Chapter 14 Psychological Battle

Theme: Headstrong by. Trapt

Clothes: Kagome with her school fuku (uniform) her old on short skirt using for band. Then for in her time just roaming a dark blue black mid drift t-shirt short sleeve with “If you want some to behave get a dog” just like her brother's fav shirts with the kid and dog collar, with an all green army jacket thick with many pockets and a peasant skirt (you know those ones that are like cut in sections and are like 4 sections long they look like something a gypsy would wear) with a pair of combat boots to top of the look, then also her feudal era clothes with a tight insolated long sleeve shirt and insolated tights in the same color red as the flower design that is on it for the feudal era. InuYasha his uniform that Mrs. H bought him using for the band, then his fav out fit for Kagome's era loose fitting jeans and a red t-shirt with a mean looking bulldog on it with a black spiked collar on the dog and it says “Don't mess with me, I bite!” then his fire rat robes for feudal era. Souta his fav t-shirt long sleeve this time but it says, “If you want some to behave get a dog” and it has the kid with the spike dog collar with a pair of jeans. The usual clothes for everyone else.

A/N: My name is Kimi so when you see one of these with the author talking with the chars of the story and you see Kimi that's me.

Shut up already: Kagome and InuYasha yelled

Inu: Sorry *Ran and hid behind Kagome*

 

Kags: Alright we'll be good. *Said waving her hands in front of her in defense*

 

Kimi: Like I believe you I created you to be a bad boy and girl.

 

Kags: But being you created this version of us you can make us do what you want right?

 

Kimi: That's right alright enough outta me time to get on with the story and I got a fitting punishment for these two. *Smiles evilly*

 

*Both Kagome and InuYasha run from the room in fear*

 

 

Chapter 14 Psychological Battle

 

The day started out like any other in the feudal era they packed up and were heading out in search of the jewel shards. Shippou had pissed InuYasha off by making a smart ass comment at something he did and InuYasha had popped Shippou in the head.

 

“InuYasha what have I told you?” Kagome questioned him anger evident in her voice.

 

“Well he started it saying that line about me being stupid.” InuYasha defended himself weakly.

 

“Well you don't have to hit him he's just a kid he's younger then us.” Kagome retaliated hands in fists at her side she was pissed.

 

“What the hell are you talking about he's full blood he's older then us by a long shot.” He shot back thinking his comeback was real good.

 

“Well excuse me I don't know everything about being youkai I only just found out this past year.” Kagome shouted she was beyond pissed and he knew it.

 

(Oh yeah incase you're wondering which I know you are in this story hanyous age like normal humans until they hit adult maturity then they stay the same age until well uh that's not really gonna be established in this story so who cares.)

 

“It's not like you would know bitch.” InuYasha was running out of comebacks so he resorted to his ever-popular name-calling.

 

“Oh no dude you don't call me a bitch when I'm piss off, I'm a Lynx and I don't take that shit when I'm pissed off, especially from dog. So why don't you say hello to your friend the dirt and eat it. SIT!!!!!!!!!!” Kagome yelled tired of arguing over something so stupid.

 

InuYasha just made loud grumbling sounds into the dirt being he couldn't move.

 

“I tired of this why do you have to start up arguments for no reason?” Kagome asked kneeling down next to InuYasha as the spell wore off enough for him to pick up his head and spit out the dirt.

 

“Because you're really cute when you really get pissed off at me for stuff like that.” InuYasha stated smoothly with a smirk.

 

“Why you.” Kagome went to give him a good punch in the back but the spell had completely work of and he grabbed her wrist.

 

He then pulled her down under him felling the ice cold ground on her back she shivered. (Forgot to tell you it's winter yeah and in the feudal era Kagome just wears that happi she bought earlier that year with her brother in this time she just puts on the insolated shirt and tights.) She then pushed him up off her cause Shippou was still there along with Miroku and Sango they had all come to greet their return.

 

“Shall we get moving?” Asked Sango holding a kitsune with a big lump on his head and a small fire cat on her shoulders.

 

“Yes let's head out now before anything else keeps us here.” InuYasha stated getting up and helping Kagome up.

 

 

They all headed out headed in search of more shards. They walked till around mid afternoon they were somewhere in the southern lands when they came across a village that looked like it had been attacked. They entered the village seeing some sort of slim on everything and asked the villagers some questions about what happened. They found out it was a giant slug demon that had been terrorizing the village for some time.

 

“Oh yes there you are you must be the travelers?” This man questioned he was in fairly nice clothing and was an older man.

 

“Yes we are may we ask who you might be?” Miroku asked in his polite manner.

 

“I am the village headman. I take from your appearances that you are warriors of some sort am I right?” The village headman asked.

 

“Yes we are.” Miroku continued.

 

“Well though I would hate to ask this of you…”The headman was cut off by InuYasha.

 

“Then don't.” Was all that InuYasha said annoyed.

 

“InuYasha!” Kagome hissed loudly at him sounding just like a cat. (What a surprise.)

 

“Would you like us to take care of your demon problems?” Sango piped up asking that headman.

 

“Yes if you would not mind we would be eternally grateful.” The headman stated.

 

“Hey it's better then wasting all are free time.” Kagome joked.

 

“What you don't like spending time with me?” InuYasha joked also.

 

“Ok, You two stop it.” Sango said with a smile.

 

“Alright we'll take the job.” Miroku stated to the headman.

 

“Thank you very much, we can't offer much but the inn was not damaged so we could offer a free night and meals.” The headman stated.

 

“Thank you but you don't have to.” Kagome argued polity.

 

“No it is the least we can do for you troubles.” The headman insisted.

 

“Alright then we'll see what we can find out.” Sango said.

 

They wandered out of the village in search of the giant slug. They followed a trail of slim into the forest. They then came upon the slug itself the thing had to be the length of a football field and like two stories high. Yeah the thing was fat probably from eating it's weight in like everything it could swallow.

 

“Uh I think we found it.” Kagome mused.

 

“Yeah now what do we do with it?” Sango asked.

 

The thing couldn't seem to go anywhere.

 

“Well it can seem to move and if we leave it and it sheds a few pounds it'll go back to terrorizing the village.” Miroku concluded.

 

“Hold it, there is a…. I think a jewel shard but it's got the weirdest aura surrounding it like it's coated with something.” Kagome stated as she pointed to the slugs back to indicate to area where the shard was located.

 

“Alright then we gotta cut it out.” InuYasha said jumping up and readying his claws for some slicing.

 

The thing then lashed out at a surprisingly fast pace and knocked InuYasha away. InuYasha's back struck a tree breaking the tree but not his back as he then hit the forest floor.

 

“InuYasha! Are you alright?” Kagome was shocked and in a slight panic you could only tell she was from her voice though.

 

“Yeah, damn it.” InuYasha growled low from anger.

 

He didn't want to give up so he attacked it again with his sword this time. Though the sword didn't do a damn thing. Sango and Miroku then double-teamed the thing, Sango whipping her hirikotsu at it and Miroku throwing his sutras. But that didn't work either.

 

“Hmmm…” Kagome was thinking to her self she new if their attacks couldn't hurt it hers couldn't do a damn thing either.

 

“Kagome look out!” InuYasha dove at Kagome fast pushing both of them out of the way of the things tail. (That's if you could call it a tail.)

 

They both skidded across the forest floor to a stop.

 

“Thanks Inu.” Kagome said as she sat up after InuYasha.

 

“What were you doing spacing out at a time like this?” InuYasha questioned.

 

“Sorry I was remembering something I learned in science class, a slug burns when salt touches it.” Kagome stated.

 

“Where are we gonna find that much salt?” InuYasha questioned.

 

“Hey we're not that far from the eastern shores, the ocean is perfect.” Kagome exclaimed.

 

“Alright we just have to lead it there.” Sango called she then hopped on a transformed Kirara with Miroku and Shippou as Kirara proceeded to but the slug.

 

“Yeah!” Kagome said as she and InuYasha began to harass it too.

 

They all moved quickly through the forest headed for the ocean. When they were all engulfed in darkness and you couldn't even see your hand in front of your face.

 

 

Sango walked forward she was no longer riding upon Kirara and was walking. As she walked forward she began to see a pale blue light. As she approached the light she heard he unmistakable blood curdling cries that her comrades had made the last day she ever saw them. She began to run forward till she pasted into the pale light and saw the day she tried so hard to forget. The day her comrades, father, and brother die. She saw the fight that raged between herself, her comrades and the centipede demon they were slaying for this lord. She just stood there and watched the agonizing scene again. The unbearable pain washing over her again, she just couldn't turn away as tears rolled down her face.

 

The scene then switched to her returning to her village finding it completely destroyed everyone dead. She walked through the village just as she did that day finding no traces of life. She also searched for her grandfather but found nothing either there was nothing left of his body or he wasn't there. The only thing she did at this point was fall to her knees and cry she just couldn't stop reliving it all over again.

 

 

Miroku wandered around in the darkness coming upon the same pale blue light. He passed through it to find himself as a little boy watching as his father was swallowed up by his father's own wind tunnel. He stood there and watched as Mushin held him back.

 

The scene then shifted on him to himself with his new friends them walking and then out of nowhere his wind tunnel starts pulling him and his friends in. He watched in horror as one by one they were sucked away. First Shippou, then Kagome and InuYasha then a pregnant Sango. He could do nothing to stop this and he watched as it sucked up everything.

 

 

InuYasha tried sniffing around in this darkness but he couldn't find any scents. He then saw the pale light and went to it. Passing through it he turned in to a little boy and saw his mother again. He ran to her giving her a hug and embracing her as tight as he could as though she could disappear at any second. Then he was pushed away by a dirty looking man obviously a bandit. The bandit grabbed his mother tied her up and then him. He lay on the floor listening to the most horrid noises. His mother was shrieking in pain, there were grunts and groaning coming from the bandit, and there was a slapping noise. He cried knowing he could do nothing about what was happening to his mother. Then after awhile it went silent then there was a heart wrenching scream coming from his mother then all fell silent. Though he was a little boy his senses were strong enough he could tell the bandit left for some reason. So he wriggled out of his binds and removed the blindfold the bandit had put on him. Only to find his mother in a bloody heap on the floor he then began crying harder then before.

 

The scene then shifted and changed to InuYasha standing in the forest. He saw Kikyo standing before him.

 

“What Kikyo what are you doing here?” He questioned.

 

“What do you mean you came to me?” She asked stepping forward.

 

“No I didn't how…” InuYasha trailed off losing his ability to speak.

 

He then tried moving but couldn't do that either. Kikyo closed in on him wrapping her arms around him holding him tight.

 

“You're coming to hell with me now.” Was all Kikyo said before the wind began to pick up and swirl around them.

 

`No, this can't be happening I don't want it to.' InuYasha panicked in his head.

 

They began sinking into the ground very slowly.

 

“No I don't want this I want to stay. I want to stay with everyone here. No I want Kagome!!!!!!!!' He shouted in his head.

 

 

Kagome walked through the darkness and into the pale blue light. She saw the day her father died she was walking with her father. They were headed back to the shrine after a father daughter night out Kagome was again twelve years old. Holding her fathers hand as they walked she was always close to him. Out of nowhere this guy jumped out in front of them just in front of the shrine steps. Her father moved her behind him and took a fighting stance. He had long black hair with crimson eyes.

 

“I thought you were dead?” Her father questioned.

 

“I don't die that easily.” The strange man said.

 

“Kagome run!” Her father yelled pushing the man back into the wall pinning him there.

 

“Ah ah.” The man said in an evil sweet voice running Kagome's father through the heart with a hidden blade.

 

He then turned to Kagome and lunged at her but was thrown back by an invisible force. Kagome ran to her father ignoring the Man who just stabbed her father. Kagome picked her father head up and laid it on her lap.

 

“No, daddy please don't die.” Kagome cried begging her father to stay with her.

 

“I'm sorry my little girl, be brave and believe in love.” Was all her father said before life left his body.

 

“NO DADDY!!!!!!!” Cried out loudly tears now falling hard from her eyes she clutched her father's lifeless body close to her as she cried.

 

(Though as you all know Kagome's demon blood was sealed then.) Kagome stood from her father's body looking at the ground and stepping toward the man that killed him.

 

“You… you BASTARD you killed my father I'll never forgive you!!!!!” Kagome lifted her head by the end and was yelling she then charged her father`s killer going into a blind rage.

 

All Kagome knew was she wanted this bastard dead though she was smaller then him and knew see could never win. She didn't care she wanted him dead at this moment. Though just when she was about to strike him he vanished and she tripped and fell.

 

When she got up she was no longer on the sidewalk she was in the forest and some one was headed for her very fast. She was now at her present age she stood there and readied herself for anything. But she wasn't ready for this InuYasha came out of the trees and claws ready to attack her. He jumped at her and swiped with his claws. She dodged and grabbed his wrists.

 

“InuYasha why are you doing this?” Kagome questioned holding his wrists tightly.

 

“Because I hate you.” Was all he said in a hateful pissed off voice.

 

“Why what did I do to make you hate me?” Kagome asked as he struggled to keep hold of his wrists but he was to strong.

 

He flung her into a tree and she slid to the forest floor back against the tree sitting up straight.

 

“I hate you because if you were never born Kikyo could have come back.” He said slowly stepping toward Kagome's unmoving body.

 

“You really feel that way, but we're mates we're bound for life?” Kagome questioned.

 

“You're just a replacement for Kikyo.” He said this readying his claws again.

 

“If this'll make you happy then go ahead and kill me.” Kagome said new tears falling from her eyes.

 

“Gladly.” He slowly moved in for the kill.

 

`No I want Kagome!!!!!!!!' Kagome heard InuYasha's voice in her head and she new it was real seeing for a brief few second through his eyes.

She new something was totally off.

 

“You're not InuYasha he would never say those things.” Kagome said low but loud enough for the fake to hear.

 

“Yes I am.” The fake argued.

 

“No…you're….NOT!!!!!!!!” Kagome said slow and calm then yelled the last word and throwing a strong energy blast at him filled with both her miko and demonic energy.

 

Her surroundings then shifted into what made her appear to be in a bubble, then shattered. Her falling and then landing on her feet and taking off into the forest.

 

“I have to find the others.” She said aloud to her self.

 

`Wait this'll get me nowhere have to concentrate.' She began to concentrate and zoned in on InuYasha first finding him to be captured by a fake Kikyo.

 

She proceeded to the spot in the forest where InuYasha was and found what appeared to be a small round pale blood red crystal. (For shape think the Shikon jewel.) She could see the battle he was losing rage inside the small jewel.

 

“I wonder how I can….” Kagome thought to herself out loud. “Bingo!” `Hey Inu can you hear me?' She asked trying to contact him using her mind.

 

`Kagome is that you where are you?' InuYasha asked.

 

`I'm watching you or what is being done to you with false pretences.' Kagome said calmly.

 

`Damn it woman what the hell are you talking about?!' InuYasha asked aggravated he didn't know what she was talking about.

 

`The bitch ain't real and what she do'n ain't real.' Kagome again said calmly.

 

`Well thanks for telling me but how am I gonna get outta here I can't move.' InuYasha was getting more and more aggravated by the minute.

 

`Do I have to do everything around here?' Kagome asked more to herself but InuYasha heard.

 

Kagome concentrated and reached her hand out touching the crystal InuYasha was in it got bigger and shattered. On the inside InuYasha notice the flux in the power the paralyzed him and watched as Kagome slowly became visible on the outside. He then fell to the ground on his knees.

 

“Come on we have to find Sango and Miroku.” Kagome stated as she just began to concentrate again.

 

She found Sango closer so she headed for Sango with InuYasha in toe. They came upon Sango's crystal it was a blue is color and they saw her sitting in what appeared to be a demolished village. Knees pulled to her chest as she cried into her kimono.

 

“Hey Inu go find Ku he's straight in that direction keep your eye peeled for a small crystal like this. When you do just keep an eye on him make sure nothing drastic is happening.” Kagome shooed InuYasha away toward Miroku then and set all her attention on Sango.

 

`Sango can you hear me please answer?' Kagome asked with her mind trying to reach Sango's.

 

`Huh? Who's there?' Sango questioned.

 

`It's me Kagome, Sango listen to me none of it is real you're trapped in a nightmare basically. Its just repeating tragic events.' Kagome explained.

 

`Huh? So it's similar to a bad dream I just have to wake myself up from it.' Sango told herself. “THIS ISN”T REAL!!!!!!” Sango shouted though she now new she could never forget the event here was no reason to torture herself with them.

 

The crystal then grew and it became transparent and then broke Sango landed on the ground in a low crouch then stood. Sango then stepped forward and gave her friend a strong hug.

 

`Kagome problem!' InuYasha called to Kagome with his mind.

 

`Huh? What's going on?' She asked him Kagome picked up Sango on her back, being she was wearing her slaying uniform it was a hell of a lot easier then her traveling clothes, and Kagome took off toward Miroku.

 

`He's trapped in one wear he's sucking up everyone with his wind tunnel and himself.' InuYasha explained.

 

“Shit that's not good!” Kagome shouted.

 

“What's wrong?” Sango asked.

 

“Somebody's future hubby is about to be dead.” Kagome said as she continued.

 

“What are you talking about?” Sango asked. (She is oblivious to Kagome and InuYasha being mates, then again everyone kinda is they didn't notice the change, and what Kagome keeps mentioning about Ku and him already having a wife lined up because of someone's grandfather.)

 

“Never mind what I said but Ku's in big trouble if we don't get him out soon he'll be dead.” Kagome said as she came upon InuYasha and Ku's gold like crystal.

They all stood around it and watched for a few second in utter horror as he pulled in a pregnant Sango. Kagome then did her concentration thing again.

 

`Ku hey can you hear me?' Kagome asked trying to reach him which proved a little harder then Inu or Sans.

 

`Huh Kagome I thought I sucked you up with my wind tunnel?' Ku questioned.

 

`No you didn't this is all fake it's like a bad dream.' Kagome explained quickly.

 

`How do I get out?' Ku asked.

 

`No time.' Was all Kagome said as she concentrated.

 

Ku's wind tunnel had swallowed Sango and was working on him. Kagome concentrated hard breaking the finale illusion jewel. Miroku fell to the ground and didn't move. Sango then knelt down near him and gave him a hug.

 

Then they all heard this menacing laugh. They all looked up and surveyed their surroundings.

 

“Ah I see you were able to break free of my illusions huh?” The voice asked it was obviously male.

 

Kagome gasped loudly as she recognized the voice.

 

“What is it?” InuYasha asked.

 

“It's the sick fuck that killed my father I'd never forget that sick twisted voice of his.” Kagome stated.

 

“Ah yes young Kagome you've grown into a luscious young woman.” The voice said.

 

“Don't you talk about her as if you know her.” InuYasha yelled.

 

“Ah yes but I do I know all of you.” The voice said.

 

“There is no way.” Miroku stated he obviously getting angry.

 

“Ah yes I do, Miroku I cursed you family with the wind tunnel, Sango I slaughtered yours, InuYasha I put you and that priestess of yours against each other but I was the one that gave her the wound that killed her. And young Kagome I knew you and your father as I stabbed the man through his heart right in front of your young twelve-year-old eyes.” The voice stated as he revealed himself to them in the clearing the had been standing in.

 

He was the same man Kagome remembered long black hair and menacing blood red eyes.

 

“You are the same bastard. I new then I wasn't strong enough but now I know I could kill you. And I'd do it in a heart beat.” Kagome stated eyes glazed over and anger definitely evident in her voice as she clenched her fist to her sides.

 

Now everyone was almost to the point of rage remembering his or her pasts wanting to kill the bastard. Then out of nowhere all at the same time everyone charged him weapons readied and in position to strike.

 

 

 

Kimi: Sorry everyone cliffy but this will be continued in the next chapter.

 

Kagome: Wow never new you could be so angsty.

 

InuYasha: Well why do you think her friends call her the Goddess of Angst?

 

Kagome: Oh shut up. * Kagome then bashed him on the back of the head with her fist. *

 

*InuYasha falls to the floor in pain.*

 

*Three others walk in the room.*

 

Rose: Hey when you gonna talk more about us in here?

 

Meda: Yeah I mean we do serve a great deal of importance.

 

Leo: Yeah how come you haven't talked much about us?

 

Kimi: That's because they aren't supposed to find out till much later in the story who ya'll really are get it. * Indicating to Kagome, InuYasha, Sango, Miroku, and the readers. *

 

Rose: Ah I get it.

 

Leo: Ok then ja.

 

Meda: See ya'll later then.

 

Kagome: What the hell are they talking about?

 

Kimi: Nothing, nothing at all. Ok say ja you two.

 

Kagome: Ja!

 

InuYasha: Feh. Ja.
