.-They had never talked about that.- But he knew of the waves of heat that invaded her body.Of desires, of nightmares that woke her up in the middle of the night. That left her burning, burning.
So she had left one day, sword tied at the waist. The sun shining high in front of her.He had to cover his eyes to follow her receding form.He knew that he would never see her again. That she would kill, and she would suffer. That she would travel many years, trying to find whatever it was that she had lost that night. But once innocence is lost…
She had travelled around Japan, looking for Battousai, finding him in every tavern and in all the other places she had slept around in.And she had killed, and she had suffered. But she had finally found him.The one responsible for all her pain and all her anger. It was only fair…
A malicious smile lit Seya's features. Her whole body tensed and Kenshin saw that she was getting ready to kill Kaoru. There was really no point in delaying it any longer. He had to fight her.He was only making her angrier by trying to reason with her.
"Alright.I'll fight you Seya." he said softly. For a moment she thought she had heard wrong. Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
"You'll fight me, then?"
His violet eyes locked with Kaoru's.
"Hai."
"No!" she whispered.Seya ignored her.She could barely contain the savage joy that had invaded her.She sucked in a deep breath.
"Fine. Then I accept your challenge." she said softly-" But I will kill her anyway."
A.N: That's chapter three.I'm delaying the clash of swords until chap four because I thought we all needed to get to know Seya a little better.about the mention of kendo, it's the only sword fighting style that I could think of.If you know the name of a better one compatible to Kenshin's style, please let me know.
That's all.Reviews are welcome.
