The morning sun beat down on the house. "Damn it, I hate mornings." The girl sat up; the sun could barely penetrate her sun blockade, which consisted of one dark purple fleece blanket over one window and a many times folded over light purple bed sheet over another. Both of which had been torn slightly so that they would fit precisely on the curtain rod pegs. Her room, lit only by the dimmed light that penetrated the bed sheet, was a highly cluttered mess. She slid to the floor and proceeded to let her blue silk night gown fall from her shoulders and slip to the floor. She left the room with her neon towel and followed the small hallway to the bathroom. She shut herself within and turned on the shower. The hot water glided down her smooth, pale skin and the warm steam wrapped her in the gentle scent of her Moonlight Way soap. She had never been one for mornings and the shower/bath was not helping the fact that she had to wake up and go to school. Settling in to the warm water she let her mind drift.

But all to soon her grandma's familiar question, "Amber, do you want breakfast or not?" interrupted her fantasy of the school blowing up or some other horrid thing that may keep her home.

"No grandma" she said, the one thing she hated more than mornings was school. She had all female teachers. Not to mention her first class was her worst subject, Algebra with Mrs. Witte, who in her personal had made it her personal mission to ruin Amber's life, followed by Language Arts with Mrs. Schar who was not as bad as some others. Both of which take 2 class periods to complete. Then her semi-savior lunch, which was filled with loud, impertinent, selfish, rude, foul mouthed 8th graders. She never ate the food of MLK middle school, which 90% of the time consisted of, what she had determined to be some alien's brains from area 51 slathered on pool-water tasting fries and covered by pukey liquid cheese. The whole thing smelled of throw-up not to mention it looked accordingly, Spudsarouni. The perfect song for it was 'Great green glob of greasy, grimy gopher gut, mutilated monkey meat, dirty little birdie feet, hot school lunches aren't fit for kids to eat so pass the ketchup please'. She never ate it because was surly poison to humans, granted she was one of the few humans at the school. Oh sure they all looked human enough but they were mostly aliens to be able to stomach the awful lunches, so that was the second meal missed. She basically did not eat until dinner. Her afternoon classes were not all bad. U.S. History with Mrs. Schmidt was some times rewarding with time for sleeping. Science with Ms. Stone was halfway decent though she didn't see why it mattered that there were small creatures in water or it mattered that if you have 3 strands of rope to a pulley it makes the job 2x easier. Next was the only class she truly enjoyed Chorus with Mrs. Vaughn in whose class she was with her best pal Danielle. They were always telling each other their fake lives except for one tiny detail. Amber's was real. She always said that she was imitating different anime when in fact they were truer than she let on. Her only proof to herself were the stretch marks from her summer in hell when she had been put on the rack. She never admitted to the fact of it being true, she always blamed it on her being her being over weight. She was actually thin but she had let her self become over weight to have some excuse for the marks, and also said she dyed her hair the silver color it was at a young age when it had actually always been like that. Her golden eyes masked with blue contact lenses so she was not a totally freakish looking girl when she knew that she was not normal. But she considered herself more human than most, and had wisdom far beyond her years. But she was still very immature at heart. She had never been too social either, she tried and ended up crying herself to sleep at night. Her final class, Latin with Mrs. Korb, was so boring she ignored it. Her bus came to the school on time for once. Thankfully her stop was first or close to first. She got off at the top of the street and had to walk to the bottom off the hill and street. She felt like going to the woods at the bottom of her street, to visit her makeshift grave for a very dear friend of hers.

"Nicolas D. Wolfwood, I'll miss you my dear friend. My you find your Eden in heaven, a place with no wars and stealing, a place with peaceful days and nights, where we can all get along and live together in peace and harmony," a small tear escaped her eye as she fondly remembered the kind of man Nicolas was. He was a traveling priest, carrying an enormous metal cross on his back. The cross was in all actuality one big gun! She remembered he always had an unlit cigarette hanging out of his mouth and how he most times smiled. She remembered how Vash, another one of her beloved friends, would always scold Wolfwood in battle 'Thou shall not kill remember! What the heck kind of church man are you anyway?!' she remembered the time she had gotten in big trouble from her little hobby of dimension jumping and gotten kidnapped by some very ugly fellow and how Wolfwood and Vash saved her. Wolfwood and she had been very close. He was like a father figure to her. She always would smile about how they always referred to Vash as needle noggin due to the fact his short golden-blonde hair was always spiked up in to a very tight set of needle like shapes. He would always be such a rascal, and the 14yearold girl suddenly blushed at the though of when Wolfwood had given her a little kiss goodnight. She would never forget it. Her thoughts turned to his final moments. Then she whipped out her little dimensional key and ripped open a portal but this one was different instead of a soft wind pushing her in a great suction yanked her in. Amber's head hit the ground with a solid thud, the world spun and went dark.

~ Flashback ~

A week previous:

"Wolfwood! Wolfwood! Where are you? Wolf...wood?" Amber cried as she saw Wolfwood in a church on bent knee his cross leaned on his shoulder. The trail of blood drops that led down the aisle to where he sat a slight pool of his own blood. She ran, tears in her eyes. He heard her as she drew close. "Wolfwood don't leave me, please! Don't leave me alone!" her eyes now pouring out many tears of grief.

"I'm not dead yet," he muttered to her, she then grabbed him and hugged him. She was so happy that he was still alive, "Listen I've not got much time left. I want you to tell Millie to move on with her life. Tell Needle Noggin not to blame himself for my demise and that Knives is in the town of July, ...and Amber?" she looked up at him, her eyes still very tearful. He halfway fell, halfway leaned into her and kissed her deeply. She was startled by this and yet so excited she kissed back. But all to soon his body fell the rest of the way and their lips parted and his head landed on her chest. His gun cross fell to the ground with a very loud bang. She hugged his dead body to herself as the hot tears poured down her red face.

"WOLFWOOD! NOOO!" she cried as the blonde gun man in a red overcoat dashed up.

"Amber! What happened?" then he saw Wolfwood's unmoving body in her arms. His hand flew to his mouth, "Oh my god, I failed again. I failed to save another person." She took the dimension key and opened a portal to the woods near her house. She and Vash lifted the deceased Wolfwood in to the forest and buried him in the woods. Amber wept in to Vash's arms. She and Vash walked in to the portal once more and Amber picked up the heavy cross and went as fast as she could to where Millie was.

"M-Millie *hic*, " Amber said as she burst in to the room where an expectant Millie sat.

"Amber?" Millie said as she saw Wolfwood's cross and was hoping he was right behind, was devastated when Amber relayed the news to Millie. She and Millie wept on each other's shoulders. After that Amber opened her portal and dashed through the rift to her room.

~ End Flashback ~

The warmth around her grew at a surprising rate, she could the voice of a man who reminded her so much of Wolfwood, no it WAS Wolfwood. "Amber don't blame yourself. You did your best and as long as it was your best I'm happy. Being with you in those last moments was all the Eden I needed, now I'm watching over you from the eternal Eden. I'll see you again some day but please be strong, for me, for you, for everyone who has, dose, and ever will care for you."

"Wolfwood, I miss you. I miss so bad it hurts." She said as a blue light engulfed her, her hair flew wildly around her face as she was surrounded by his presence. Water splashed up around her in great column and suddenly her clothes changed to a blue mini-skirt and a white top with a large blue collar and bow on it. Her feet covered by a pair of blue high heels, and white gloves encased her hands.

"Now wake up. May you go with gods protection." Wolfwood said and she woke.

To her surprise she was in a room, 3 men standing over her. Well 1 man and 2 boys, one of them about her age. She scrambled up and out of the room before the men could react. Her long silver tresses flowing like water down her back, her feet pounded down the hall. She kept running till she came to a dead end. She was trapped except for a window, she looked out and immediately regretted it. They were to high up for her to jump and the man and one boy were closing fast.

"Wolfwood! Help me, please," suddenly his presence surrounded her, and a weird pen appeared before her, she grabbed it, and as if out of sheer instinct she called out, "NEPTUNE PLANET POWER!" as her body began to complete the fluid movements. A column water splashed up around her and suddenly her clothes changed to the blue mini-skirt and a white top with a large blue collar and bow on it. Her feet covered by a pair of blue high heels, and white gloves encased her arms and hands.

"How dare you abduct me, Sailor Neptune, Goddess of Water and the Sea. On the behalf of Neptune, I shall punish you. NEPTUNE DEEP SUBMEREGE!" She screamed as a large blast of energy met her water blast, suddenly her clothes changed to a dark green version of her blue outfit, and a large staff appeared beside her. Taking the skeleton key like staff she charged forward, "This is the form of Sailor Pluto the Keeper of Time. PLUTO DEADLY SCREAM!" she yelled as her dark energy blasted erupted from her staff and toward to man. This time he could not counter or block the blast, his body shot across the floor as some one decked her from behind. Again her clothes changed to a yellowish gold outfit and she said, "Form of Sailor Uranus Goddess of the element of Earth, URANUS WOLRD SHAKING!" She said unleashing a devastating blow to boy who had flown through the window and had struck her. She was unfortunately out of energy, she had no choice she climbed to the open window and leapt. Her heart raced as the world speed up to meet her. She struck had injuring he leg but she pulled herself up and fell to the ground and her clothes reverted back to her long dress. Amber sensed the unhurt boy behind her so she began to crawl to get away but he sat down and grabbed her so she was facing him, he had to have seen she was hurt.

"Hold still. You're hurt and need rest," he said, trying to draw her close.

"Let go of me," Amber said, as she thrashed and flailed around, her head was too moving straining to have him release her. But had she been mindful of him pulling her closer to him to stop her struggling and just where she was thrashing she would not have hit his lip the way she did. Their faces tilted at the perfect angle, both had parted lips, and they way his arms were wrapped around her ignited the passion in them. But as her memories of her first lip lock filled her head she pushed the boy's face away and began crying.

"Gomen nasai, did I hurt you?" he asked in a very loving tone, her head rested on his chest, the tears now running free on her tender face.

"No it's not that, I'm still trying to get over my first love who died about a week ago," after those words fell from her lips, he embraced he more. Her dress was skin tight at the top and now she felt like she could not breath even though it was elastic so it would fit anyway. Now they were so close, so horribly close that she remembered when Wolfwood held her like this. She cried her self to sleep in his strong, gentle caress. His handsome face, gentle features, and beautiful lavender hair were now etched in to her mind forever, as he now carried her into the building.

Amber fell in to a deep sleep but that did not mean she was at peace in her dreams. Dreams of the boy, of Wolfwood and his final moments haunted her mind. She must have been crying out because she was shaken awake by the boy. She gasped in the bright room, seeing the man and boy who see had fought before her energy had been depleted. She started to poise herself to run, but they had closed and locked the door, wise to her desire to leave. The boy who had sneaked up on her spoke first in a warm, rich, laughing voice, "Hey there, you okay? You're a pretty good fighter. What's your name?" his questions were definitely like that of a child, so curious and sweet, but she kept a straight face and looked at the short man who took no joy in his greeting look toward her.

"May I ask what your name is first? And you in the corner chill, hold up your not a prince are you?" at the question he looked at her with certain respect.

"I am Prince Vegeta of the planet Vegeta, I'm the prince of the Saiyan race. Kakarot and I are the last pure blood Saiyans left." The man in the corner said.

"Who's Kakarot?" she asked certainly curious now.

"Guilty," said the one who had been so forth coming before she had even said a word, "but people call me Goku," he said cheerfully.

"I'm Trunks, Vegeta's son," said the lavender haired boy. She blushed slightly as she remembered what had transpired the previous night between her and Trunks. God she had given him a very intimate detail of her life, her pain. She kept her blushing to a minimal and drew a deep breath.

"I'm Amber, top spirit detective under employment of King Yama's son

Koenma. I was dead once but took a test to come back and had to become spirit detective because of my high marks. I am from another world, dimension, or plain of reality whatever you wanna call it," when she finished Goku was immediately bombarding her with comments.

"You work from King Yama? I mean his son! Cool I am a pretty good friend of his! Yama that is." Goku blurted, she saw Vegeta lean over to a speaker and say something that was indiscernible thanks to Goku's yammering. Vegeta felt her eyes and glared at her.

She stood and hobbled close to where he stood. Her was pleasantly surprised by her arrogance, "Look your Lordship or whatever, I've fought demons stronger than you and I'm pretty damn upset from a recent development so don't push me or I'll blast your ass in to oblivion." He was taken aback by her comment but simply replied with a smirk. "Hey you got something to say? Say it short stuff. Actually you remind me of a demon I work with. He is a pain in the ass like you. You look similar too."

Trunks ran up and pulled her back, "Trust me quit while you ahead." She turned to him with a look of surprise in her eye.

Feeling a little faint, she sat on the bed. "Need a zenzou bean?" Goku questioned.

"What's that?" she asked with a very innocent look much to contrast the tough, bad-ass girl she had just been. Reaching up she removed her contact lenses and discarded them, revealing her molten gold eyes.

"Here this is a senzou bean. They heal you right up." He said looking in her eyes as she took the bean and swallowed it.

Suddenly her energy was replenished and her leg did in fact repair it's self. "Man I'm starving. Any food `round here?"

Vegeta smiled which startled her. "Let's go Bulma should be about done making breakfast by now." They all exited the room the man and small boy in front and Amber and Trunks behind.

"You never told me you were Royalty," she in a very annoyed tone.

"I was afraid that you would not like me or like me for the wrong reasons, not to mention I didn't have time to say it." He said now being quite timid, he was sure she hated him now.

"Actually I'm mad that you didn't tell me had I known I may not have been so disagreeable yesterday. But al the same I like you for who you are not your status. So don't ever worry about that," Amber said placing her head on Trunks' shoulder.

Vegeta saw the young girl, who could not be more than his son's age, talk quite heatedly behind, but the hard edge of her voice dulled to a sweet, flirtatious sort of tone. He growled slightly as she moved closer to him and rested her head on his arm.

"Vegeta? What's up?" Goku said quietly.

"I don't like the way she is hanging all over him when we all have only just met," he said with a slight nervousness to his voice.

"Oh, relax Vegeta it's those raging teenage hormones. They are young and she seems hopelessly in love with him so don't worry too much or you'll get gray hair," Goku said jokingly.

When they reached the dinning room Bulma, Vegeta's wife and Trunks' mother, fused over Amber and her leg which had been quickly repaired by Goku's zenzuo bean.
