Chapter 4
“Ladies and gentlemen I have just been informed by the head judge of this tournament that the semifinals will now consist of two four-way duels,” Choy explained, “The two duelists that win their four-way duel will play each other in the finals. The first duel will be Chaos verses Haruka verses Vlad verses Michiru. Let the duel begin.”
Each duelist drew five cards and Michiru won the dice roll. Haruka was chosen to go first and after her would be Vlad's turn with Michiru taking her turn after him. Chaos merely smiled as he would be able to draw first blood by going last. Haruka drew her card and summoned Sangan in attack mode. She laid two cards face down and ended her turn. Vlad drew his sixth card and played Call of the Mummy, allowed him to summon his Vampire Lord in attack mode. After laying one card face down he ended his turn. Michiru drew her card only to have Vlad use his face down Dust Tornado on the face down card to Haruka's left. Using his trap card's ability he set one card face down and let Michiru continue her turn. Michiru summoned Emissary of the Afterlife in attack mode. She played Swords of Revealing Light and ended her turn. Chaos drew a card and used Heavy Storm.
“Hope you didn't lose a good trap card Vlad,” Chaos commented.
“Nope just another Dust Tornado trap card,” Vlad replied.
Chaos continued his turn by using Pot of Greed and laid two cards face down. Then he played Graceful Charity, which allowed him to draw three cards but discard two. He discarded White Dragon Ritual and Blue Eyes White Dragon. Chaos used Premature Burial to bring his dragon back from the graveyard.
“Now I won't attack this turn plus I plan on giving him up next turn,” stated Chaos.
He used Dimension Hole on Sangan removing it from play for one turn. He then ended his turn. Haruka got Sangan back but switched him to defense mode. She played the card she had drawn face down to end her turn. Vlad drew before laughing his head off. He played three Dark Designators and chose to use them on Chaos. Vlad picked two Blue Eyes White Dragons and Polymerization. He ended his turn with one card face down. Michiru drew her card and switched Emissary to defense mode. She played two cards face down but Chaos activated his face down Dust Tornados. Michiru's cards were destroyed and because of his traps' abilities Chaos was allowed to play two trap cards face down on the field. Michiru ended her turn and Chaos drew his card.
“Now I play Giant Trunade to return all magic and trap cards to the owner's hand,” Chaos stated, “ Now I use Polymerization to fuse the dragon I have on the field with two in my hand to crate the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. Now I chose to attack Vlad's monster. Now with your monster gone I use De-Fusion to return my beast into three separate dragons. I'll have two of them attack you directly Vlad and the last one will attack Haruka's Sangan. Now I'll use Premature Burial to bring my Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon back from the graveyard. I'll play two cards face down on the field and end my turn.”
Haruka had used her Sangan's ability to get the head of Exodia and drew her card.
“I'll summon Emissary of the Afterlife in attack mode,” Haruka commented.
“Activate trap card,” Chaos declared, “Bottomless Trap Hole will remove your monster from the game. That's not all because I also play Chain Destruction to send all the Emissaries in your hand and deck to the grave.”
“Fine I'll play one card face down and end my turn,” Haruka replied.
“I'll draw and play one card face down and end my turn,” Michiru commented.
“I'll draw and play another Giant Trunade to return all face down cards to the owner's hand,” said Chaos, “Now my Ultimate Dragon will destroy your Emissary of the Afterlife. Haruka don't even taking a card from your deck because the rest of my dragons are going to attack you directly.”
Haruka was knocked out of the duel but Michiru took another piece of Exodia and added it to her hand.
“I'll draw a card and summon a monster in defense,” Michiru stated, “Now attack me if you dare.”
“I'll draw one card,” Chaos declared, “I think its time to finish this duel with Nobleman of Crossout. Now that your defense is gone I can wipe out your life points with one single blast. Now I attack you directly with my three Blue Eyes White Dragons.”
Michiru's life points dropped to zero making Chaos the winner of the duel.
“The winner of the first semi-finals duel is Chaos,” Choy announce.
Chaos went over to Vlad to talk with him only to discover that his friend was lying on the floor motionless. Chaos checked Vlad's pulse to see if he was alive but what he discovered left him confused.
“Spade I think you should come check this out,” Chaos shouted.
Spade and Maximus ran over to Chaos to see what was wrong.
“What's going on Chaos?” Inquired Maximus
“Its Vlad he is just lying there motionless,” Chaos remarked, “It's almost as if he is in a coma.”
“I know what happened to him,” Spade commented, “His soul was sent to the Shadow Realm but this kind of Shadow Magic is more advanced then what we normally deal with. The type of magic used sent his soul to the Shadow Realm and soon his body will follow. There is nothing we can do for him now.”
“The second match of the semi-finals is about to begin,” Choy announced, “Will Spade, Setsuna, Maximus, and Ami please report to the dueling platform.”
The duelists took their places at the table and shuffled their decks. Once that was done they drew five cards and Ami was informed that she would start the duel. She drew her card and played a monster face down on the field. She then played Nightmare Steel Cage and ended her turn.
