Sailor Moon Fan Fiction / InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A Friend in Need ❯ Chapter 1
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
This is something that was stuck in my notebook and every time I turned to that page, it haunted me! So, I hope you all enjoy it! And the warning; This is a (young) Serenity/Kohaku. O_o Trust me, I know it's odd, but hey
This is set before the gang meets Naraku in person... or is it in demon? *ponders*
(Serenity's POV)
I gape and my friends giggle behind me, oblivious to my mouth that has nearly dropped to the black and white marble floor. This is our guest? She is dressed so-so protectively . Didn't Mother say she was here to visit? But, that is not why I'm gaping. Despite the unyielding and grave look on her faces, she doesn't seem to have a deep history as said. She obviously has had a loss, either material or dearly loved.
Suddenly someone says something, I assume Mother, and my friends direct me out of the room.
"What's going on in there?" I ask.
They grin ridiculously and their shoulders rise high up, as though they don't know. My arms fold over my chest and I stomp over to the closed doors, pressing my ear against the door, despite my friends' whispered protests. I can't make out every word said, but I do hear my name.
"Serenity..away many, many times..realm.. Naraku."
That's all I can make out. But, what would I have to do with our guest? And just who is Naraku? I hate it when people talk behind my back!
And it's about ME!
Tired of being so lost and untold, I tread heavily to my room. My only place of peace. "Serenity! Where are you going?" "Wait for us!" I grinned bitterly. Not until I'm told will I do anything! It may be a little dramatized, but hey! So, what? Plopping down on my bed, I see a very strange sight. Someone, obviously linked with our guest, is walking around aimlessly. Or so I see it.
Brushing it off, I sigh and close my eyes. Before I know it, I've fallen asleep.
Suddenly, I'm snatched off my bed and the sound of a furious wind brushes my ear. My window I open! It suddenly registers to me; I'm being kidnapped! Remembering something before, I dare struggle. Who knows what weapon my kidnapper might carry! As the coldness hits my skin, I tremble in a shiver fit and snuggle into the warm chest, despite my current status.
*sigh*So warm and inviting
That is until I've nearly hit the ground. And I do hit it too. *thud* I guess I must have hit the ground so hard, that a blinding, or so I think, blast shots out from my crescent precursor and through a few trees. I timidly open my eyes and noticed something.
I was alone. On my own. Solitary
Or so I thought.
I was suddenly, snatched up and soon felt that I was sitting on a soft fur ball. A very big soft fur ball. I slowly and fearfully look down and gasp. These aren't the gardens! I'm nowhere NEAR the palace! I shut my eyes tightly and hold onto my ride tensely. I fear this might be the last time I see a living thing! But, before I lose all hope, I feel a slight thump and look around. Nothing but trees. I soon become anxious; I'm being watched! By. a person in a baboon pelt? And the same boy I saw earlier that's linked to our guest! Suddenly, sharp roots begin to pour from the baboon pelt and take hold of me.
Not enough to kill. But, enough so that I can't escape. Blackness overwhelmed me and I fall into a short sleep.
~Darkness~
Naraku laughed of his preparation. "Both the Shikon Jewel and the Silver Crystal will be mine." He grinned evilly, yet bitterly, "But, that light will just have to be dimmed." Suddenly, his grin widened, "What foolishness."
~Elsewhere~
(Serenity POV)
(Serenity POV)
*shiver* It's so cold here; in this darkness. I can't see anything nor can I feel anything. I trace circles on the invisible floor and stare into the shadows.
I wonder if Mother even knows I'm gone. Does Mars-Hime? Venus-Hime? Mercury-Hime? Jupiter-Hime? Do they even miss me?
*footsteps* I wonder who would be wandering in the shadows. *silence* I know someone's there. They couldn't have just disappeared! That's unattainable!
It's that boy I saw! What's he doing? What's that in his hand? *panicky* *ear-pricking scream*
(Original POV)
A sightless light filled the black blankness and silence insured as Kohaku began to glow an eerie light purple. Serenity backed away as she watched the light dim and watched Kohaku fall to the floor.
"Oh! Are you alright?" Serenity constantly repeated, shaking Kohaku and staring at his blank face.
She continued her shaking as time passed on in the darkness and she constantly swore she heard voices.
~Forest~
A raven girl frowned, "Inuyasha! Get down from there! I'll say it!"
A pale-haired half demon snorted and shifted slightly in his near-sleep, "Whatever."
The raven growled, "SIT!"
Within seconds the half demon, Inuyasha, had been slammed to the ground. Another raven and a monk shook their heads.
"What the fuck was that for? Kagome!" Inuyasha snarled.
Kagome turned around sharply, "I sense some jewel shards over there! A lot of them!"
"About how many?" Inuyasha asked.
"She did say a lot, didn't she? I think that means more than five, Inuyasha!" A small fox demon pointed out.
"Shut up, runt!"
"Shippo has a point, Inuyasha." The monk, Miroku, added.
"Where did Kagome go?" The other raven, Sango, asked, looking around and in the bushes.
"See! It's Inuyasha's fault we lost Kagome!" Shippo cried, bashing Inuyasha on the head.
"Runt!" Inuyasha growled angerly, chasing after the running Shippo.
"I guess we're the only sensable persons on this journey. Don't you agree, Sango?" Miroku asked, starting after them.
Sango, not to far behind, replied in the same tone, "I agree, Miroku. I agree."
~Kagome~
Kagome grimanced; What was that sound? It sounded like.. like someone calling for help. It was straight ahead and had Inuyasha been up here, they would already be up there.
"Kagome! Save me!" Shippo cried, jumping on Kagome's shoulder.
"Inuyasha, sit! And don't chase Shippo around anymore."
"Shit..." Inuyasha muttered before plumiting to the dirt ground.
She continued forward towards where she sensed the jewel shards.
"Wait, Kagome. I sense a worse than evil presence ahead." Miroku called.
A blur of white and red flashed by, creating a strong wind, making Kagome have to hold down her skirt.
"Inuyasha! Wait for us!" Sango called as they ran after him.
~Serenity~
Serenity stared as the boy stirred, opening his eyes. Serenity frowned slightly. Why were his eyes flashing from dull to vibrant over and over?
She ignored her fright and helped him sit up before she asked, "Are you alright?"
A slight blush fell on her face as his eyes fixed on her.
"Where am I?" He asked.
Serenity shruged as she hugged her knees, "I don't know. I was expecting you to know."
She shivered as she felt a cold, empty presence swish by.
"Who are you?" Serenity asked, looking over at him.
"My name is Kohaku. What's yours?"
"Serenity."
"How did you get here?"
"I don't really know. All I remember was being kidnapped and knocked out. You must not know how you got here either, do you?"
Kohaku shook his head and sighed, "It's so cold in here. Aren't you freezing?"
Serenity nodded and scooted closer to Kohaku, blushing smally.
I don't feel so frightened anymore. I've made a friend. A cute friend too. Just glad I'm not alone anymore!
~Inuyasha~
Inuyasha stared, his sword over his shoulder, and eyes wide. This castle was too dark and cold and empty... The perfect place to find a shard of the Shikon Jewel!
Kagome appeared at his side, panting from so much running. "Inuyasha! You didn't have to leave us... like.. that." Her voice trailed off as she noticed why Inuyasha wasn't listening to her.
"Where are we?" She murmured, staring at the darkness sourrouding them.
"You're near my castle." An empty voice called.
"Who are you? Where are you? Show yourself!?" Inuyasha called.
A sudden force began to push Inuyasha back as a Baboon pelt appeared from the forests, continuing to push Inuyasha back. Inuyasha tried to push back, but wouln't budge against the strong force that suddenly threw him back.
"You must be Naraku! How nice to finally meet you."
The force pushed against Inuyasha again, stronger this time. As Inuyasha struggled, Naraku's smirk wasn't visible to Inuyasha's eyes. The force suddenly pushed against Inuyasha and threw him back into one of the walls.
Screams, one drowning out the other, erupted from behind the wall. Everyone, minus Naraku, looked towards the dust cloud. Sango gasped and was the first one to run over there, "Kohaku!!"
Naraku took this chance and attacked Inuyasha, who barely blocked the attack, cutting the baboon pelt to shreds. Naraku's long black tresses flowed in the 'wind' as his blood red eyes fixed on Inuyasha. Dark winds built up around Naraku and the soon died down; Naraku had disappeared.
Kagome had rushed over to where Sango continued to hug Kohaku, ignoring the young girl who sat there alone. Kagome sat down near her.
"Are you alright?" She asked, receiving a reasurring nod, "Who are you?"
The girl's deep blue eyes sparkled in fright as she replied, "Serenity."
~Later~
"I don't know how I can thank you. It's been two days since I've seen her and I was worried sick. Again, I don't know how I could thank you." Queen Serenity continued thanking Sango, Kagome, Miroku, and Inuyasha- who sat up in a tree.
Serenity sighed as she watched her mother conversate. She really wanted to go home.
"What are you sighing for?" Serenity smiled at Kohaku.
"I just want to go home."
"You're lucky; I have to get used to someone I barely remember." Kohaku replied, sitting down next to Serenity.
Serenity's smile grew and she reached up, kissing Kohaku softly. A blush crept up Kohaku's face, but Serenity's blush was more visible and bright.
"You're one of my best friends, Kohaku." She whispered.
"Thanks." Kohaku replied, smiling.

*smile* I'm so happy I got that off my chest. I've been meaning to write it. But, yeah. So, hope you liked it! Reveiw please! Flames will be used to light up the camm fire Kohaku will be looking at when he thinks of Usagi and vice versa.
