Rurouni Kenshin Fan Fiction ❯ Valentine Meetings ❯ Valentine Festival ( Chapter 1 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

I don't own any characters from Ruroni Kenshin.

I have to admit that Silver Miko (sorry if that's spaced wrong) gave me the idea for the story. I hope you don't mind.

It is a Valentines Day fic and all, but hmm I don't have it planned out really just an idea that has come up is all. We'll see where it goes from there. It won't be a huge fic maybe 5 chapters at most, not quite sure yet. Oh I know how you feel about working on Valentines Day I did it sucked. But my shift wasn't quite as long only 4 hours, but I had to request it off. I know that this is posted after but it was partly written on Valentines Day.

Anyway should get on with the story, the story contains stuff with Aoshi and Misao. It will have some Kenshin and Kaoru as well, but I don't know about the Rooster or Fox (relation ship wise) yet sorry for all those fans.

There may be a little OCC

It was an awkward start for a day. Who else gets their hand stuck in a jar, and has to break the jar. It was such a pretty jar too. It had yellow and red Rose petals all over it. It was made out of a beautiful glass and had a unicorn head on, with the mane blowing in the wind, and the petals in a circular patter around its head. I sat on the floor with the glass piece of the unicorn head. My shoulders were slumped, and my best friend was snickering his head off.

"Shut up," I finally huffed as he had been snickering for over a half hour now.

"Why? Who else gets their hand stuck in a jar?"

"Yeah, well...." I huffed and then just slumped my shoulders some more.

`Its not fair, he doesn't even know the story and he is already laughing at me. Besides that he has no idea how valuable this jar was to me.' I growled and stood up, placing the piece of glass on the counter nearest me. I turned to face and glared at him. "You don't even know the story, and you tease me for it I...."

"Even if I did know the story I would probably laugh my head off either way." He smirked at me.

SLAP

His eyes went wide as his hand went to his check. "You know for once in your life you could be nice." Tears were starting to form in my eyes. I held them back. "You know this could be very painful for me, I didn't do it on purpose and you're being an ass. I turned around and stomped off to my room, slamming the door hard. I flopped on the bed and grabbed my pillow and cried into it. I could hear Sano banging on the door and apologizing to me, but I ignored him, after all a jerk will always be a jerk.

After awhile I let go of the pillow and propped my elbows on the bed and laid my head in my hands. That's how I usually think this time the thoughts weren't happy ones.

I was thinking about the jar I broke. The person who had given it to me relates to the picture. Both are breathtaking and beautiful. Both are calm and peaceful. How I miss my tall dark man.

A knock on my door brings me out of my thoughts. "Yes," I call sadly.

"Misao please come out." I hear Kaoru shout through the wooden door.

"Alright hold on." I stand and stretch my muscles, lying on a bed for an hour like that isn't healthy. I go to the door, unlock it and open it, just to have Kaoru fall in and hug me. "What is wrong with you Kaoru?" I ask as she stops hugging me.

I walk past her to the living room, and see Sano sitting on the couch staring at a blank TV screen. "You know rooster head, it helps if you turn the TV on before you go to watch it.

He nearly jumped off the couch, and then looked back at me. "You finally stopped crying over that dumb jar I take it." He must have been completely shocked at my next move cause he sat there unmoving. I launched my self at him, my fist landing right in his stomach.

He tried to shove me off of him as I continued you to punch him. I landed a very painful punch to his shoulder, and he cried out as he roughly shoved my small form from his lap, which was a mistake cause I was going to give him one more punch, which landed on the underside of his chin. His hand whipped to his mouth as he glared daggers at me. I landed with a thud on the floor. I slowly stood and turned to Kaoru who was stifling her laughs.

Sano stood and glared at me once more. He walked to his room and slammed the door hard, making the pictures on the wall rattle.

"I don't think that was smart." Kaoru said in a warning tone. I closed my eyes to keep the tears back.

"It may not have been but he had no right to say that about my jar." I slumped my shoulders and turned towards her.

"Oh the Unicorn jar?" Kaoru asked.

"Yeah, I decided it needed to be cleaned. I got it off my collectable shelf and placed it in the soapy water. I got a towel and washed the outside off then stuck my hand in side and well I couldn't get it out. I had to break the jar.

"I'm sorry Misao. Hey how about you come with me and Kenshin to the festival tonight?" Kaoru smiled at me, and I saw a glint in her eyes, uh oh she's planning something. "I wont take no for an answer." She smirked at me now and I knew I was in trouble.

Two hours, 35 outfits, 5 make up tries, and 20 pairs of shoes later. I stood outside the Akebeko waiting for Kenshin. Kaoru was smiling at me. I had a dark deep forest green dress on, that went to mid thighs. It had one shoulder strap on my right shoulder. The other one had a strap that went around my left arm. I had a gold chain around my neck, which twisted. The earrings were a light green color. I also had a pair of shoes I could hardly walk in, how can anyone walk in three-inch heels. I ask my self, as mine are only two.

"Kenshin!" Kaoru called as she waved to him.

"Kaoru," He waved and called back. Kaoru waited for him to walk up then they kissed; I pulled my head away, and looked at the stars.

I turned back when I knew they were finished. My heart stopped in my chest, next to Kenshin stood a dark tall handsome man. He had dark hair, was muscular, and his eyes were to die for.

"This is Misao, Misao this is Aoshi."

"Hello Aoshi." I heard myself say with out thinking. His eyes locked with mine, and I was drowned in their light depths. I caught myself staring and turned my head, my cheeks flushed.

"Nice to meet you as well Misao." I quickly turned my head and stared at him wide eyed. He rose an eyebrow at me.

"Sorry, its just you have a very deep voice." I waved my hand at him and then caught myself and looked away again. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment

"Well are we going in or are we going to stand out here all night?" Kaoru huffed at us and then grabbed Kenshin's arm. They walked in, and I stood there watching them, I started slowly in, and I felt someone looking at me. I stopped and turned my head in every direction trying to figure out who was watching me.

I could see no one who would look at me. No everyone on this street seemed to have a sweetheart today. I slumped my shoulders and started walking in. `This day is never much fun for me, too many couples happily in love to care about people around them.'

I shivered a little, as the wind seemed to pick up.

I almost jumped out of my skin as I felt a hand around my shoulders. I looked up and Aoshi was looking straight ahead. I smiled and we walked into the Akebeko.

After dinner Kaoru and Kenshin walked hand in hand. Aoshi and I stood three feet apart and walked in a silence. During dinner Kaoru had made us sit next to each other. I didn't mind after all who would mind sitting next to delicious looking eye candy. Unfortunately he is the silent type; he never once laughed, smirked, smiled, or even looked amused. The only thing he said during the evening was to ask the waitress for more tea.

Kaoru and Kenshin sat close to each other, Kenshin making her laugh. I sat in my seat wanting to lean my hands on the table. I had thought that Aoshi might be a nice person, but no matter how many times I tried to make him laugh, or talk he seemed to ignore me.

Now we walked in silence, I looked at the stars, as he looked around. I could tell he hardly came to this city with the way his head keep moving. I sighed audibly.

"Something wrong?" Aoshi's voice spoke into the quiet night air.

I turned my head to look at him, "No, its just valentines day isn't my favorite day." I turned to look at the stars again.

"We haven't talked much," He stated shortly.

"No we haven't, but then again I didn't try hard, and you didn't seem to either." I quickly covered my mouth and glanced at him. No one was there. I stopped in my tracks and I looked back to see Aoshi staring at me. My hand still covered my mouth. "I'm sorry," I whispered. He started Chuckling.

I stared at him, "What's so funny?"

"You." He smirked at me and then walked up to me and silence fell over us once again. We started walking faster to catch up to Kaoru and Kenshin. We had to stop as a hoard of kids ran in front of us.

By the time they passed by we couldn't see Kenshin or Kaoru anymore. I sighed again, getting a side ways glance from Aoshi.

Well its later than valentines I know, but I wanted to write this anyway. Hope you, liked it I know what I am going to do for the next chapter, its a thought from a song I heard.
