Author's note: this next part is broken up into three parts, but I still consider it to be one chapter. Also, this chapter is also a song fic set to the tune: "Crucify My Love" By X Japan. Well 3a is anyway. Prepare for some major Angst and some Humor.

One more little thing…Even though Usagi spent the night in Rosette's hotel Suite, she doesn't know about Neherenia and Helios yet.

Chapter 3a: Coming to America

<><><>

Two weeks later…

Usagi didn't hesitate in packing her bags for America. Yes she knew that Mamoru was going to college there, but he would be in Boston, Massachusetts while she is in Chicago Illinois so she wouldn't see him she reasoned with herself. As she packed away her clothes and personal belongings she glanced at Luna who in her own way was packing as well. "You know you don't have to come with me Luna." Usagi said softly as she folded up her old school uniforms and put them away.

Luna stopped what she was doing and looked at her young charge. "Now you know I can't do that Usagi chan. Who will watch out for you and make sure you do all of your homework?"

Usagi smiled and laughed softly closing and locking her last suitcase. "I know how much you'll miss Artemis and dislike Virgo so I won't get mad or anything if you want to stay with Ami or Minako."

Luna shook her head and hopped up into Usagi's arms. "I know this is hard for you, so you don't have to act. Yes, I know I'll miss Artemis, but I can come home with you when you come to visit your family during the summers and holidays. Virgo…well I'll just have to learn to live with the annoying ball of fluff," the little black cat laughed softly.

Usagi smiled softly scratching Luna behind her ears just the way she liked it. "Well, we'd better hurry then, Rosette will be here for us in ten minuets," she said and finished packing her belongings.

Crucify my love

If my love is blind

Crucify my love

If it sets me free

Never know, never trust

"That love should see a color"

Crucify my live

If it feels that way

Chibi Mamoru sighed depressed at the way the situation played out. Not only did he loose his Usako, whom he dearly loved, but he also blew his chances of getting laid by Rei or any of the other senshi for that matter. Ever since that day at the Crown, Usagi blocked him from her mind.

As Mamoru packed up his bag, he came across a photo of himself with all the other girls. A frown touched his lips as he remembered the events of that day.

>Flashback<

They had a great day, Mamoru and the girls had practically spent the whole day at the beach. Since Ami and Makoto lived just a few blocks apart from each other, the two decided to go their own way since it was not the same direction as Minako, Rei and Usagi.

He remember dropping Minako off first then Usagi after giving his Usako a passionate kiss.

Neither of the two failed to notice Rei scowling at them from the back seat.

After the couple finally broke their kiss, Mamoru drove Rei home. "You know Mamo-chan, you need a real woman instead of that ditz," Rei remarked before getting out of his car. She leaned down peering into the car window purposely flashing him her cleavage. "Think of this as a friendly offer," she seductively winked.

<end flashback>

Mamoru glared at Rei's image with a murderous glint. "I swear Hino Rei I will make you pay for ruining my future."

"I made these for your trip, "Ikuko smiled sadly handing Usagi a box full of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and brownies. "We'll miss you,"

Usagi smiled and hugged her mother tightly being careful not to mash the treats. "I'll miss you too, but don't forget, I'll be home this summer," She said to reassure her mother.

"But aren't you going to finish high school in America?"

"Hai, but I will still come home in the summer and at Christmas, promise."

Ikuko smiled and kissed her daughter on the cheek. "Oh my little girl is growing up so fast."

"Usagi-chan, the car's all packed and it is time to go," Kenji spoke softly walking over to his wife and daughter. "Now, you behave and don't let that wayward cousin of yours get you in any trouble,"

"I'll be good papa," Usagi laughed softly giving him another hug.

"Now you'd better get going or else you'll miss your flight. We'll see you this summer Usagi-chan," Kenji said giving Usagi one more hug before shooing her out of the door.

Usagi slipped on her shoes and picked up her courier bag containing a few mangas and Luna then ran out the door. "Love ya!" she called out as she hopped in the car with Rosette then drove off.

Swing he heartache

Feel it inside out

When the wind cries

I'll say good bye

Tried to learn tried to find

To reach out for eternity

Where is the answer

Is this forever.

Since they were flying out at night, the cues at the ticket counter and security check points were relatively short and moved fast which made Usagi happy. Soon the two were on their flight and headed for Chicago.

Several long and boring hours later:

"Ladies and gentleman, we are now on our final approach and will be landing shortly at O'hare international airport. The local time is 4:45 in the afternoon and the current air temperature is sixty-five degrees. We ask that you now bring your seat backs and tray tables back to their full upright and locked position…" the flight attendant announced in a chipper tone over the P.A. system.

"Usagi-chan… wake up, we're here." Rosette smiled gently waking her cousin.

Usagi yawned and stretched looking out the window seeing the city coming closer into view and her eyes lit up like a child at Christmas time. "A new life begins now," she beamed looking out at the new city below.

"Indeed. Tonight and tomorrow we rest, but the day after that, I'll show you around and where you'll be finishing high school."

Usagi nodded and continued looking out the window.

When the plane touched down, the two got off the plane and were met by one of Rosette's many servants. "Welcome home Miss Rosette," the dour chauffeur said as he approached the young black woman and Usagi.

"Thank you James, I take it all was quiet while I was away?" Rosette smiled at the driver.

"Yes Ma'am," he said.

"Sugooi," Usagi gasped surprised. "I didn't know you had a driver."

Rosette smiled and took Usagi's hand. "Oh you'd be surprised with a lot of things here."

After they grabbed their luggage from the baggage claim, they got in the black limousine. After the driver loaded all their bags in the trunk, they headed home.

With the curiosity of a child, Usagi gazed out the window at city as they drove past it. "Where are we?" she asked.

Rosette looked out the window then returned to the script in her hand. "We are passing through downtown Chicago," she replied smiling at Usagi. "Maybe next weekend, we'll catch a play then have dinner, ne?"

Usagi beamed feeling happy for the first time since confronting Rei and Mamoru. "I'd love that!" she replied cheerfully.

"I'm glad to see you happy my little princess," Rosette smiled in return putting own her script and giving Usagi a sisterly hug. Their peaceful moment lasted a moment only to be disturbed by a quarreling Luna and Virgo. Both Rosette and Usagi sweatdropped at the sight of the two cats fighting.

After driving for about an hour, the limousine drove through an ornate iron gate and up a beautiful tree-lined road. Rosette smiled at her cousin who had drifted to sleep after they left the major part of the city. "Usagi-chan…we're home," she spoke softly waking her cousin.

Usagi slowly opened her sapphire blue eyes then gasped in surprise seeing the huge Victorian styled mansion they were currently parked in front of. "You live here?" she asked earning a nod from her cousin.

"Your uncle, my father, got it in hopes that someday he would be able to invite the entire family here for the wedding, but only close friends of both my mother and father showed…Mama's own family even refuse to show up," Rosette sighed sadly looking at the mansion. "Come on, there's some people that are dying to meet you," she said quickly cheering up and pulling Usagi out of the limo.

"Welcome home!" a female voice called out at the pair as they entered the mansion. Usagi looked around finding the source of the voice heading towards them. A woman in her mid forties dressed in a navy blue dress with white apron quickly approached them wiping her hands on a dish towel. "This must be the angel princess you always spoke of," the woman smiled at Usagi.

"Hai, this is my cousin, Usagi," she began. "Usagi, this is Mrs. Hanley, she is in charge of housekeeping here."

"Oh pish posh, I told you to call me Karen," Mrs. Hanely laughed boisterously.

Usagi bowed politely in greeting. "Konnichiwa Karen-san," she giggled.

"I can tell you are going to be a breath of fresh air here to everyone," Karen smiled taking Usagi's hand gently. "C'mon, I'll show you to your room,"

Usagi nodded smiling as she followed Karen up the elaborately curved staircase and down a short hall. Karen opened the first door on the left revealing a room decorated with her favorite color…pink. "All of this is for me?" Usagi asked bewildered by the opulence.

"That it is little princess," Karen smiled glad she fixed up the right room for Usagi. "Dinner is at six sharp," she finished before leaving Usagi to unpack and relax.

Chapter 3b: The Letter

Back in Tokyo:

"I wonder where Usagi-chan went?" Makoto sighed picking at her lunch. "Motoki-kun said he hadn't seen her since the scene at the Arcade."

"I'm worried too, I mean she hasn't been in class for over two weeks an Haruna isn't upset or anything," Minako said before taking a small bite from her lunch. "It's like she knows something but won't tell the class."

"You know who's to blame for all of this, right?" Ami said from behind her book completely ignoring her lunch.

"Yeah…this is all Rei's fault." Makoto snarled slamming her fist down on the table cracking the wood and startling other helpless bystanders.

"Maybe if she knew that Mamoru still loved her, and that Rei is no longer among us, she'll come back from where ever she went.

The bell rang indicating the end of lunch. "Why don't we talk about this some more at the arcade after school Mianko said as she ran off towards her first class.

"I'll meet you and Makoto there, Minako," Ami said as a thought came to her mind.

Going on a hunch, Ami went to Usago's house and rang the bell.

"Oh hello Ami-chan," Ikuko smiled gently at the young lady. "I'm sorry, but Usagi isn't here."

"Oh where did she go?" Ami asked curiously.

Ikuko sighed hesitantly. "She told me either you or one of the girls would come by so she told me to give you this," she sighed softly pulling a envelope from her apron pocket.

"Where did she go?"

Ikuko stepped aside allowing Ami inside. "Honestly, I can't tell you not because I don't know but because Usagi-chan doesn't want anyone to know where she went…not now anyway."

Ami looked at the envelope in her hands and sighed. "I'll respect her wishes Ikuko-san, but if you hear from Usagi, tell her that Makoto, Minako and I are sorry for what happened and if she can find it in her heart to please forgive us."

"Tell me Ami-chan, what happened to upset Usagi-chan so much?" Ikuko asked softly.

Ami took a deep breath and sighed. "It's not my place to tell you Ikuko-san."

><<>><<>

"Where is Ami?" Makoto asked sipping her shake.

"She said dhe had something to take care of before she came here. Just be patient," Minako said lazily stirring her straw around her shake.

"You guys!" Ami cried out as she ran into the Arcade. "We've got a big problem."

"What is it?" Makoto asked concerned.

Ami sat down at the table with the others and sighed. "Usagi left Japan yesterday she had been getting a crash course in English for the past two weeks so she could learn enough to sustain herself in America."

"What?" Minako gasped.

"You're kidding, right Ami?" Makoto almost pleaded.

"I'm afraid not," Ami said. "Acting on a hunch I went to the Tsukino's home and spoke with her mother and Ikiko-san handed me this letter," she finished, pulling the letter out of her bag. "We shouldn't have been so quick to side with Rei.

Makoto took the letter from Ami's hands and began to read it aloud.

Dear Minako, Makoto, and Ami,

I'm sorry I wasn't a good leader Rosette offered me the chance to improve, so I took it. I can't tell you where I am right now, but I am safe. As for Youma attacks, don't worry, Rosette assured me that she made sure that everything would be okay so if there is danger, don't worry. I can't tell you who or what is there to help you, she was too cryptic. Anyway, I don't hold what you said against you, you were just to afraid to speak up against Rei, she scared me too at times. Maybe when I return home from summer break we can maybe catch a show or something.

Take care,

Usagi

Minako wiped a tear from her eye looking at the letter. "We've got to find a way to get in touch with her."

"Well if she took Luna with her, then she'll be sure to contact Artemis so, I'll ask him if he heard anything from Luna," Minako said.

Thr three girls nodded an continued talking amongst themselves thinking of a way to get tieir princess back.

Chapter 3c: Old Enemies, New Friends,

Back in Chicago:

"Usagi-chan! Wake up or you'll be late for your first day of school!" Neherenia said gently shaking the young blonde.

Usagi groaned and pulled the fluffy blankets over her head. "I don't wanna get up," she groaned.

Neherenia sighed and looked at Luna, "Is she always this difficult in the morning?"

"She used to be, but I think she is still adjusting to the time change," Luna yawned. "Leave it to me," the black cat said hopping over to her young charge."

Neherenia blinked then stepped back not knowing what Luna would do.

Luna smirked and pulled the blanket back off of Usagi's head, took a deep breath and yelled, "WAKE UP MEATBALL HEAD!"

With a shot of surprise, Usagi sprang out of bed falling off the bed landing on her rear. "LUNA!" Usagi yelled tossing one of the decorative throw pillows at the cat.

Neherenia couldn't help but laugh at the exchange between Luna and Usagi making her presence known. "Sorry Usagi-chan, I was having a hard time waking you for school so I asked Luna for help," she giggled.

"Oh is that so?" Usagi smirked picking up a second pillow and tossed it at Neherenia.

The dark haired girl gasped surprised and picked up the pillow. "I accept your challenge moon princess," she giggled tossing the pillow back at Usagi hitting her in the face.

The two teenagers giggled madly as a full fledged pillow fight started.

Helios tapped his foot straightening out the tie to his uniform and looked at his watch grumbling. "Where are they" he grumbled tapping his foot.

"USAGI, NEHERENIA! What is Going On Here?" Rosette snapped from the doorway. "Hurry up or else you two will be late for school!"

"Sorry," Both girls said at the same time.

Neherenia ran back to her room and finished getting ready while Usagi ran in to her bathroom and got ready.

In a record time of five minuets both Usagi and Neherenia ran down the stairs dressed in their uniforms with their bookbags in hand.

"Well it took you long enough," Helios grumbled at the pair of giggling girls. "Here, Karen already made your lunches," he said handing Usagi a pink lunch bag with bunnies and moons printed on it and Neherenia a purple lunch bag covered with golden stars. "If I am not mistaken, you two have the same schedule which includes being in Miss. Madison's homeroom and first period and if my memory serves me, she is a real shrew."

"Oh My Gosh!," Neherenia squealed and grabbed both Helios and Usagi running out of the house and hopping into his car. "I'll drive!"

A look of pure terror washed over Helios face as he reached for the car keys. "NOOO!!!"

Neherenia put the key in the ignition and started the car instantly pressing down on the gas flying down the driveway.

Rosette couldn't help but laugh as she heard Usagi and Helios' screams of terror.

"Those kids," Luna sighed sweatdropping. Virgo sighed as sweatdropping as well at the hilarious scene.

"Next time they'll be ready to go on time," Rosette laughed.

<>><<>

Needless to say, the trio made it to school on time. Usagi thought it was pretty strange how things played out. During homeroom announcements, she sat by the window and stared out at a flying robin, thoughts about her first night at her cousin's home.

><<>><<>

<Flashback>

Surprised was an understatement when she met the rest of the house mates at dinner that night. Of course being the head of the house, she was first to the dinner table. Usagi noticed that there were two more places set at the table

"Um, who else is coming for dinner?" Usagi asked as she sat down next to Rosette.

Rosette neatly spread her napkin across her lap and waited. "The other two guests of this house."

Usagi opened her mouth to ask another question, but was interrupted by the arrival of the other two guests.

"Sorry we're late Rosette-san," Neherenia said as she walked around to her usual seat at the table

"Yeah, we sort of got caught in traffic," Helios added following Neherenia.

Usagi gasped and leaped back nearly knocking the chair to the floor but catching it in time. "Neherenia, Helios!" she gasped surprised looking at the couple. "When did you two…"

"Become a couple?" Helios finished for Usagi.

Neherenia took Helios' hand blushing lightly and smiling at her beau. "After you purified my soul and I absorbed the golden mirror back into my body, I was having a hard time sleeping," Neherenia began as she took her seat. "Well to try and make a long story short, Helios came to me in my dreams erasing the last lingering nightmares o had about all the bad things that I have done then one day we met…"

"And we've been together ever since," Helios finished.

Usagi smiled at the two then proceeded to eat her dinner receiving a few etiquette tips from her cousin along the way.

>End flashback<

"Hey Usagi-chan," Neherenia spoke softly handing a packet of papers to the blonde. "Here's a syllabus of the class. Sadly Miss Madison will expect you to complete the syllabus in order to pass this class, but don't worry, I'll help you," she smiled.

Usagi took the thick packet of paper and thumbed through it groaning in defeat. "You're kidding, right?"

"Sadly, I am not. You have to read at least ten of the thirty book here and write a three page book report, or you can read five and do a ten page report on a poet of your choice on top of the assignments listed in the packet. But don't worry, I'll help you get caught up," she smiled a genuine smile.

"Thank you, Neherenia-chan," Usagi smiled.

"Maybe this is what I needed after all?" Usagi thought to herself as she readied herself for her first day at her new school.
