Sailor Moon Fan Fiction / Fan Fiction ❯ The Lost Age ❯ Present and Twists ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Hey Everyone. Sorry it's taking me so long to write this story. I hope that you enjoy it though. It's taking a lot of thought and work, so you better enjoy it. If you don't like, just don't read. Well, on with the story.

~*~ Last Time ~*~

I went home around four in the morning, and I woke to the call about Mamoru.

~*~ This time ~*~

When I first had woken that morning, my instincts told me that it was just a horrible nightmare, but I pushed the entire thought pattern out of my head while I went to take care of the incessant ringing coming from the phone. When I picked it up, all of my hopes for it being a dream were dashed on the rocks of reality. It was a policeman telling me that Mamoru had died the previous night in a motorcycle accident.

I was able to stay calm throughout the phone conversation, but as soon as it was over, I collapsed in tears. Not only had my innocence been stolen the previous night, but so had Mamoru's life. There was no way to bring it back because he died in such an accident. If the robbers had killed him, then the crystal would have brought him back because he would have died protecting me, but since it was something that was just an accident on both sides with nothing apparently to do with me, then there was no way for the crystal to bring him back. He was gone forever. Forever, wasn't that the promise he made to me? There was no way for him to keep it now.

~*~ Third person POV ~*~

At that moment, someone decided it was time to comfort the lost princess. They knew that the princess wouldn't take this lightly, and they had to do something. A purple portal appeared directly behind the crying girl on the bed, and a woman stepped out wearing a sailor senshi outfit. She had long green hair, purple eyes, and a staff that looked somewhat like a key that marked her as the guardian of time.

Usagi knew she was there and decided to ignore her. She didn't want to deal with this right now. She had more important things to think about than the senshi of time telling her that the timeline has been destroyed. Pluto, however, had come with some different news.

"Usagi," Pluto said, "I know that this isn't a good time, but I need to talk to you about another world's safety."

This surprised Usagi in two ways. Pluto didn't refer to her as a princess, but as a person, and she didn't come to talk about the messed up timeline. Usagi sat up and said, "What's wrong?"

"There is another world that is in dire need," Pluto started. "I know that it won't seem like it at first when you get there, but it really is. You aren't going to be taking care of evil, and therefore won't need the assistance of more that two senshi. One of the Inner senshi and one of the Outer senshi must go with you. They will be going more, as representatives will, so you must choose the one that will be best suited as both royalty and protective. I know that it will be a hard choice, but you must leave by tomorrow evening. I will leave you to think on it while I speak with the senshi."

Pluto left before Usagi could say anything. She knew that she had to choose the two senshi that would go with her on this trip, but how in the world was she supposed to pick. It's like picking your best friend out of a group when you consider them all your best friends.

While Usagi was thinking about this, Pluto went to the senshi meeting that she had already prearranged to talk about this. Everyone was there and she was able to talk to them freely. "Good morning everyone," Pluto said. "Since everyone is here, we can get started."

"Wait," Minako said, "Usagi-chan isn't here yet."

"Yeah," Rei put in "Odango Atama is late again."

"She won't be joining this meeting," Setsuna's comment caused everyone to stare at her. The leader of both groups wouldn't be joining them. "This meeting's information has already been given to her, but she has some things to deal with that won't allow her to come to this meeting. Now, to get started. Last night, muggers attacked Usagi and Mamoru; Mamoru was hit by a motorcycle and died on impact. Usagi was…taken advantage of." At this point, Setsuna tried to think of other ways to say it. Everyone gasped. They weren't sure why the crystal didn't contact them like it had every other time that she was in trouble. "Usagi has agreed to go help another world, and hopefully, this world will help her. She must take with her one Inner senshi and one outer senshi. That is what she's trying to decide right now. If you do not go with her, you will join her later; these are only until I can arrange for all of us to join her. Well, I think that covers everything. Any questions?"

"Do you know who she is going to pick?" Minako asked serious for the first time ever.

"Yes, I do, but no, I will not tell you who it is. I'm sorry, but she must tell you," Setsuna told them. "Anymore questions?"

"What about those of us who stay, how long before we will join her?" Ami voiced everyone's thoughts out loud.

"You will have to wait one month before I can arrange everything for you to join the princess," Setsuna said to everyone more than just Ami.

Everyone sat there in silence and finally, Setsuna said, "Since there are no more questions, everyone should go ahead and go home and relax for the rest of the day. Tomorrow will be a long day for every one of us. Good bye." With that, Setsuna disappeared into a black and purple swirl.

They all separated and went to their own homes. However, none of them were able to fall asleep due to the fact that they were all busy thinking about tomorrow. The next day, Usagi called them all to Rei's temple to talk to them. When everyone got there, they were surprised to find Usagi already there. Rei told them later that Usagi had been the one to wake her up.

"Good morning," Usagi said in her normal cheerful voice. There was something wrong though, and they all knew it.

"Good morning," they greeted in due turn.

Once everyone was inside, Usagi's usual smile faded into a normal frown that they figured they would have to see on her face. When everyone was sitting down, she began, "Pluto said that she was going to fill you in and that I only had to tell my choice, is this correct? Not that I doubted Pluto, but I need to know that we are speaking on the same level." At everyone's affirmative, she continued. "I was unable to pick the two that I would most want to come with me because I want all of you to be able to, so I'm going by rank in the Silver Millennium. Therefore, Venus and Uranus will accompany me."

Everyone nodded her approval. They were all wishing that they had been the ones chosen, but they understood that Usagi just couldn't choose so she went by the easiest common denominator between them all. Then it was settled. Minako and Uranus went to pack while Usagi, who had packed the previous day, said goodbye to the rest of the senshi. The senshi spent the entire day together when Minako and Haruka had finished packing.

That evening, they were all gathered in a park to say the last goodbye to Usagi before they would see her again. Pluto appeared and said, "It's time to go now."

Usagi, Minako and Haruka all nodded saying that they understood. Usagi gave everyone one last hug while Haruka said goodbye to Michiru and Minako said goodbye to Artimas.

They all walked through the portal while waving a last goodbye to everyone who was left. As they walked through the portal, darkness took each of them into unconsciousness.

Haruka was the first person to wake up and notice that they were in the other world that Pluto had told them about. She looked around and noticed that she was in a room that seemed to be open to the outside world and yet closed to it also. When she looked around, however, she found that the others were not with her. She immediately stood up and realized another thing. She was in her princess form from the Silver Alliance. As she walked out of the door, she realized that there were a few people walking around. One was standing at her door, and when she walked out, he stood and stared at her awed for some strange reason.

She merely growled and said, "Where are the other two that were with me?"

He looked at her confused for a moment before saying, "The one with longer hair is in there," he pointed towards the room that was across from Haruka, "and the other is down the hall on the left." He showed her the way. "Who are you?"

Haruka just ignored him and walked into the room that he said Usagi was in. The guard immediately went to report that one had gotten up. Haruka walked to the side of Usagi's bed where there was a chair. She checked Usagi's vitals, such as pulse, breathing, and temperature, and relaxed when she realized there was nothing immediately wrong with her. She sat down in the chair just as another man walked in followed by the guard.

Haruka stood protectively in front of Usagi and said, "Who are you?"

"I should ask you the same question since you and your two friends appeared in my palace," said the man seriously, but not threateningly.

"I am Tenoh Haruka, Princess of Uranus, representative and lead general of the Outer Senshi, and Protector of Serenity," she gave her entire title because she remembered that was how she was supposed to act. Setsuna had told them to act as their princess forms, and to trust the people that they met for there was no evil in the world yet.

Behind her, Usagi had awoken at the commotion and was sitting up. The two who were facing Haruka had seen this, but didn't let their eyes stray from Haruka. Both of them knew that the girl in front of them was protecting the one on the bed, her posture said that much. Usagi spoke, "Haruka, what in the world do you think you're doing?"

Haruka turned to Usagi startled just as Minako walked in the door. "Usagi!" Minako called to her friend turning the attention from the bed to the door. "I'm glad you're awake."

"Hey, Minako," Usagi smiled back at her before she turned her attention back to Haruka. "Now, what were you doing, Haruka?"

Haruka sighed, "My duty." Usagi sighed.

"Did I miss something?" Minako asked as she scratched her head.

Haruka turned back to the two strangers and said, "I've told you my name, what's yours?"

The one that came with the guard said, "My name is Elrond, Lord of Rivendale. May I ask the name of your companions?"

Usagi had just stood up. She realized for the first time that they were all wearing their princess dresses, and Usagi saw the mark of Venus on Minako, and the mark of Uranus on Haruka, she guessed that meant that the mark of the Moon was on her. She answered their question; "I am Tsukino Serenity, also known as Usagi, Princess and heir of the Silver Alliance."

Minako also answered, "I am Aino Minako, princess of Venus, head general and representative of the Inner Senshi, head guard of Princess Serenity." Minako played her part as the head guard of Serenity easily.

"It's nice to meet you," Elrond said to them all at the same time. Minako had walked over to stand beside Usagi just before they introduced themselves. "Now, may I ask why you appeared in my courtyard unconscious?"

Usagi smiled and said, "It really is a long story as to why, some of which, I don't know, so maybe it could wait until later?"

Elrond nodded in understanding. Apparently, they were tired and probably hungry. He smiled and said, "Dinner will be in an hour, would you care to join us?"

Usagi gave a smile and said, "We would be delighted." She answered before Minako could start jumping for joy at food, or before Haruka could give her automatic denial that she was known for. Elrond nodded respectfully as did Usagi, and he left the room followed by the guard.

Usagi sighed and fell into the chair. "That was hard," she murmured under her breath, but Haruka and Minako both heard it.

"What was hard?" Minako questioned. Haruka just glared at her and Usagi looked up at her surprised that Minako had heard her statement.

Usagi gave a sigh and said, "Facing him was hard."

Minako couldn't help herself, "Why?"

"Minako! Don't be so rude!" Haruka was really getting annoyed. She wanted to know the answers, but it was best to give Usagi time to get used to whatever was wrong before pestering her.

Minako just glared at her, but Usagi interrupted them saying, "Because he possesses Mamoru's soul."

Minako and Haruka gasped and stared at Usagi in shock.
